We were told to expect miserable weather up in Skye, but the fog and scent of sea on the air, only heightened our wonderful stay. The cottage itself formed the perfect base for all of our adventures, and was cozy for those cool nights in. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we could need, the living room had lots of cosy blankets and a luscious fire (although this was not lit given that it was June), the bed was uber cosy and the bathroom had a great bath. We brought our beagle with us, and he adored the space. With the local town just down the road, and a shop and pub within 10m...more
Very comfortable, very clean, well equipped. Convenient location. Good view. A really lovely holiday.
Ben Edra Croft is well equipped, bright and clean and really well laid out. Amazing views from all the windows- we could have gazed out for hours! Lovely to have some garden space too especially with children. We really loved our stay and will be back I'm sure.
We had a great time at the cottage. Everything you need is there. Highly recommend. Owners were lovely. We stayed 2 weeks. You will need a car to travel to see all the lovely places on Skye.
The Mill is a beautiful house with lots of character. Absolutely everything we needed was provided and we felt very much at home. The house was warm, It was very clean, there’s lots of space and the showers were great - important after a long day walking! Seamus and Maggie gave us a lovely welcome and were very kind. The location is great. It was lovely to walk down to the shore of the beautiful bay at sunset and look out for the otters and seals. It’s very close to so many beautiful places in Skye including the falls of Rha, the fairy glen, and the Quairang. It made a great base...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Strath Glebe. The property is immaculate and in a beautiful location not far from Broadford. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the open fire was a delight.
We had a most wonderful stay at Strathaird House in May this year. The house had everything we needed and was super comfortable. It was so lovely to have a basket of local produce on arrival. The location was fabulous and we spent many a happy hour in and around Elgol and the local 'hill'! Many many thanks to Adrienne and James for making this a really special stay.
This space was extremely well thought out. It has ample space for large groups and a social space separated from the bedrooms for those who want to stay up late, but not keep anyone awake. It felt like every need was considered. The kitchen is well stocked, and little touches (ie fans, blowdryers, usb outlets, high chairs, etc) really pushed this place over the top for us. It is easily one of the nicest AirBnBs we have been to, and we’d happily come back!
A fabulous and very comfortable cottage with spectacular views - one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in! Good location on Skye and it had a very homely feel.
MacKinnon chalet exceeded our expectations in terms of how well-equipped and furnished it was and also its fabulous location. We booked at the last minute so I was prepared to be underwhelmed but the opposite was true. The owner had thought of everything! The kitchen was kitted out with good quality appliances, ample cutlery and crockery, condiments and even a coffee bean grinder (for the complementary coffee beans). We appreciated having a washing machine and tumble dryer - Skye is often wet and muddy - though we had enough sunshine. Two separate toilets is handy too. And the wood-burner wa...more
Superb little cottage for 2. Really everything provided you can think off!! Will come back for sure. Skye stole our hearts!
The cottage was perfect in every way. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. The location is remote and there is a 20minute drive to the nearest shop. It is peaceful though, surrounded by spectacular scenery. There is plenty to see on Skye and lots of interesting towns and villages. We had a fabulous week and look forward to booking again in the future
The beds are really comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub which was a lovely place to relax after long walks. The TVs are easy to use to stream films. The upstairs bedrooms feel rather empty but that is the design of the house.
One of our best holiday homes in the last 20 years. Atmosphere of the cottage and its setting in the landscape is unique!
6 Herbusta is in a great location, quiet but convenient for the Trotternish Peninsula, lots of things to do in Trotternish, Portree not too far. The cottage is very clean and tidy, thanks to the caretakers who are also very helpful, should you need to contact them, it is warm and very spacious, and has good facilities. Wifi worked well. Good local shop Rankins in Uig for all things, food, milk etc.
The cottage was prefect for our needs with everything in place and a stunning scenic view of "The Cullin" from the porch area. The cottage is in the perfect location as near to Portree and also within easy distance of the Trotternish region which is a stunning area to visit for scenery, wildlife viewing, trout fishing, fantastic walks and of course "Old Man Of Storr" - loved it!
