An attractive property Thoughtfully developed as a holiday retreat Cosy and comfortable Well equipped and a lovely place to relax in
Fully equipped house with all you need. Clean crisp white bed linen. Warm and spacious. Tastefully decorated. Very enjoyable stay and seeing the seals each morning and evening was an added treat. Thankyou.
This is our second visit to Katie Ann's Cottage and it did not disappoint, LOVED IT! What a shame the week had to end. Thank you for a wonderful week.
Stunning property in a stunning location. Spotlessly clean, cosy, really comfortable, brilliantly well-equipped...we've stayed in a lot of self-catering properties and this rates among the best. All this plus a stunning location: Ord is beautiful and so quiet. Fabulous views of the Cuillin and the wildlife was incredible - spent a lovely half hour watching a pair of sea eagles from the cottage, plus saw golden eagles and an otter. Fabulous walking - a perfect week away. Can't recommend MacKinnon highly enough - thank you!
We spent an unforgettable week in the spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished One Mill Lands house and could find absolutely no faults. In fact it was way beyond our expectations with touches of luxury one seldom sees in rented accommodation. Excellent communication from the rental agency as well as a bottle of wine and heart-shaped Scottish shortbread on arrival set the tone for a delightful stay. The location could not have been better as our son got married in the Quiraing area which is a short drive away as are many other Skye landmarks such as the Fairy Glen and the stunning Rha waterfall...more
Four Winds is very clean and comfortable and is very well equipped. The location is great and the views are amazing . The enclosed garden was excellent for our dog . I would certainly recommend this pet friendly accommodation.
As soon as we arrived we felt like at home, cozy , warm, very clean, very well equipped we found everything we needed and even more. We can’t find one thing to complain about. Located perfectly for us in a quiet neighbourhood with amazing sea views. Perfect for a walks and not far distance from town and shops (15 minuets drive) Thank you for a lovely welcome basket and a wonderful Christmas , see you soon!!
We had a wonderful stay at Blue Sea Cottage! The view from the home is amazing and the sun room is the perfect place to enjoy it. The bedrooms are comfortable with nice linens. The bathroom is large and the bathtub was such a luxury. The kitchen space and cooking supplies were perfect for us to cook meals every day. We are already eager for a return trip to Skye!
We had just a lovely week at this fabulous cottage. The cottage is so very comfortable and has everything you could ever need while away from home. The location is wonderful and a great base to explore the best Skye has to offer. We would love to come back to this spot and we really didn't want to leave. It's a very special place.
Allderburn House was in the perfect location, less than 5 min walk into the centre of Portree. A very well equipped and comfortable house. A perfect base for exploring Skye. Highly recommend.
very enjoyable week in duirnish, scenery spectacular and duirnish lodge and gardens a very nice place to stay
Claigan View was everything my wife and I wanted this Christmas - luxury accommodation in the middle of nowhere in a place very close to our hearts. The Isle of Skye is stunning and waking up to the magnificent views from the cottage was spectacular. Everything was perfect, and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending to our family and friends and anyone else looking for an unforgettable holiday on Skye! We loved every second of our stay at Claigan View.
The house is really isolated onkz surrounded by the beautiful quiraing and some sheep. It has got a nice stove which gives You the warmth needed after a long day outside. The kitchen offers all equipment necessary and it has even got a wash Maschine. The bath is always warm and the house has its own water supply by an own spring with wonderful water. The best place to start your own journeys through the Isle of Skye.
A wonderful property with amazing views. The cottages was furnished to a very high standard with everything a family could wish for. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed at. Very comfortable and cosy yet spacious. We highly recommend Ard Na Mara and will stay stay there again.
The cottage is really nice and cosy. It's comfortable and well kept. The large sleeping room is a wee bit smelly - this may be due to the house’s age. When staying at the cottage don't forget to pay the old cemetery a visit. It's also worth googling its history.
Cute traditional white washed cottage that has been fully modernised and is well equipped, including washing machine and dishwasher. Perfect for a couple with a spacious and open plan layout and stairs that lead straight up to a very comfortable double bedroom and large bathroom with separate large shower cubicle. The location is fantastic as you are within touching distance of the water and with a south westerly aspect enabling you to catch the sun throughout the day and enjoy beautiful sunsets. Whilst it is a fairly rural and peaceful spot down a quiet lane, you are only a couple of mi...more
We had a great time at the cottage. It was well stocked with kitchen utensils, and all the appliances worked well. However the washer took a very long time to complete it's cycle, even in the "quick" setting. So just keep that in mind. The heat, and particularly the electric fireplace, worked great, and really warmed us up on the cold, wet nights. The customer service was excellent, even allowing us to have a small item shipped to their office before our arrival.
