We had a wonderful stay at Cossington Park celebrating American Thanksgiving. We had a very large group, and the house was comfortable for all families. The kitchen had ample space for making the large meal, and we fit all around the large dining room table! So special! Thank you!

Very comfortable - lovely bedrooms and plenty of social spaces. The whole place was wonderfully furnished and spotlessly clean. Grounds are lovely.

Great kitchen space. Loved the kitchen / breakfast room / scullery / utility arrangement. That worked really well for us. We catered for 18 and had plenty of space to prep and everything we needed to cook and serve in style.

Our 3 nights were perfect - we had everything we needed and didn’t even go outside the gate! May need to go back to explore Somerset a little more!

11 adults and 7 grandchildren gathered for my 70th birthday celebration weekend, and we were blown away by the whole set up…the main house and the cottage, and with wonderfully kept grounds too. We agreed that we have seen such wonderfully equipped rental properties…there was absolutely nothing left out, including excellent crockery, glassware and cookware. The whole living space was so at atmospheric and comfortable, and all the family pictures and little touches around the place made it all feel so homely. The grounds were fully secure so that our dog had a free roam and had a great time! All in all, 11 out of 10 and we will be back!

Our stay at the Estate was just amazing. Both the house and the cottage were very accommodating. The cottage provided very good wheelchair access and facilities for one of our party and the grounds on the Estate were so vast and pretty, our dogs were in their element especially with their little hampers too. There was nothing more we could ask for, with so many personal touches as well, it was perfect.

This was the 3rd year in a row my family have stayed at Cossington Park for the May bank holiday.
We were a group of 22 comprising 14 adults and 8 children. We hired the main house and the adjacent cottage.
This is the best large property we have hired for a number of years. All the rooms are beautifully furnished to a very high standard.
The kitchens are well stocked with items for self catering which we used most of the time.
We also used an outside caterer for 3 days who was recommended by the owner which was very good.
The gardens are fabulous and the main lawn is ideal for group games etc.
Overall a very good property for a large group.

Although I was dreading the big "six oh" birthday, we ended up having the most marvellous weekend at Cossington Park. There were 19 of us so we rented both houses and they were perfect. Immaculately clean, warm and well equipped. Graham and his team were outstanding hosts and guided me in advance to find a caterer and an amazing spa therapist who arrived on Saturday morning to offer massages and facials. The dining room was wonderful for the big birthday dinner on Saturday night and there's even a five a side football pitch in the grounds that helped blow away the cobwebs on Sunday morning. We had the best time.

The house and cottage exceeded our expectations. Nineteen of us gathered for a family Christmas and the house and cottage provided perfect accommodation for all ages from 7 to 78. The facilities and equipment were more than adequate and having 2 dishwashers was a great help! The houses were decorated beautifully for Christmas and the layout of the rooms meant that it never felt crowded.

From the moment we arrived the house felt welcoming and homely, unlike some holiday lets that lack character. There are photographs and paintings of family and snippets of family history that made us feel as though we were guests in their house. We also had the use of the fortepiano and the pianists in the party found it an interesting instrument to play. The young members of the family made full use of the games room running table tennis and darts competitions. I would recommend it as a wonderful venue for large family gatherings and I hope we will return again one day.

When we were leaving the two youngest children said they wished they could live there and we were all sad to leave but have many happy memories of our amazing family Christmas.

We stayed at Cossington Park for a hen do weekend.
We can't thank Graham and the team enough, the house, cottage and grounds were absolutely spotless.
Everywhere was just beautiful.
Everything which was needed for our stay was there, and we couldn't want for anymore.
Chris and Debra were quick to arrive on the Saturday morning to help us with a problem, they were very prompt on answering our calls.
Provided fresh towels on the Saturday, and had a lovely chat with Debra about the history of the house and family.
Everyone had a wonderful time, and had all said how beautiful and well equipped the house and cottage were.
Thank you so much for letting us stay, would love to come back again.

