We loved our stay at The Dairy, the cottage was comfortable, supremely well equipped and clean. Most of all there was a warm welcome from the owners Peter and Alexandra, it was a pleasure chatting to them and learning the history of the estate.

The dog paddock was great, especially sitting up by the stream passing the time.

We cant wait to return to this 5* accommodation.

Not our first time staying here, and as usual from hosts Alex and Peter absolutely made our stay here perfect and relaxing . Lovely setting and surrounding area. Brilliant for our dog and plenty of local walks. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The Dairy is very well presented. Beautifully clean & the owners are very welcoming, without being intrusive in any way. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet break away without being very far from Brecon. Plenty of good walks nearby.

We have just returned from a short 3 night break at 'The Dairy' What a wonderful place! It was just perfect, spotlessly clean, tastefully finished with lots of lovely little eclectic pieces dotted around to add to the feel of the place. Just perfect. We booked this as we wanted to go for a short break away from the world of work and this just happened to pop up on Facebook.

After looking into it further I saw there was a small slot available for The Dairy and read all the lovely reviews. The comments about the garden were really positive and rightly so, it is just amazing! Our dog thought she was in heaven and so did we. Absolutely huge, fully secure and so peaceful just listening to the birds. The owner is on site but is very unobtrusive but you knew if there were any problems he would be happy to help straight away. Would not hesitate to recommend this piece of paradise, it is an absolute joy and credit to the owners. A huge thank you.

So good we've already rebooked to return in August. Once inside the door of the Dairy you immediately relax. Everything you could want in a cottage was provided along with some personal touches from Peter and Alexandra.

nothing short of excellent , we had been on more than one occasion, we love the cosy cottage feel very high standard of accommodation , quite and very well equipped, buetiful location within walking distance of pen-y-fan , good local pubs.

Returned after staying here last year in The Laundry. The Dairy is very comfortable & we liked the ‘cow’ related pictures/items. Lovely clean bedding & likewise with the towels. Nice to find decent sized bath towels to use. The garden is massive & lovely to sit out there. The overall cleanliness was great regarding kitchen, bathroom & in general. Although, lacked attention to detail as certainly the wooden slatted blinds & light fittings/lamps need an autumn clean. Quite a few cobwebs & spiders which we didn’t have on our previous visit to the Laundry. On the plus, Lovely fresh flowers, & milk to make a cuppa & welsh cakes was most welcome on our arrival. The only minor thing was no usb ports. So essential to bring adaptors. The field is a massive bonus & lovely to walk in & enjoy the views. Overall we had an excellent stay & would stay again.

Peter made us feel welcomed and showed us where everything is and what is available to do in the area. The Dairy was cosy and well equipped. Our 3 dogs enjoyed the run of the garden. We will certainly be back again as we throughly enjoyed our stay.

This is our 4th time that we have been to the cottage and once again it was an excellent holiday. The accommodation was very good, as usual, with a very large private garden and a further very large exercise area for our two dogs. Can’t fault it !

We had a great break here. Beautiful old building with lovely grounds, perfect for dog owners. Field a bonus for dog walks. Also car charging point sealed the deal for us.

Ty Mawr Collection is in a lovely small village, the scenery is stunning, as is the accommodation. We stayed at “The Dairy” which has the bonus of a private beautiful tranquil garden. Love this site so much we regularly visit twice a year.

The Dairy, is a beautiful little cottage with a huge garden ideal for sitting out in this glorious weather we’re having. Our dog loved the garden, squirrel watching and listening to the birds! The Dairy is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. We have already booked for 2024!

The cottage was beautifully decorated with such attention to detail. Everything had been thought of kitchen was wonderful plenty of cups etc. The bathroom and bedroom were perfect large super king bed great shower and large bath
The large garden which was perfect for our dog Murphy completely safe and closed off. The extra bonus of the large field behind the property made it extra special. Would definitely return

Ty Mawr collection is in a excellent location for exploring the Brecon Beacons, Monmouthshire, Herefordshire. Very close to Brecon to buy provisions
Recommend the 3 horseshoes, Groesffordd for food, booking essential
We stay in many premier cottages self catering throughout the UK, and the standard at Ty Mawr is the best. The wet room is superb, equipped to the highest standard
Great place to bring a dog as there is a lovely, safe park for them to exercise on site
Very close to lovely canal walks, you can walk to Brecon via canal
Abergavenny is a lovely town & the people are exceptionally friendly
This is our 3rd visit and we will return next year

it was our first visit to these cottages and it certainly lived up to the previous reviews.The accommodation was outstanding, especially the bedroom and bathroom which is probably better than a lot of posh hotel bathrooms!
The large enclosed garden behind The Dairy was such a bonus for both ourselves and our dog and was completley private.
The cottages are in a location well situated for walkers being close to the canal and waterfalls and Pen y Fan. Beautiful scenery and a really relaxing weekend break.

