This booking was a late decision and how lucky were we! An excellent choice, right in the village, opposite the heritage centre for superb coffee and cakes. Steve was most welcoming, lovely touch to provide cake and tea etc. Short walk to the harbour and beaches and free carpark just behind the house. We couldn't have asked for more. We all want to return.
We've stayed here 4 times now, 3 times in the upper apartment. We are four older ladies so have a bedroom each. It's so quiet at weekends a lovely relaxing environment for us to tootle around or just stay in and watch movies....it is spacious, clean and meets all our needs. With the added benefit of having our shopping delivered by a local supermarket just perfect. This is a great place to stay for all types of groups from families to everyone.
Fabulous break for all ages of our family. We all loved it and can highly recommend. We all really enjoyed the hot tub with the fabulous views. The children even enjoyed it in the rain! Excellent, we cannot wait to visit again in 2020.
Booked last minute and had a fabulous holiday. The location is excellent for days out and the Anglesey Coastal walks and very dog friendly. Some great places to eat within the vicinity also.
Really lovely cottage like being at home there’s everything you need and the owners are welcoming, really good location to visit lots of places , a place you will return to in the future
A beautiful location and so peaceful, Lodge was in quiet place in the village , ideal for our springer Benji to be able to run around with no restriction. The lodge was lovely and clean inside , weather was good which enabled us to sit outside on veranda & enjoy a glass of wine after our walk across the fields to the Priory and the Lighthouse . Highly recommended
Simdde Wen is a lovely cottage, very well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels etc. It's like a new pin when you arrive, I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere so clean and well appointed. Everything works and the shower is brilliant. The owners couldn't have been more helpful when we were there and best of all, so central to Beaumaris. We will definitely be staying there again, whether it be for a weekend or another week next year!
We are four mature ladies with specific accommodation needs. This was wonderful, all ground floor and looked like no one had ever stayed before it was so clean and very spacious. A couple of problems but property quite new and I'm sure they will be sorted out. A great place to stay and we will be definitely be back in 2018.
Lovely cottage set in the heart of Beaumaris, has everything you need for a stay. Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Second visit to this property over the New Year, would like to visit in the spring/summer months and make full use of the garden.
Pleasantly surprised by this lovely cottage which is in a great location in quiet surroundings. The cottage is well furnished, clean, tastefully decorated and cosy. All the appliances worked perfectly and we had a wonderful stay. We really appreciated the red wine and cava, plus the cake and biscuits, very nice touch. We had a very relaxing stay and we hope to return soon.
We stayed at Spring Cottage, Fodol for the week of our Golden Wedding and were joined by our son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. The cottage was all we could have wished - sparkling clean, beautifully equipped, and with plenty of room for four adults and two boisterous boys under 5. The location was ideal, apparently remote in the Anglesey countryside, but in reality only a few minutes from Waitrose and the other services of Menai Bridge. Spring Cottage had everything needed for a marvellous holiday. The beds were comfy, there were plenty of bathrooms and showers, excellent kitchen fac...more
property had been looked after well, was very warm-- no need to use heating-- enjoyed visit. Owner very considerate & checked periodically that everything was ok. provided tips on how to use digital facilities & services. Happy to fully recommend taking this holiday let. 11 out of 10 score
We have stayed in the area in various holiday lets in Trearddur Bay over the past few years and this little gem was fantastic. Great location near the beach, and only a short walk to pubs and restaurants. The accommodations is surrounded by beautiful grounds, and we could not fault anything. We highly recommend this property and will be back.
apart from the dish washer packing up on us on the 24th xmas day hand washing and unblocking the front grate every thing else ok like I said before we will be back for a 3rd
We had a great stay at the apartment. It was well equipped with everything you might possibly need for a holiday. The apartment is very well decorated and the views from the balcony are absolutely fantastic! The beach is about a ten minute walk downhill, walking back with a toddler and a small child wasn't as easy! Benllech beach is lovely, well worth the visit.
