The Laundry at Ty Mawr, was very tranquil and peaceful, just the tonic to recharge those batteries.
The property was old but had a all modern appliances and tastefully decorated. The exposed beams and slate flooring gave the property plenty of character whilst the underfloor heating gave it warmth. The fresh flowers were beautiful and well presented.
Local places to eat were excellent, especially Sunday Lunch @ The Three Horseshoes Inn.
Our only slight problem were the several wasps that seem to appear from nowhere, given the time of year (November) and the country location it is completely understandable.

The scores represent our views. The accommodation was furnished to a very high standard and extremely well equipped.

It was situated in a peaceful location, with plenty of parking. In addition we had a pretty garden.

We have just spent 2 weeks at The Laundry. It is a lovely property. Clean, comfortable and has every thing you need. Secure garden for our dogs. The added bonus of the field which was also completely secure helped to make our stay stress free and incredibly relaxing. I made use of the on site treatment centre for a very relaxing massage. I recommend you book before arriving for any treatment as the lovely lady who runs this does get very busy. The owners were friendly and approachable and give excellent recommendations for eating places. We have 2 breaks each year with our dogs and always go for 4 star or above. This was without a doubt the best we have stayed in for many years. Thankyou.

This was our 2nd trip to ‘The Laundry’. The single cottage is extremely clean, well decorated and super comfortable. The Kitchen is so well stocked… you will want for nothing!
There are plenty of towels, a very large bed and beautiful vanity unit. The bath and shower are not a disappointment!
The small garden is visited my so many birds and is a very pleasant setting for breakfast.
We have booked again for next year and would highly recommend booking for that cozy luxury break

We have stayed at Ty Mawr several times now and each time we have found the cottages very cosy, comfortable and quiet. This time it was The Laundry, in the rain, so we lit the wood burner and were soon toasty and relaxed. This cottage has a huge window overlooking a pretty garden which would be lovely in the summer. The kitchen , as ever, was extremely well equipped and clean, and the bathroom too. All the cottages are well furnished and attractive. My only complaint this time was the standard of the bed linen. The duvet was poor quality artificial fibres and the pillows again poor quality and uncomfortable. This hasn’t been the case when we have stayed here in other cottages but a new duvet and pillows are needed at The Laundry. However this didn’t spoil our overall experience and is easily remedied. We. will no doubt be back.

This is our 6th time at Ty Mawr over the last 8 years and we just keep coming back for more. This time we brought our entire family: grandparents, 4 grown up sons and respective partners as well as 3 dogs. Yet again Peter and Alexandra made everything perfect for our New Year break. We booked all 5 cottages and everyone had a brilliant time. Despite rain and wind, the cottages were warm and welcoming and the best spot to relax after a hard day walking Pen y Fan and Corn Du or Talybont reservoir.
We will most definitely be back!

This was our third annual visit to the Laundry and it did not fail to impress yet again. The location is amazing with lovely canal walks and lots of beautiful waterfalls to visit. We ate in local restaurants and the food was good. The cottage has every facility that you would need and the bed is exceptionally comfortable. A private garden to keep the dog safe and also to watch the birds from is an added bonus. That with a great log burner to light in the evenings makes it a perfect place to get away from it all. We will hopefully be back again next year..

The Laundry was more lovely than the amazing photos showed. The decor was in excellent condition and the unusual addition of ornaments and luxury fittings made this property a cut above the rest. Other reviewers weren’t wrong when they stated that the kitchen was well resourced! The fridge freezer was full size meaning that a week’s worth of groceries could be stored properly. The bath was huge which was certainly appreciated after a hard day’s hiking in the amazing mountains just a mile or so from the front door. A pub less than 2 miles away was welcome too and easily accessed on foot along quiet country lanes. Even though there are 5 properties on site here, you were never aware of the other guests. We loved it so much we have booked the same property for next summer and can’t wait to return.

The Laundry, such an exquisite cottage, in a beautiful, peaceful location! Just what we needed to unwind from our busy day to day lives. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The hosts were most welcoming and very helpful. We were lucky enough with the weather and enjoyed evenings sitting out in our private garden listening to the birds and occasional visit from the owners dogs. Canal walks from the door and mountain walks just 5-10 minute drive away, what more could you want - we will definitely return.

We stayed a week in the Laundry with our large dog - very nice accommodation with a small private garden but bonus was the large dog field which is totally enclosed and available for your dogs to run around in.

Accommodation ideal for two people open plan downstairs with log burner and large bedroom / bathroom upstairs.

