Bay View Bungalow overlooks Uig Bay. It has an open lounge / dining room making the most of the vista's, a kitchen with an additional dining area, three double bedrooms (one with an ensuite), and a family bathroom.

Absolutely quiet location, nicely furnished, basic equipment (coffee, tea, dishwasher tabs, etc.) available, unfortunately there was no firewood on arrival. The entrance area and the adjoining bedroom smelled moldy, so we did not use this bedroom. De facto it was a house with only 2 bedrooms. There was dog poo in the garden and the sofa and one armchair were quite stained. But super comfortable mattresses, enough towels and very clean. The en-suite bathroom smelled extremely of drainage, so we avoided even opening the door there and confined ourselves to the larger bathroom. If you are traveling with several people this could be problematic.

We’re sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We do want to clarify a couple of points for future guests—Bay View Bungalow is a rural property surrounded by farmland, and while we don’t allow pets, the occasional visiting farm dog is part of the charm of the area. We do our best to ensure the garden is checked before each stay, but in a countryside setting, nature sometimes has its own plans! Regarding the firewood, we don’t advertise it as a provided amenity, but we’re always happy to recommend where to purchase some locally. As for the en-suite bathroom, we’ve since inspected it and found no lingering drainage smell, but we’ll continue to monitor it to ensure the best experience for our guests. We loved our stay here! It was clean, well-located, had a beautiful view, and professionally run. Everything was clear, easy to manage, and very comfortable. Would certainly recommend it as a good option to anyone looking for a place to stay on Skye!

Five of us stayed in the Bayview Bungalow for 7 nights. It is an exceptionally beautiful holiday home. The large windows and the view over the bay were unique. The house was extremely clean and the kitchen had everything you can wish! Especially the extra entrance room (with extra sink and laundrymaschine) was extremely practical for us as hikers.
The service was also very good. There was a small welcome gift on the table on arrival. We needed an extra duvet, which was brought to us within a few hours, despite a 30-minute journey.
The double beds are rather narrow. This was not a problem for us. For very tall and rather sturdy people it could be a bit cramped.
We would come again at any time.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay at Bay View Bungalow! The bungalow was just as pictured on the website. We found the home clean and everything in perfect working order. The decor is fresh and modern, and the floorplan is spacious and comfortable. The view is outstanding! We enjoyed watching the ferry come and go. The kitchen is well-equipped and we found everything we needed for several meals at Rankins supermarket only a few minutes away. We think Uig is a great location for exploring both peninsulas. Overall, we could not imagine a more perfect stay and we cannot wait to return!

We arrived and noted they where doing work on the small harbour, quite loud bangs . We had to clean the fridge freezer .
Linen was good beds very comfortable, in all we there was a few issues, hopefully they will address these .we were compensated which we thank them for .

We choose this property based on the pictures as it looked like somewhere comfortable we could rest, read and draw for the week.
It was marvellously quiet which is exactly what we were hoping for.
A beautiful property nestled on the top of the hill by Uig village.
Very spacious, comfortable and cosy bungalow - we could not have asked for more - I wish we could have stayed longer.
Uig really surprised us with beautiful walks near by and we hardly had to use the car. As a bonus it is also 10 minutes walk from a fantastic local brewery.

First of all, excellent service from Islands and Highlands Cottages in unusual and very difficult circumstances. We had to change date of visit, and then our chosen venue a couple of Times. IHC were very helpful with this, so many thanks to them.

Bay View is very well presented, with a great view out over Uig harbour and bay, and on a quiet single track road a few minutes out of Uig. The bungalow has been modernised to a high standard, and in particular the split level lounge/dining room was a lovely place to spend time when not out on the hills. Very tastefully furnished throughout, and well equipped for self-catering. (But kitchen could do with a colander....minor point!!)

Uig is not especially central, but Portree is only about 20 minutes away, and most places on the island can be reached within the hour. Elgol, for the unmissable Misty Isles boat trip to Loch Coruisk, is about an hour and a half away, less if the traffic is light.

We would definitely recommend Bay View, and Islands and Highlands Cottages.

We stayed for week arrived v late in the cold and rain to a warm welcoming house.

We enjoyed staying in this well-appointed and presented bungalow and the views were lovely and restful and we would return. Improvements would include better access for parking, better pans and crockery and drawers in main bedroom.

Perfect location for exploring Skye and access to the supermarket in Portree. Wonderful views from the property, which is tastefully decorated and has various handy maps of Skye to plan hikes and days out.
My only complaints would be that you’re reliant on the standards of the previous guests for clean crockery on arrival because there is no dishwasher and that I had to buy a cheese grater to use during my stay, which I did take home.

Bay View is a fantastic cottage in a wonderful location ideal for exploring Skye and was a great property for our family. It was clean and well equipped with lots of information about the island (walking books etc).

Communication with Island & Highland Cottage’s was excellent throughout and I would recommend the property and this company for anyone wanting to rent a cottage.
