We booked the complex of cottages (aside from the Cowshed) for the whole of our family reunion (47 of us!) we stayed at Westhope last year and we all fell in love with the place and thought it was the best place we had been to for our annual family reunions.
The properties are so spacious, immaculate and tastefully decorated. The outside areas and tidy and clean and the hot tubs are just splendid.
The cake and chocolate on arrival is a welcome treat along with enough teabags, coffee & milk to get everyone a warm cuppa after a long journey before we have to unpack all our food and luggage.
Chloe who was dealing with our booking was very accommodating and really quick to respond to emails/texts.
We absolutely love staying at Westhope and cannot fault anything about it. It’s a truly special place and tucked out of the way so perfectly, yet only a short 20min drive to Ludlow - a very pretty town full of history.
Thank you for another amazing weekend.

The location was a bit hard to find. Ample room for all guests and a good enclosed garden. Nicely situated to visit Ludlow Shrewsbury and Ironbridge.

There were 13 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the farmhouse. There was plenty of room for us all. We didn't have very good weather, but we were still able to get out and about and relax over family meals in the evening. Chloe was very helpful and obliging.

The property is in a very rural location, which is exactly what we wanted for a relaxing holiday. The house is lovely with every home comfort. The kitchen had everything we needed although an air fryer would have been the icing on the cake. One of the beds was very uncomfortable, next to the bathroom upstairs. the rest were all good. The garden was stunning, beautiful views, the sound of sheep bleating and birds singing. There is plenty of outside seating and a lovely hot tub. The welcome pack on arrival was very welcome including a lovely cake. There was 15 of us in total, 11 adults, 3 children a baby and 3 dogs. The house was big enough to easily accomodate us all. We all loved our stay and would definitely visit again.

We found the house was very nice with a good garden. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.
The BBQ was very good & clean.

We enjoyed our week and made more amazing because we could have breakfast and afternoon tea out in the garden a couple of days, especially as the rain was expected most days.
The house was well maintained and had everything in that we needed.
We enjoyed the area and had a couple of good meals out.

Lovely location for a family weekend away. Cottage is beautiful and the garden is perfect for the kids and dogs. Staff so helpful while organising and the information pack and welcome hamper is such a nice touch.
All the rooms were lovely and suited what we needed really well. All beds were comfortable except 1. We had a lovely stay and would certainly go back.

We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the property, as well as all the facilities and equipment provided. It was perfect for what our large group of family and friends needed.

I deducted a point for comfort as some of the mattresses on the beds were incredibly firm, and the sofas were uncomfortable.

All in all though, we loved it and would consider staying again.

Loved our stay at the Old Farmhouse. House was excellent for all our family and friends. Kitchen and bedrooms met all our needs and the addition of hot tub and games room filled our spare time! Walked right Swan Pub from the front door and did brilliant walks on the Long Mynd! Can recommend the Olympic town trail in Much Wenlock for history lovers!

Please note that as organiser for this weekend for 29/30 people my comments are on behalf of the whole group who stayed in the Old Farmhouse,(inc. Donkey Shed) Troopers Barn, The Olde Cowshed and Turnip House. It would be impractical to forward this questionnaire to the occupants of the other houses as they were made up of a mixture of people from different households. . Generally the feeling from virtually everyone was that it was a great place to stay in a beautiful location. For my part, as someone who has been along to most of the twice yearly weekends this group has been a part of for over 35+ years it would rank among the very best of all the many places we have visited and I am sure we will be booking again (although it will be a different organiser)
There are just a few minor points which I'd like to bring to your attention :-
Old Farmhouse- one of the sofa cushions leaking feathers (This was mentioned to one of the cleaners on the Monday morning)
I would guess that a dog belonging to a previous occupant had kneaded the cushion with their sharp claws.
Donkey Shed - the person who stayed her really liked it, but she said the heater was too hot in the middle of the night and there was a draught coming through the garden entrance door - it appeared a seal had not been installed .
Troopers Barn - unfortunately one of the last minute guests could not cope with the sofa bed in Troopers Barn. - I'm not really sure what the problem was, but I think it was due to the light streaming through the Velux window in the early hours of the morning and that that space is visible from the lounge below. Perhaps a blind/blinds could be fitted?
Turnip House - please see the note left by the occupants - some minor issues.