The whole experience of booking and staying at Cossington Park was easy, relaxing and very comfortable.
The owner/guardian of the property couldn’t have been more helpful.

All bedrooms were lovely, beds extremely comfortable. Plenty of space, beautiful gardens - absolutely perfect . The only irritation was the number of flies (as the property is next to a farm) and although the kitchen had electric fly killers installed - it seemed clear that the flies had grown wise to these avoided them completely.

Even so - this wouldn’t put me off booking again - but it would be great if they could stock up on some fly spray!

They are troublesome only for a limited period in certain conditions in the summer. As well as the fly killers, we provide ample fly papers and spray. We have also fitted nets on the windows closest to the farm, and these measures do appear to make a difference, though of course the nets need to remain in place. We hired Cossington Park, house and cottage for 5 nights in August 2023 to celebrate our Anniversary. 13 of us arrived on the Wednesday - the children were very excited, 4 cousins who don't see each other very often. The children had all enjoyed looking at the plans of the house online and I had already allocated all the bedrooms and they all knew their way around from the start. They also enjoyed running off and exploring the grounds. The caterer delivered our dinner and we had a lovely meal.
During our stay we had arranged for the Archery activity and the Birds of Prey to come to the site and both were very successful. We had ages from 6 to 83 and everybody could take part.
We were quite lucky with the weather and all enjoyed the badminton, pool and table tennis as well. Altogether, everybody voted it a very successful celebration in a very roomy and comfortable environment.

We had the privilege of staying at Cossington Park recently.
We were looking for somewhere for our family to stay, which was suitable for 18 people, including accessibility for a wheelchair bound person in an electric wheelchair, animal friendly and suitable also for children.
We were celebrating 3 special Birthdays within the family this year and thought it would be great if we could all go away together & celebrate in style.
Cossington Park, looked absolutely amazing just in the pictures and in real life certainly did not let us down, infact it was more than we could’ve expected.
From the initial enquiry stage, right through to booking and then arriving there, Graham & his Team couldn’t have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Graham answered any questions we had.
We received 3 lovely welcome hampers full of delightful goodies, the 2 dogs which were with us, also received their own little hamper.
The cleanliness, all the little details in each room and beautiful grounds were idyllic.
We made some lovely memories and it was a weekend to definitely remember.
We have already spoke about retuning again in the not too distant future.
We would highly recommend staying here.

Cossington Park Estate was the perfect setting to celebrate a 70th birthday. The whole family (aged from 1 to 71) were able to stay, spilt between the house and cottage. Both properties were clean, well equipped and very comfortable.
The older children loved the games room and football pitch. The younger children loved the play park and large garden with space to run around.
The adults loved the history of the house, the garden, where we spent most of our time and the peaceful location.
We were all really sad to leave and hope to return again.

This was the second year we have stayed at Cossington Park for the May Bank Holiday. 22 of us stayed at the Main House and Cottage. The property is kept in immaculate condition and all the bedrooms are very comfortable. The kitchens are very well appointed and provide plenty of cutlery/crockery and pots & pans for catering a large number of people.
The gardens are fabulous and plenty of games were provided for the children.
I would recommend this property for a large group.

We returned with a large group of friends to the Park and Cottage at Cossington. It's the perfect location for all families to spend the weekend catching up and having fun. Everything you might need is on site so no need to go out. We spent a lovely 2 days in the garden exploring with the children and 2 evenings in the large dining room with the adults. A perfect weekend.

Cossington Park is a special place which is what I was looking for for a special event and it lived up to what I had been led to expect from the website.
Communication was excellent, friendly and personal.
Everything is clean and well-kept and really well thought through, so it was really easy to settle in 20 people and have a lovely time from the word go!

