We stayed at Cabane Mont Forte over the May Bank Holiday as we were visiting friends in the area. The house is located on a quiet estate; we initially pulled up to the wrong house number quoted in the directions from the agent but soon found the right place. The house was very welcoming, spacious and comfortable. Super clean with everything we needed. We did not use the hob or oven due to eating out. A wonderful house in a quiet rural location yet amenities are only a few minutes drive. A perfect situation for exploring the area. Has all the comforts you need for a family get together with enough space to spread out!
Hidden gem in charming town. Well equipped, clean and newly refurbished, with secure parking. There are stairs and some road noise at peak times but otherwise very comfortable. Shame about the reconstruction of the hotel across the road but can’t be helped and I’m sure it will change in coming months.

The cottage is comfortable, clean and well equipped. It is in a quiet hamlet with little passing traffic and nice views. Two of the neighbour's peacocks came to visit us on the first morning. The beach at East Wittering is nearby where there is also a new well-stocked COOP for food shopping and a cas machine. Itchenor with its coastal walks and inexpensive parking has excellent sea views and is only a short trip in the car. The Red oak is a beautiful place to stay, the lodge has all what you need, it is a clean and silent retreat. The view on the green makes it even more relaxing, we saw a squirrel, many robins and other birds. A lovely place. As welcome we received a tasty wine and cookies and an invitation to a free yoga session. I took part to it in the next green door center and it was a positive experience among friends. It is next to bus stop and train station. There are a lot of wonderful walks from the lodge. We had a great time here.
We really enjoyed our stay at Little Maplewood. It is a comfortable, clean property with everything you need for a relaxing break. Even though it is in the garden of another house, it doesn't feel intrusive and has its own gate and entrance. The only thing I disliked was the rattan mat the bed was on as it was uncomfortable for bare feet but apart from that we loved it, especially the wet room which has the most fantastic shower! It's like being under a waterfall and felt very indulgent!
Elm lodge is the perfect destination if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break. A self catering lodge in a beautiful setting in West Sussex, it is perfectly placed as a base for exploring this lovely area on the south coast. We will visit again.
Very clean and tidy and fully equipped with everthing you need for a short stay. Janet was a very good host and even though she lives next door, she left us completely alone apart from answering the odd question. We were very happy with everything during the time we were there. In my opinion, this is excellent value for money and great if you're walking/cycling the South Downs Way. South Harting has a good pub and nearby Petersfield covers almost everything else. Highly recommended!
Rubens Barn is a little rural gem. All of the creature comforts, extremely generous food provisions and a wonderful owner who greeted us on arrival and departure. Accessible to Chichester, Midhurst and Petworth. Highly recommended.
Working locally for a month and rather than a hotel wanted somewhere I could cook and do washing myself. This was idea location, price and access. All amenities necessary. Comfy bed and pillows. Well provided kitchen (hob/oven/microwave/fridge/freezer/washing machine/dryer). Lots of parking space.
Ages 5 months - 70's, 16 of us enjoyed a fabulous family weeks holiday at the Coach House. We enjoyed many watersports activities, carrying equipment to the beach by our very strong and capable children, wives and grandchildren. Space for chilling and enjoying table tennis and playing games in the house was in abundance. My family (four adults and two small children) enjoyed a wonderful getaway at Whyke cottage. The owner, Belinda, was very communicative and helpful when problems or questions arose. She also supplied a hair dryer very quickly after we discovered there was none at the cottage and gave us a list of local recommendations, which proved very helpful. Lovely house, very clean, comfortable, plenty of room, it had everything we needed & more, it was well above our expectations. Parking is easy, house is in a very quiet good location, with shop, pubs within walking distance, and 20 mins by car to Portsmouth, will definately stay here again, and will recommend to family & friends.
We enjoyed our stay at Palm Tree Cottage. We received a warm welcome from the owners on arrival. The cottage was very comfortable and warm. The bedroom was very large with lovely ensuite bathroom. The lounge and kitchen were well equipped, we could easily prepare any food we required. The Bulls Head opposite is a must if you don't want to cook. Excellent accommodation on a quiet street but only a short walk from the sea. The owner was very friendly and on hand if needed. We had meals out in two local restaurants again within in walking distance. There is a lot to see and do and in the short time we were here we visited Chichester Cathedral, West Wittering beach and the Weald and Downland Living Museum. The weather could have been kinder but we enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend Caedwalla House.
Awesome find, excellent location, parking for 2/3 cars, everything you need within the property, very comfortable. Downstairs toilet which was great, saves running up and down stairs. I genuinely don’t know where to begin in attempting to do justice to our week here: truly one of the best staycations I’ve had. Starting with the lodge, the pictures great as they are, don’t do it justice. It’s so well decorated and cleverly designed. It has everything you could possibly need. The location is breathtaking, we are missing the tranquil and calming sound of the steam each morning. The house was clean and spacious, comfortable and quiet, and very well equipped, and our host Lorna was very kind and accommodating. Being quite central, we also found that the location was great for touring around West Sussex. A very lovely week has been spent there.
My parents and I had a wonderful stay at 4 Priory Road, a beautifully renovated cottage in the middle of Chichester town. We were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather, so the garden came in handy too! The cottage truly felt like a home away from home - with everything we needed and more! Henry Adams was very responsive, and the owners of the cottage were there to meet us in person and show us around which was a lovely touch. Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Castleton. The Annexe is very attractive and has been well fitted out as a holiday home. We liked being able to sit out on the very pretty patio and look at the lovely garden. It was also very convenient for the city centre; we walked to the Minerva Theatre in about 20 minutes. The Annexe is also very well insulated. This was a blessing during the recent hot spell of weather when the house kept very pleasantly cool.
This is a beautiful and comfortable holiday flat in an amazing location..The balcony is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. An ever changing scene.. Everything is so fresh and new. Most definitely want to return for a longer stay.soon.
Seashell Cottage was immaculate and very well appointed with an excellent welcome package including all essentials plus wine and snacks. The rooms are of a good size and well appointed with lots of storage and comfortable beds. The shower room was excellent with a good shower. Separate WC upstairs as well. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The only negative was a slight musty smell downstairs which was helped with opening the windows. A parking permit was prearranged with parking free in the vicinity. Easy walking distance to local amenities and beach.