We enjoyed a lovely winter week in this cottage, which is spacious with a cosy fire and has gorgeous views over to the sea. Phil and Joan live nearby and looked after us well, without intruding, and even made helpful recommendations for local walks for us. The location is great. Rural and peaceful, yet pretty close to several excellent places: Talisker Bay, Talisker distillery, 2 great pubs and of course the amazing Cuillin mountains. Thank you, we certainly hope to return soon.
We have visited Skye before. It is a well worn path, but have not enjoyed our stay so much as at Taob na Mara. The view is stunning, the accommodation clean, comfortable and stylish, with lots of small and well considered touches. What a great place to unwind. We will be back as soon as possible. John & Eimear
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bayview Cottage. We were a family of three and there was more than enough space. The cottage is exceptionally cozy, especially the lounge with fireplace (perfect for a late autumn visit). The location of the cottage is good allowing for easy access to both Skye and Wester Ross. Although Erbusaig is not as active as nearby villages such as Plockton, its lack of amenities is more than made up for by incredible views across to Skye. We didn't want to leave and would highly recommend!
We used this as a group of six to access the Cuillin. We ate around the table with plenty of room. Parked a van and a car on the drive. Pots, pans cutlery etc everything you would expect. Beautiful views across the water to the east can be viewed from the lounge. Comfy beds.
Our stay at Meadow Cottage was really relaxing from the moment on we stepped into the house. You find everything you could need, it was very tidy and spotlessly clean. The location is great! In a 5 minute walk down the farm track you find the Edinbane Inn with excellent food and local drinks. A short drive away there is a supermarket and of course many beautiful Skye attractions. It was a great stay (with lots of rain, so we spent many hours inside the beautiful cottage). We will definitely return some day!!!
Los dueños, encantadores. La casa muy bonita y limpia. Muy buen situada. Hemos pasado una semana estupenda en Sky. Laura
Our group of 8 had a truly fantastic weekend at the house. It is huge and very well equipped, with a couple of the bedrooms standing out as being of the quality you could expect in a boutique hotel. The location is great and it’s an easy walk to the amenities in Dunvegan. Highly recommended.
What should I say? Our week in Johnny's cottage was just great: cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, close to the picturesque village of Stein and most of all, arriving after a long trip in a warm, enlightened house with wine, crisps and cookies waiting for us. We had a wonderful time!
We travelled as a group of 5 (3M/2F) from a camera club to do a week of photography. The property is in a super location rignt by the lochside and you can see 'The Lump' of Portree town centre. With all rooms (3 in house and 1 in Annex) en-sute as well as a communal bathroom it was great coming back at the end of an exhilirating Skye winters day not having to queue for showers! The accommodation is superb and being in the centre of the Island it minimises the travel distances you have to travel each day to visit the other incredible Skye locations. It is no wonder that something like 25 pr...more
We had a four day stay towards the end of October. The house itself was very clean and generally comfortable, although it was rather cold on arrival and, because the main downstairs heating is underfloor, it took several hours to get it up to temperature. This could be avoided by reprogramming the central heating timer (which does not come on until 17:30) and arranging for the thermostats to be turned up on days when guests are arriving. There is a wood burner, but a very limited supply of fuel provided and, as we had no intention of going very far from Stein, we did not want to have to mess a...more
Excellent cottage very well furnished and a great place to relax.Great for families with dogs but no compromise as very well appointed and extremely clean and welcoming.
A bit off the beaten track but it’s only a ten minute drive to Dunvegan for the village shop and we knew there were lovely views across the loch to the Cuillins if the weather had been better! Spacious accommodation, all clean, attractive and new. Beds and chairs comfortable. Well equipped kitchen but furnishings in bed and living rooms rather sparse, eg only a bed and the built in wardrobes in the bedroom so took a dining chair up; and only one large low table In centre of living room so nowhere for everyone to put cups, glasses, books etc once seated. But its all very new and we unders...more
Our third time staying here and another wonderful holiday. Love the location and the cottage is well equipped and just the right size. We will be back!
We had the loveliest four days at Skyefall, checking in to a clean, bright and spacious three-bedroom cottage that had every amenity we needed. Of note was the kitchen and the living area, which was spacious and welcoming.
Really enjoyed my stay the owners made us feel very welcome. The cottage is 2 mins from the square in Portree . Recommended
Great cottage, beautiful and confortable! Everything has been really OK. Just one word to describe that: Amazing!
This cottage was well equipped and very comfortable and warm and definitely good value for money. It was a shame that the hedge was so tall that it blocked the stunning view if you were sitting down in the lounge or dining room! We also hadn't realised quite how long it would take us to drive to places from this end of the island, but that said, there is plenty to do on the Trotternish peninsula, especially if you like walking, and it was less touristy than some of the other parts so I would still heartily recommend it.
