3 Carbost is a lovely, spacious holiday cottage in Skeabost on the Isle of Skye.

Great location, comfortable accommodation, a few small changes could make a big difference...

The location is great - 10 minutes into Portree and very much at the centre of gravity of the places one would like to visit on Skye (except the far south). Accommodation is comfortable if not luxurious; feels spacious, light and well insulated; kitchen sufficiently equipped for self-catering. A number of small changes could have improved the experience: there is very little storage, especially hanging space; no soap, washing-up liquid, sugar, salt, butter, milk, cooking oil, except random items left by previous guests (which may also apply to the small quantity of detergent for dishwasher and washing machine we found); the bath towels were comically minuscule; there was one, very slim, pillow each; the shower in the upstairs bathroom didn't work (plumber looked at it when coming for something else, but it's obviously been a problem for some time and he couldn't fix it - not a problem once he had found a washer to create a seal for the bath plug, and the shower wouldn't have been easy to use in the space anyway); the plumbing 'something else' (a drainage leak onto the rear decking) had made it lethally slippery, and the day after the plumber had fixed that leak the kitchen sink blocked, and he had to come back. (I grew up on a farm, but some visitors might feel discomfited by the herd of cattle, including steers, heifers, suckling calves and a really magnificent Ayrshire bull, in the field surrounding the house and separated at touching distance from the forecourt by nothing but a single strand of electrified cord.)

Goede locatie, centraal gelegen om veel uitstappen te doen.
Veel ruimte. Alles wat je nodig hebt op vakantie.
Enig minpuntje: geen kasten om kledij te hangen op de slaapkamers.

The property was in an excellent location to see all of the attractions. Beautiful and clean property. All amenities were catered for. Would happily stay on the Isle of Skye again and would definitely choose this property to stay in.

My wife and I recently stayed at 3 Carabost during our time in Skye. It is perfectly located in the countryside of Skeabost surrounded by very quiet Neigbors and sheep. The house itself is very well maintained with comfortable beds, an updated kitchen, and laundry. The house is also perfectly located just a 10 minute drive to downtown Portree and right down the road from Dunvegan . It was easy to travel all over Skye to visit the incredible sights like Storr, Quiraing, Neist Point, Talisker Distillery all within a 40 minute drive or less. Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Skye.

My only feedback for the owners would be to update the instructions on how to arrive as they were not entirely clear, or add a mail post with the number 3 to more easily identify. Also would be great to have 1 or 2 umbrellas for guests upon arrival for those rainy days.