On a final note, although the home page on your website shows an aerial view of the site it would be helpful to include the overall plan which I noticed in the guest information booklets. This would have been helpful to those who arrived in the dark.

I don't think we upset him too much, but the guest in the Milking did express alarm to one in the party at a car parking by the well - they only were there for a short while as they had a 4-month old and alll the baby clobber to remove from the car.

Directions did not work for us but if the What three words which exist had been provided it would have helped, Better signage on local roads needed and a picture of the front of property as well would have helped instead of the garden and back of the house!
I had booked and expected six bedrooms within the house but one of the two downstairs was blocked off and not available, so after a phone call I was told we had to use the studio in Old Donkey Shed. This I should have been previously advised of. Kitchen was well set up but a bigger microwave could have been easier. Underfloor heating good. Both Large Old wooden doors from kitchen had no handles on them and had to be propped open/closed.. Dining Room good but the large ceiling light is held together by cable ties which was worrying. Toilet seat in downstairs bathroom had back fixture totally broken on one side so was very wobbly. Lounge was good apart from when sun was out (which it was) as it is south facing there is no shade and you do need some blinds or other shading option.
Stairs up from kitchen area did not have any form of handrail and are a health and safety hazard.
It would have been good to know which phone networks would not work and the WiFi was very limited for the number of visitors and only accessible in the kitchen and lounge. There is only one router and it is not powerful enough so you could rarely use it.
Most of these things could easily be sorted. Hot tub was good.

We love all the cottages we’ve stayed in at this place. They’re clean, well maintained and there are some really nice touches such as a freshly baked cake, bottle of wine left for guests. Will be back to stay again.

We have just spent 3/4 days at the old farmhouse at Westhope for our diamond wedding anniversary with the family.
There were 26 of us and we had a wonderful time. We have stayed a couple of times before and hopefully will stay again in the future

A family group of 14 stayed in the Old Farmhouse, the Wain House and the Old Cowshed for Christmas 2023 and had a fantastic time. All three cottages were beautifully decorated for Christmas and the welcome packs including mince pies, mulled wine, festive chocolate and a jug of milk really set the tone for our stay. All the cottages have been renovated to a high standard with quality fixtures & fittings and attention to detail. The highlights of the Old Farmhouse were the garden room with its panoramic views over the local countryside and its spacious enclosed garden with hot tub. The dining room was very spacious and easily accommodated 14 for meals. Similarly, the kitchen was big enough to easily cater for 14 and was very well equipped. Some reviewers have made negative comments about the location and the mobile phone signal but you only have to look its location on a map to realise that it will live up to its name as a country retreat. The countryside is hilly so the mobile signal will be poor and also, the roads narrow, non of those things are Westhope's fault. The owners and staff were not intrusive but always available if needed. For us, the many and varied walks from the doorstep were a major bonus. The WiFI in the Old Farmhouse was sometimes poor when a lot of people tried to use it at once. Overall, an excellent cottage for our Christmas break, our only criticisms would be that the beds were a bit hard and some of the lounge chairs a bit low for our old bones.

Had a great weekend break - 9 adults & 2 toddlers. Fabulous sized kitchen lounge & dining room all well equipped with plenty of seating for all & super warm. 12 of us stayed at the old farmhouse for my moms 80th birthday and we had the best time , the farmhouse is so lovely with plenty of room for all of us, on arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, homemade cake and all the essentials, the team who managed the booking were fantastic , keeping us up to date with information for our break , the hot tub is such a bonus and the location is perfect if you want relaxing , we travelled to Shrewsbury town which took 40 minutes. The games room is an added bonus too. I will certainly be recommending this property.

Thank you to everyone at Westhope for making our Fathers 70th birthday celebrations so special. The cottages were perfect and so cosy. We were so pleased with the facilities and the whole family (ages from 9-70) had the best time ever. We made memories that will last a life time.

Had a week here with our children and grandchildren. They had the house whilst we were in the donkey shed. The accommodation was great and level of equipment very good. We felt quite separate from the units in the other old farm buildings.
The views were lovely from the terrace.
The week was very hot which with the large sitting room extension windows made made that room uncomfortable in the afternoon but the other rooms in the old part of the building were nice and cool. The donkey shed was comfortable though be aware the shower/loo is a small wet room with electric shower. This wasn’t a problem as we showered in the main house and the week was hot and dry for the short walk across.
Only problem was early on the internet was very intermittent. Chloe the manager was on to this very promptly and within 24hrs or so it worked fine for what we needed. She kindly did not charge us for topping up our electric car using an extension lead from the house, by way of compensation.
We stayed in a similar property not far away last year and, mainly perhaps due to Chloe’s attention to problems, we preferred the Old Farm House.