We have stayed in this cottage three times and it never disappoints , its always clean has a lovely bathroom, and a lovely
private garden,the cottage is situated in a private estate which has a private off road car park.Brecon is a5 mille walk or a 10 minute drive.Its one of the nicest cottages we stay in.

We have stayed here many times at the Laundry ( which is again a stunning cottage) but we decided to move to the the Dairy as it’s got a very big private garden so our dog can have a bigger area to run around in ( he love’s it ) and the cottage itself is stunning again 5 stars we have already booked for two weeks again for 2023 at the Dairy and will also be booking for 2024 it’s like a home from home for us , we are already looking forward to our stays at the Dairy in 2023 .

This was our first return visit and just as enjoyable and relaxing as before. Just spent a whole week at the the dairy with our 2-year-old and a dog, the cottage was very clean and well equipped, it also has heated floors both downstairs and upstairs which was very nice in this cold weather, there’s also a log burner in the living room if you want to use it. The bathroom was nicely done up, it’s very big with a modern wetroom and bath. We also had a very big private enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog. There is nothing much in walking distance near the cottage itself, but that’s why it is so quiet and ideal if you want a relaxing holiday, you can reach town within a few minutes in the car and a few supermarkets do do delivery to the cottage. The owners live onsite but they just left us to it and really respected our privacy, but also they are there if you need anything. Highly recommend to people who is looking for a luxury holiday cottage which is dog and family friendly.

Loved our short break at The Dairy but think the dogs loved it even more! The property itself has everything you could hope for, from the high quality of the interior and furnishings to the character and general feel of the building and surroundings. Best of all, particularly for our two dogs, is the huge garden which is fully enclosed, safe and beautiful and also the enormous field within the grounds of the estate with the stunning backdrop of the local scenery. Will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends and family. So glad we found this place!

Enjoyed a great stay at the Diary, what is exceptional about the TyMawr collection of cottages is how well they are equipped, providing great quality kitchen appliances, kitchen utensils, cutlery & crockery.
The Diary also has a beautiful garden which is great for pooches and their owners, have booked again for next year!
Just a couple of miles from Brecon town, it provides great access to lots of lovely towns & visitor attractions within a short drive

The Dairy is a perfect holiday cottage. Upstairs is like a luxury hotel suite and the huge garden was a dream….especially for our dog. The Dairy sets the standard by which we will measure any all future holiday cottage rentals. We hope to be back again very soon.

The Dairy was an excellent find. The specification of the cottage was the best we've ever been to. There was plenty of space for the two of us and our dog in the property and the garden was superb. Not to mention the use of the field. Peter, our host, was very accommodating, and was on hand if we needed him - without being obstrusive. We have already booked for next year and looking forward to our second visit.

The attention to detail in this beautiful property is second to none. So may thoughtful touches the fresh flowers, access to a beautiful park and a wonderfully equipped kitchen the bathroom is stunning. We choose the Dairy for the outside space the walled garden was the best dog playground it really is special.
The Dairy is 5star luxury in the beautiful Breacon Beacons so much to see in the area and lovely walks for all abilities we especially enjoyed walks along the canal path.

As always, we had another lovely break at Ty Mawr Cottages. We usually book the Laundry so this is the first time we have stayed at the Dairy. Spotlessly clean with lovely welcoming touches of fresh flowers. The dog really loved the huge garden. Lots of lovely walks in Waterfall country and the along the Brecon canal. The weather also stayed fine!!

Well equipped kitchen alot of thought has gone into what is needed. Made self catering very easy. Loved the nespresso machine. Bathroom excellent and everywhere very clean. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and made to feel at home. The grounds at Ty Mawr were very well kept, ample of parking and even a hose at the ready to wash your dog/shoes after a walk should you need it.
The dairy was very well equipped, cosy, nice and modern but kept its character as a cottage. The garden was the highlight for our springer as it was so big! The location was fantastic, very close to the river usk and the canal, lots of choices for pubs/restaurants, and close to the town Brecon. Pen Y fan was also just a short drive away. Overall we had a fantastic time and couldn’t recommend Ty Mawr cottages enough, in particular the dairy. Thankyou

Absolutely loved our stay - wished we’d booked for longer! The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was big and spacious with a great shower, and the kitchen was really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. A really perfect place for exploring the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. The large private garden was the real attraction of this cottage over all the others, and it really was so handy to have for our dog. Shame there wasn’t a BBQ provided, as was the perfect spot for dining alfresco.

