The house is lovely and in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay. It was cosy and well equipped.
We had such a wonderful time. The property is amazing, brilliantly equipped with high spec appliances and everything you could possibly need. We stayed for 7 nights and it was the perfect home from home.
Very comfortable, very clean, well equipped. Convenient location. Good view. A really lovely holiday.
Ben Edra Croft is well equipped, bright and clean and really well laid out. Amazing views from all the windows- we could have gazed out for hours! Lovely to have some garden space too especially with children. We really loved our stay and will be back I'm sure.
We had a great time at the cottage. Everything you need is there. Highly recommend. Owners were lovely. We stayed 2 weeks. You will need a car to travel to see all the lovely places on Skye.
The Mill is a beautiful house with lots of character. Absolutely everything we needed was provided and we felt very much at home. The house was warm, It was very clean, there’s lots of space and the showers were great - important after a long day walking! Seamus and Maggie gave us a lovely welcome and were very kind. The location is great. It was lovely to walk down to the shore of the beautiful bay at sunset and look out for the otters and seals. It’s very close to so many beautiful places in Skye including the falls of Rha, the fairy glen, and the Quairang. It made a great base...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Strath Glebe. The property is immaculate and in a beautiful location not far from Broadford. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the open fire was a delight.
We had a most wonderful stay at Strathaird House in May this year. The house had everything we needed and was super comfortable. It was so lovely to have a basket of local produce on arrival. The location was fabulous and we spent many a happy hour in and around Elgol and the local 'hill'! Many many thanks to Adrienne and James for making this a really special stay.
This space was extremely well thought out. It has ample space for large groups and a social space separated from the bedrooms for those who want to stay up late, but not keep anyone awake. It felt like every need was considered. The kitchen is well stocked, and little touches (ie fans, blowdryers, usb outlets, high chairs, etc) really pushed this place over the top for us. It is easily one of the nicest AirBnBs we have been to, and we’d happily come back!
This is our second holiday at this cottage. We were on holiday last year. The cottage is lovely, area quiet and tranquil. Everything you need is in the cottage and more. We would highly recommend a stay here. The views are stunning. Very clean and comfortable.
MacKinnon chalet exceeded our expectations in terms of how well-equipped and furnished it was and also its fabulous location. We booked at the last minute so I was prepared to be underwhelmed but the opposite was true. The owner had thought of everything! The kitchen was kitted out with good quality appliances, ample cutlery and crockery, condiments and even a coffee bean grinder (for the complementary coffee beans). We appreciated having a washing machine and tumble dryer - Skye is often wet and muddy - though we had enough sunshine. Two separate toilets is handy too. And the wood-burner wa...more
Beautiful and modern cottage in a breathtaking landscape. We enjoyed every day also the raining days.
I am biased. I have stayed at Shepherd's Cottage 7 times now, mainly in July although I have also stayed in December. My last stay was in July '22. The cottage is comfortable with a modern kitchen. It has a nice wood burner in the sitting room. The main attraction is the location. It is fairly secluded. The sheep farmer goes by now and again. Apart from that, it is quiet and isolated, but not far from the busy areas of Carbost and Glen Brittle. Great view of the loch. The residents of Eynort, if you see them, are very friendly. I just love the place.
The holiday home has everything you need to get completely offline in the north of Skye. There’s even wildlife just outside your doorstep. The cottage is provided with all the supplies you need to make a meal and the wood to heat up the stove was provided as well. We met the owner, very nice guy!
6 Herbusta is in a great location, quiet but convenient for the Trotternish Peninsula, lots of things to do in Trotternish, Portree not too far. The cottage is very clean and tidy, thanks to the caretakers who are also very helpful, should you need to contact them, it is warm and very spacious, and has good facilities. Wifi worked well. Good local shop Rankins in Uig for all things, food, milk etc.
The cottage was prefect for our needs with everything in place and a stunning scenic view of "The Cullin" from the porch area. The cottage is in the perfect location as near to Portree and also within easy distance of the Trotternish region which is a stunning area to visit for scenery, wildlife viewing, trout fishing, fantastic walks and of course "Old Man Of Storr" - loved it!
