The property was a rural location with great views. It was extremely well equipped and very comfortable. We went to “The Barn restaurant nearby and enjoyed drinks and a meal. If you like quiet and rural this property is ideal. We had sunny weather so spent time outdoors which would have benefited from more relaxing chairs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The farmhouse was like a home from home, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of wood for the fires and hot tub. All bedrooms cosy. The whole house was well maintained and very clean. We had an issue with the heating but was fixed and up and running the same day.
The reason I have marked down value for money is purely because of the water being brown, we know it was safe to drink etc but one of the main reasons we booked this cottage was the bath tubs and hot tub with a view. We did fill the hot tub once but none of us enjoyed being sat in brown water so we didnt use it again. So for this reason only we wouldnt book again. We would recommend the property but would high light the water being brown.

As advertised in our description and as you will be aware when visiting parts of the West Coast or any more remote place in Scotland, properties in the area can be on private water supply, something that really adds to the charm when visiting. As you noted the water is safe to drink, ran through an approved filtration system it is some of the freshest you can get and not mixed with chemicals from water plants. The colour you highlighted in your review does change depending on rainfall and can add a tinge to the water. Aesthetically this isn't for everyone and we appologise this had an effect on your stay. I would definitely check the water supply when booking in the future, not all our properties are on private supply :)

We had a lovely family holiday in this beautiful house. Plenty of space and activities for children, dogs and grandparents to enjoy. Clean and well equipped to cater for our needs. Games room was popular as was the outside baths to relax and take in the wonderful views. Good location for shops, trips out and lots of wildlife to see. We recommend this house and hopefully be back soon.

Achalic Farmhouse is a lovely peaceful location close enough to the amenities of Oban to ensure you can always have all you want available. The space inside and out is big enough to accommodate 10 without feeling crowded. All the equipment you might want for catering is provided and in good condition. We would recommend the house to any family group

I booked Achalic Farmhouse for a long weekend with the family and our dogs. West Coats Cottages were very accommodating re the booking and allowed us to take an extra dog. The accommodation was great - very clean and comfortable and spacious enough for our group of 7 plus dogs! The hot tub and, especially, the outside baths were a big hit with everyone.
All in all, this house showed that you can get very good quality accommodation that is also dog friendly!
My wife and I love Oban and the surrounding area, so I'm sure we will be back staying here or at the smaller adjacent property.

We booked to stay over Chritmas as we had already had am unforgetable stay in June. We, being a family of 10 and a dog.
We were not disappointed. The property its self is beautiful,spacious,immaculately clean with stunning views. The most comfortable beds in big, light and airy bedrooms.
The kitchen was well enough equipped to cook a full Christmas dinner for 10. Which we enjoyed infront of a roaring fire in the dinning room.
The hot tub is bliss and the outdoor baths and games room are a welcome extra. The vibe is sunptuous yet homely.
The real tree was a lovely touch. We will most definately be back. Thank you for another fantastic stay.
There are also so many breath taking walks. Literally on the doorstep. With Oban a short drive away.

We had a wonderful stay - thank you - we will definitely be back! The house is very well equipped, very comfy beds with lovely white linen.
Perhaps swimming towels would be a good addition? We had to borrow some in order not to risk getting the beautiful white towels dirty!

Lovely newly renovated Farmhouse well equipped for ten. Nice location plenty of room in garden and views over Loch. Some difficulty accessing coastline. We all enjoyed staying here. Had a good time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Achalic Farm House. Every minute detail has been considered with the design and set-up of the house to cater for large families/groups. The house and gardens are very spacious with care and attention paid to making the most of the scenery, whilst indulging in some downtime (hot tub and outside bath), or hanging by the fire pit or in the games room.
The house was immaculate, tastefully decorated with exceptional views on offer from all bedrooms / living spaces. We especially enjoyed our front row seats to 'lambing season' and highland cows, with the house being in close proximity to a couple of farms. All in all, we can't wait to return ....
