So thrilled to have discovered this cosy, homely, wonderful little cottage. In a great location overlooking the fishing boats and the bay in Roundstone, with cafes, bars, shops close by. Well supported by a very friendly and helpful caretaker. The cottage was very well equipped. Everything we would want plus extras provided. Only one thing we thought it lacked was coat hooks. We loved our stay. Comfortable beds, cosy sitting room, dining area, well equipped kitchen. What more could we possibly want. Thank you.

Excellent overall. We hope to be back. Key box on wall a little high for a smaller visitor and a second set of keys would be welcomed.

My family of four, two children and two adults had a lovely five night stay in Sandy Heels. The location is perfect, right in the village, close to all the lovely pubs and restaurants and the view is just amazing. The weather was changeable so it was great to come home to a cosy house, light the stove and relax after walking the local beaches all day. There are plenty of books on the shelves and a fab reading spot up in the attic room which was such a bonus. Lots of room to spread out. My boys loved the attic room for chilling out waiting for the rain shower to pass, looking out the roof window at the harbour below. Comfy beds, great cooking facilities and a lovely patio added to the five star stay. We would all highly recommend this property for a stay in Connemara and will definitely be back!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and full of character. At first there was no hot water but I phoned our contact and he came round within an hour to try to sort it out. He couldn't fix it but he sent a plumber round a few hours later and the boiler was soon working again. The weather was very good and we were able to enjoy the lovely courtyard garden for some of our meals. We also ate at a couple of the very good restaurants in Roundstone. We did some local walks and swam in the sea at Gurteen Bay. We did several daytrips in the car to explore the Connemara area. We were delighted that we had chosen Roundstone as it was a little off the beaten track and not as full of cars and tourists as some other places we visited. Parking near the cottage was always easy.

After a long road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way the end of my journey was spent having a few days in Roundstone at Sandy Heels.
I was never so sorry to leave a place and I am a seasoned traveller.
This lovely cottage is warm, comfortable, stylish and perfectly placed to enable time to explore Connemara safe in the knowledge that a cosy home from home awaits your return.

I loved the nice cozy cottage. It was convenient to beautiful beaches, and a short drive to a variety of restaurants and lovely walks. A relaxing place to stay in one of the most beautiful areas in Ireland.

This cottage was to a very high standard throughout. I travelled with my wife and 2 kids. Roundstone is one of Connemara's little gems. The views from the house of the Twelve Ben's is truly amazing. Kids playground only a 5 min walk from the house. Every part of Connemara is just on your doorstep Clifden, Letterfrack, Dogs Bay (amazing beach). The owner was at the end of the phone to help in anyway needed. A+++++ We will definitely return.

We found this cottage delightful. The location was perfect and it was cosy warm and welcoming. I wold certainly be happy to go back.

Super location in Roundstone, amazing views. The dishwasher doesn't wash, you'll need to do your crockery by hand, and sadly the bath had to be cleaned before we could use it. Shower not great either.
Could overlook all of the above because the views from the front door and bedroom were unsurpassable and will remain as treasured memories for ever. Overall the cottage is lovely.

Had you issues you should have contacted caretaker on arrival to be given the opportunity to rectify any issues you felt you had. You would have had these details from checking in to the cottage. Wonderful cosy quaint are three words to describe this property

Stayed for 4 nights in October
Very comfortable, well thought out living space. Lovely wee terrace and excellent views
Well situated within the village and the village itself being well placed in Connemara for nearby and further afield activities.
Worth climbing the hill behind and cycling to clifden.
allthingsconnemara were very good on information and ticket booking, so we hired bikes there.
Would also mention Frank Acton Garage in Clifden. Were brilliant when we had brake trouble. They fixed the brakes and helped us ensure it did not spoil the holiday
Pubs and restaurants in Roundstone - we did not go to as many as intended as we loved to cook in, the cottage was so nice
Shamrock has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and serves a brilliant G&T (has a great selection as well if you are looking for that!)
O'Dowds was lovely for a birthday meal out
Would definitely return

My husband and I stayed here for a relaxing babymoon and that is what we got. Beautiful location, peaceful and had all the amenities we needed for
Our 5 day break. The accommodation was comfortable, enjoyed cooking in the contemporary kitchen and the views were to die for. Highly recommended.

The cottage is very comfortable and cocooning, well equipped and especially so well located. Rounstone is a small authentic port and the people are welcoming. We really loved it.

Lovely cottage opposite the harbour. Never had a problem parking and the hot water and heating worked well. Very impressed with the interior, outside maybe a work in progress but as it rained and we were out all day never really made use of it. Easy walking distance of various restaurants and cafes, post office and supermarket. Quieter than central Clifden and all the better for that..

Beautiful terraced in fantastic location in wonderful Roundstone. Sandy Hells is well appointed, and relaxing place to stay, however the single beds and sofa bed could all do with new mattresses. Enjoyed our stay very much. Would recommend Sandy Heels, Roundstone and Love Connemara

A wonderful house but unfortunately poorly maintained, very unfortunate for such an equipment. The caretaker had no time and was very quickly gone again when we arrived. But we enjoyed the week very, roundstone is a great place with nice people.

A very light and airy property with a well equipped kitchen. We were very lucky to have sunny weather for all of our stay and were delighted that the patio had the sun on it at all times of the day.

I stayed in Cottage 170 in Roundstone (or Sandy Heels as it is otherwise known) for Christmas 2015. I wanted to get away from the usual Christmas stuff so went into hiding for a few days in Roundstone. The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything you need for a quiet, peaceful winter stay.

The surrounding countryside/coastline is stunningly beautiful...I may well be back for a summer hide away too!

LOvely House/Cottage..excellent location for our needs and very comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage in Roundstone but we had issues with the housekeeping. The cottage was really dusty so we were sneezing like crazy the whole time we were there. The master bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable (thin and saggy) and the linens were old and didn't match so that wasn't very hospitable. The kitchen was messy, crumbs on the counter, dirty cooktop, damp and dirty dish cloths left in the sink. The TV had dirty fingerprints all over the screen. The living area had a smell of fuel which we finally determined was the open box fire starter logs so we put them in a zip-lock that we had with us and that took care of that. I cleaned when we got there so we left the cottage cleaner than we found it.
Its a very cute cottage in a very picturesque setting and we really enjoyed the village so if the housekeeping were improved and they replace the mattress this would be a wonderful rental. Considering we didn't get a single good nights sleep while we were there I can't recommend it to others at this point.

We have investigated your comments with the caretaker and with staff here at the rental agency. Unfortunately we were all unaware of any of your issues during your stay as they were not reported to the caretaker, or the agency. We feel if they had been brought to our attention we could have investigated and tried to rectify them rather than having you leave the cottage with such a disappointing opinion. Rest assured,the cottage is inspected and cleaned thoroughly between each rental. We are sorry on this occasion that it did not meet your standards.