This is the third year we have booked this accommodation. Our team enjoy staying at The Parlour Emsworth due to its cleanliness and self catering ability unlike staying at a Hotel. It is ideally placed for their local commute and we would happily recommend staying here.
The house was perfect for us to find some interesting rides and to walk into Chichester for our evening meals. The garden was also very relaxing to sit and lunch in.

I stayed in the house for two weeks and it was absolutely brilliant! Comfy beds and beautifully decorated with great detail to charm and elegance! There was everything one needs from kitchen utensils to beach towels. It is definitely the best house I've stay in in Chichester over the last 15 years. I will be returning in the future for sure. The host was really welcoming and always available too, which isn't always the case.
We (wife, self and adult daughter) thoroughly enjoyed our week in Coney Six. The property was beautifully clean, light and well equipped. We loved having two bathrooms, being able to step directly from the large lounge into the peaceful garden, the quiet cul-de-sac, being only a couple of minutes walk from the beach, plus all the eating places and shops of East Wittering (some wonderfully quirky). Thank you for a lovely stay at The Dairy, clean comfortable and spacious. The welcome pack was amazing and included local cheese, butter and bread. Lots to do in the area and very close for Chichester. Some good farm shops nearby.
The location is fantastic as you can walk everywhere and leave your car on the drive. Considering it’s just off the main road through Midhurst it’s surprisingly very quiet. Couple of things went wrong while we were there but the team at Henry Adams were straight on it and everything was sorted very quickly.
We enjoyed staying at the Stable Cottage, it was well equiped and comfortable. A place to relax and enjoy.

