Fodol - Lavender Cottage is a 5* superb detached barn conversion stylishly designed and furnished. This cottage is situated in a peaceful woodland setting with ample room for children to play in complete safety. It has views over open countryside and Snowdonia yet is only 5 minutes drive from Menai Bridge which is a lively town offering excellent restaurants, hotels and a wide variety of shops and pubs. This area is ideal for coastal path walks. Family friendly.

Lovely location and well equipped, it’s just a shame that the decor and bathrooms were all tired and in need of redecorating/new installing (in particular the downstairs en-suite really needed the ventilation addressing as it smelt decidedly damp). The 5 star rating that the cottage advertises itself with online was misleading as the 5 star classification certificate displayed in the cottage was dated 2013. Overall the cottage could have done with a thorough deep clean too.

Lavender cottage was in a remote place but within an easy reach of shops and places to eat. The cottage had all the things you would need for a comfortable stay. The hosts were on hand and reacted quickly to a slight problem we had. The WiFi was intermittent but the sheep in the neighbouring field didn’t seem to mind the intrusion when needing to use our mobiles. This is the perfect place to completely switch off and unwind.