A beautiful large house with excellent facilities. Our party of 11 included 2 teenagers, a toddler, a baby, a disabled man and 3 dogs. The house catered for all our needs. The teenagers loved the games room and hot tub, the little ones and dogs loved the large garden and the downstairs bedroom with wet room was ideal for the disabled man. House is very clean and well equipped. Spent a wonderful relaxing week here and would highly recommend.

As a surprise 50th I took 13 guest, to celebrate. I wished I could have booked it for longer as every one said what a stunning, relaxing place. The house is stunning with plenty of room so we didn't feel on top of each other. Very clean. The owners even posted back items that guest had forgot. We will certainly be arranging to go back.

The old Farmhouse is a great building and plenty big enough for the 13 of us that went to celebrate an 80th family birthday. The gorgeous scenery, lovely secluded garden with a hot tub was definately a bonus.
Unfortunately we had a few niggles which put a slight dampener on things bearing in mind this is not a cheap holiday.
1) One arm chair was dangerous as one of the legs was broken.
2) There were leaks from the showers in family bathroom and one en suite- one of which leaked down through the ceiling into the dining room. I might add that it appears from the black and wet mould around the sealant areas concerned that this has been an ongoing issue where perhaps a quick fix was done. In reality th areas concerned need to be thoroughly re- grouted/sealed and given enough time to dry before used again.

Although it was a nice touch leaving a welcome cake and bottle of wine, this was let down by things such as:
3) only one spare bin liner and
4) not enough toilet rolls which meant having to make a special trip to the supermarket to get more.

5) The dining table and coffee table are beautiful wood and I would suggest that more coasters and place mats are provided and put somewhere appropriate to encourage their use. We had trouble locating them.

6) The games room was of interest until we found that the pool table didnt function properly, the cues were not good and there was no chalk and the white ball if potted in error wouldnt come back up.
7) Also the miniature pool table had an array of different size balls, but some were missing. This miniature pool table was not useable because it was not level and the balls rilled to one side. We did try to level the table with wedges but couldnt manage it.
8) Table tennis was not possible on day one as the only ball we found was damaged and didnt work. Luckily Fiona from the agency had some spare bats and balls in her car when she came round on Saturday. I suggested that perhaps they be labelled up to be brought aback to the Farmhouse and kept there . It does seem that all the games and toys in the games room are just thrown together and all over the place and incomplete sets like with pieces missing e.g.chess etc. (I do appreciate that families with small children are possibly going to cause a few problems here if the parents are not supervising them all the time). The gymnasium was a bonus for those that would use it, so no complaints there.

9) Finally we all thought vacating by 9.30 was very difficult, bearing in mind we had to leave the property as we found it and even strip the beds. I understand the cleaners need time to get ready for next incoming holiday makers, but surely 10.30 could be managed.
I realise that this review is very critical, but it is in a bid to help the owners to make few cheap and simple changes/ repairs which would help future holiday makers have a smoother break and be more likely to recommend in the future.

We did have a great time and the Old Farmhouse gave us the space for the whole family to get together to celebrate so thank you very much.

We filled the Farmhouse with family for the weekend and it was perfect for our needs, even with inclement weather there was plenty of space for everyone indoors. The farm house had everything you needed, Hot tub was well utilised, Children had plenty of space to play in the enclosed garden, we took 4 large cars & they all fitted in our parking area without a problem, nice touch to get a bottle of wine, home made cake, chocolate & fresh milk on arrival, great property for a big group, clean tidy & well maintained

The garden and views are outstanding. The cake and wine on arrival were very welcome. We had some lovely local walks and afterwards enjoyed the hot tub. The Farmhouse was comfortable but perhaps the kitchen needs some updating. ....
Things to consider: large salad bowls, water jugs, a knife sharpener or sharper knives ..more than one chopping boards.

We had a great time with 3 generations. Lovely space and situation.
Could have used bigger pans and wooden/silicon spoons in the kitchen. One of the fridge shelves were broken and a couple of other things needed attention in a house that is obviously very much enjoyed. No blinds in the beautiful living room which made watching the TV difficult when sunny.