Practical and pleasant cottage. We all enjoyed our stay. It was warm! Important for out of season stays. One snag was that we didn't find the heating instructions at first as in unusual position on wall behind kitchen door. Further from the beach than expected. It's actually 25mins of rather dull walk or you have to drive and pay £7. But there are pleasant short walks on footpaths very close and one of them does give access to the beach - slightly further than going down the road but a better bit of beach for swimming.
Very quiet location right by fascinating yacht harbour. Well-equipped deckhouse, right down to torches for evening strolls. A generous offer by owners to use their kayaks. Lovely walks around attractive bay. Café and fresh fish market very close by. Had visitors - kids and grandkids - we and they all loved it. Hard to leave! Only suggestion to earn a 5 for comfort would be an extra lamp in the sitting area, and a variety of books and board games for cosy family nights in.

We had a wonderful stay at Sea Esta, and wished we could have stayed longer. The house is compact with its upside down design, i.e. the bedroom downstairs and the kitchen upstairs. The place is spotless and very well-equipped with utensils, beautiful towels, and luxurious bed linen. A lovely surprise to receive wine plus a welcome pack. The view from the house is amazing. 5 of us stayed at Shoreline for our Portsmouth tour stop in Everybody’s Talking about Jamie at the Kings Theatre. As soon as we pulled up to the house we were amazed. Beautiful spacious rooms, high technology, beautiful kitchen with everything we needed. The garden was amazing and luckily we had good weather for the week and we sunbathed on the sun loungers that were also at the house. All facilities were perfect, hot showers, wash/dryer, it was very much the perfect stay so far and we don’t think we can beat it for the remainder of our tour. Beautifully decorated and equipped property in a very quiet rural position but excellent access to Goodwood and sites with plenty of good restaurants in the area. Decor is modern but comfortable and the kitchen is also modern and very well equipped. Good quality comfortable beds with nice bed linen. Towels provided. (Only minor things I would recommend is 1. provide drying up cloths for those of us who don't need to use dishwashers. 2. Egg cups for boiled eggs at breakfast 3. I couldn’t fault my stay. Debbie was very welcoming and helpful with anything I needed. The annexe was comfortable and spacious and just what I needed for a quiet week away. Wifi was superb and the kitchen was extremely well equipped ! It was especially nice that it was dog friendly, within a very short walk of the lovely beach. Shops within minutes if you need to stock up but at the same time down a quiet cul de sac . A little courtyard at the back with a table and chairs and parking to the front on the driveway .
The living room was a good size compared to the kitchenette which was basic and behind 3 sliding doors. The small round sink was not big enough to take the dinner plates. The toilet shower room leading off of the bedroom was a reasonable size, however the multiple led down-lights were operated by a PIR. Ok for normal use, but in the middle of the night !!! a dimmer setting would be helpful. There was plenty of wardrobe space, however no full length hanging space for my wife's dresses. Good basic accommodation, in easy reach of Goodwood Racing Circuit.
Cottage was perfect for us, location , size and comfort! Great to have one car space to! Bedding and towels provided for and great to use the washing machine. We enjoyed our stay and will book next year ! Only one thing to note for others, if you have to carry heavy suitcases it’s a little tricky down garden stairs to back door.

Great location, A27, station, Hayling Island. Spacious and well appointed, great beds, settee a little too low for some. Like many rental properties it has its foibles that a bit of tlc would quickly resolve. Really enjoyed our week and would readily return, dispite the really poor weather that we had. As our party was 2 couples a second set of keys would be useful and avoid the trips to the key lock box.

We found this apartment clean, comfortable and warm during a spell of wet weather. The kitchen, in particular, was very well equipped. It was conveniently located for the shops in Havant and the gated parking was an added bonus. Communications with the owner were excellent.
Everything was satisfactory, however I suggest that information on how to use the front door key to open and close is explained beforehand. Not everyone is used to this system. Took us a long time to figure it out. Left a message on the emergency number but no one got back to us.