We had an excellent week's stay at Cossington with 14 adults, 4 children and one dog, and ages ranging from 1 to 88 years old.
The gardens were immaculate with plenty of room for the children to play and supplied many hiding places for our Easter egg hunt.
Our bake-off competition went well with both kitchens supplying enough equipment and utensils for five cakes to made at the same time, even if baking had to be slightly staggered over the three ovens.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.
Everyone thought this was a marvellous place to stay and the photo's on their website are accurate and realistic.

Excellent weekend stay for a family of 11 adults and 5 young children in a house that kept on giving. It felt like a family home with bags of space, fascinating memorabilia and every comfort needed to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable gathering. Three families comfortably accommodated in the main house and adult couples in the cottage ( a child free zone!). The catering on Saturday evening surpassed expectations as did the grounds, games room and children's play area.

One minor issue arose on our arrival in that we could not gain access to the accommodation. This was quickly addressed by the owner who provided access codes which were not issued prior to our arrival.

26 members of my family stayed across the two Cossington Park properties. We had the most wonderful weekend - the houses had everything we could possibly need, were immaculately clean and very comfortable.

The garden was beautiful, with plenty of space for the children to play.

I booked the house at Cossington park as a corporate evening for myself and 9 other managers to have a relaxing break and get together. What can i say the house and gounds are incredible. Amazing views and countryside location ensure a relaxing stay with a selection of local pubs and restaurants to choose from if you do not wish to cook. Graham and his team of staff cannot be anymore helpfull offering advise on arrival with lots of local information of things to do and places to go. The house itself is beautiful and every room is imaculate and offer a warm realxing environment. Little personal touches helped everyone to unwind. Everything about this house was perfect when we arrived - the rooms were lovely, it was warm, the basket of essentials int he kitchen made us feel welcome. We were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday with family, and the layout of the house with the gorgeous bedrooms and ensuites worked really well. Everyone decided it was al ovely place to stay!

We had a really lovely time at Cossington Park. We hired the house and cottage for our family celebration and the disabled access in the cottage was perfect for our needs. The team had left nothing out, everything was provided, down to local ground coffee in a hamper (and other treats) and a towel and poo bags for the dog! So many thoughtful gestures, we really were very impressed.

Whilst the downstairs of the main house is mainly flat our one observation was that there are a few small level changes which could be a problem for someone with mobility issues, however the main house doesn't claim to have disabled access and the cottage had absolutely everything you need on the level ground floor so just be aware of this if using the cottage and house.

Overall we have absolutely no complaints except that we couldn't stay for longer (secretly we wanted to move in!)

We hired the whole estate for our son's wedding and it could not have been a better location. The library was a beautiful room for the small ceremony and then we gathered in the gorgeous gardens for drinks and canapes with the rest of the day's guests. There were so many fantastic locations for photographs in the grounds that we were spoilt for choice! The houses are both wonderful and very well equipped. The team made us feel very welcome and really went the extra mile to meet all our needs, they all really helped us to have a very special day. We were over the moon with the accommodation. We hired the house and the cottage which meant we had use of the whole estate. The family ranged from 6 months to 82 years and the house gave us enough space to cook, eat and spend evenings together. The kids loved the garden and games area and everything that we could possibly need was supplied. The welcome hampers were also lovely.
I would definitely recommend either the cottage or the house to anyone and all of the family said they would return given the opportunity.
It has given my mother in law whose 82nd birthday it was some fantastic memories that she will treasure.

What a fabulous break celebrating a 60th birthday . The house and cottage are exquisite, no area is overlooked. The finishing touches are amazing and we were really warm and cosy. We catered for ourselves and the kitchen has ample equipment. The team were most helpful and even put a Christmas tree up for us, also had a lovely hamper of goodies and a gift for the birthday boy.
Can’t wait to visit again, lots to do in the area too.