We had a fabulous stay at the old farmhouse and could not have asked for better weather too. The space was great and perfect for what we needed with lots of outdoor space too. The outside annexe was also perfect. Staff were fabulous and very helpful and friendly.
A couple of things to improve our stay would have been a kitchen door that stayed shut. With small fast dogs and a toddler it was difficult when going in and out. ( I also think this door would work well as stable door as it could be kept shut but also benefit from the light coming in from the porch). Another small thing would be the door leading into the downstairs bedroom area off the kitchen did not stay shut either.
Another thing also to consider is that 9.30 is too early to leave on the day of departure. Getting 12 people breakfast and clearing up was quite stressful.
A bigger toaster too would help at breakfast time.
I wonder if it might also be worth setting a time for when the hot tub is checked as again with small fast dogs the gate was left open and it was a little worrying. Having an allotted time might help us prepare and keep the furry guests safe.
Overall a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend to others- in fact already have.
P.S. some additional wooden loungers with cushions in the garden would be a good idea too especially as the weather was so beautiful.

Really good break. Plenty of good facilities , loads of space . Good supply of utensils and great setting. Only slight negative would be the low slung settees..! But more than made up for with the lovely Victoria sponge cake...thank you !

We had a wonderful time, great facilities and very peaceful. Bifold doors did cause a problem, in that four guests all walked into them despite being aware of the issue and two birds were also badly stunned. Rooms and hot tub all clean and the property had a lovely decor.

There were 12 of us in our family group with ages ranging from 7 to 77 years old; 7 adults and 5 children. Before we went on holiday we knew nothing about the area but after a week in Westhope we had, individually and together, explored the many exhilarating walks in the hills, run in the local area, visited a castle, Stokesay Castle, had a day out at Park Hall Farm near Oswestry which the children in particular enjoyed with its wide variety of rides and things to see and do, visited Shrewsbury and taken the river trip, gone on the Dudley Canal and enjoyed the excellent hot tub at the Old Farmhouse itself. This latter was a great favourite with all the family. We relaxed in the lovely garden and in the large and comfortable family sitting room and several more energetic members of the groups used the gym facilities.

On our last night we took advantage of the dark sky to view the stars, something that is not possible in our light polluted normal lives.

All in all I would say this holiday house, in this part of Shropshire is perfect for a family holiday. The kitchen was large and well equipped and the accommodation was comfortable. The welcome pack of wine and a delicious Victoria Sponge was well received.

We all enjoyed our weekend stay at old farmhouse which is spacious and full of character. The living room is bright and big with plenty of seating and underfloor heating. Bedroom and bathroom layout good (but would have liked another twin or zip n link instead of double). Beds all comfy.
Garden is lovely and we’d like to come back in Summer to appreciate sitting outside in garden. We saw a fox in garden one morning. The donkey shed was comfy and perfect for a bit of quiet!
Weather wasn’t great for our stay but we visited Stokesay castle and did a walk in the snow up hill to tower plus did an escape room at Shrewsbury.
We would definitely return.

We celebrated our mother's 60th birthday here and had a great time. The property has a great layout and we all enjoyed the hot tub. The staff we spoke to were also very polite and friendly. The property was well equipped, an ideal layout for everyone including the dogs and young children. The games room was great, even though it was shared we didn't see many people and it was lovely being in the countryside. The home made cake was a very nice touch and much appreciated.
You need to be aware that the property is very remote (not the owners fault) so it is a very walk to a local pub or town (we didnt do it as too far with young children).
Suggestions from improvemenrt are that the hot tub wasn't warm on arrival and the wi-fi isn't the best if your staying in the building at the bottom of the garden (an idea for improvement could be to put some more wi fi extenders in).
There were also a few cobwebs around the property. The check in and out times could also be looked at, as it felt like the 4pm check in was quite late (especially when your on holiday and you just want to get in) and the 9.30am check out could be increased to at least 10am to make it less stressful. Of course its understandable that cleaners need to attend, but when the check in time for other guests is 4pm then that's 6.5 hours to clean.
Lastly the hot tub could do with being turned 45 degrees so that the back of the hot tub is facing the cottage, to allow you to see the lovely views from the mountains. Currently when the cover is off, this blocks your view. Again this is only a suggestion.
Overall, we would recommend the property but sadly we wouldnt stay again due to the remoteness. However, we really enjoyed our stay and would like to thank the staff for their friendliness. Thanks for helping us to have a great time.