Our 4th time at Ty Mawr, 1st time in the Dairy. It did not disappoint. Cottage beautifully decorated and exceptionally well equipped. The garden was fantastic with plenty of wildlife, our dog thought he was in dog heaven. He also loved the long grass in the park behind the cottages and we were confident in the knowledge that it was secure for him to run as wild as he liked. Peter and Alexandra were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend Ty Mawr to dog lovers, those who want a peaceful relaxing holiday and adventurers. I had my dog with me so she loved the big garden and wonderful buttercup meadow on the estate. The kitchen was very well equipped which we appreciated. The fresh flowers really looked pretty. On an evening the Diary with stone flags was cool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. The only snag was that the WIfi signal was unstable but suspect if are living rural that is inevitable. Thank you hosts

Its the second time we have stayed in the dairy, the first was on our honeymoon.
We love the attention to detail, the beautiful location and the comfort away from home.
Our dogs love the huge garden attached to the dairy, the meadow a stones throw from the door, as well as all the walking through the brecons.
We hope to visit again soon.

This is the third of these cottages we have stayed in and for the dog’s it was the best property - huge safe enclosed garden and ‘ ‘outhouse’ area for wiping them down. For us humans although the bed is huge and gorgeous- the settee is very uncomfortable and initially for two days we were very cold, despite the log burner. We would chose ‘the laundry’ for the best for dogs and humans. (‘The cottage’ is the best for humans, floors too slippery for dogs and there is no enclosed garden).
We would definitely come back but not to this particular cottage.

We had a fantastic stay , the added bonus of the field to walk the dogs was awsome we did not expect this. Our host Peter was so helpful and very welcoming . The Dairy was fantastic with great attention to detail, very comfortable and cosy , the wood burner was just what we needed for our escape to the country , the Canal walks and pubs with great food rounded the whole week off .
The Dairy was everything we wanted it to be and so much more .
We will definitely be back .

We had a really lovely stay at The Dairy. It was a very much needed break this year and we certainly left with our batteries re-charged! The cottage was in a beautiful setting and we felt that we were very lucky having such a large private garden. As the weather wasn't very brilliant we thoroughly enjoyed lighting the log burner and curling up in the cosy lounge with a glass of wine.The cottage was presented to a very high standard in all areas with some beautiful accessories to enhance the stay. We felt Covid safe as we were completely separate from other people. The owners were available if we needed them but we were very much left to ourselves.
When the weather improved we visited Brecon, Hay on Wye, Talybont reservoir and Talybont on Usk, all of which are only a short distance away.We also enjoyed walking around the extensive grounds belonging to the cottages and explored the pretty local village of Llanfynach and surrounding countryside. Perfect!

Peter and Alexandra have been so friendly and helpful with re-arranging our stay from earlier in the year and the Dairy was a delight for both ourselves and the dogs. Already booked our return for next year!

We had a fantastic stay - the cottage was great, really tastefully furnished and great facilities all pristine. Our cocker poo loved the massive garden and huge private field with paths thoughtfully mowed. Beautiful area - we walked loads on the various sections of the canal. Shout out to the Royal Oak in pencelli great lunch and pint on our walk. Also loved Talybont and the Henry Vaughn walk. Would def go back, Peter, Alexandra and the staff obviously take great pride in the cottages and grounds. Thanks :)

This is our 4th stay at one of the Ty Mawr cottages and our 2nd stay in The Dairy. Everything about the experience, from booking on the website, to the confirmation, to the actual stay itself is always incredibly easy and enjoyable. Peter, the owner, is a pleasure and on hand for anything you need. The cottage is cosy and very well equipped for a self catering stay and the large, secure walled garden was just perfect for our two doggies to explore. The weather was kind for our weeks stay and we enjoyed several wonderful meals out at the Three Horseshoes in Groesfford. Just a shame the pub in the actual village of Llanfrynach has been closed for so long and shows no signs of reopening.
I can highly recommend any of the cottages for a perfect short or longer break.

Despite a few Covid related restrictions still in place for our week away, which have now been removed, we still had a great time exploring the mountains, rivers and forests with our two Spaniels. The Dairy was extremely comfortable, to the point where it was hard to get up in the mornings, and as a bolt hole to escape to and forget about what's going on in the world beyond, we really couldn't fault it - highly recommended!