We walked from the cottage along the canal into Brecon (4 miles although 1st mile is alonng roadside with no paths) where there are lovely coffee shpos etc. Several good walks only a short drive away. Bus runs from village to Brecon occassionally during the day.

The owners were lovely and very friendly - would certainly recomnend these cottages - we will be going back.

Wonderful accommodating hosts. High end cottage in a peaceful setting. We brought our 2 Yr old cockapoo and needless to say she enjoyed it too. With a lovely garden and paddock to play in, all safe and secure.
Cottage well set out and everything you would need, a proper home from home.
Comfortable super king-size bed and spacious bathroom.
There was a luxurious treatment room next door to The Laundry where I enjoyed a foot treatment with the very lovely Natasha, who fit me in without much notice.
The small touches like the beautiful fresh flowers, bathrobes and slippers were a lovely touch.
Will definitely be returning in the summer.

The Laundry is a lovely cottage with a lovely enclosed garden for the dogs. There is also a large 12 acre field that you can use. Peter the owner was very helpful showing us walks and places to eat when we first arrived. It was our first holiday to Brecon and we will definitely return.

Everything about the property was top notch! The kitchen was extremely well equipped (although the frying pans were not very non stick, my only tiny criticism!) The bedroom and bathroom were luxurious. We loved sitting out every evening with a cold beer, watching the birds on the feeder and then the bat's as night closed in (and on two nights an owl in the beautiful Cedar tree). We loved staying here so much we have already rebooked for a week in February.

Stayed a week at the Laundry Cottage exploring the area, with our two dogs. The well-kept meadow in front of Ty Mawr house is ideal for early morning and late evening short walks, where they can be safely off lead. The accommodation is to a high standard with all the facilities for a relaxing stay. Easy access to Brecon and the canal towpath walks from Ty Mawr. Worth seeing Brecon Mountain Railway, Dragonfly Narrow Boat Cruise, Llangors Lake, Tretower Court and Castle. If you like authentic Welsh Rarebit, try the ‘International Welsh Rarebit Centre’ at Defynnog. Small café tucked away in an old school house, very popular.

This is our second stay at Ty Mawr and it was just as perfect as the first one. The cottage was immaculate, inside and out, with all of the amenities that you could wish for.
We love the fact that we can walk our 2 dogs right from the doorstep - there’s no need to get into the car until it’s time to leave.

Another fantastic stay with in Llanfrynach with Peter and Alexandra. The seclusion is so relaxing and the dogs love the paddock as well as the walks in close proximity.
Also rated personally as the best equipped self catering accommodation with a knife sharpener, hand blender and salad spinner as standard!

Ty Mawr cottages are well equipped and most beautifully appointed , with panoramic backdrop views of The Beacons.
Extremely well maintained grounds , with excellent facility for dogs . The use of a large field proved helpful plus our cottage had a private enclosed garden.
Wonderful beauty therapist available on site.
Close to a very good gastro local pub in the next village.
With Brecon nearby offering restaurants and takeaways plus cafes and pubs .
We would certainly highly recommend this place , it’s very peaceful and the owners are most welcoming but unobtrusive.

This was our third stay at Ty Mawr and as before the standard was excellent. To be met with flowers , a delightful Christmas tree and a lovely warm cottage was a great start.The large field for our dog to run about in and even friendly owners dogs to meet all added to the experience .Unfortunately it rained all week so if in future Peter can fix the weather all would be perfect.

The Laundry was everything we expected and more. All the Ty Mawr Collection accommodation is first class, always spotless, all mod cons and a joy to stay in. It was our first time staying in The Laundry and we loved it. The private, enclosed garden was beautiful. Even in late October it was lovely to sit outside and watch the birds bobbing around and soak in the quiet. A perfect long weekend.

We chose The Laundry as our base for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a birthday. The place itself is very well, equipped, clean, comfortable and in a good location. This was our 2nd stay and it will most definitely will not be our last. Great location great hosts and just great lovely people of the Brecons. Our only moan is we found the mattress needing an upgrade but this did not detract from a lovely relaxing break.

As a returning customer we get to see and feel the consistency of the owners and area, and it just gets better at Ty Mawr! The Laundry is a beautiful cottage for two people and a dog. Finished to a high spec makes it comfortable to live and cook in. The weather was kind to us and with most COVID restrictions lifted we got out and about. Lots of walking and pub visits! The garden in the Laundry is perfect to sit in at the end of the day with a glass of wine or two. Thanks Peter and your team - much appreciated.