Highly recommend the Alderburn for a group / family. Perfectly located on the edge of town - a two minute walk brings you to the lovely town of Portree with its assortment of shops, cafes and restaurants. The property, with 3 double bedrooms (1 en suite), beautiful views of the bay from the lounge, large kitchen/ dining space and outdoor seating areas in the garden, was ideal for a family holiday with teenagers ( good wifi too). The property is well looked after, very clean and my bed was really comfortable. We met the owners son, Ross, while we were there and he was lovely too. He and the hou...more
We had a very relaxing time in Skye. The accommodation was perfect for our needs and the owner had thought of everything we could possibly need. The sun room was a great place to look out at the views and kitchen was very well equipped.
Lovely again ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
An Caladh was a perfect cottage to see the Isle of Skye from. It was clean, spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. The area around the cottage was very quiet with lots of space between neighbouring houses. The decor is modern and bright which gave the cottage a very comfortable and happy vibe. An Caladh is located very centrally in the island which made it ideal for driving to all of the various spots we wanted to see like the Fairy Pools, Old Man of Storr and the Black Cuillins. We had a perfect stay.
The Isle of Skye - and particularly Dunvegan - is the ideal place for a family holiday. The Steading is in an amazing location with views that even surpass what is advertised online. The reception room is enormous and comfortable with woodburner, several sofas and a large coffee table filled with games and puzzles. The upstairs playroom is also a HUGE bonus. The bedrooms are all a great size and comfortable with en suites. The condition of the property was good, not great - and could easily reach great status with some simple home improvements that were overlooked. There were four miss...more
Our family of 10 - 6 adults and 4 children- had a fun week at One Mill Lands. Comfortable camp beds were provided for 2 pre-teens and set up in the spacious loft while everyone else had private rooms with ensuite showers and toilets and one with main floor walk out. The kids loved the hot tub and the board games. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped - although the fridge is showing wear and tear and more tea towels are needed. The stove top worked great once we googled how to work it. Its manual, in French only, was beyond our limited comprehension. Heated floors on the main level kept u...more
The property is very spacious, well designed and well equipped. We had a wonderful stay and could not take our eyes of breathtaking and ever changing scenery through the huge windows
A beautifully presented home with lovely facilities and views, and local walks. Not the house for you if you aren't a fan of single track roads, however! Very warm and cosy.
Fantastic cottage. We had 6 guys in here for a week doing some mountaineering up on the Cuillin Hills. It is a really nice place, we are repeat customers from the year previous. 1 - The shower is weak, not what you want after a day on the hill. 2 - I would like a number so that I could inform the owners that I was leaving a day early, this would doubtless help them and make me feel happier about leaving the key in the agreed place but hardly secure. That is all I can think to drip about, we will book in next year.
What an amazing property! The location, condition & comfort is outstanding! I will recommend this to everyone visiting Skye!
This was our first trip to Skye and although it rained almost continuously, was immensely enjoyable due to the high quality of the cottage and it’s furnishings. There are lots of spectacular walks and viewing points close by, in particular, Duntulm castle and the walk at Rubha Hunish.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay. The location exceeded our expectations. The views from the cottage are gorgeous and the sunsets are spectacular. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time on Skye. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a fantastic stay at Skye Garden Accommodation - lovely little cottage in a private garden. It was the perfect base to explore Skye and Portree itself - it's about a 10 min walk into town with lovely restaurants and shops, but also far enough away from the centre to be lovely and peaceful without cars and tourists passing by. The cottage had everything we needed to cater for ourselves and rest after some long days walking.
My wife and I loved our week at the Kilmartin Cottage, even if it was maybe a little big for just the 2 of us. We loved the location and comfort/cleanliness.
Everything we wanted. Delightful and helpful owners, wonderful week. Everything was extremely clean and tidy Thank you.
We had an unforgettable time at Kinloch Follart! The house is wonderful, very comfortable and very well equipped, it is the ideal location for a relaxing holiday. I would suggest Kinloch Follart to everybody
It is very cosy and is in a lovely quiet setting, with beautiful scenery around. Has everything you need for a few nights stay. Only thing I would say is maybe think about getting a toaster. But we did have a nice relaxing stay.
