It's a perfectly nice cottage as long as you know what you are renting. It isn't like a hotel or B&B, but more akin to borrowing someone's house. So it comes with plenty of instructions for use and check-out.

For example, all trash needs to be collected from bathrooms and rooms to centralized bins, and there is no glass recycling at the property so you'll need to take glass with you or find somewhere else to recycle. They have amenities like firewood and dish/laundry soap, but no toiletries (no shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, etc).

Note there are also two gates that need to be opened and closed behind as you enter/leave the property, so it's alright when it isn't cold and rainy and if you are young/strong. Our elderly relative wasn't able to manage one of the gates by herself.

I could recommend this property to a group who comes prepared and is used to housesitting - but if you are looking for a hotel or B&B experience, you should look at options that align more with what you're used to.

Absolutely loved this cottage, and the location. A little piece of heaven. It's close to so many beautiful hikes, little museums, and the perfect getaway from the city life.

Interior: Can't complain about a thing! The cottage decor is beautiful. The kitchen is well-stocked, having a washing machine is incredibly useful. Everything you need for your visit to the majestic Isle of Skye.

Exterior: For visitors not familiar with croft/farm stays (including me), the cottage is set within a working farm, so, after you enter the first gate, you'll be (carefully) driving through sheep to get to the cottage. It's not a problem at all, in fact, the farmers who own the land are lovely. Once you get to the cottage, there is a second fence that keeps the sheep out. Once you're inside, it's a joy to see the little lambs (and bunnies!) hopping outside your window. Just something to be aware of. :-)

Instructions: Finding the key, turning on the hot water, connecting to wifi was all easy. The management was very responsive if I needed anything. The only suggestion I would make would be to provide photos of the entrance, since GPS takes you to 5 South Duntulm, not 2 South Duntulm, and the cottage can't be seen from the main road. Other than that, a spectacular stay!!!

The property at 2 south duntulm is just amazing. It is cozy, secluded, has beautiful views of sea and mountains and the team at Islands and Highlands cottages were so helpful in resolving our queries.

We enjoyed our stay a lot.
Would highly recommend and would definitely like to visit again.
