We enjoyed our stay here. Very spacious and immaculate apartment right in the centre of Oban harbour. Beautiful views over the sea from the front of the building and views of McCaig’s tower at the back.

We’d definitely stay here again in the future.

Excellent location to explore Oban and the Western Isles. Apartment very comfortable, capable of facilitating a family holiday, close to all facilities in Oban and surrounding region of Argyle and Bute. Need to address the incoming of rain water via the window frames during inclement weather.

The location of the apartment was perfect – right in the middle of Oban, around the corner from the Distillery and close to cafes and restaurants! The views of the bay were amazing, and the rooms were comfortable. The only negative we had was the shower – the water pressure was very weak and the temperature was fiddly, even with following all of the usage instructions. Everything else was great!

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious apartment with its lovely views over looking the bay.Even out of the windows at the back there was an interesting view of a folly lit up at night with blue lights. If you don’t mind climbing 72 steps you’ll be happy with the result.One negatives we had was that there was no free street parking and sorting out the £30 parking tariff for a week was difficult because the website of the Argyll and Bute Council was poor but the tourist information office were very helpful.Another was that the oven in the apartment was very fierce and we think this could be mentioned in the information pack.

A lovely property with excellent views. Great location in the town though the 72 steps and lack of parking are a challenge with bags. The oven thermostat didn’t seem to work so the oven got extremely hot. Overall a lovely apartment, a great place to stay and a lovely holiday. The information provided in the property was very good apart from the instructions about where to empty the bins.

Argyll Mansions , great location in the centre of Oban in an iconic building on the waterfront with beautiful views out over the bay , very comfortably furnished, spacious and clean, an excellent kitchen with necessary appliances , included good WIFI. We have scored location as 5 but would note that location is on the 3rd floor with stair access only which some may find a challenge. The apartment was very welcoming for the Christmas season in true festive spirit. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return and stay in this beautiful apartment.

Excellent apartment with fantastic views of Oban's main street, the harbour and adjacent islands. Something to see at all times!
Apartment was very comfortable and roomy. Couldn't hear any neighbours at all.
Great base to explore surrounding areas.
Only drawback is the three flights of stairs when carrying luggage!

We are a family of 5 and had a lovely holiday in Argyll Mansions. The customer service was excellent as was the cleanliness and facilities, very comfortable beds. My only recommendation would be that the apartment would benefit from an extra bathroom when 5 guests are staying there.

Accommodations were fantastic and the staff was exceptionally responsive during the booking process. We stayed five nights at the end of February in 2020, and part of what we enjoyed so much about our time in Oban was having Argyll Mansions as our home base. Just a short distance from the train station, ferry terminal, and lots of pubs, this is an ideal location. Many shops and cafes are nearby, too, so anything we needed was easily accessible. That said, not much was needed seeing as the apartment was stocked with amenities. The full kitchen, including washer and dryer, was very helpful. The area was safe and we had no troubles at all. We would very much recommend this place to anyone looking to travel to Oban.

We enjoyed our short break at Argyll Mansions. The apartment is in a great central location, you can walk everywhere even to the ferry terminal. The apartment is very comfortable and clean, and we had plenty of room for a family of 5. It has fantastic views and it is great to watch the ferries coming and going. We enjoyed going our for meals to the local restaurants, which were very nice. We took a day trip to Mull on the ferry and we took the bus to Tobermory. It was a great day trip. We also visited the distillery, went for walks along the front even in the rain! We went to the local swimming pool which the kids loved. We would love to return and visit some more of the islands. It is a beautiful part of the world with great scenery. The parking was not the best, and we had to move the car about a bit as most car parks only allowed 3 hour parking. We also found the 9.30 check out too early, and it was a rush to get out when the cleaner appeared at 9.45, she was very nice though and waited until we left. A later check out such as 10/10.30 might be better which most other places have. The stairs are quite steep, it was not a problem for us, but it would not be suitable for people who are not so mobile. All in all a great stay and we would return.