Claire & Neil delightful hosts, location ideal, numerous village shops + large Portree COOP all easily accessible therefore spent more time being a Skye tourist, cottage is fabulous open plan downstairs with spacious kitchen, on suite bedroom with view of Black Cullins, would go again at the drop of a hat
Everything was nice. Easy communication. Great view. Everything needed in the house. Thank you!!!!!!
Awesome place to stay! Would return. Great location. Cosy and clean. Lots of space to enjoy with the family and beautiful views from the windows.
There's is much about Tidal Cottage to like. The location is very nice and the owners are very friendly and helpul. However, for us it was lacking a bit in comfort. The bed was too small for us and the dining table and chairs are small and basic. The bathroom on the other hand is excellent. The kitchen is sparsely equipped although all appliances are there. WIFI is available but not very fast.
Lovely weekend stay at the Bothy 7, very welcoming cosy stay with Biscuits and Prosecco as a welcome on arrival. Very clean and well equipped Kitchen considering COVID restrictions. Only small niggle was that one of the sofas leg rest wasn’t working so it didn’t feel as comfortable as it could have been and an extra seat by the window would’ve been lovely to sit and watch the views over Portree. Bath was so relaxing and even the shower was luxurious, dressing gowns were also a nice touch. Would recommend a stay at the Bothy 7 to everyone looking for a special break away.
This was our second stay, for two weeks in July, and we had fabulous weather, enjoying the view from every room. The garden is fully enclosed for our dog and the location although not completely remote, is perfect and the Sleat area doesn't seem too cut off from local amenities with Broadford just a 20 minute drive away. There are so many walks within close proximity, we repeated walks we had done on our last visit and found new ones too. We enjoyed a drive over to Portree and Dunvegan which are two of our favourite places. This remains one of our favourite properties that we have stayed...more
While working on the island this accommodation was a very nice place as a base to relax and unwind, while enjoying the weather of Skye.
There was so much to see and experience on Skye this was enhanced by living in a traditional cottage in a wonderful location. Overall everything was made perfect with so many good memories. Highly recommended. Comfortable, 5Star good value for money. 5Star Well maintained 5Star Good location 5Star Condition 5Star
Lovely cottage in a really good location. Fabulous views from the living room which is light and airy with lovely big windows looking east. If there is a good sunrise it's fantastic. Well equipped cottage although a few more glasses and cups would probably help a larger group. A chest of drawers in the main bedroom would be more useful than the old sofa and updating the dark furniture in the second bedroom would give it a brighter feel. However, these are minor points and I'd go back to this cottage without hesitation. It's comfortable, spacious, bright, easy to reach and to access other parts...more
The cottage was ideally situated and very comfortable. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were extremely kind and generous with their starter pack. We would definitely return and despite the weather had a lovely time.
Had a fab time and traditional Scottish weather in a lovely peaceful location. Cottage was lovely and had everything we needed.
Beautiful location. Sitting room view is stunning. Very comfortable and clean and would happily return. We loved our time on Skye. Just a couple of things that need to be mentioned. We had to buy a bigger saucepan in a charity shop in Portree, which we left in the house for future guests. The three that were available were very small and inadequate to prepare a meal for three. There were also only 2 dessert spoons. We have to mention the Wi-Fi. There simply isn’t any. Sharing next doors just doesn’t work and we felt standing outside their house was too intrusive. The instructions fo...more
We enjoyed our stay at Morven a lot. The location is fantastic. After one day we did not miss the Internet connection at all (be aware the mobile internet is rather slow and sketchy esp. when the weather is bad). The kitchen is great as is the wood firing oven. We enjoyed the extensive library with many guide books and spying on our only neighbors in sight, which were sheep, rabbits, gulls, eagles and dolphins. The IH Cottage staff was very helpful.
