The house is in an excellent position for Kiloran Bay which is a 5 minute walk away however there are no views of the beach from the house or the garden. The house is small for 6 people and the stairs are essentially a ladder so if 4 people were to sleep upstairs they would have to be very agile and not be young kids. The is no TV (which was great) but there is excellent wifi. When we visited we were blessed with the heatwave so didn't spend much time in the living room, but again its small with possibly too much furniture squashed in there.
The house was clean, beds comfy and the kitchen had everything that was needed except a tin opener! Garden was nice although the garden furniture was well used and a bit dilapidated.
Colonsay is beautiful and would love to go back to experience a different season and Uragaig was a great place to be based.

Two of us in this nice well equipped cottage overlooking Kiloran bay. Bed was very comfortable but the cottage felt quite cool during a cold week in may. Electric heaters just about adequate. Great WiFi if required. Colonsay was stunning in may with bluebells and wild garlic in flower.

The cottage is in a great location for easy access to beautiful Kiloran Bay, although there are no views of the bay from the cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the kitchen small but very well equipped. The lounge is a bit dark as there is limited natural light but there are a lot of lamps. The lounge smells of damp which is most noticeable when you first enter the cottage as the front door opens into the lounge. Putting the heating on would probably get rid of this, but we didn’t wish to do this in July. There is also an additional charge for the electricity that you use. The cottage was a good size for the three of us for a week but would feel crowded with more than 4 people.

A great little hideaway near the outstanding Kiloran beach. Tanya and the team couldn't have been more helpful (as is everyone on the island!) picking us up from the airport and dropping our bags at the ferry on the Sunday. The cottage is clean and comfortable with everything you need. It's not got a view and is a little cold without the fire lit, but when we did that we had nice cosy evenings, and the location is unbeatable, with the most gorgeous countryside on the doorstep.

We had a great week, and the location is good as long as your car isn’t low slung.
We’d have appreciated a porch to store boots, wetsuits etc. as the living space is small.

48 hour flying visit. Cottage well-appointed and warm once we had worked out how to activate heating and hot water. The steep stairs are not for the very young, old or infirm. Approach road is seriously bumpy and would deter proud owners of low-slung cars. The scenery is beautiful and in the good weather we had Colonsay is idyllic.

The cottage is fine and close to a wonderful beach. It was clean and cosy and had everything we needed for the two of us to be comfortable for our stay. For more than two people though the tiny bathroom, small kitchen and very steep stairs up to the two attic bedrooms would make this a tricky for families. WiFi basically didn't work which was a bit frustrating but we are on a small island

We had a great week at Uragaig. Breathtaking location, characterful cottage, sun-trap outside table. A few suggestions: 1. A porch would be most useful, save piles of wet boots in the living room. 2. Saplings have grown up to block the view, topping them would open it all up. 3. Reading light flickers (old cfl bulb), treat your guests to an led! 4. Steel wool would be handy for frying pans (kitchen was well equipped). 5. Wifi password was very hard to find - just print it in the cottage instructions!

Our fourth visit to Colonsay over 30 years. It doesn't change much and that is its charm. These two cottages are perfectly located to appreciate the full glory that is Kiloran Bay. Probably best rented as a pair, as we did but enough privacy to work if rented separately. Positives - Brilliant showers, effective heaters (our weather was mixed), cosy sofas around great fireplace.
Negatives - lacking a few basic kitchen items such as a casserole dish and a large frying pan. The hob was very tempermental too.

We loved these cottages. There were eight of us in our group and we all managed to eat together which was very special.
We will no doubt return.

Uragaig is a well equipped comfortable and characterful cottage in an amazing location! Walk 30 yards and you see one of the best beaches in the world. The cottage is lovely and beds are comfortable. Be aware though that the bathroom and kitchen are tiny and it would be a challenge to have 6 people in the living area on a rainy day.

You're a couple of hundred yards from one of Colonsay's most beautiful beaches, although you can't see the beach from the cottage. The cottage is clean but very snug particularly downstairs. It's advertised as accommodating six and whilst there's plenty of bedroom space six people together in the single small living/dining room would be very cosy.

Uragaig is a nice wee cottage, which superficially looks great. Nice simple decor, interesting pictures on the walls etc. Very good recently fitted kitchen and shower room with excellent shower.
Staying in the cottage in chilly early April though was cold. The downstairs bedroom feels damp and whole place feels like it needs more insulation. This would be tolerable had the cottage been reasonably priced. But it's expensive and there are eye watering fuel prices on top.
The heating is by electric panel heaters and an open fire (though this smoked when the wind was in a certain direction)
There is also the ladder staircase to consider. Tricky to negotiate with a cup of tea, or in the night when you are sleepy!
The location is great, right next to Kiloran Bay...a very beautiful beach. Though sadly there is no view to the beach from the house.

Totally fabulous cottage in a wonderful location. Well provided with almost all required for a great holiday and comfortable stay.
Couple of minor suggestions (NOT complaints!). Most cottages provide a small starter pack of “essentials”; tea, coffee, salt etc. Have these been discontinued because of Covid? Kitchen equipment was great but a medium saucepan would have been useful (all very big or small).

Fifth time staying here in 15 years. Love the cottage, the location and the remoteness. Fabulous walks all around. Took e bikes this year which we used a lot instead of the car. Cottage was in good condition as usual although the shower drain was blocked and I had to clear it first time of showering. We always take logs with us for the fire so always cosy. We will be back again no doubt.

The cottage was very well equipped and the owners had taken pains to furnish it most attractively. The staff in the office were very helpful and friendly and it was great to be able to use the facilities at the House - particularly the tumble driers.

The major drawback was the trees and high hedge obscuring the view. All the vegetation also made the cottage feel damp - indeed I think it was and the wall behind the double bed in the downstairs bedroom should be looked at.
