A 4 star spacious modernised self catering croft holiday cottage with a large private garden, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Tigh Grianach Cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Tigh Grianach Cottage. All the arrangements, from booking to arrival were very easy.
Rhoda is a delightful owner and she was extremely welcoming and helpful.
The cottage is very spacious and very well appointed. There is plenty of space to park on the property.
We found everything we needed in the kitchen and the choice of supermarkets in Oban is excellent.
The ever changing views over the loch were a constant source of interest, whatever the weather. We also enjoyed watching the cows in the field below the cottage and catching a glimpse of some black rabbits. The field behind the house is home to three deer.
The cottage was an ideal base from which to travel, north or south. We took an Ocean Sea Tour round Kerrera which was interesting and informative. During the trip we saw a pair of white tailed sea eagles off the coast of Mull and plenty of basking seals.

A delightful week in a lovely cottage. We were comfortable and relaxed throughout and the setting was superb.
West Coast Cottages did say the property had a bath as well as showers and we found out on arrival there was no bath.
The showers (which were excellent) needed a shower mat as the surface was slippery after soaping and shampooing.
There was a large pressure differential between hot and cold water supply.
These last two did not detract from our week and we enjoyed ourselves.

Probably the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in.
Spotlessly clean when we arrived.
The owners, Rhoda & James, are really friendly and helpful.
And what can I say about the view? We spent hours just gazing at the ever-changing light and colours across Loch Etive to the mountains beyond.

A nice property, in a good location for exploring the Oban area. Nice and warm for an autumn break and well equipped.

We can only tell positive things of Tigh Grianach:
- Very warm welcome by Rhoda, who lives nearby in case of any questions.
- The house is fully equipped with everything you need on vacation.
- Everything is very clean, in good condition and tastefully furnished.
- The road in front of the house has hardly any traffic and did not bother us.
- That the property is not completely fenced, was already mentioned in other reviews. For us this was not a problem, as there were no children in the tour group and our dog does not run into the street.
- To reach restaurants, pubs and shopping you need the car. There is nothing to reach on foot. Otherwise, the cottage is very well located for many excursions in the area (eg Oban, Mull, Glencoe).

Although we were not really lucky with the weather, we spent a very nice week there.

Had a great week at Tigh Grianach. The house met all our expectations and more - spotless, comfy and all mod cons you need for a week away. The location was perfect, close to Oban but quiet and stunning views. Would definitely recommend!

We loved our stay in Tigh Grianach. The cottage was stunning, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The sofas are immense. The view was spectacular. We had such a wonderful holiday there and, even though the garden was not secure for our dog, we can't wait to go back. It is on a road but it is not busy by any stretch of the imagination so did not bother us at all. It is so well placed for exploring the area and there are walks locally. Rhoda was so lovely and friendly. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

The quality of this cottage surpassed any expectations we had from the website information and photos. Extremely comfortable, lovely lounge, amazing location, peaceful, well equipped and warm. We would highly recommend it. Additional extras such as coffee machine, speaker for Bluetooth, large screen smart TV all added to our comfort and enjoyment. The outside table with the awesome views was a definite winner. We had breakfast and lunch out there several times. The owners are nearby and very helpful. What's not to like?!

The cottage was ideally situated to use the cycle paths. The owner was keen to be helpful though none was needed. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Unfortunately the weather wasn't brilliant so it was a boon to return to a warm and comfortable cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed watching the cows while having breakfast. The views over the loch were fantastic and much wildlife could be seen through the owner's binoculars from the lounge. Parking was ample. A great holiday destination with Oban close by with a wonderful selection of seafood restaurants

We had a lovely holiday here in an area we know well made more poignant as its probably the last with our Dad. Rhoda was very welcoming and the cottage was just as I expected but the view in reality was even better than the pictures.
I can find no fault only two suggestions, handles perhaps in one of the showers and instructions for the heaters. The absence of these did not spoil our stay but would have been handy. One week was not enough.