Excellent location and views. A little lacking in creature comforts Ie...no wine glasses and very basic kitchen equipment. No towel rails. Good for 2 people but a bit tight for 4. Beds were comfortable , heating very good and plenty of hot water.
The house was just what we needed for a break from the weather having been camping the previous week. The house was clean a and prefect on arrival we enjoyed the following week exploring the island and sitting in-front of the fire. The fridge was alittle difficult to control and we found it to be very cold freezing alot of food at first, apart from this the rest of the house was fantastic.
In one word “Awesome”...me, my wife and my son wanted to explore Isle of Skye. We stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful cottage. It was extremely clean, well equipped and situated in a stunning location. We enjoyed every moment of our stay here and will definitely come back! We found little bit difficult to find the cottage but that is because we arrived late in the dark.
Lovely house in a beautiful location which gives easy access to The Old Man of Storr, Fairy Glen, Portree and many more fantastic places to walk. Had a wonderful week in Skye with unbelievable weather! Loved sitting on the landing having our morning coffee looking out at the wonderful view.
Location was found to be perfect for ourselves, quiet but easy access to Portree. The cabin is well insulated and was warm. I think that a small bin/ container needs to be provided inside to allow transfer of non recyclables to be taken easily to main black bin at rear, we had to reuse a plastic bag for this.
Stunning location and a great base for exploring the island and some of the mainland. very comfortable cottage and neighbours were very friendly too. Would definitely consider staying here again
A small, practicable house in the capital of Skye with a very friendly Owner. We we're able to see a lot of Skye. It was a wonderful week. Thank you so much.
The apartment is modern and has everything you need. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bed is comfortable. I would definitely recommend this apartment.
Great Flat and Location. We were here on vacation with another couple. The Flat worked great for us. Only thing to be aware of is the 2nd bedroom is very small/tight. so it close quarters. Other than that, great spot and would stay here again
Good standard, amenities and location. Very well equipped and comfortable for my mother. Many thanks!
Amazing cottage, spacious, clean and very good space for kids. Had a wonderful time. The beach just 5 minutes away. The views from the windows of the cottage are spectaculars. Highly recommended!!!
We very much enjoyed our stay at 10 Upper Edinbane. The house was warm and inviting and we felt at home. The kitchen was well-equipped and the wood burner on the living room made the house very cozy. The location was just what we were hoping for - rural, quiet, with great views. We’d recommend this home to anyone looking for a more immersive stay on Skye.
From our first contact with Islands & Highlands cottages every step of the way has been a delight, all staff have a professional yet personal attitude when dealing with our requests. Prompt response and follow up made it an effortless transition from request to arriving at the cottage The location is stunning, right on the lochside with a backdrop of mountains surrounding us, some days dusted with snow on the peaks The cottage is superb, every eventuality and comfort is well catered for at all times, a lovely thought was the Christmas tree, completely decorated and lit, in the sun room over...more
We booked the School House for our daughter and her husband for their honeymoon. As a family we had holidayed on Skye for numerous years during our daughter's childhood. The owner and the staff of Highlands and Islands couldn't have been more helpful before whilst we were trying to sort things out for them - they really did go above and beyond - and on their arrival they found a bottle of bubbly and a congratulations card waiting for them, which was a lovely touch. Thank you! They were both very pleased with the condition of the cottage, it was very clean and tidy, the bed was very comfo...more
Always find this cottage excellent for our stay in Skye think this was our 5th year in a row ,now we call it home from home ,had a fab stay once again and look forward to next year
Super little cottage in a fabulous part of Skye. The stairs are a challenge without a doubt, however once you master the technique - no issue. well appointed kitchen which thoughtfully provides all the little bits you need to add to a dish when cooking!! The ONLY improvement would be if it was possible to get at least a simple mobile phone signal - the cottage is fairly isolated (although there is a farmhouse down the road) and having no means of contact in an emergency could be an issue. - living without a TV Signal and wifi is no big deal (unless you are constantly attached to your smart dev...more
Fabulous return stay at glen osdale 38th time on Skye . weather lived up to its name on the misty Isle but the house was a welcoming sight lovely and warm and comfy as always. We had no problems at the house and had everything we needed at hand. I'm sure we will return.
From the time we arrived we were made to feel at home & everything that was offered with the house was furfield, communication was excellent would defiantly recommend 8 Kildonan
Stayed at tystie Cottage for our family holiday, there was Four adults, two children, and our dog Ollie. The cottage was perfect for us, spacious, modern and clean with a great view and position. Skye is a great place for walking with the best views you can imagine. Loved our holiday there.