The location of this property can not be faulted, it is opposite the cathedral and a few steps from all the restaurants and shops. The property itself really needs updating in my opinion, there are very squeaky beds and disappointing bathrooms for such a big property (there is one bathroom with a shower cubicle on the second floor, and one very small bathroom on the third floor with a shower over a very small bath tub, so we had four adults staying in the two double rooms on the second floor and all had to share one shower that the drain kept filling up). This is the second year we have spent at the Three Jays for our family holiday. We were soo happy with the week we spent there last year, we booked a two week break there this year. Any minor concerns or changes are not even worth mentioning, all in all it's a great little place. We all hope to visit the Three Jays again in the future.
Our family have been visiting Selsey since long before I was born, I am now visiting with my children, in there 20's, so have stayed in many properties. This was definitely up there with the best, perfect for 3 adults ( or a small family), in a perfect spot, yards from the sea and lifeboat and 10 mins walk to the High Street. The cottage had most things we needed( a couple of things missings we advised owners of) but generally good facilities and equipment we needed. Stayed here for a week of Christmas. The cottage was well equipped and extremely cosy. The owner was very welcoming and pointed out all the essentials upon our arrival. The log burner was a real treat and plenty of logs were provided. Great value for money and good location.

The Brewery Cottage is lovely. This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. Accommodation is clean, in great condition and really comfortable. It is also in a great location only 5 or 10 mins walk from Chichester Cross and centre of city. Highly recommend.
We would've liked to be able to secure the sliding wooden doors from the inside of the property. There was a power cut Friday night resulting in a temporary loss of WiFi. This meant that we had no hot water. The owner was contacted via "emergency contact". They switched the hot water back on remotely! It was wrongly suggested that we had turned it off. What happens when the owner is unavailable? There were no instructions in the house. More info on the local footpaths etc would have been useful.
Second time staying here. Excellent location, great facilities, perfect for a family holiday. The dog loved it too!

It’s a nice place but should have fire escape and also one of the neighbours downstairs isn’t very friendly. The others are nice. It’s a great location but remember the car cleaner as there’s a lot of seagulls plus parking is literally one place and no room in the street for any visitors to park. But it is a lovely place well decorated and great location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage at Hale Hill Farm. It is very spacious and was clean and well equipped. The owners, Clare & Nick, who live in the neighbouring farm were very welcoming without impinging on our privacy and ensured that we had everything that we needed. The cottage is situated in a peaceful spot overlooking water meadows. There are footpaths leading directly from the cottage onto the ridge of the South Downs, from which there is a large selection of possible walks. There is a wide variety of other attractions within a short drive.
Third year coming to Cottage and it just suits us so well. Six adults can share this property easily and it works. Kitchen is a little dark but lights on - no issue. Love the fact that we can cook there and everything available- just take a photo of how the "beastie" in the kitchen works and all will be well. Such a comfortable home from home, thank you. Next year - a real possibility - hee hee .

A great house for a family get together. The beach is very close and easy to access. The house was well set up for young children and a pet. Good backyard and facilities.
Apart from some black mould in the bathroom and some stains on the carpets, both of which need professional treatment, the flat was clean and very well equipped. Perhaps the description of the position of the key box should be changed from 'on the door to the right' to 'behind the door to the right'. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and will return.