This is our 2nd stay at “The Laundry”
The fresh flowers in the hallway and bedroom, Welsh cakes and milk in the fridge are a lovely, thoughtful gesture.
Our dog was made to feel very welcome dog bowl and dog poo bin in the garden. He loves the garden, looking out for birds, squirrels and rabbits. It’s lovely to have a dog walking field that he can run wild in also.
The cottage is really well equipped, everything has been thought about! The kitchen has every utensil you can think of and more! Living room & bedroom very comfortable. We had a very relaxing stay, so peaceful!
Enjoyed lots of walks along the canal to Brecon, Pencelli and Talybont.
It’s lovely to have the option to book spa treatments during your stay also. We have booked for next year.

So nice to arrive and a cottage look like the pictures. Described just as is. My other half had not stayed in a cottage before and I have and been slightly let down by descriptions before. This was perfect, idyllic and a high standard .

We had a fab week as a couple with our dog.

The weather was fab and lots to do.

We will book again.

The owners have got it just right.

We stayed at the Laundry for 4 nights in November. When we arrived at the cottage, we were greeted by the owner, who was welcoming and explained everything we needed to know for our stay guiding us through the useful guide book they have prepared for guests.
The cottage is very well equipped, we had everything we needed including firefighters, matches, kindling and wood for the wood burner. The weather was very true to type for the this time of year in Wales, wet and a little cold.
The cottage itself has beautiful period features whilst still feeling clean and modern. We had our 3 year old cockapoo with us who loved the field on the land, plenty of room for her to run round and explore. There is also a small private garden, due to the weather, the dog had more use of this than us but was very handy to have as it allowed us just to let her out into the garden which she frequently asked for in the evening.
The location is perfect, a 5 minute drive into Brecon, the national park and plenty of other nice places are all within a short drive.
We had a lovely stay, we are likely to book again and would very much recommend this as a great base to explore Brecon.

We have had a superb week despite the weather (the rain was refreshing!). Our Cottage (The Laundry) was simply excellent in every respect. We couldn't have wished for more. Our dog (and us) loved the place with more walks than usual. The peace and quiet was very welcome. The condition and facilities were top-notch, everything catered for, and our visit to the three horses pub and the lovely food was spot-on (thanks to Boris for the discount which we gave to our waitress!!). After all the lock-ins, lock-downs and lock-ups due to COVID-19 it was great to get away, relax in beautiful surroundings and enjoy the scenery. We enjoyed the canel walks both ways and Brecon is a place we would love to visit again. We didn't want to leave, so to help our exit we booked again for next year. Thank You Peter and Your Team!!

The Ty Mawr cottages are an impressive collection of 5 cottages developed from an old farm estate. They are all beautifully done with individual characters and are an absolute pleasure to stay at.

The Laundry is one of their dog-friendly cottages and we took our dog which we don't always do. Too often cottages that are dog friendly are in fact rather soiled from their four legged visitors - but The Laundry is not. They charge an extra £20 for a dog but the extra cleanliness is appreciated and they also sensibly provide a water bowl in the garden and also poo bins. The garden is completely dog proof and there is a large paddock area that is also dog friendly and our boy loved galloping through the grasses out there.

But we humans loved the stay too. The garden was just so peaceful, you could sit out in the comfortable garden chairs and enjoy hearing the birds sing and relax. As others have said, the kitchen was very well equipped so for us just out of lockdown but with pubs still limited to outside seating, it was easy to cook whatever we wanted.

We will be back - but may sample one of the other cottages just for a change.

Stayed in 'The Laundry' with my wife for 3 nights. It was lovely. Very Spacious for 2, with a huge bedroom and lovely bathroom. Well equipped kitchen (they even had a steamer!). Nice big garden, and totally secure for our small dog. Clean and cosy throughout. First Class in our book, and we stay in quite a lot of this type of lodge/cottage.

This is an excellent property. However a couple of comments. The position of the TV to the sofa is not good. you have to turn your head to 90 degrees to watch the TV and perhaps some thought should be given to improving the situation. Freeview is provided which has a poor selection of programmes and consideration should be given to providing Sky.

The Laundry is a delightful country retreat, ideal for a couple with a dog. It is very private, well equipped and beautifully presented. As we visited in Autumn we especially enjoyed the log burner which made the cottage very cosy at night. The large picture window enabled you to look out at the trees and small enclosed garden which was perfectly safe for our dog. We liked the open plan kitchen and lounge which we thought was ideal for a couple. The kitchen was well kitted out. Upstairs the bedroom was a delight with a very comfy super king bed and an attractive en-suite bathroom. The lighting was well thought out and everything was very clean. Although all the other cottages were occupied we didn’t hear the other visitors at all making it very private, relaxing and quiet. There are larger grounds to exercise your dog and plenty of country walks in the area which is beautiful. The owner is discreet and very helpful. We really enjoyed our long weekend here and could easily have stayed for longer! Would have preferred an earlier check in and slightly later check out; 4pm and 10am is a little late and early. Otherwise everything was perfect.