Cottage has magnificent views of Ben Cruachan and Loch Etive. Cottage is well equipped, impeccably clean, and has three good size bedrooms. Our host Isobel was keen to help. Location by falls of Lorna is well placed for exploring, and not too far from Lochaber and Glencoe. Only warning is that the photo is a bit misleading, as there is a road right next to the house, and the garden is unfenced. We had a great stay there.

Had a most relaxing holiday in a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Cottage was spotlessly clean and most comfortable. It had everything you could wish for. The location of the cottage is to die for with stunning views. Great off-road parking. Couldn't ask for anything more. Will definitely be back one day. Thanks!!!

We had a wonderful week at Tigh Grianach Cottage! It was just a short ride to Oban where we spent most of our time, and the view from the cottage is outstanding. It was a bit more expensive that we had we had planned to pay, but was worth the extra for the size and location.

Disappointed to find a main road ran past the front of the property which was not obvious from the photos used to advertise the place. However the place was very spacious and comfortable and we had a good holiday.

I wholeheartedly recommend this well-appointed cottage looking up Loch Etive as the perfect base for a holiday in the Oban area. The property is comfortable, spacious, well equipped, and enjoys a splendid view of the loch and Ben Cruachan. A week was not long enough for us to visit all the wonderful locations in the area, including Inverary, Oban, Mull, Iona, the Isle of Lismore, Port Appin, Castle Stalker, Inverawe, Glencoe, Ballachulish and Kingairloch. Isobel was extremely helpful in making sure all was well with us, and we felt completely at home!

What can we say, our stay in Tigh Grianach Cottage was amazing with our family the views just took your breath away. The cottage was gorgeous and not far from to the centre of Oban.

The owners of the cottage were lovely so kind and very helpful and the touch of shortbread, homemade chocolates etc plus fresh yellow roses waiting for us on our arrival and biscuits also for our dog Breagha.

Samantha @ West Coast Cottages was so helpful and gave us a lot of information before our stay we visited some lovely places and our favourite restaurant Waterfront at the harbour superb food & service plus I am gluten free etc and they had a separate menu heaven. Local Shellfish at the pier was amazing you stand beside wooden tables and you are given fresh local cooked fish.

A visit to Isle of Kerrera is a must and only 5mins on the ferry.

Loved Oban and our cottage and would recommend to stay you will not be disappointed.

Thank you West Coast Cottages and the owners a truly memorable holiday.

Duncan, Michele and family plus our wee dog Breagha x

This is our second stay at Tigh Griannach and we loved it even more than the first, especially now there is an ensuite in the second bedroom. This cottage is really looked after and has such a homely feel. It is spacious and clean and the views are to die for. I could literally sit at that window seat all day. Our dog Ollie loved lying in front of the fire after a busy day exploring. The location is great and only a couple of minutes drive to the nearest pub (defo recommend Oyster inn) and only 15 mins to Oban. The owner Isobel and her husband are lovely and really want you to enjoy your stay. We had a fantastic New Year and will definitely be back again.

overall we had a good time during our week at this cottage. Thr were however some points that I feel could be improved upon.

1 There was a main road right out front and cars/trucks came past at speed. There was no gate so with small children we couldn't just put them outside to play unsupervised. That reduced my enjoyment and ability to relax.
2 The photo suggests the cottage has character, but it has none. This may sound like a quibble but actually for me it was a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps a log burning stove, or walls that are any colour except magnolia would help.
3 The landlady only turned up once, to ask for money to cover electricity (which is an extra). I had no sense of how much this was going to cost (no visibility) so asked the letting agent and was a bit surprised when I got the bill as to the actual amount.
4 To give customers a real sense of welcome it may be a nice idea to have a little welcome pack - some tea bags/coffee/milk, a bottle of wine etc. The cupboards were absolutely bare when we arrived late with our young family and I would have been happy for a cuppa.

Having said all of this there were some great aspects:
1 The location/view was excellent. I loved waking up every morning and looking down the loch. It looked different every day. It was a gat springboard to exploring islands and peninsulas. Also useful to be near Oban for provisions and the swimming pool (good on the inevitable wet day).
2 The land lady's husband was very friendly and helpful in making us a BBQ. Amazing what he can do with some scrap metal and a welder!

I hope that is useful.

Best wishes

Daniel