2 Walled Garden was spacious enough and close enough to the beach. Unfortunately the lounge/dining area could do with modernisation. It felt dark, old and carpets were stained. The shower was over the bath was a not very powerful and tricky to wash long hair. The kitchen was bright but the cutlery and crockery was filthy dirty and had to be washed before using. The only dinner plates do not fit into the dishwasher and had to be washed by hand. It was dusty and dirty under all the beds upstairs and the bed linen was old and outdated. Overall we enjoyed the holiday but here are a few comments. 1. The front of the key safe fell off when we arrived for the key and had great difficulty getting the front back on again when we left. 2. Shower curtain had holes to thread the wire through but these had been not used and the alternative arrangement allowed water to leak out on to the floor when we used the shower. 3. Side of bath very high to step into. We are in our 70s and 80s but agile enough to manage, Other people might not find it so easy. Absolutely amazing! Spindrift is clean, comfortable and in the heart of Arundle with views overlooking the castle from main bedroom window and river views from second bedroom. Spindrift is just a 60-sec stroll to Arundle's historic shops and heritage buildings. The hosts were attentive and bent over backwards to ensure all our needs were met and our stay was comfortable. Flint Cottage is a little dog-friendly gem tucked away on the outskirts of Emsworth. Easily walkable into Emsworth centre with its great selection of shops and restaurants, and to Westbourne for a quieter vibe. Located on a popular walking route, it was perfect for us with our dog. Lots of paths to explore with the nature reserve, the quays and nearby Prinsted shore all easily reached. The accommodation was excellent, high quality fittings and very comfortable, heating, easy to control, kitchen well equipped. Good dining area in heated conservatory. Easy access to the city using Uber. Would not hesitate in using this accommodation again.
Lovely family including Becky the dog, who were always attentive and always willing to chat. Large garden for dogs to run around in our dog loved it, but very mindful of open areas and the main road. Might benefit from a privacy blind on the sink window in the shower room. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we will be going back shortly.
We stayed over Easter weekend as we have friends who own a property on the same road. The property was perfect for our needs, bedtime and breakfast. We spent the rest of the day out and about. Seemed to have recently been painted and we had brand new towels. Stairs are a little dangerous for little ones but that isn't a fault it's just because it's a cosy cottage. We would stay there again if we couldn't find somewhere a little larger. We were 2 adults and 2 under 5s.
This was our second stay at Lifeboat View with three generations of our family, ranging in age from 13-86 years. The house is in a great location with easy access to the town of Selsey, the beach, some local shops and a good pub. With the eldest of our group having reduced mobility the ground floor bedrooms and bathroom and stair lift to the middle floor was a great help. We walked along the rope walk (along the sea front) towards Portsmouth old town one day and found some lovely pubs. Excellent communication with both the agency and the owner before stay and throughout. Would highly recommend.
Nicely appointed and spacious annex. We did not use the kitchen but it seemed well equipped. Shower soap/gel and shampoo/conditioner not provided. Close to Goodwood but expect long delays during key events. Our only negative is the bed is small for 2 adults.

Liked the location of the house, convenient for west Wittering beach and with great walking from base. Salterns way is good cycle way and close. Layout of house is good, pleasant outdoor area also. Negatives: didn’t like the beds, too soft and a little noisy. Wouldn’t have booked a house without a dishwasher, sadly missed that point in advance.
Birch End was perfect for my husband, pets and me for a six week stay while we waited for our house purchase to complete. The owner was very helpful and friendly as was the neighbour who keeps an eye on things for her. We already knew Midhurst well, it is a lovely town in the beautiful South Downs with lovely walks, pubs and restaurants. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Still Waters at the end of June and would highly recommend it. Unfortunately several small points let the house down from being absolutely superb, and could easily be rectified by the owner and management company. Was a great spot within easy distance of Midhurst. Only complaint is the difficulty in turning right on Petersfield Rd but turned left and went down June Lane. The cost of the place was high but the value was there.
Really good accommodation in an excellent spot. Well equipped and close to the village. Parking is easy and it is close to loads of things to do.
Overall comfort and location was fine however beds were not comfortable and one had stains on sheet, there were 2 pots in the kitchen that were unusable due to having rust and mould and some cutlery were dirty meaning the whole lot had to be cleaned before use. Owner (next door) had dog which barked late at night and early (before 7.00am) morning, not ideal if on a resting relaxing break.
Great ground floor flat to stay at. Right in the heart of Emsworth so very handy for local shops, pubs and restaurants. Easy to take stroll round the harbour.
We had a lovely 3 day break at Costal. The house and location is perfect for a family get together, house is child friendly with an enclosed sunny garden, and just a 2 minute walk to the beach. There’s games and toys for the children and even boogie boards to take to the beach. If you need any help they respond with quickly.
Lovely cottage on the edge of Ashdown Forest, with lots of walks nearby. Comfortable accommodation, although upstairs requires ducking under beams. The weather was beautiful for our stay and we were able to eat outside a lot and it was lovely to do so. Cottage could do with a little TLC, which would make a big difference
This was our second stay at fisherman's cottage. We rented it for a holiday for some of our Care Home residents. It was ideal for the purpose we needed it for, comfortable, clean and a good location