My wife, two children and mother stayed here for an enjoyable 2 week holiday. If you want a place to stay that is the centre of life for Oban than this is the place for you. On arrival the instructions that was given to access the apartment was clear and easy to understand. The apartment itself was clean, spacious and offered all the comfort of a home away from home; stylishly furnished and comfortable. The visitor book was helpful and gave lots of useful information. The apartment itself is a 5 minute (if that) walk from the ferry terminal and we enjoyed several trips to the Isle of Mull and wildlife trips from the harbour. We stayed on the third floor and the views overlooking the harbour and Kerrera was beautiful. Lots of walks from the apartment to various places, we walked to Dunollie Castle (30 minutes).

The 'Mossman' at Argyll Mansions was a wonderful experience. The 3 bedroom apartment was spacious, well equipped, clean with a view to die for. You could sit & look out of the window all day & see something different with a blink of an eye. The apartment is in an excellent central location, with everything on your doorstep. Shops, bars, restaurants and ferry terminal. Would certainly recommend this apartment and Westcoast Cottages to everyone. There is no lift & he stairs up to the apartment are a challenge at first, but you do get used to them. Don't be put off by them.

The location of Argyll Mansions could not be better; it's right in the centre of Oban, just yards from restaurants, shops, cafes, railway and bus stations, and the ferry terminal. There are lofty views over the busy harbour to Kerrera and, in the distance, Mull. The price to be paid is three flights of stairs to be climbed, so you need to be reasonably fit.
The flat is posh Victorian in style, with comfortable modern furniture and a particularly well kitted-out kitchen.
Two lightbulbs needed changing during our stay, but this was very quickly attended to by the owner.
Car parking is a perennial issue in Oban, but we had no difficulty coping.

I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Oban. The location is excellent and views are amazing. The apartment was beautiful and has everything you need. The beds are all very comfortable. There are three flights of stairs to get to the apartment but we were advised of this before booking. We only stayed the one night but would book again if we ever return to Oban.

Argyll Mansions was our perfect base to explore the western isles from Oban for a week in May. As well as the fantastic accommodation, we were blessed by 26 degrees sunny weather every day of our week stay. From our first communication with Samantha at West Coast Cottages we were very impressed by the attention to detail of our booking with young twins. The apartment and its rooms felt very homely and comfortable and it is huge, it actually had a regal feel with its high ceilings, period features and huge decorative fireplace. It had every modern amenity including quality TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, superfast broadband etc. We highly recommend this quality apartment.
Oh and the views over the harbour and islands are spectacular.

We were very lucky to win a competition to stay for one night in this apartment. Unfortunately we only wish we had more time off work to extend our stay as we soon felt at home. Oban is not a huge place but this apartment is central with views to die for. Samantha who the booking was with couldn't have been more helpful a personal thank you to her. The place was well presented, immaculate and seemed to have everything you would want including alternative family entertainment in board games if bad weather made you stay indoors. The kitchen seemed to have everything you would need, washing machine, tumble dryer, dish washer, the list is endless. The visitors pack was warm, welcoming with all the information you would require for a safe stay and all the instructions for appliances. The apartment is on the third floor and is only accessible by stairs so if you are not the smallest of packers keep this in mind. There is no direct parking facilities for this apartment and in Oban generally it can be a nightmare it is well worth doing your homework before you go.

We stayed in the apartment on two occasions for a total of about three weeks. The living room and two main bedrooms have fantastic views over the centre of Oban harbour. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard and has all conveniences needed for a comfortable stay.
The owners are extremely attentive and contacted us to ensure we were comfortable.
We will stay at Argyll Mansions again.

The property is superbly placed however having to park a considerable distance away was a pain. Also dropping our belongings off on arrival was a challenge as the property is up 3 flights of very steep stairs. Thankfully a kindly neighbour helped us. We still had a great hliday though and would definitely book the property again.