We were looking for a special, quality venue for a whole family get together for my mothers 80th birthday and could not be happier that we found this wonderful place. My mother, four children all the grandchildren, youngest 11 to 26 spent the perfect weekend in Cossington and it was perfect.
Loads of room for each family to have their respective space and an array of communal areas to be together. We stayed in both the house and cottage and both were comfortable, incredibly well equipped, comfortable beds, wonderful and interesting decor and history throughout and so much to do for everyone.
We loved the incredibly well kept gardens and were fortunate with the weather so could spend a lot of time outside. The badminton courts, football pitch, table tennis, games room and even croquet were all enjoyed. We ate pears and apples from the trees, tomatoes and beans from the walled vegetable gardens.
Kate Hunt, recommended by Graham cooked us an amazing celebratory dinner on the first night and the food was delicious. All 16 of us had dinner comfortably in the wonderful library.
The two dogs could roam safely and even had their own special welcome hamper as we did we, full of lovely much appreciated goodies.
Thanks Graham and team, It really is an idyllic venue for a large party gathering and we will definitely return.

A second family get together at Cossington was as good as the first..eight adults and five children despite one family missing due to COVID. Staff were very helpful and friendly .welcome goodies enjoyed by all,including dog! Gardens amazing and we loved being able to pick available fruit and veg…..a real treat.

Words can’t really capture the experience of staying at Cossington Park. From the moment you open the red door into the garden and your breath is taken away to curling up in the comfort of a large leather sofa in the grand living room. It’s exquisite throughout. This was a joint 70th birthday celebration for my wife and I. Shared with all my children and grandchildren. It really could not have been better. We were blessed with good weather which helped. The wonderful Kate Hunt provided canapes on the lawn and a fabulous meal to follow on the Saturday night. But best of all was the space and warmth which the house and cottage provided to share a special time. This house needs people to hug and gives it back in spades. We really didn't want to go home.

We stayed here with the family - 4 generations and 3 dogs. From booking until departure nothing was a problem. The welcome team were extremely helpful with the little extra touches for ourselves and the dogs, we felt very much at home.
The house and grounds were exceptional, clean, spacious and everything you needed.
Location was good for walks from the house or nearby walks and beaches.

Stayed here for a weekend in March, 16 adults and 1 child and 3 dogs . We hired the cottage and the house, the whole estate was fantastic, we all had so much fun. The house was huge and had everything you could possibly need. The cottage was very modern and cosy.
The care packages left for us was a lovely extra touch and anything else we needed was never too much trouble.

We booked Cossington Park, so our family could spend the week together having a holiday, whilst also celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.
The venue was perfect, the grounds were wonderful for sitting together to have a drink and caterers prepared and served us a wonderful meal on our actual anniversary. There were four generations in our party ranging from 3yrs to 92yrs. All enjoyed the venue, kids loved the space and treasure hunt, some tried their hand at clay pigeon shooting and archery. Others enjoyed a cream tea and beauty treatment.
Cossington provide all washing powder, washing up liquid, tablets for dishwashers etc. Pets are also welcome and receive their own welcome hamper.
Would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed in this beautiful house recently to celebrate my husbands 70thbirthday birthday. There were eight children under 12yrs and 2 dogs so we're a little apprehensive how it would all work out. Cossington Park had got everything covered ..amusement for the children indoors and out (the children especially loved picking the fruit!) and even treats provided for the dogs. The kitchen was perfectly equipped and we could not have wished for a more enjoyable stay.

The web photos don't really do the house, bedrooms and garden justice: it was a really lovely environment for the extended
family gathering we had. As it was an old house, we expected to need our extra jumpers but it was very warm; lots of radiators, and the ability to turn them up if necessary (we didn't need to). The bedrooms were luxurious and each one had its own character; in the photos they look a bit chintzy but the old fashioned styles felt 'right' for them.
The bedding, towels and toiletries were first class and made us feel like we were staying in a 5 star hotel.
The garden was wonderful: a beautiful space to wander in and very secluded but also plenty enough space for children / dogs to
run around. We were able to walk on the Polden Hills straight from the house.
It was great that there were several sitting areas so that family members could split up into groups if they wanted to (good for
teenagers).
The kitchen was brilliantly equipped with every possible utensil and multiples of many of them so that several family members
could prepare food together. The little touches, like the hamper and the dog treats, were much appreciated.
It would have been nice to have had more history about the house. Perhaps it was in one of the folders
which we didn't find. We'd love to come back again.
The recommended outside caterer, Jacci Cawte, was excellent and prepared a Sunday lunch for 21.