Fantastic long weekend spent with family celebrating twins18th birthdays. The accommodation was immaculate and gorgeous surroundings with a particularly great view from the conservatory. The hot tub was a great asset as we were staying during a colder weekend. We had a minor issue with the hot tub and a member of staff was there promptly to resolve this. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

We had been looking for a place that would be suitable for a baby, a couple of teenagers, a few adults and a person in her 80s. This place was perfect. The donkey shed provided a quiet retreat for my niece with her baby. The games room kept the teenagers happy, the hot relaxed the adults and the TV and comfy sofas were perfect for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped, and the bathrooms were clean with good showers. The photos of the farmhouse are a true reflection of its standard. I can't recommend this place enough. We had a weekend to remember.

What a perfect sport for a getaway with a group of friends. The house was spacious in all areas. Too many places have a cramped lounge, kitchen or dining area. The Old Farm House does not fall into this though, no space in the house felt cramped or too busy. Comfortable beds and enough of a combination for couples and singles. Perfect to beat the January blues, highly recommended and I look forward to returning some day.

Our stay at the Old Farm House was just perfect. We began the week with our children, grandchildren and other family members then after they left we were joined by friends - all to celebrate my husband’s retirement. Our total age span was 5 months to 84 and everyone loved where we were - the various bedrooms suited us perfectly and the downstairs of the house was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy quality time in each other’s company. The hot tub was very well used and it was lovely to be able to walk straight out from the house to explore the local lanes and footpaths. Cannot recommend highly enough for large gatherings in a luxurious home from home setting.

We were 3 families staying over New Year and property was perfect for us, well sized with lovely garden and hot tub and everything we needed for a fun and very comfortable stay, would definitely consider again for future visits.

Our only very minor gripe would be that the 09.30 departure time a little onerous, a bit later would allow for a more relaxed end to the stay, but we understand that's the owner's prerogative.

Fabulous accommodation with plenty of room inside. Beautiful garden and we loved the hot tub!

We meant to leave a note as the switch on the cooker hood will not turn off so the only way to switch hood off is via the main switch on the wall above it.

As a party if twelve we celebrated a 70th birthday. The Farmhouse was well proportioned and lots of room to spread around. The hot tub was a great success. There was most things we needed. Only things missing were a couple more baking trays. We had to use the pyrex dishes, which then left us with nothing to serve food in. This certainly didn't spoil a family celebrations and will definitely be returning. We used the direction on the website (Google maps) and took us straight to the farmhouse.

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage and will definitely come back it was perfect. The only gripes is that we would have liked to arrive earlier and left later, you need more pans for cooking for 12 people and somewhere to shelter while smoking but apart from those which are minimal really the stay was perfect. The accommodation was lovely. However the kitchen was lacking in equipment for the 12 people staying. No fruit bowl, a tiny tea pot. No roasting trays or cooking pots for the oven. No serving dishes.
The rules for the hot tub are excessive and the games room was deficient in all the balls for pool, table tennis bats etc.
The pillows were flat and listless. Shame because the location and property are great, just needs a bit of thought for how 12 people might use the house.

The farmhouse is a wonderful house with everything anyone would need for a break. The garden is exceptional and we were so lucky with the weather to appreciate it. The hot tub is great, even tried it one evening with all the different lights. There is a games room which was totally enjoyed by our youngsters and teenagers. The group of houses are very remote but lovely scenery. Ludlow and church stretton are not far, but you need to go in the car. Different walks around, and maps are left for you in the house. The owners have thought if everything.

The Old Farmhouse was the perfect place for our family (nine adults, one 2-yearold and a dog) holiday. With spacious accommodation, a large, safe garden and a peaceful, truly rural location, it was just what we required to have a relaxed, fun-filled week. We enjoyed walks in the surrounding countryside as well as visiting nearby towns such as Ludlow, Bridgnorth and Kidderminster. A trip on the Severn Valley Railway provided opportunities to enjoy the scenery on a steam-hauled vintage train.
Because of the lack of street lighting, the night sky when the clouds parted was spectacular. The hot tub was enjoyed on numerous occasions, and the historical nature of the building made for great games of sardines in the dark!
All in all, a wonderful, relaxing time.