Pretty apartment at the centre of Oban. The reception was poor, but because the tourist office is across the street you can find all the advice you need for you stay nearby. Besides this, it is a lovely apartment which we recommend to anyone who like to visit Oban. Bear in mind that you need to park your car pretty far away (1 km) if you don't use it every day, because all parking lots nearby have a maximum parking time between 2 and 24 hours.

The apartment was very clean and well appointed. I found the 72 stairs difficult, particularly trying to carry luggage, but the view was great from the front windows.
One thing we would have greatly appreciated would have been some fresh milk on arrival to make a cup of tea, tea and coffee and maybe a packet of biscuits! We have had this, even bread and cake at some properties we've visited, and it has been the icing on the cake, particularly after a long drive. For a small outlay the effect is more than worth the effort.

The apartment is very spacious with wonderful views across the bay so even if it rains there is also something to look at. My favourite spot was sitting in the chair in the bedroom window watching the amazing sunsets and the mountains of Mull in the distance. The furnishings in the apartment were very stylish and there was everything we needed. The location was good in that it was only a stumbling distance from numerous restaurants and takeaways and also close to the ferry. Unfortunately the road outside is very busy and if like us you sleep with the windows open, it was quite noisy. There are other apartments above and below and the people upstairs were quite noisy too but it may be that we live in a detached house in a rural setting so are not used to people living in close proximity.
The climb up the stairs would not suit anyone with mobility issues but it certainly kept us fit. The free parking is quite a distance from the building and in theory there is a max stay of 24 hours but nobody seemed to check. We actually found that making use of the parking in the street between 6pm and 9am was useful if you were going out during the day but beware there were traffic wardens lurking if you didn't put pay and display.
The ferries across to the Isles are very reasonably priced, especially if going by foot and we fell in love with the tranquillity and wildlife when we went on a nature tour with a local guide.
A welcome pack would have been nice, particularly some milk as it's a long walk down the stairs to the shops.
We really did enjoy our time in Oban and will be back.

The apartment is exactly as advertised--upscale furnishings, luxury linens and a fabulous view of Oban Harbor. The building was constructed in the early 1900s and has beautiful architectural features, a modern kitchen, and comfortable furniture. There are great restaurants across the street and it's just a short walk to a supermarket.
There are 70+ stair steps to the apartment which may be a challenge for some and it's a bit of a hike to the public parking area but the apartment itself more than makes up for it.

The owners are really helpful and easy to work with. We highly recommend Argyll Mansions.

The mirror in the bathroom was to low and the entrance to the shower is difficult for old people. Also some more lights in the living room and dining room to get more ambiance. Maybe a Nespresso coffee machine in the kitchen. Overall rate of our stay was very good. Well done.

We enjoyed three nights with our teenagers at Argyll Mansions. The location could not be better as long as you don't mind the stairs. What a view and all of the town's amenities and ferries to mull and islands are right on your doorstep. Hiring bikes from Oban Cycles and a sunny day cycling around Kerrera was a highlight along with some excellent meals. We would love to return. Sam was very helpful through booking and gave some great tips for eating out.

I found the owner Colin really helpful and this is accommodation of a very high standard. The property has truly uplifting views out over Oban harbour, with the gentle hills of the island of Kerrera in the forefront and the mountains of Mull and Morvern further afield. Great to watch the impressive and iconic Calmac ferries coming and going from the harbour. This is accommodation that makes a stay in Oban great whatever the weather.

Our first impression of this apartment was - 'oh no! we have four large suitcases and all these stairs to go up!' Would have liked to have known this especially as my Mum has bad knees. Once we got into the apartment we found it to be a beautiful and very spacious place to spend a few days recovering from our trip and catch up with family. It was a very comfortable place to stay with great views. However being on the waterfront means the property was very exposed to wind. The windows were not the appropriate ones for the property and they whistled loudly all through the night and at times sounded like a train. It was the same in all front facing rooms and meant we had broken nights of sleep. It also caused plaster to fall off the walls and ceiling. This was such a disappointing feature of the property as everything else was so good! The house was lovely and warm and very clean. We would recommend this property if we knew the windows has been fixed. I think the owners need to stay in the property to fully understand this problem.