Lovely cosy place to stay! Great to have a log fire. Very nice welcoming touches of wine and biscuits. Would recommend!
Very clean and well equipped, lovely views. The location is great - a good base for exploring Skye. Comfortable beds, kitchen has all we needed. We were left bread, milk, butter and teabags which was a really nice touch.
The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The towels and linen not to mention general basics were prepared and ready for our arrival. The location, although offering a degree of privacy, was close to many restaurants etc and there would be absolutely no hesitation in booking Creag Bheag again should the opportunity arise in the future. In fact I would go as far as to say that if in the area, this would be our first choice and we would urge anyone planning a visit to the Portree area to really consider a stay here. I cannot speak highly enough of the service provided by the frien...more
We had a lovely stay there, the surrounding nature is just beautiful and the cottage provides everything you need.
Absolutely loved our stay. Extended it because it so suited us. Two single beds upstairs which we easily pushed together. Wife loves to stargaze so put her under skylight. She saw 2 falling stars in 15 minutes. Best part was I could sleep while she watched. Spent a total of 5 nights here. Would definitely go back. Stein pub is amazing and just down the road.
The apartment is very well maintained with all the necessary equipments to make the stay even more comfortable.
The bed sheets were not changed and there were hairs on the bed sheets. We asked to the sheets to be changed and after a week later We received an invoice asking to pay for the bed sheets to be paid. Be aware for extra charge and the sheets are not changed.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful spot: very quiet (except for the wind, which you expect on Skye). Downstairs there is a dining room with sofa and living room with TV, both with stoves which make it very cosy once they are going and which we needed as it was freezing outside. Our first evening was abit cold as no fuel supplied to do even 1 fire, which was a shame and different to other places we have visited, which expect you to get your own ongoing fuel, but usually leave a fire laid/ enough for first night. Both rooms have lovely views out to the valley and sea beyond. We needed the stoves as s...more
The property is very charming and in a great spot in skye but provision of a few basic staples, such as enough wood/kindling and a few logs to make one fire on arrival, a hand towel and some soap in the bathroom, and some candles in the event of a power cut (which happened on our second day when we were left without heat, cooking facilities, hot water or light) would have been appreciated after an exhausting drive from london and glasgow. Items such as milk, teabags etc are luxury extras that have often been provided in other cottages we have stayed in and to us, not necessary, but in an area ...more
Very clean and comphortable .Well equippet comphortable beds. Wonderful view from all windows. A little isolated.
We just got back from a week away at Bridge cottage and unfortunately it was spoilt by us getting stuck in the driveway on the first day and getting towed out by a lovely neighbour ! Apparently this has happened numerous times before yet no sign anywhere to say dont park in the driveway or anything blocking you ! Its been done cheaply and the ground has literally sunk/! There is also no visitor information in the cottage and no welcome pack, a pint of milk would have been good ! The cottage itself is lovely, decorated well and done tastefully with everything you would need , with lovely views...more
It's a nice cosy cottage with everything you need. We felt really comfortable and liked the hiking suggestions and books in the bookshelf. It was very clean and everything perfect expect the little mouldy smell. Neighbours are very friendly :)
A perfect crofters cottage for a perfect location in the Isle of Skye. The cottage is surrounded by the Cuillins and Blavin with a loch at the bottom of the village. The cottage is well equipped and feels spacious yet cosy. The cottage is warm and the central heating and/or open fire are perfect for warmth and drying clothes. As the downstairs had laminate flooring it meant that we did not have to worry about muddy clothing/boots. We loved it.
A cosy cottage. Taking into account that it is pretty isolated to get there. You can sometimes hear the neighbours in the other cottage. Perfect to have a break from the "civilization" !
A nice little house at a nice place. Not the newest one, a little bit oaf moldiness around. But nothing serious. The only thing: the heater in the kitchen wasn't running, so it was pretty cold there. No reaction from Island and Highland Cottages about my complaints! That was not very nice, indeed!
Would have expected some directions how to get to the property (would not expect a "lighthouse building" in any city center!), had asked Islands and Highlands Cottages for such details, no answer received, simply disappointing. Did not have a code for the electronic keybox outside the property, nor was I aware I needed one. The property was good, service can be improved for sure.
This property does not look like the pictures on the website. It is very run down on the outside and in need of attention. The picnic bench is now round the back but there is no seat at the front. The porch on the back is very damp and all the tourist information brochures need replacing as they have stuck together with the damp. The porch is also quite dirty making us wonder what we would find inside the main door. The shed which houses the washing machine and tumble dryer was also very dirty - we would not choose to use the machines in here. The property itself was clean and well equip...more