We run 6 month self-development and educational programmes and as part of some of these, we include a 4 day residential. This year we chose Cossington Park for a group of 14 and it turned out to be an perfect venue. It worked for us on many levels from accommodation, equipment to cooking facilities and beautiful rest rooms. With its wonderfully kept gardens and additional cottage we will certainly be returning to Cossington Park.

WE chose Cossington for a celebration of our twins 30th birthday. The venue exceeded our expectations. It felt exclusive but homely and every room had interesting objects or curios. Christine was helpful and attentive through emails as I asked several questions. Her assistance and support meant I was able to book a falconry display that came to us ( Sharandy Birds of prey). I chose a local butchers for our catering needs who were superb. (Pynes of Somerset). There was space for everyone and yet it felt cosy and personal.
Would love to book again - maybe for their 40th . . .

Two major family celebrations (10 years apart) and two major successes. Cossington Park is a wonderful, welcoming, elegant (yet homely) property and all the staff dealing with our booking were helpful, pleasant and could not do enough for us. They even made my sister's dogs welcome.

The grounds are superb (albeit somewhat wet the weekend we were there) and the the Cottage (not there 10 years' ago) was a fantastic addition, allowing us to spoil more of our family and friends than last time around. Indeed, my husband (whose 60th we were marking) and I would very much like to come back to the Cottage and enjoy the wonderful open plan living area and delightful garden and patio that has been provided.

The main house is simply lovely, with a range of hospitable living rooms, a marvellous and outstandingly well equipped kitchen, scullery, laundry and enough TVs, DVDs, books etc to satisfy even the most exacting of people. It is well located for transport routes and there are good amenities quite close by, even the emergency Coop in Woolavington has its charms - only 5 minutes by car.

We stayed at Cossington Park and House for 4 nights during August and it was fabulous.

For a large group of 16 adults and 7 children, the 2 properties gave us exactly what we needed. The large rooms and flexible bedding set-ups allowed for each family unit to have the space and bedding they needed, and the separation of the cottage gave us non-children people a little respite from the madness!

The house had every amenity we could need in each building, and the gardens and surrounding were a fantastic safe, contained playground for the various aged children amongst our group. We were lucky to get a few sunny days and sitting out in the equipped garden having a BBQ was great. In true British weather style, we were then able to go indoors when it got chilly and light the fire!

We also used the recommended services of Jaccui at Mark Country Catering - she provided wonderful ad hoc catering for us, and I thoroughly recommend the very reasonable catering services she provides.

The location is fabulous in a beautiful, quiet little village with just a post office and a nice pub (we had Sunday lunch at the pub and they couldn't have been more accommodating). We were able to head off on a walk in the fields and footpaths just a few minutes away with all the littlies in a safe and beautiful environment.

I'd recommend the properties for a large group - with or without little people- for a relaxing village stay in the beautiful Somerset Mendips. Thank you for having us!

We took both the cottage and main house for a girly group catch up and couldn't have been more delighted. Perfect location being near the motorway as some had travelled far so didn't want miles of lanes and minor roads after that!
House is so interesting and quirky yet beautifully presented and equipped down to blu-tac and spare pens. Quite marvellous!! It was so good to all be able to dine together and the kitchen coped easily in terms of oven space/crockery etc. Yet it was fabulous to be able to have various lounges and the vast gardens to catch up in smaller groups.

We were all so impressed with Cossington and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Just a shame o didn't have my kids with me as they would have been in seventh heaven with all that garden space and play equipment!!

14 of us celebrated a surprise 70th birthday for my husband. What a blast. Everybody said it was the best weekend they had had. It could not have gone better.
The rooms are beautiful, the beds made up with beautiful linen and the softest towels are provided.