Blue Haze is in a great location a few steps from the coast and in a quiet and historic setting - the mature trees on the estate are just astounding. The gardens, drive and house provide plenty of space for grown ups, younger folk and dogs - a great spot for a week or more of sea air and country expeditions.
The positives: Comfortable cottage in the quiet village of Bosham. 15 min walk to Bosham harbour which is very scenic. Good location for visiting Chichester, Arundel and beaches. One min walk to village pub. Plenty of space in the cottage and a pretty garden backing on to playing fields. The negatives were as follows: the cottage wasn’t very clean on arrival. A quiet and perfect cottage where dogs are allowed. And some good pubs with good food very nearby. We would love to come back here in the future.
The house location is great, on the beach, parking, etc… The beds are too springy and would do great if they can be replaced with good firm beds to get a good nights sleep. The house is catered for 8 people but the dining room / eating table only fits a maximum of 6 chairs with a mixture of different chairs (some very uncomfortable). The hoover doesn’t work properly, we complained about it last year but nothing has changed, a good old Henry hoover would do the trick! No brush and shovel after you sweep up!? Overall ok.
We were delighted with our 10 day stay at Broyle House. THe accommodation was just as described, and provided a comfortable base to explore Chichester (in easy walking distance though there were daytime buses which stopped nearby) and its surroundings. We had a minor problem with the dishwasher but the agents Henry Adams acted quickly to sort.
The property itself was lovely: decorated to a high standard with very interesting and quirky furnishings. However, the mattress is probably towards the end of its life and not very comfortable. In addition, the location was a little disappointing being wedged between a main road and train line .... in winter it was fine with the windows closed but not quite the peaceful, relaxing and comfortable retreat for which we were hoping.
The house and location was lovely, only negative was a few cupboards need fixing and a problem with main bathroom as smell wasn’t good also the outside tap had a leak. This would not stop us from going back as it was a delightful property.
We travel from the US to visit family a few times a year, and are so happy there is finally a property in the village! The bedrooms and all linens were excellent, heating excellent, water pressure in the shower lovely. It was even decorated for Christmas. We didn't need the tiny kitchen except to enjoy the coffee and tea provided, thanks much. And we didn't use the patio mid-December, but it seemed quite nice! We enjoyed being so closed to East Wittering beach and the village centre. The house was well kitted out with everything we needed and the kids loved the trampoline! The weather was very warm during our stay so a couple of fans would have made it more comfortable but we managed without. It was a shame the cleaner didn’t come prior to our arrival. The lady who came was very sweet and did her cleaning around us getting tired small children to bed. The house probably needs more than a 2 hour clean to be really set up for next guests though. We’re a family of 4 and a dog, & we all had a great time. The house was clean, practical, & the open plan kitchen/family room was amazing. We all enjoyed the hot tub on a few occasions, & a great sized back garden that our dog loved. The house is a 15 minute walk to WW beach, the perfect location to explore the local area. We’ll definitely be back:-)
The space was clean enough, convenient and private. There was lots of space for our family of 5. Overall the property was good it just needs some tlc. The kitchen floor boards look like some water damage has occurred in the past, the toilet seat is cracked and taped back together. These things didn’t cause us issues, the unit just needs a bit of maintenance and a good deep clean. Access to the unit upon arrival was easy. Would definitely stay again if we went back.
Great little property in a nice location. Only issue is parking is a real problem in area and would not recommend bringing a car.
Our second visit to this property - excellent location just a short walk to an off lead dog exercising area, the fabulous beach and a stroll along the promenade to a good pub. We weren’t very lucky with the weather sadly but managed to explore the lovely quiet area in between showers and had bracing windy walks around Selsey Bill. Thanks for letting us stay.
Our stay was comfortable and the cottage was clean and conveniently located but sheets and towels needed to be changed once in a week for longer stays. Help with door lock was appreciated.
At Beacon Square we had a pleasant stay, with comfortable sofas and beds. Kitchen is well equipped, with washing machine and tumbler. Beds really comfay. Situated in a quiet area, but everything within short walking distance.
