Dolphin Cottage is in a very quiet and pretty lane, quite close to the beach, and some shops and pubs. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean, well equipped kitchen and the two wood burning stoves are lovely to have in the winter months. We brought our bikes and enjoyed cycling around the island. The nature reserves are particularly interesting and beautiful. When we arrived at Dolphin Cottage it was very cold. It would have been nice if the heating had been set to come on before we arrived. We turned up the thermostat, but the radiators only reached lukewarm. Eventually we worked out that the setting on the boiler was turned down to 35 degrees, which wasn’t enough to get the room temperature above 16.5 degrees. Once we turned up the boiler setting to 50 degrees, the radiators started to get warm. We also lit both wood burning stoves, and that helped to warm the cottage up. We were fairly comfortable for the rest of the week. Though it is worth bearing in mind that there is a huge draught from under the front door, (you can see daylight under the door!), so we were careful to keep the doors to the living areas closed. And it was definitely a good idea to bring warm jumpers! Otherwise it was all great!

Spacious cottage with especially nice kitchen/dining/family room but when the outside temperature drops the house is not warm. Quirks include a clear glass bathroom window with no curtain and most of the kitchen cupboards full of owners effects.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. The cottage is lovely and the location is great. There are two log burners in the cottage which guests are welcome to use, its a really cosy cottage. The owner has kindly fitted a blind into the bathroom now for more privacy! We hope to welcome you again in the future