Highly recommend the Alderburn for a group / family. Perfectly located on the edge of town - a two minute walk brings you to the lovely town of Portree with its assortment of shops, cafes and restaurants. The property, with 3 double bedrooms (1 en suite), beautiful views of the bay from the lounge, large kitchen/ dining space and outdoor seating areas in the garden, was ideal for a family holiday with teenagers ( good wifi too). The property is well looked after, very clean and my bed was really comfortable. We met the owners son, Ross, while we were there and he was lovely too. He and the hou...more
A lovely house in a pretty location which the toasty Sun Room allows you to chill in and appreciate. A mud room to enter via if one is mucky is also handy, as are places to store outdoor kit. Loads of toilets/bathrooms means no queuing for facilities. The beach is a short walk down from house and is ideal for sea kayaking, SUPing, windsurfing. But Skye isn't so good for MTBing with very limited places to ride compared to other areas in Scotland. For mobile usage, note that you get zero signal with 3, but max 4G signal with Vodaphone. This was common on Skye in general. Be aware that e...more

An Caladh was a perfect cottage to see the Isle of Skye from. It was clean, spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. The area around the cottage was very quiet with lots of space between neighbouring houses. The decor is modern and bright which gave the cottage a very comfortable and happy vibe. An Caladh is located very centrally in the island which made it ideal for driving to all of the various spots we wanted to see like the Fairy Pools, Old Man of Storr and the Black Cuillins. We had a perfect stay.
The Isle of Skye - and particularly Dunvegan - is the ideal place for a family holiday. The Steading is in an amazing location with views that even surpass what is advertised online. The reception room is enormous and comfortable with woodburner, several sofas and a large coffee table filled with games and puzzles. The upstairs playroom is also a HUGE bonus. The bedrooms are all a great size and comfortable with en suites. The condition of the property was good, not great - and could easily reach great status with some simple home improvements that were overlooked. There were four miss...more
Gorgeous cottage. We could not fault a thing. The view is amazing. You can just sit and look out of the window for hours. The only improvement I could think of is a telescope for the lounge area so you can properly watch the birds! Cottage is easy to get to and a good location for visiting lots of the island. I can highly recommend.
A beautifully presented home with lovely facilities and views, and local walks. Not the house for you if you aren't a fan of single track roads, however! Very warm and cosy.
Fantastic cottage. We had 6 guys in here for a week doing some mountaineering up on the Cuillin Hills. It is a really nice place, we are repeat customers from the year previous. 1 - The shower is weak, not what you want after a day on the hill. 2 - I would like a number so that I could inform the owners that I was leaving a day early, this would doubtless help them and make me feel happier about leaving the key in the agreed place but hardly secure. That is all I can think to drip about, we will book in next year.
What an amazing property! The location, condition & comfort is outstanding! I will recommend this to everyone visiting Skye!
This was our first trip to Skye and although it rained almost continuously, was immensely enjoyable due to the high quality of the cottage and it’s furnishings. There are lots of spectacular walks and viewing points close by, in particular, Duntulm castle and the walk at Rubha Hunish.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay. The location exceeded our expectations. The views from the cottage are gorgeous and the sunsets are spectacular. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time on Skye. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a fantastic stay at Skye Garden Accommodation - lovely little cottage in a private garden. It was the perfect base to explore Skye and Portree itself - it's about a 10 min walk into town with lovely restaurants and shops, but also far enough away from the centre to be lovely and peaceful without cars and tourists passing by. The cottage had everything we needed to cater for ourselves and rest after some long days walking.
Had a fantastic time with my family. Perfect location to enjoy Isle Of Skye. Close to Staffin beach and ideally located for all view points in North Skye. Awesome views, scenery and serenity. Highly recomended.
Everything we wanted. Delightful and helpful owners, wonderful week. Everything was extremely clean and tidy Thank you.