We found the sofa a little uncomfortable for watching TV and the dining chairs could have been more in keeping with the

We stayed in the “Laundry”, the location is outstanding, very close to Brecon, 4 miles to Llangorse lake, fab walks along the tow paths on Brecon Monmouth canal, the Beacons, great pub The 3 horseshoes, Groesffordd for food, close by,booking a must. The Swan in Llanfrynach is currently closed, which is a pity as only a few steps from Ty Mawr. It’s planned to re-open
We loved the very well equipped kitchen, the large bedroom with super king bed, the luxury bathroom, the private garden, the onsite park where you can exercise the dog without having to travel in the car to find walks. The only slight downside is we found the settee uncomfortable,bit like sitting on jelly and it’s not configured very well to watch Tele. Frustratingly there is a lovely comfortable chair with footstool in the the large bedroom!
Peter was a great host, there if you need anything, but not in your face
Great place to visit with dogs, and active coupes who want to explore the beautiful area

Lovely to go a quality dog friendly property, often 1 beds are small but this was a great size with enough room for 2 adults and our 2 staffies. The Laundry had every conceivable kitchen acrutement, lovely large sofa in living room, and huge door leading out to private enclosed garden. Super king size bed and a gorgeous bathroom. To top it all the complex had a very large enclosed field where the dogs could run to their hearts content in safety. In a beautiful area with stunning views. Needless to say we will be back!

Had another gorgeous week in Ty Mawr cottages and we would love to come back again because the setting is perfect for relaxation and is in a good position to access the beauty that Brecon boasts. The last time we stayed at The Cottage, and the advantage over that one is definitely the beautiful private garden, especially as we had dogs with us- they loved the freedom and we loved the peace of mind. Meeting Griffin and Tudor was an extra bonus. The smell of roses and the sound of birds, greeted us every time we went out there, it was a beautiful experience.
We loved staying at the Laundry - the best bed and shower ever! - and thoroughly enjoyed my Indian Head massage by Natasha in the annex next door.

There were just a couple of VERY SMALL things I would recommend to make it perfect:
1) I enjoyed two delicious baths (most wonderful comfortable bath), but there are no cleaning products to clean it afterwards.
2) there were supposed to be fresh flowers on arrival but I requested no lilies (allergic to perfume) so I ended up with none at all, - it’s little touches like this that make it special.
3)I wanted to wash some clothes and there was no washing powder (in classic cottages (cheaper than these),in Devon, all these little things are always provided, along with bird seed so you can sit and watch them feed and a bottle of wine on arrival).
4)Something needs to be done to improve on the disposal of waste, you say you recycle but how are we supposed to recycle if there are no bins provided- walking everything across to the car park is a pain, and difficult to do without dropping things(managed to smash a bottle on my way over)- this was distressing as I was conscious of all the dogs around (don’t worry I cleaned it thoroughly)
As I said these are small but irritating things that I have come to expect in ‘luxury’ cottages - which these are on the whole.

This was our second visit. Beautifully presented property. They have everything you need to enjoy your stay. We enjoy cooking with local produce whilst we are there and I find the kitchen amazing, excellent pans, utensils etc. The log burner is amazing. We love the grounds and the garden is perfect to relax with the dogs. It's so peaceful and even when people are nearby in neighbouring cottages, you feel totally secluded. The village is very tranquil, perfect for walks and peace. We had a peek in the other cottages while we were there, and they are all beautiful! We will return again.

This is a lovely place/area to stay. Very welcoming from start to finish and the grounds the cottages are situated in are lovely. Lovely views and a great place to stay if you have dogs for walks. Would definitely recommend for a holiday.

The cottage and the estate are simply the best!
Our dog was safe and happy in the grounds. Just a beautiful cottage with all the mod cons.
It is a difficult short walk to the canal and to other walks if not wanting to use the car. Pubs also have to be driven to as the local one was closed.
We will go back.

We have stayed in several holiday cottages over the years and none have bettered the Laundry ! Everything has been well thought out and designed. The furniture and fittings are comfortable, cosy and of top quality. In addition the facilities for our dog, Nelson, (his own secure, private garden, lovely grounds to wander in and the profusion of poo bins) get a big paws up !

All in all we have had a wonderful time and will be happy to return again in the future. The only small frustration was that the White Swan was closed for renovation. If we had been able to walk there each evening for a pint and a chat it would have completed the perfect break.
