Monnington House, sleeps 12 in 6 spacious bedrooms with 6 bathrooms is available at certain times of the year without the use of Garden Cottage. Availability is usually during off peak times, mid week and last minute.
Monnington House is an award winning house which is beautiful and very comfortable. It has 6 large bedrooms all with hypnos superking zip and link beds and luxurious 400 count egyptian linen. This simple luxury allows you to rest and restore.
The kitchen is geared up for numbers and catering. There is an aga available during the winter months plus 2 electric ovens, 2 dishwashers and numerous fridge freezers. A huge working island is idea for gathering numbers where chopping and chatting can take place. The dining area seats 12 -18. There are plenty of pots and pans, glassware and crockery. Here catering is fun and easy.
There are three reception rooms being a snug, tv room and drawing room are all available for your use. Each has its own wood burner, comfy sofas and rugs and lots of books. There is plenty of space!
Monnington House is perfect for family groups celebrating a milestone birthdays or anniversaries or family and friends get togethers. There is so much to do on site and also within a 5 mile radius. Play in the huge 2 acre garden or kick a football in the playing field with 2 football goals. For rainy days and dark afternoons use the rustic table tennis room or the games room with pool table and table football in the outbuildings and dont forget to bring a fleece and trainers to keep you warm. Walk from the door and pick up one of the numerous walking trails including the Wye Valley Walk or drive over the bridge to Moccas Hill Wood and walk in the National Nature Reserve there - you will be not disappointed. Canoe or fish on the nearby Wye. Visit Hay on Wye, Hereford or Presteigne. Eat in one of the many gastro pubs nearby serving delicious local foodor walk to the Red Lion at Bredwardine which takes about an hour. It offers food during the summer months.
We have a great in house caterer who is authorised to work in the house. She is reasonably priced and can make your holiday away from home even more special. Arrangements to have home made italian food can be made. This is dropped off on Fridays and has to be preordered at least 7 days in advance.