Another fabulous week in Morven cottage. Weather mixed but it didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the island and all it has to offer. Again Morven cottage was clean, in excellent condition and well equipped with all that you need to make your stay enjoyable. Wonderful views over Loch Dunvegan and beyond and the sunsets were amazing. The cottage is our ideal location to explore Skye, and only a ten minute walk to Coral beach our favourite! We would recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday on Skye. Online booking arrangements very straight forward and staff were very efficient, courteous and...more
It is very cosy and is in a lovely quiet setting, with beautiful scenery around. Has everything you need for a few nights stay. Only thing I would say is maybe think about getting a toaster. But we did have a nice relaxing stay.
The house and its spectacular location exceeded our expectations. It was perfect in almost every way. However, we did have to go out and buy logs for the fire as the ones provided were damp and there were only enough for one small fire. There also wasn’t enough loo roll left in the house! Apart from those small issues it was perfect.
Awesome place to stay! Would return. Great location. Cosy and clean. Lots of space to enjoy with the family and beautiful views from the windows.
The cottage was fully equipped with modern appliances and everything you could ever need. The owners had thought of everything and welcomed us with a lovely care package on arrival. The location was ideal, in a quiet spot, yet easily accessible for all the main tourist sites. The view of the Cuillin from the bedroom window was a bonus! The room was spacious with plenty of storage space and a really comfortable bed. There was a good selection of dvds to choose from which was a lovely touch. As well as lots of books and maps of the local area. The owners had also printed out a full folder of ...more
We had such a great family vacation at Tarradale Cottage! It was the perfect size for our group of 5 adults and 2 children, and you can't beat the location - a 10 minute stroll to Portree for groceries, restaurants, shopping, and more. The house had everything we needed, including some kitchen staples to get us started and a wonderful welcome box of goodies. The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The views out the windows can't be beat! We already miss being there and will for sure visit again!
Lovely weekend stay at the Bothy 7, very welcoming cosy stay with Biscuits and Prosecco as a welcome on arrival. Very clean and well equipped Kitchen considering COVID restrictions. Only small niggle was that one of the sofas leg rest wasn’t working so it didn’t feel as comfortable as it could have been and an extra seat by the window would’ve been lovely to sit and watch the views over Portree. Bath was so relaxing and even the shower was luxurious, dressing gowns were also a nice touch. Would recommend a stay at the Bothy 7 to everyone looking for a special break away.
Just came home from four winds , 1 of the best we have stayed in over the years, the photos do not do it justice, stunning views from every room , will definitely book to return
While working on the island this accommodation was a very nice place as a base to relax and unwind, while enjoying the weather of Skye.
There was so much to see and experience on Skye this was enhanced by living in a traditional cottage in a wonderful location. Overall everything was made perfect with so many good memories. Highly recommended. Comfortable, 5Star good value for money. 5Star Well maintained 5Star Good location 5Star Condition 5Star
Lovely cottage in a really good location. Fabulous views from the living room which is light and airy with lovely big windows looking east. If there is a good sunrise it's fantastic. Well equipped cottage although a few more glasses and cups would probably help a larger group. A chest of drawers in the main bedroom would be more useful than the old sofa and updating the dark furniture in the second bedroom would give it a brighter feel. However, these are minor points and I'd go back to this cottage without hesitation. It's comfortable, spacious, bright, easy to reach and to access other parts...more
The cottage was ideally situated and very comfortable. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were extremely kind and generous with their starter pack. We would definitely return and despite the weather had a lovely time.
Beautiful location. Sitting room view is stunning. Very comfortable and clean and would happily return. We loved our time on Skye. Just a couple of things that need to be mentioned. We had to buy a bigger saucepan in a charity shop in Portree, which we left in the house for future guests. The three that were available were very small and inadequate to prepare a meal for three. There were also only 2 dessert spoons. We have to mention the Wi-Fi. There simply isn’t any. Sharing next doors just doesn’t work and we felt standing outside their house was too intrusive. The instructions fo...more
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was very clean. A perfect size although these was only two of us. It was so quiet-a short distance up a minor road but still central for getting out and about. And close to Portree where there is a great Co-op for shopping. Plenty space to park your car. The kitchen is very well equipped with nice plates/cups etc. Great dish washer and washing machine. Living room has a lovely view and nice comfy seats and settee. Would recommend The Galley for fish and chips on the road up to Uig. If you want take away though you need to pre order! We would ...more
The cottage was warm, clean and comfortable. It is in a good location for exploring the Isle of Skye.