What can i say, this venue was along with Troopers & Milking Parlour was an ideal spot to celebrate a milestone birthday with 34 other guests. All 3 properties were beautifully decorated, had big living rooms for us to gather in & large dinning areas to have breakfast and dinner. The outdoor space was equally beautiful. All properties had an outdoor hot-tub which were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. BBQ's outdoor furniture which allowed is all to dine together outside.

Just returned from a very relaxing holiday. There were 11 members of mixed ages in our party as well as 2 dogs. It was lovely to sit and relax in the beautiful, peaceful, well maintained and fully enclosed garden which was great for the dogs. It would have been nice if there were new, functioning sun loungers available to use.The hot tub was lovely and was checked everyday, but could have been bigger to accommodate 12 people . The kitchen was extremely large and spacious and was well equipped with utensils and crockery. Beds pillows and protective covers in the main house need upgrading desperately especially in the twin bedroom. The games room was good but advance notification that 50p are needed for the adult pool table would have been beneficial. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would like to thank Chloe and the team for their excellent customer service.

I booked for my Hen Do for myself and 11 others. The Farmhouse fitted us all very comfortable and is more than enough space and facilities. Everyone was absolutely wowed by the incredible house and beautiful gardens. The photos do not do this place justice! The garden is perfect for relaxing in and once ready, there is the hot tub too. The main bedroom is gorgeous and all the rooms have a very luxury feel to them. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well equipped.
The communication with the hosts was great! Compared to other weekend stays, The Farm house was incredible value and for 3 nights! The surrounding area is beautiful and a must for a sunset evening walk.
Although there are premises on site, they’re all very private and self contained.

Beautiful house which is very well equipped to cook and serve 12 people. The house was very clean in most places. The floors were spotless, linen and towels very good.
The welcome pack was lovely.
We needed extra towels for the hot tub which we had pre-empted. The hot tub was fantastic. The housekeeping checked it every day. However, the curfew was a tad excessive.
We had a serious problem with getting rid of our waste. On the Friday the bins were almost full. By Sunday morning the foxes had got into the bin which was already over filled and rubbish was littered over the bin and parking area. We cleaned it up . It happened again by Monday morning, we cleaned it up again and had to leave our rubbish in the hall of the house. This might have been due to lack of refuse service over a Bank Holiday weekend, but if this is the case I strongly recommend you have a safer holding area for rubbish. Incidently, we didn't overfil the bin, it was overfilled by others, which we then had to clean up, in an attempt to determine the fox. Not really a pleasurable holiday adventure!

Our only comment would be keys. We had 5 couples who went their separate ways during the day each having to take a back door key. We asked for spares and got 1. Others left Thursday we could not (we normally do) as no where to leave key. A key box at front would solve all this.

This is the perfect property to get all the family together. Very spacious with a large sunroom (cosy at night) where we could all congregate and a dining table to sit 12 so we could all eat together. Absolutely wonderful place to stay in the heart of rural Shropshire. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. Our party ranged in age from 1 to 97 but everyone found the right balance of comfort and entertainment. We were very fortunate with the weather so the kids were able to play safely all day in the garden and the grown ups could use the hot tub!

We’ll be staying again for sure, excellent value and just what we needed!

A group of 5 couples and 2 dogsstayed here for a long weekend and it was fantastic! Delayed from last year due to covid, but we had great communication throughout the whole booking (and rescheduling!) process. I've stayed in Troopers barn before and loved it too. The Old Farmhouse is slightly larger with a much larger garden. Clean throughout. Great provisions in terms of glasses, crockery etc. And such a lovely touch with a homemade cake and bottle of wine waiting for us. Slight issue with the boiler on arrival but quick response and it was all sorted.
And if anyone fancies really spoiling themselves we can also highly recommend Evatt and Bullock Co as a private chef. Completely separate from Westhope but worth a mention for anyone who fancies the treat....simply incredible food.
Thank you for another great stay!

From the moment we entered the old farmhouse, we forgot all the daily stresses and just relaxed. The house is such a lovely size/layout that you would struggle not too. The hot tub was used by all and a very good addition to the stay. All amenities have been thought of and cooking in the farmhouse was a delight. We used the huge table for family meals and didn’t waste the opportunity to learn how to play the piano. Our 4 legged friends loved the garden as well as ourselves. The staff on site we fantastic and even out of hours when the wifi wasn’t at its best they were helpful and friendly-quick to fix any issues. Fantastic stay all in all. Definitely recommending to our friends and hope to return very soon. Thanks for such a relaxing/fun/memorable stay! X

We came for my sisters hen do, her request was comfort and relaxing and its definitely what was provided. The views are incredible, the cottage had everything you needed, staff were very attentive and polite. It really was a lovely stay.