A stunning property in an equally stunning location, the house is very well planned to meet everyone’s needs including our four legged friends, if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy then Spindrift is definitely it
Our hosts Teresa & dave were excellent hosts the cottage was cosy and warm. Plenty of information about the area. Our dog was made very welcome there was even a welcome bowl of dog biscutes, they were soon gone. We will certainly be back. Shame about weather this did not stop us enjoying our holiday. This obviously new property provided us with excellent standard accommodation. Everything was clean and new. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the bedding high quality. There were a few things missing, for example, we couldn't find a teapot or instructions on heating and hot water, but presume these were because it was all so new Thank you for a lovely stay
A tricky place to find, but upon arrival all of this became irrelevant. The setting was perfect, the house was clean and tidy and the views spectacular. A most enjoyable location to stay for a peaceful stay in the heart of nature. Will go again !
Ideal location for a base from which to explore Anglesey & North Wales. I have mobility problems and the layout of the Coach House met all my needs. The owners, who live on site, were lovely, helpful people who contributed to making our stay a very memorable one.
We loved being at Cable, lots of walks with the dogs. Cottage was cosy and just like coming home. It was good to be back.
Perfect location, fabulous watching the sea come in and out every day. Flat very comfortable, warm and cosy. Everything you needed was available from a day on the beach to cooking a nice meal
What a fantastic location and fabulous house. When I say house I actually mean home. We immediately felt at home and were welcomed by text and a basket of treats. Having en-suites to every room saved queues in the morning and the downstairs bedroom was ideal for our elderly Grandad. All the rooms were thoughtfully decorated and the kitchen was brilliantly stocked. We cooked at home mostly, however did venture into the Stag and the Hotel at the top of the hill. Both offered a warm welcome and good fare. The beach was fantastic for our dogs who are now sulking that we are home. The only criticis...more
I stayed here with my parents and young son for a relaxing break. The cottage is lovely. There are stunning views of the Menai Straits and a little pier right outside where my son went fishing for crabs each evening. At night we played board games that were available in the cottage. The beds are comfortable, there’s a choice of bath and shower and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, including a full oven, pots and pans and a dishwasher. Booking was straightforward. We were well-placed to get to all the sights around Anglesey. The beaches are fantastic. Lovely.
Wonderful place to stay, gorgeous beach, peaceful, full of character and history. A true escape for a lovely holiday. There's no Wi-Fi and poor phone reception within the very thick stone walls so don't go if these are important to you. If you want to see wildlife and relax this is the pace for you.
Unique place to stay, a great place for a family get together, very clean with everything you needed. Loved the wheelbarrow touch, the deckchairs and the welcoming flowers on arrival. You needed a car but a nice beach not to far away for the younger members of the party. The whole site was well planned and beautiful laid out with flowers and lawns, wish we could have stayed longer. - perhaps next year!!
The Moorings was a perfect venue for holiday. Its' location is perfect, on the coastal path and overlooking the ever changing scenes of a coastal bay. We four ladies go away each year for a catch up. After our walks we relaxed with books admiring the peaceful outlook. The house is perfectly appointed with every requirement you could think of. There is a good convenience store and a cafe that serves good food. The only down side was that we were only there for 3 days!! As the saying goes 'We will return'
We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay at Fort Belan we are already wondering how soon we can return. It is a magical place and we both enjoyed being able to visit such amazing sites in North Wales so easily, and the beautiful tranquillity of the Fort. The grounds are beautifully kept, with stunning planting tended with love and attention. I wish my garden was as nice. Yes the accommodation had a few spiders, yes the floor needed a sweep, the draw fronts needed a bit of TLC, and there was a musical recital taking place we weren't warned about one night. But the water was always ho...more
Booked for a small family get together in advance of Xmas. Beautiful arts & craft house attached one side to neighbors in a small hamlet in the middle of nowhere but 0.5 mile downhill to coastal path and Llanddona beach. Easy access to key and house. Oodles of character and very spacious downstairs with log burner in lounge. Good central heating throughout. Great WiFi. Well laid out kitchen and breakfast area. Great fan assisted double oven no issues with cooking a full Xmas dinner. Plenty of plates etc and well equipped 4 good size bedrooms 2 en-suite plus main bathroom albeit shower in...more
Lovely house very spacious, had a warm welcoming feeling. Great location within the town, which is a lovely town with friendly people. Hot tub was lovely. Another key would have been helpfull.
