The house was almost perfect for our three generational family of 12. Lots of both indoor and outdoor space for everyone to enjoy. We particularly liked the large lounge/kitchen/diner. Two large gardens with a trampoline and swings for the little ones and space to play badminton and football.

I say almost perfect because there were only three bathrooms. As one was en-suite that meant two bathrooms for ten guests. The showers were good except for the one in the en-suite which wasn't a proper shower, just a shower head over the bath.

I would like to make a suggestion that a stair rail should be provided.

Housekeeping issues:
1. Not enough toilet rolls.
2. No dishwasher or washing detergent provided.
3. The sheet on the king size bed in the en-suite room was too small and wouldn't stay put.

This was my second stay at Shires Barn. When I walked in the first time I knew I wanted to go back, and I arranged a gathering of 12 for a birthday weekend.

There is so much space - with 3 separate sitting areas and two garden spaces, there are lots of opportunities for a bit of quiet time if needed, but equally, the main communal space is perfect for eating, chatting, drinking and, it turns out, a silent disco!

Copious parking, really well furnished and comfortable accommodation, lovely gardens, and all a short drive from the coast or Chichester.

I can't recommend Shires Barn highly enough.

We visited Shires barn as a group of 8 adults and 5 children, it was perfect for this group! The space was huge and living areas were far enough away from bedrooms to not wake the children at night! The garden spaces and trampoline etc were amazing for the little ones. The space was well thought out, beautifully decorated and in a great location.
The only feedback we had is that we couldnt find a handbook so didnt know where to put bins etc and there was no number ot call other than for emergencies which this wasn't. This was minor feedback and our stay was amazing, we would recommend without hesitation.

Shires Barn has everything thing for all ages to enjoy. The trampoline in the garden was a huge hit with the children as was the separate lounge for movie nights. Enjoyed having the Aga to cook on, great for large family meals. Plenty of room for the ‘cooks’ to move around in the kitchen area. Lots of parking. Lovely short walk by the river into the village.

We thought Shires Barn was a fantastic place to stay for a group of 12 people. The main kitchen cum living room is a great space for everyone to gather, cook, eat and relax in. Very well equipped kitchen and we particularly liked having an Aga in addition to the Smeg range cooker. Lots of ovens to heat up all the food we'd taken with us! All the bedrooms were spacious and comfy. Perhaps our only negative comment would be that the master suite could do with a proper shower in the bathroom and better lighting in the bedroom. This certainly wouldn't deter us from booking again though, just thought we would mention it.

Westbourne village is very pretty and the local fish and chip shop were more than helpful in delivering our supper on the first night.

Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our family pre-Christmas get-together at Shires Barn.

A reasonably well equipped house with fantastic open space for entertaining and eating. Lovely snug for TV watching means those who want some peace and quiet can go elsewhere. Could do with a few more items in kitchen, e.g. cafatiere for making coffee (one nespresso maching for 14 people is not enough). But apart from that all great, thank you.

Really beautiful property, well designed in a lovely location. It fitted 12 of us well . The property is in a pretty village , 10 minutes to Bosham harbour and 25 minutes drive to West Wittering. We would book this again

The barn is in a lovely setting, easy to find, with lots of local attractions for families and in walking distance to shops / pubs. The house is beautiful, with 2 separate gardens. The building itself is huge and lovely interiors. A lovely sociable kitchen with an aga so it can get a bit toasty inside. Very well stocked kitchen with pots / pans / utensils.

Unfortunately there were noisy building works right outside when we were staying which we weren’t warned about beforehand which disrupted nap time for our little ones & made it rather stressful / put a dampener on our holiday for 2 of the 3 days.

There’s also very low water pressure I expect due to the size, so you can’t have more than one shower or bath at a time. We managed but I expect it would be harder with a large group of adults.

We had a brilliant time celebrating a special occasion in a great venue. Lots of room for all generations to spread out and be together as well as have some space! We especially enjoyed the large kitchen/diner/lounge area. Any ‘teething’ problems with the property were quickly resolved.