There was a bit of a foul smell in the kitchen from the day we arrived, not sure whether it was poor drainage or something under the fridges as we couldnt find it, but upon departure a cleaner approached us, apologised prefusely and said she would take a look for the next guests. Some members of the group also got told off by a lady (said she was the mother-in-law) for getting lost on a walk and ending up on the farm/fields which was an accident and are sorry for, no one meant to cause any upset.

Overall, the stay was wonderful, everyone complimented the cottage and all 10 of us would recommend to anyone. Thank you to Marianne and her team for providing this, it was amazing!

What a great place to spend a family weekend away (3 nights) (11 Adults and a baby) , couldn't fault anything. The customer service before hand and after was excellent and helpful. Homemade cake on arrival , was a great touch
The Farmhouse itself had everything we needed for our large group, rooms were clean and tidy, beds were comfortable, had three great nights sleep.
The lounge, was a great cozy place for us all to congregate, the bi-fold doors opening to a fanastic open space, and of course the hot tub which was used everyday.

A super holiday with family. Large lounge with lots of natural light overlooking a beautiful garden. Excellent weather meant we sat out on patios a lot and made use of the hot tub.
All bedrooms had comfy beds and due to rural location of the house it was very quiet.
Lack of light pollution at night resulted in some amazing star gazing.
Any issues we had were handled quickly.
All in all a lovely family holiday.

Spent a week enjoying the Shropshire and English sunshine. Accommodation is large and comfortable, the garden is peaceful and relaxing, as is the hot tub. Daily checks through the week on hot tub, staff were pleasant and friendly. Only had need for one query which was answered promptly and efficiently over the weekend. Located in a rural valley with little light pollution produced sparkly starring nights. Being in a valley all walks started uphill but plenty of fields and woods surround the property. Situated a couple of miles up a narrow country lane, while plenty of spots to pass oncoming traffic could be a little scary for less confident drivers. Addition of games room and small gym was a nice extra. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean ,well equipped , beautiful garden we enjoyed the hot tub. Plenty of room for the whole family the cake and wine was a nice touch enjoyed both, we would stay again if in the area.

This is truly a very superior property with its own very large garden and hot tub.The only minor point I would make is about the general maintenance.Two spot lights in one bathroom were out,a bedroom door would not close properly and a shower raise broken in another bathroom.

I booked the farmhouse for myself, my husband and my sister's family. The farmhouse was beautiful with plenty of space, but I was disappointed that the bed in the donkey shed was broken. This meant that my sister and husband had to have a room in the main house, which was fine, had Sykes got the information right, rather than saying that the four poster bedroom had an en-suite? I note that this has now been amended. Two ensuite bedrooms and only one bathroom for 7 adults and 2 children was not suitable for our configuration. Apart from this, the farmhouse was stunning and the beautiful large garden was great for the children to play in whilst some of the adults enjoyed the hot tub!

The farm house was very warm, comfortable and well equipped. It was in a lovely rural location with lots of good walks and cycle rides, as well as other places to visit not far away. The owner was very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay!

My family enjoyed a real getaway in the Old Farm House. The property was ideal and we enjoyed dining by a roaring fire on the chilly evenings. A perfect place for families to congregate or for groups of explorers / walkers / cyclists for the stunning surroundings.

Our family group ranging from 75 years to 22 months had a lovely week at Westhope.
The children had great fun playing in the outdoor space which was very safe for them..The facilities were excellent and there was plenty of space for everyone.
Really enjoyed the hot tub and meet and greet with the alpacas.

We had a lovely stay celebrating my sisters 40th birthday. There was plenty of room for all of us and the farm house and gardens were just stunning. Marianne and Chloe and the team were so helpful, making sure everything was just so for our stay. We loved every second even in these strange times there is plenty to do outdoors in the nearby countryside and to be honest we just loved being the huge garden spending time together again. The house was ultra clean and Westhope have taken all steps to ensure safety during our stay. We will definitely be rebooking again. It is a little off the beaten track but that adds to the charm of the location.