We love this place and through a winter week remained warm and comfortable. There are a few small issues which did not spoil our week. The drive became very muddy with all the rain and it was a constant job cleaning shoes and keeping the mud out of the house.. We did think the house keeping wasn't as thorough as previous visits. We will always return when we can. The waste bins were so full when we arrived we couldn't manage to get them to the collection point at the top of the drive. We did miss the lack of wifi.. Having said we enjoyed our week
We had a long weekend away here, close to a walk to the red wharf bay. Cottage had everything you wanted including things for the dog eg bed, bowls. Lots of info regarding use of cooker, dishwasher etc, first time I’ve known this and much appreciated. Not far to drive for beaches, lovely pubs. Would recommend
The cottage was in a fantastic spot on the estuary, it was very clean and very well equipped, excellent for families with dogs, it was lovely and warm and we enjoyed a real fire every evening, the bed was extremely comfortable so we slept well every night after our days out walking the coastal paths, the walks around the estuary and surrounding areas were amazing, there were two small supermarkets, take-a-ways, a few restaurants and Enochs fish and chip shop (definitely recommend) just a short drive away, if you want posh this isn’t for you, if you want clean, want to feel at home and totally ...more
We stayed in a cottage in Fort Belan for a week with a family of 4 (58, 54, 20 and 15 years old). We are campers but our experience with the weather in Wales made us book a cottage for our stay. It served our purpose very well. The surroundings were magnificent. The fort is made into cottages in a very nice way, with a good eye for detail. The housekeeper and the manager were available if you wanted to ask something and easy to talk to. We could see the struggle to keep everything in order. You could see the age of the place coming through. We think it's a big adventure and a lot of work to k...more
Overall this was a fantastic house, in a great location, loads of space inside and out and really well provided for in terms of furnishing, kitchen etc. Given that, the following are only a couple of small issues that might be looked at: - though generally it was well cleaned, this was a bit uneven - some areas needed a bit more going over; - the kitchen is really well kitted out but some areas could do with a bit of maintenance (e.g. things like kitchen draw coming loose/not closing properly); - we were aware that though we had good wifi, the adjacent houses had much poorer coverage and th...more
Beautiful location with fantastic views from garden. Peaceful a d well equipped and close to other places to visit by car or foot. Customer service second to none
Our large family holiday at Fort Belan during early August was a great success. Perched on the mouth of the Menai straits, this was a lovely location for those who like peace and quiet, the outdoors and the sea. We did plenty of fishing, walking, boating and kayaking and and this is the ideal place for it. Accommodation was very good - I would highly recommend this place and we hope to be back !
Pumpkin Lodge is a very good base to stay and explore the rest of the island. It felt very comfortable and homely. The table football was definitely a winner, as the kids played on it everyday! My children enjoyed playing with the other kids staying at the lodges nearby. A lovely, quiet location and close to Beaumaris. Definitely need a car as no shops or pavements near the holiday park.
Had a family holiday at Chapel Bank - it was everything we wanted and more. Great cottage with superb decor , which looked like some of it was locally sourced as noted on our trip to Beaumaris. Very close to beautiful beaches and good pubs and restaurants. A lovely 15-20 minute walk from the property through what we called the enchanted forest to Pentraeth beach.
The cottage is in a beautiful location however its tired. It appears that there were some upgrades a few years ago but there is some damp in the main bedroom around the window (the windows down stairs are difficult to open which doesn't help this situation). The sofa was quite smelly perhaps someone had slept on it and the lounge furniture overall lumpy and unsupported as was the main double bed.The cottage could benefit from new table lamps throughout and one or two in the lounge would be a great addition. The fridge/freezer is old and rusty and the fridge light has blown and was missing. The ...more
To recommend this property a total make over is required, carried out by trained trades people. The decking needs to be replaced. The vaster was to die for and we would be happy to return.
The house was very clean with lots of toilets and bathrooms. We liked it a lot. The only negatives were that the garden bore no resemblance to the photo on the website. There was a house being built in the garden and it made it look like a builder's yard. Also, the conservatory, which was huge could have done with a pool table or a table tennis table to fill it up.