The cottage was ideally located for visiting all of Skye and was also reasonably priced compared to other options we looked at. My fiance and I stayed with our 4 year old daughter and our dog and the cottage was a good size for us with all the amenities we required, including enclosed areas at the front and back for the dog to roam about safely. Having milk, bread, butter, eggs, jam, tea and coffee provided on arrival was a nice touch too. Previous reviews had mentioned there was no wifi in the property so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and discovered that there was actuall...more
Our week in the “wee yellow house” was the highlight of our tour of the highlands. Good location, easy to walk into Portree for restaurants, boat trips, etc, or to drive elsewhere, especially the nearby Trotternish Peninsula which is awesome! Warm welcome from our helpful host, friendly without being intrusive. Careful instructions in place about how everything worked. The house was warm and cosy inside with excellent power showers, and the garden equipped to sit outside on the sunny days, all we needed to relax!
A beautiful home in the most glorious setting. Owner was the absolute BEST in helping me with one issue I had (my fault). Beautiful lawn and gardens. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing!! A total joy, it was a memorable four generation of women trip of a lifetime.
Clean and modern accommodation in a peaceful location with stunning views visible in all directions.
For a 4 bedroom cottage in August this was really good value for money. It looked attractive, clean and spacious in the photos and the reality didn't disappoint. It was a spacious, pleasant house, with everything that an extended family of 8 needed. It had amazing views from almost every room! Though comfy and tidy I would not describe it as especially luxurious, but if you want that you probably have to expect to pay a lot more. It was comfortable, clean and functional, it had everything we needed, and we were very happy there with no problems at all. If you are looking for something really m...more
It is a very beautiful Place and we loved to sit in the Winter garden and Watch the sun or the moving clouds.
We found the house was ideal for our family group, deceptively large, roomy and comfortable, and very fully equipped. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location, on the seafront, away from the main road but still close to the village. The shorefront garden was lovely for sitting out and watching the world go by, we hope to be able to stay again next year!
This cottage was one of the best I had stayed it. It was advertised as sleeping six but with an extra room downstairs could easily accommodate more. There was plenty of crockery and cooking equipment and generally everything we needed. The location was also extremely convenient for visiting all of Skye.
A great base to explore Skye. Excellent location - just a couple of minutes from main square in Portree. Private parking and a childrens park next to property also. The house is well presented - very clean with towels and linen provided. Much bigger than it appears in pictures with a kitchen, dining room and living room. Both bedrooms were comfortable with lots of storage. Kitchen had everything you would need and milk and shortbread were a lovely touch. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a dishwasher. Both bathrooms were a good size and it looked like new showers a...more
Glenview is the perfect base for exploring Skye. It's just over the hill (the more scenic route to arrive at the Quirang, when I say over the hill - this is a drive, not a walk) from the Quirang, not much further from the Old Man of Storr and the Fairy Glen is a stones throw away. All the amenities of Portree are just 20 minutes away by car and it's easy to get to Western Skye too. The Cuillins and the Sleat are further, but it's a scenic drive to get there. Uig is the ferry port for getting to the Outer Hebrides if you want to add that into your trip. The cottage is up on the hill behind t...more
A long-awaited extended family Hebridean odyssey ended in Skye in the area of my ancestors. The property was much as expected from the description - always a good thing. It was comfortable and roomier than we expected for eight of us. The only downside was that there was only one proper shower. The bathroom had a hand-held shower but this was impossible to use standing up, because of the sloping roof above and the oldies feared not getting out of the bath if they sat down. It would have been fine for younger children or the more supple. If some way could be found to create another proper ...more
The flat is a well proportioned self-catering option for travellers to Skye. The assigned parking was very much an asset for the property given the lack of parking in Portree in general. The kitchen is decently equipped for making basic meals like breakfast/fry up, and for heating up ready meals from the local coop. Not sure whether it's a Covid restriction or not, but the staples for the kitchen were not present (i.e. no tin foil, no salt, pepper, oil, etc.) The main problem we had was with the hot water. There were two days with cold showers, and when the hot water was on, it was dangerously...more
uitstekend. prima locatie loop afstand van Portree mooi vertrek punt voor te maken trips als je echt lekker willt eten ROYAL HOTEL we hebben alles geprobeerd, dit steekt met kop en schouders boven uit.