Lovely, spacious, well equipped and comfortable apartment on the third floor overlooking the harbour. You can sit by the window with stunning views and watch the ferries coming and going, and it's right in the town centre within seconds of shops, bars and restaurants. Owners were very friendly and helpful during the booking process too. The only slight downsides are the pay and display parking outside, and the lack of a lift in the building so in all honesty it's a bit of a slog up the stairs with your luggage. However, these are only minor inconveniences and the location and quality of the accommodation more than makes up for them.

Argyll Mansions offers a nice view on the harbour and hustle&bustle of ferries&islands. Shopping & restaurants are at the doorstep. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor (no elevator so a bit of a climb with the luggage), spacious, cosy, all the luxury you need. We were here in the month of November and on our arrival the apartment was already heated (nice!).

Great central location minutes from the ferry port, lovely big master bedroom and living toom, property is light and bright and welcoming.
Property didn't have a welcome pack which we were disappointed by, we had expected basics like tea/coffee/milk/sugar to be provided on arrival.
Toddler high chair was great but the cot is a very basic travel cot, ok for the odd night but not for extended stays.
Overall happy with the property and would recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our break at Argyll Mansions.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable, very well equipped.
However,for us the best feature of Argyll Mansions was the location with beautiful scenic views of Oban Bay even the rain could not spoil this scenic view.
Also ideal location for all tourist attractions,no shortage of restaurants or your doorstep,also very convenient for travel by public transport.
Would definitely recommend.

A superb place. Everything you could need in a holiday rental. Wonderful to wake up to stunning views and some superb sunsets too. If you are OK to walk up the 3 floors then confident you would enjoy a stay here as much as I did. Would definitely return when visiting Scotland again.

Good looking appartment, stairs to appartment not for the unfit, felt healthier leaving then on arrival. Great views from the windows of the bay and the busy harbour area with the coming and going of the shipping of all shapes and sizes. Oban an excellant base for viewing the surrounding area. Good would consider staying again.

This apartment was perfect in every way. Even though it rained (almost) continuously during our stay, the apartment and its view were so wonderful that curling up near a window with a book was a treat. A perfect 'hideaway'.
Word of caution for heart patients: there are 72 stairs to climb before reaching the apartment - your reward at the top.

Excellent base , good accommodation, friendly extremely helpful property manager. No complaints whatsoever regarding the accommodation.
Parking is problematic in Oban town centre but helpfully advised where appropriate free parking was available. However due to my own error I believed parking on a Sunday was free and received parking fine at car park next to accommodation. Had bought ticket for the period prior to 6pm on the Saturday. Moved my car Sunday but ticket already issued. Attempt at appeal sadly fell on deaf ears from the council and payment was taken from my enclosed cheque! Discussed this with tourist researchers on the last day of my stay who were incandescent with rage as they had also received o parking ticket that day, despite being advised where to park by a traffic warden!!

This is a self-catering flat overlooking the harbour in Oban and only a 2 minute walk away from the ferry terminal (I recommend the 3 Isles Tour of Mull, Staffa and Iona).

Parking is very poor in Oban. We had to park the car a good 15 minute walk away. The free car parking is not ideally located and the drop off points to the flat were all taken up. There is a handy car park 1 minute away from the flat but you do have to pay for this.

The flat is spacious and bright with a great living room and large dining room and comfortable bedrooms. The 3 flights of stairs may prove to be too much for some but is fine for most people. The benefit of this location though is the great views of Oban bay, Mull and Kerrera. Shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes are all nearby. I would recommend the Oban Whisky Distillery tour as it is next door to the flat and is a great way to spend an hour or two.
