We enjoyed a relaxing 6 nights at church farm.
The cottage had all the essentials for our needs and the swimming pool and games room is a real bonus.
We used the pool twice and, as it is quite shallow that was excellent for my wife who is learning to swim. Pool area is 10/10.
We enjoyed several pleasant walks into Bradford on Avon along the canal and were very impressed with the picturesque Turleigh and Winsley villages.
Cycling - the farm is situated at the top of Winsley hill meaning a 300ft steep climb on return, the local roads are fast and quite busy. I was however able to find some quiet farm lanes toward Ashley but not able to get out much further. With hindsight it would be safer to cycle in a group.
We had problems during week with connecting the TV to the internet - the telephone number to report issues must have changed.

We took all the 7 cottages as a group, we had a brilliant time - the pool was a hit for the children and adults too, the accommodation superb and comfortable, the hosts were very welcoming and accommodating and were ready to help all the time. The sheep herding exercise was a blast for all ages.
Definitely would consider coming again.

Church Farm is in a great location, close to all the attractions we wanted to see: Bath, Bradford on Avon, National Trusts, Longleat Zoo - the price you pay for the location is fantastic.
Cottage was clean and fresh. My partner and I slept really well on the comfy bed. Kitchen well-equipped and shower was very powerful.
A couple of downsides we found:
Upon arrival, an hour after check-in time, we found the furniture wasn’t straight as though it hadn’t been put back after cleaning perhaps?
The bathroom needs a toilet brush and bleach.
A shower-mat should be installed permanently, I slipped getting in to the bath having not realised that there was a shower-mat behind the bathroom door in a bag. Please make it clear to guests that there is a mat available to them; I’m lucky to be young and agile but would fear for those getting in and out of the bath who aren’t good on their feet.
There was no leaflet on the table for 10% off at the local farm shop as promised on the Church Farm website.
Unfortunately, the WiFi was non-existent. We embraced the internet-free life but the wifi clearly needs addressing.
The factors above are our reasoning for 4 stars for value for money.
Overall, it was a lovely stay and the cottage fitted its purpose for a good-nights sleep amongst our fun-filled weekend stay.
Thank you for having us.
Perfect!

Stayed with family in 5 of the cottages. They have everything that was needed and a few little extras like a bottle of milk which was a lovely touch. Really enjoyed our stay, loved the sheep herding event. The Walnut room was great value for our celebrations and we were allowed to decorate it and use it for our family gatherings. The field outside was handy for games too.
Fabulous place for kids and dogs too. The tree in the middle of the green was a bonus during the hot spell too!
Lovely location in the countryside. Would definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful four nights at Hayleaze cottage. The cottage was lovely, well equipped, clean and quiet. It was the perfect place to stay with our 3 month old baby for our first family holiday. The pool was a fantastic bonus and was really warm, perfect for our little one. The owners were absolutely lovely before our stay and the app they provided for the cottage was really useful. The location is perfect for exploring Bradford on Avon, the canal and Dyrham Park. Would highly recommend the pub in the village and the farm shop for breakfast.
Excellent but some maintenance needed.

Smaller than expected but adequate for our purposes. Could do with some outside maintenance, door and windows need a coat of paint and some outside paving loose which is a trip hazard.
Very clean. Swimming pool excellent. Games room too hot for playing table tennis.
General very good would recommend.

We spent 4 nights in this cottage. It was small and cosy, but being nearly 90 and 91 years old we found it a little cramped, especially the access into the bathroom. The kitchen and living area was well equipped. The bathroom could do with some attention - the toilet seat was too big for the actual toilet and the slant in the floor made it feel like you might be sliding off it sideways. But most importantly the hot water situation needs looking into - we repeatedly found ourselves having to take, if we were fortunate lukewarm, but often cold showers, because the hot water had been used up in the other cottages. This is not really acceptable -especially at the price charged for 5* accomodation. Otherwise we found everything as described on the webpage.
Lovely stay during lambing!