Birch Tree is very comfortable and ideally situated in a quiet residential area, yet close to the coast, the A27, and all amenities. The three bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. The ground floor office is excellent if you have to work while visiting. Having two bathrooms, one on each floor, is also very convenient. The washing machine and tumble drier in the downstairs bathroom are great additions. Found the Property Easy enough. Parking outside the garage was perfect. Just be aware of reversing onto the road. Getting into to the property with the key codes was perfectly OK. Ans easy to achieve. Everything you possibly need is either in the garage or on the cottage!! Which we've never had before when renting a property for a week. Very thoughtful. Dolphin Cottage is in a very quiet and pretty lane, quite close to the beach, and some shops and pubs. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean, well equipped kitchen and the two wood burning stoves are lovely to have in the winter months. We brought our bikes and enjoyed cycling around the island. The nature reserves are particularly interesting and beautiful. When we arrived at Dolphin Cottage it was very cold. Very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this wonderful apartment right in the centre of this beautiful little market town. The property had more than enough room, was very clean and the facilities were excellent. Parking and access to the property was easy, although having to wait for the electronic gates to close before you can park in the allocated space is somewhat annoying as they take an age to close. Overall we loved this stylish, elegant apartment and we will definitely return, highly recommended.
Pros: Beautiful gardens, nice outside furniture, useful if weather is good. Great parking area. Bedrooms modest size, but each has quirky individually furnished style with repurposed period furniture. Bedding used is quality 100% linen with comfortable pillows and matches decor. An excellent location right on the pebble beach. We were 10 ladies on a school reunion trip for 3 nights. The house is very well equipped in terms of crockery and cutlery, cooking utentils, beach towels, extra blankets, board games and tv im sure very much needed if you have those rainy cold days indoors. We were super lucky with the weather full sunshine all 3 days. We would have loved to have a bbq but it required a lot of cleaning and has seen better days, a replacement would be good. A beautiful, very stylish property in a wonderful location if you're looking for an out-of-town break. Tastefully furnished and good av equipment. Lovely French doors but locked with no key. A little lacking in kitchen equipment and one of the bedrooms has inadequate curtains, unless you don't mind being woken up at dawn sunlight.
Pros - great location, near pub and nice coffee shop. Short walk to beach. Cons - not very clean on arrival, mould problem in bathroom, strong damp smell throughout property. Had planned to cook but found mould growing on wooden spoons and cobwebs on the pans - so ate out instead! Having read through the comments in the visitor book we could see these issues had been raised several times, so it’s disappointing they haven’t been addressed. Would not stay again.
Church Cottage is a comfortable mid terrace house. It was ideal for 3 adults and a small elderly dog. The patio garden is enclosed so secure for the dog and a suntrap later in the day. The house is tastefully furnished and quite spacious. Considering it is a self catering holiday let, the kitchen could be better equipped with some new baking trays and a saucepans with lids that match. Candy Corner is well appointed, comfortable and a great accommodation for four people. It sleeps six, with two beds in a separate building, but occupants would need to walk outside to enter the main house to use the bathroom and toilet. Kitchen was well equipped. Lounge was spacious with comfortable chairs, settee and dining table. TV had Freeview channels and was easy to use. We had chosen what we thought would be a good property for our family gathering. While it was big enough and there was enough crockery, cutlery etc, there were a number of issues. 1} the cooking implements, pots, pans etc were inadequate for a house that we had rented for 9 people but I think actually advertises its for 12. Merriesands is ideally situated for a beach holiday with a nice little garden. But, needs hot, sunny weather. The accommodation is basic. Hot water only runs in one place at a time and there are no adequate drying facilities. The landlord controls the heating and is impervious to the vagaries of the English climate,
I had to take the hosts to the small claims court to obtain compensation. Having to go to trial was a long and stressful process but I wanted to wait until I had received an authoritative court judgement before submitting a review. Property has many positives. Location, Parking, Facilities, Comfy Beds. However, somes areas need improvement.. Wrong keypad code given, resulting in telephone calls to owner and agent. Rectified bit not ideal start. Upstairs Shower, does not drain quickly and will flood if not rectified shortly. Washing Machine, grey rubber seals need a good clean as they are very dirty. No hand towels provided. Seating on lounge includes 2 floor cushions, which is not as described. Not ideal for people with mobility issues. Tv could do with more instructions as does Central Heating.