We stayed at Cossington Park to celebrate our mothers 80th Birthday. We chose Cossington because of it slept 22 but our priority was having disability facilities. The House and Cottage were above and beyond our expectations, it is a beautiful property steeped in history and antiques whilst maintaining a very homely, family feel. The house offered brilliant facilities that cater for all ages from babies through to the older generation. We self catered and the kitchen facilities and equipment were second to none and made food prep and storage very easy!

From the moment we parked the car and walked through the gardens we were impressed by the beautifully tended lawns and the colourful borders. Park House certainly lived up to its promise, oozing with character yet with every convenience you would expect from a high end self catering property. Park Cottage complimented the main house with its thoughtful refurbishment which continues the theme of the main house and also has a downstairs bedroom with disabled access. The Library dining room was full of warmth and charm for our large family dinners and the lovely garden furniture provided an excellent focus point during the day whilst we chatted, played croquet, boules and badminton, or just found a quiet corner to completely relax. Ann and Dulcie prepared all the meals and they said the kitchen was really well equipped and the large cooker made the going easier. Our friends and family did not want to leave and we are sure to book again before long. I would certainly recommend this special house and gardens which offers the perfect location for a get together across the generations.

We had a fantastic weekend celebrating my Auntie's 60th at Cossington Park. The layout of the house and cottage was perfect for our party, and there were no disputes about bedrooms because they were all lovely! Everyone really enjoyed the garden, especially the badminton, table tennis and croquet and just sitting round the enormous table chatting. The kitchen was great- very well equipped and easy to find your way around- and we had 2 lovely big meals in the dining room. The only problem was that we didn't really want to leave! A couple more days would have been perfect. We would definitely love to come again.

House was good for party (we were there for a stag). Kitched was well equipped and there was lots of fridge and larder space. The only element that let the house down was the poor shower facilities; a minor thing but quite important when you get back and have been out all day in the cold and wet!

My whole family were very favourably impressed with both the house and the cottage, They are really well equipped- everything you could possibly need and more!
The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are beautifully decorated.
We had an amazing weekend and were particularly lucky with the weather which meant the children could play outside in the beautiful gardens.

From initial inquiry, we felt very well looked after. Lorraine was great and talked us through all the information answering all of our questions. When we got to the house we were blown away - it is beautiful! So much character. Not only are the house and gardens great but they are also really well appointed, spotlessly clean and really comfortable. The welcome hamper was lovely and we had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave!

From the moment we stepped through the garden door we were enchanted. The beautiful gardens and large but homely cottage provided an idillic setting for our family to enjoy a most memorable holiday. It was like stepping back in time watching the children play in the grounds and we all enjoyed exploring the books and antiques in the house. We also rented the new cottage which enabled easy access for a wheelchair and allowed enough space for all 23 of us (and the dog!). The staff were most helpful and very respective of our privacy.

We got married at Cossington Park this June 2015. It was absolutely perfect. The team had prepared everything before our arrival and ensured we had everything we needed and that everyone would feel at home. Everything had been thought about. Even our dog was very looked after- he had a toy and some snacks waiting for him on his arrival.

The sleeping accommodation was of an excellent standard and the new cottage is absolutely perfect, comfy beds with kitchen, welcome basket and everything you could need for a great stay (including milk already in the fridge for tea and coffee). Baths were wonderful. The location is blissfully quiet. We used the recommended caterers and they could not have been a higher quality or better value for money. Everyone had a smile on their face and their sole aim was to accommodate and make sure everyone was happy.

The gardens were stunning and well looked after. We and our guests were invited to eat the fruit from the garden that was in season. We were trusted to make ourselves at home and use the BBQ and games (rackets, croquet on the lawn and ping pong table too) as we liked. We had the most perfect day and we felt we were getting married at our (rather grand) home rather than somewhere we had rented out for the event.