Evans house is a nice little place, with a brilliant view and good location if you want to explore the north parts of Skye. It has everything you need and the comfort is ok.
Seamstress Cottage was in a lovely location, spotless- thanks to Linda the housekeeper-and had everything we needed during our stay.Very comfortable. Located a few minutes drive from Broadford where there was a supermarket, garage and interesting shops and nice places to eat.Would definitely stay there again.
We had a nice stay at this little fairytale cottage. Everything was to our expectation. We loved the chickens.
Our stay at the Loch Mealt View was just amazing. The location was simply amazing. It was so serene and calm. The morning view from the cottage is something to behold. The cottage was spotless and the comfort level was unparalleled. Loved the beds as they were so comfy. As far as the cottage owners are concerned, I have to give them a special mention here as they have been amazing hosts. We reported a couple of minor issues one with a WiFi, a duvet cover that had a rip and a broken plate - the agents who look after the property reported it to the cottage owner and within an hour I got an email...more
We had a lovely week staying in the cottage. It had everything we needed, including a very useful dryer for when the weather was a bit damp! The enclosed garden was excellent for our energetic dog, with a wonderful view across the water to the next peninsula. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The location might be a little remote for some people, but we really appreciated the peace and quiet, when the rest of the island was busy with summer visitors. There are good walks from the door, and excellent tea and cake at the Yurt Cafe just down the road. The owner ca...more
We really enjoyed our stay in Bridge cottage. We had everything that we needed and the cottage was very clean. Great location for trips and lovely view.
The property is in need of some all round care and maintenance, it is damp and open to pest ingress. Access is difficult for those with any degree of mobility problems. For only a 3 night stay the price was high end. The bed was warm and comfortable.
Beautiful, cosy house and fabulous location. Great for quiet and peaceful getaways. Definitely returning!
Great cottage, almost like being in someone’s home as it has lots of interesting trinkets in and local art work. Great location with access to a lot of touristy spots and shops not too far away. Very warm and homely. Had the fire on almost every night which was welcoming after a day out. In a quiet village at the end of a dead end so very peaceful and on a clear day the sunset is beautiful. Only small gripe was that it could have been cleaner, the doors and surfaces had sticky residue and where people had previously opened doors it was a bit grimy, but could be cleaned with a scrub so a good ...more
I have stayed many times at the Stationmaster's House but this is the first privately. Good accommodation and location.
Quiet cottage in a central position to explore the island. Only down side was that there was no WIFI and it wasn't rectified in the two weeks we were there.
Great location in small community with beach yet only around 2 miles from main road to Portree / Broadford making it a great base to travel round the island. Truly authentic stone crofters cottage. Plenty of room for 2, all expected amenities provided. Continuous rain meant that it was hard to dry clothes and boots sufficiently. Generally well maintained but sink basin was loose and the ceiling spot lights needed bulbs changing (reported to the office in Portree). Overall excellent value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed returning after our adventures to this haven.
A well equipped, individually furnished cottage with very beautiful views to the astonishing mountains of the Isle of Skye, especially from the bay window and the kitchen window. You can just sit there and watch the clouds wandering ... It's a little bit far to get to most of the other attractions of the isle, but you can start nice walks directly from the cottage. Even a nice sandy beach is to reach by foot (ca. 25 minutes).
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved enclosed garden with such lovely views. Great for seeing Skye and Raasay.
We had a lovely stay in the traditional cottage . It was a little tired but position and value for money was excellent.
A traditional cottage with lovely views to the Outer Hebrides in a very peaceful location. Other cottages are dotted around but it is not a village. Make sure you bring all the food etc you need as there is no shop within walking distance. It is very quiet and we hardly saw anyone. The 2 bedrooms are large, bright and have wonderful views: bedrooms are comfortable with plenty storage space. There is a king size bed in one room; the other room has a double bed and also a single bed. Good for a family. One bathroom which was very clean. Kitchen and living / dining area area is one open pla...more