We were looking for a comfortable place where we could celebrate several significant family birthdays together. We were a party of 8 adults and 3 children (aged 5, 3 and 16 months) and found the farmhouse spacious with plenty of room for the children to run/crawl around without getting under the feet of the adults. The sunny lounge was delightful with a beautiful view of the garden and there was plenty of space for the older children to let off some steam outside whilst being gently supervised. We received a friendly greeting on arrival and found the kitchen very well equipped for cooking meals, the bedrooms were comfortable and the hot tub great for relaxing in in the evening. It’s in a beautiful rural location with easy access to lots of walks and definitely a place we would return to again. Delightful.

Wi fi not good kept dropping in and out and this did include the tv signal . When spending this sort of money on a house it should have good wi fi in all rooms . Also some of the quilts, pillows and towels need replacing . The Christmas tree looked was very sad on arrival and should have really been replaced .
Cleaners need to pull out sofas in lounge and clean under lots of dust under them also we found a pair of boxer shorts down the side of one of the beds !
Also a speaker of some sort needed in the house to play music through . Xmas tree lights in the dining room didn’t work .

Beautiful clean house ,. Beds are all so comfortable, fab hot tub, just a wonderful place, we just could not fault a thing, we had a friends Christmas get together, loads of home made mince pies waiting for us with some mulled wine, lovely touch. We just absolutely loved every second there.

This was our 5th trip to Westhope and 3rd in The Old Farm House for a family pre-Xmas meet up-10 adults and 2dogs.. The property is fabulous with plenty of room for everyone and a great big living room and separate kitchen. This years present on the dining room table was a big plate of mince pies with a bottle of mulled wine. The house had been decorated for Christmas as had all the barns as looked gorgeous.It was wonderfully warm throughout and came with WiFi (essential with the young ones) and a gym-although no one used it this year.
The house is great and works well for a big group reunion. Must be fabulous in summer as has a lovely garden with a etc. There is also a hot tub used by half of the group.
A good weekend all round

Excellent location far enough from civilisation to just chill and take in the countryside and close enough to local amenities (Pubs) and local towns.
Great place for a large group of people and of course other establishments on site for those smaller groups of people.

The accommodation was everything the website indicated. Overall we enjoyed The Old Farmhouse, and in particular our Grandson enjoyed the Hot Tub & Garden.
The Barbeque was not fit for purpose as it has a large hole where the charcoals are placed.
The paved area needed weeding.
The picture of the garden shows very nice garden furniture, there were only two chairs no table or sofa, the sunbeds were also no where to be seen, there were 2 lightweight sunbeds, we didn't use them as they were unstable.
If there was a Shop & pub 3 miles away we must have missed it as the nearest one we saw was 4.3 miles.

We would highly recommend the old farmhouse following our long weekend spent there. Upon arrival we were greeted with a freshly baked cake and shown around by the hosts with everything explained. The cottage is surprisingly large and has a hidden gem of an outhouse tucked away in the garden. We stayed for 4 nights celebrating a 30th birthday and had an amazing time. Would highly recommend this place and would definitely return again!

We have just come back from the most fabulous break at the Old Farmhouse for a 70th surprise birthday celebration.
We have stayed in many places before but this was by FAR the best!
We were a family of 12 and it offered plenty of space and had more than everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was amazing and the kids loved it!

We were only 15mins from Cardingmill Valley in Churxh Stretton which was a great day out. Also, the alpaca walking (located opposite the farmhouse) was the most fantastic experience.

We will definitely be returning...hopefully for a two week summer break next time. Thank you...you really made our mum’s birthday one to remember forever :-)

12 of us spent the weekend here celebrating a 50th. When we arrived there was a welcome cake and bottle of wine, plenty of tea, coffee and milk so we immediately put the kettle on! The house is beautiful, the front room that looks out onto the garden is a lovely room to relax and socialize in and the garden is a great size. We took two dogs which is a bonus as many places refuse. We made great use of the hot tub and we went on some lovely walks in the area

The photos of the cottage are good but in real life it has that wow factor. Cosy but also big, has everything you need for big meals, social time and would be very good for a family break. The design was lovely and the host was very good at informing me of all instructions for the house. The alpacas out the front of the cottages are very cute and the gym and the games room is a great touch to have for extra entertainment. I would definitely stay here again with my family. We visited Hencote vineyard half an hour away in Shrewsbury for a tour and tasting which was really fun, informative and as a new place it was impressive.