Our week in the “wee yellow house” was the highlight of our tour of the highlands. Good location, easy to walk into Portree for restaurants, boat trips, etc, or to drive elsewhere, especially the nearby Trotternish Peninsula which is awesome! Warm welcome from our helpful host, friendly without being intrusive. Careful instructions in place about how everything worked. The house was warm and cosy inside with excellent power showers, and the garden equipped to sit outside on the sunny days, all we needed to relax!
Nice, cozy little cottage. Beautiful view on the Staffing Bay and overlooking distant Quiraing. The cottage itself is spacious enough, warm, cozy and welcoming, providing perfect out-base for exploration of the Skye. Bedrooms are decent size, with comfortable beds and sufficient storage space. Bathroom clean and well equipped, the shower temperamental at times. The kitchen sufficiently well equipped, could use a bit more storage space but nothing major. Overall - very pleased with the stay
For a 4 bedroom cottage in August this was really good value for money. It looked attractive, clean and spacious in the photos and the reality didn't disappoint. It was a spacious, pleasant house, with everything that an extended family of 8 needed. It had amazing views from almost every room! Though comfy and tidy I would not describe it as especially luxurious, but if you want that you probably have to expect to pay a lot more. It was comfortable, clean and functional, it had everything we needed, and we were very happy there with no problems at all. If you are looking for something really m...more
We did not expect this. A spacious house with great views! We even saw otter and seals from the living room. Great place to stay!
We have just got back from our stay on Skye and the accommodation was perfect. The views from the kitchen were amazing looking over the sea, every evening we had a short walk down to the beach to watch the sunsets. The first thing I noticed when entering the cottage was how immaculately clean it was. We had such a comfortable stay and both our kids slept so well with the comfy beds and black out blinds. When contacting the company running the cottage they replied immediately any time of the day with great customer service. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the only problem we had was that ...more
Loved our stay here. It’s in a lovely condition, well equipped and comfortable. Beds are comfy too. Plus there’s lots of space. Views are fabulous. The owner was quick to respond to our questions about the hot water and central heating. Just wish we could have stayed longer and hope to stay again in the future.
Excellent location and service. A great base for Isle of Skye adventures. Would recommend to friends and family.
Glenview is the perfect base for exploring Skye. It's just over the hill (the more scenic route to arrive at the Quirang, when I say over the hill - this is a drive, not a walk) from the Quirang, not much further from the Old Man of Storr and the Fairy Glen is a stones throw away. All the amenities of Portree are just 20 minutes away by car and it's easy to get to Western Skye too. The Cuillins and the Sleat are further, but it's a scenic drive to get there. Uig is the ferry port for getting to the Outer Hebrides if you want to add that into your trip. The cottage is up on the hill behind t...more
A long-awaited extended family Hebridean odyssey ended in Skye in the area of my ancestors. The property was much as expected from the description - always a good thing. It was comfortable and roomier than we expected for eight of us. The only downside was that there was only one proper shower. The bathroom had a hand-held shower but this was impossible to use standing up, because of the sloping roof above and the oldies feared not getting out of the bath if they sat down. It would have been fine for younger children or the more supple. If some way could be found to create another proper ...more
Perfect location in Plockton. Cottage was comfortable and well equipped and close to village amenities.
We can fully recommend the cottage and would stay there again. A great location - close to Portree but quiet - great for exploring Skye.
Brilliant location amazing view across Staffin bay. Internet connection was non existent however services gave me a mini pod which gave some connection
The flat is a well proportioned self-catering option for travellers to Skye. The assigned parking was very much an asset for the property given the lack of parking in Portree in general. The kitchen is decently equipped for making basic meals like breakfast/fry up, and for heating up ready meals from the local coop. Not sure whether it's a Covid restriction or not, but the staples for the kitchen were not present (i.e. no tin foil, no salt, pepper, oil, etc.) The main problem we had was with the hot water. There were two days with cold showers, and when the hot water was on, it was dangerously...more
uitstekend. prima locatie loop afstand van Portree mooi vertrek punt voor te maken trips als je echt lekker willt eten ROYAL HOTEL we hebben alles geprobeerd, dit steekt met kop en schouders boven uit.