We were very lucky during our Easter break to have varied weather. We went on some lovely walks (local walking maps available in the games room) and spent time looking at the farm as a booked activity. The games room and pool were great during wet weather. Pool is lovely and even with the cottages (and yurt) fully booked we had it to ourselves a couple of times. The cottages are all very close together with a little green in the middle so we could hear other kids playing and that encouraged the kids to play together which was really lovely. Accommodation: really tiny but cosy cottage. Good kitchen equipment. Small fridge, oven, microwave. Comfy bed, nice clean bathroom. The outside of the cottages look tired but I gather they’re working on that. The farm activity was great and I really recommend it. We loved holding baby lambs and learning about lambing season. I’d read about being close to the road but luckily we were closest to the farm in the 2 bed. I could hear traffic (it’s a busy fast road) but it wasn’t bothersome, especially at night. The farm shop and pub are very nearby for nice meals out. We’re local ish but others took advantage of being near Bath and Bristol etc, both easy drives or bus rides away. I’d go back, but probably again at Easter as the lambing was what made it special. Oh and it felt more like an Airbnb as there’s no reception and no staff other than those on the farm with the sheep. I did text with a couple of questions and was answered, although not that quickly. Also: you’ll need wellies for the farm and local area in general.

Another great stay at Church Farm. There have been some problems with the heating, but they have supplied electric heaters to keep the place cosy. Great facilities, nice people, and a quiet, attractive place to stay.

We had a lovely family weekend at CFCC , with excellent surroundings and helpful staff. It was a lovely setting , near Bradford on Avon and the Seven Stars pub in Winsley was nice too. Great for family groups,we used the swimming pool at the farm a bit and the function room perfect for our purposes.

We booked out all the cottages at Church Farm to accommodate a family and friends celebration weekend. There were several couples with youngsters and the availability of the pool was a real hit with all the children and some of their parents too. A great facility whether the weather is inclement or not. The games room was also well used, and we held a table tennis tournament for the adults.
All the cottages were very well equipped with good quality linen and kitchenware including a full set of sharp knives – something we rarely find in a rental property but certainly gets 10/10 from us. There is also a Smart TV in every cottage.
The space in front of the cottages is surrounded by hedgerows and gates, which is ideal, as the children could not inadvertently wander into the car park. It also provided a great communal space for everyone to enjoy socialising together. The owners lent us a gas BBQ which we made good use of, and we thank them for that.
We had the option to use the function room but happily the weather was relatively kind to us, and we did not need to decamp into this at all. However, it is a bonus to have it available if required.
We would certainly recommend this venue to anyone.

Ideal little cottage for our holiday. Had everything we could need. Really enjoyed the lambing experience on the farm too. Had a small shared space which is fenced off and safe for our dog to use. The pool is a real bonus, our 3yr old loves that. And I think older kids would enjoy the games room. Ideally located near to a pub and great farm shop and cafe. I would highly recommend. Five stars

Enjoyed our stay at church farm.
Really lovely local village, great local pub. Close to Bath, Bradford Upon Avon. Comfortable and very clean, cosy cottages. Well equipped and the pool area is very good. Enjoyed the milk and scones left on arrival.
The farm visit side of the stay was not open when we stayed, as not yet April. We did not meet the owners at any point.
The adjacent road is busier than I expected, and fairly close to the cottages. Completely quiet inside, but would notice if eating a meal on the patio in the warmer months.

Sadly the “shine” was take away from my stay for the following reasons:
Central heating barely on
Tepid water
A drinks ring on the bedside table (I cleaned)
Cobwebs on both main lights sitting room/ bedroom (I cleaned the bedroom one)
No clear bag to put the towels in as requested upon leaving
No 10% discount voucher for Hartley Farm shop. ( in which I spent quite a lot)
On the whole the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. But to be cold and not to be able to shower and shave in piping hot water is not acceptable anywhere. There was an electric fire supplied but it wouldn’t have warmed the water up!

We booked at short notice owing to a problem arising at our original destination but the cottage was everything we could have hoped for - warm, clean and well equipped, and with clear advice and directions on use of the premises. Bed was comfortable, the lighting good and generally all we could have wanted as we were part of a family group celebrating Christmas.