A spotlessly clean home away from home with a well stocked kitchen and thoughtful touches. We really enjoyed our stay and our dog loved trotting around the walled garden too. The cottage is in a fantastic location with lots to do. We’re already planning our return trip!

Another amazing retreat to the Amazing Ty Mawr Cottages. Once again we have been totally satisfied with another week long visit, also a paws up from our two pooches. It’s an amazing place to have as a base for some incredible walks and some retail therapy too. Would highly recommend and will be returning again many times.

Perfect cottage for two and your furry friends. Having two newfoundlands, it can be quite difficult finding places for a relaxing break, but this was definitely it. Stone floors throughout the ground floor so easy to clean and they do like to sleep outside, so the covered area outside the sitting room was perfect. The enormous private garden was an added bonus. The cottage is beautifully furnished, the upstairs floor particularly impressive and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The weather was a little mixed, so the enclosed field/park was perfect for dog walks if you didn’t feel like exploring further around this wonderful part of Wales. Loved it and would highly recommend

The Cottage was extremely well presented, and outstandingly well equipped. A great feature was the very large garden which was dog friendly, and the field which made a pleasant short exercise area for the dogs. My only reservation was that the property was very dark internally with the only windows facing North, which was a pity, but no doubt restricted by being a listed building.

Some points of minor, but hopefully useful comment. First the sofa seat cushions overhung the edge of the sofa, which meant that they migrated off the sofa periodically. It would have been helpful if the starter food pack contained a few capsules for the Krupps coffee machine, which we found difficult to source in the first few days. An ordnance 50,000 map of the area would have been helpful - even if it was 'not to be removed from the Cottage'. A light in the garden would have been helpful to assist 'tidying up' - one torch and two dogs did not quite work.

We stayed here last year and normally don’t return to places as the second time is never as good as the first. We happily make an exception for Ty mawr....the cottage is perfect for us and our dogs, especially the garden!! . We will continue to return on a yearly basis, for us it is perfect in so many ways.

Stayed here for a week and we had a very good comfortable stay. Almost immediately we felt at home, created warmly by Peter the owner and the property had a very large private garden which was enclosed and perfect for our dogs to run around in. The cottage was tastefully decorated and equipped with all the essential items. Highly recommended and we will be returning for another relaxing stay.

An absolutely beautifully appointed cottage in a lovely quiet location. The Dairy is also in a great location for Brecon, the Brecon and Monmouth Canal, canoeing on the Wye, Hay on Wye, Llangorse Lake and all Brecon Beacons activities with walks from the front door.

This was our 3rd stay at Ty Mawr( our 2nd in The Dairy). The cottage is beautiful and has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The quality and attention to detail was second to none. We even had gorgeous fresh flowers on arrival and a few basics to get us started. It is so well equipped and has every type of utensil, pots and pans, crockery etc for a self catering holiday. The bedroom and bathroom are fabulous. So beautifully furnished and with quality fittings. The garden is huge too so it’s perfect for anyone with dogs. All in all a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

I have just returned from my second visit and it was just as I remembered; comfort, beauty and bliss!

The cottage is beautifully furnished, yet cozy and warm, and is well equipped with everything I needed so I only had to arrive with clothes and food.
The location is in easy reach of towns, and the most beautiful countryside. It's also so peaceful; ideal for days curled up with a book or resting the afternoon away.
Peter is on hand if needed, but not intrusive in anyway.

The perfect retreat from the noisy, demanding world.

We had a wonderful short early January break at The Dairy. During the booking process Peter was very helpful, as he was when we arrived.

The accommodation is stunning. Perfect size for a couple, and it is finished to a very high standard with lots of lovely little touches. Couldn’t ask for more.

Location is great as a base for exploring the local area, we did plenty of walking.

Overall we highly recommend Peter’s cottages and we will be back!

We received a warm welcome from the owners on arrival; with a comprehensive overview of the cottage, equipment and local area.
The Dairy cottage is within a court yard setting with its own private walled garden; a lovely place to relax and unwind.
The cottage is beautiful; good size accommodation for two people, flowing layout, quality furnishings throughout, excellent sized bathroom, well equipped kitchen with a lot of consideration and thought given to the everyday basic needs for cooking.

The surrounding area is stunning! Hills, lanes, tow paths, so lots of places to walk to from the cottage.
The village pub was closed due to refurbishment (a bit disappointing), but there is a pub beside the canal (walking distance) serving food and selection of beers.

Overall, an enjoyable, peaceful, relaxing holiday destination, with first class accommodation.