Loved our stay at this lovely cottage. Lindsay , the owner, couldn't have been more accommodating. QWe will be back.
We found this cottage had everything you need and is in a good location with excellent cafes and restaurants nearby. It is quite small but adequate and the furnishings are quite basic but very comfortable. Considering how busy accommodation is on Skye this was an excellent choice and we would certainly use it again.
Our stay at the Loch Mealt View was just amazing. The location was simply amazing. It was so serene and calm. The morning view from the cottage is something to behold. The cottage was spotless and the comfort level was unparalleled. Loved the beds as they were so comfy. As far as the cottage owners are concerned, I have to give them a special mention here as they have been amazing hosts. We reported a couple of minor issues one with a WiFi, a duvet cover that had a rip and a broken plate - the agents who look after the property reported it to the cottage owner and within an hour I got an email...more
The property is in need of some all round care and maintenance, it is damp and open to pest ingress. Access is difficult for those with any degree of mobility problems. For only a 3 night stay the price was high end. The bed was warm and comfortable.
Lovely house with plenty of space and adequate facilities for six. Great panoramic view of the sea and accross to the outer hebrides, we were visited by roe deer, short earled owl (in the tidy garden), red fox accross the moorland and the closest I've ever seen the pair of resident golden eagles that flew over and around the house five days out of the seven that we were there, one even landing only 45 yards away breifly before taking off again. When you see them up close there's no way you can mistake them for the "tourist eagle" buzzards! Also a pair of the white tailed sea eagles glided o...more
Beautiful, cosy house and fabulous location. Great for quiet and peaceful getaways. Definitely returning!
Lovely view. There’s a walk starting near the cottage. Comfortable beds but very unconfortable armchairs and couch. Well-equipped kitchen, A nice play to stay and make trips and go for a walk.
I have stayed many times at the Stationmaster's House but this is the first privately. Good accommodation and location.
A cosy comfortable cottage with excellent views. We have stayed there many times and ended staying there. The upgrade in the heating system has completed the comfort this year. The cottage is in an ideal situation, and is at the centre of northern Skye where all the places of interest are within easy reach. Great walking area.
Quiet cottage in a central position to explore the island. Only down side was that there was no WIFI and it wasn't rectified in the two weeks we were there.
This cottage was one of the highlights of our tour around the west coast of Scotland. The location was idyllic with a view of the sea and Ben Tianavaig. The accommodation was basic but comfortable and warm. We are planning to return and would highly recommend
Despite the unseasonal weather, the cottage was warm and comfortable. It is well-equipped and has a great view (when the clouds lift ;-) ). The owner was very responsive when there was a problem with one of the taps. The drive is steep and rough, and a bit tricky to negotiate with a small car. Torrin is very good for access to the Bla Bheinn group and the Red Cuillin hills, and for the Elgol peninsula.
So awful, where do we start! The cottage STANK when we arrived. Bad cooking smells and a strong smelly dog odour. No fresh air had been in here for a while. Inside kitchen cupboards all very fusty. There is a serious damp problem in the building with significant damp patches & staining in living room and some in the main bedroom. Curtain poles come out of the wall if you try and open the windows. Worst of all, the bed was dirty, smelling of greasy hair and un-fresh linen. This meant - as we arrived at 8pm - we had to wash and dry the bed linen before we could sleep in it. NOT a great start to ...more
We had a lovely stay in the traditional cottage . It was a little tired but position and value for money was excellent.
A traditional cottage with lovely views to the Outer Hebrides in a very peaceful location. Other cottages are dotted around but it is not a village. Make sure you bring all the food etc you need as there is no shop within walking distance. It is very quiet and we hardly saw anyone. The 2 bedrooms are large, bright and have wonderful views: bedrooms are comfortable with plenty storage space. There is a king size bed in one room; the other room has a double bed and also a single bed. Good for a family. One bathroom which was very clean. Kitchen and living / dining area area is one open pla...more
