Set in the peaceful community of Luib, on the banks of a wooded stream, Bridge Cottage is a cosy renovated holiday home. There are excellent walking opportunities from the doorstep! Bridge Cottage includes a modern open plan kitchen / dining area, a cosy lounge with log burner and a slate tiles bathroom. The open staircase leads to a double and a twin bedroom. Outside there is a seating area for you to relax and enjoy the quiet river bank location.

We had an excellent week and saw most of the Island. There was a small problem with a tap and the television, and I contacted the property manager on the Saturday night. Unfortunately he did not seem particularly interested and didn't contact Islands & Highlands cottages until the Tuesday. Once Islands & Highlands Cottages were aware, the service was excellent. If anyone has an issue, contact Islands & Highland Cottages and not the property manager!
The southern Sleat peninsular is spectacular and well worth a visit. Park at Aird and walk towards the Point of Sleat - there is a fantastic beach at Camas Daraich.
Elgol gives awesome views of the Cuillins and a boat trip to Loch Coruisk is highly recommended.
Walking the Waternish peninsula gives excellent views over the sea to the Outer Hebrides.
Plenty of places to eat and drink - all in all, a great holiday location.

Ideal base for the 4 of us exploring Skye. Quiet location with lovely views of some sheep in a field. It’s a very basic cottage which was fairly clean upon arrival but the current website photos need updated- the garden is now overgrown & there are only 3 garden chairs. Stains on some carpets & dishes needed washed prior to using. No space to dry wet jackets etc & no coat pegs. Vacuum cleaner & brush etc all kept out in the sitting room/vestibule area which was un sightly. A welcome pack would have been much appreciated upon arrival. A few simple improvements are needed to make this 5 star!

Really lovely refurbished traditional cottage in a beautiful setting. Great location, close to Broadford and other parts of the island easily accessible. Lovely track to walk on just by the cottage.
The cottage is small but has everything and all in great condition. Bed not the most comfortable but that really didn't matter since generally there's so much walking to be done on Skye you will sleep well with all the exertion. I'd definitely be happy to go back to Bridge cottage and would absolutely recommend it to others, it was great!
Very helpful instructions from the agency and lots of information about the area in the house too.

A superb cottage perfectly located for exploring all the Isle of Skye has to offer.

We had a wonderful stay at Bridge Cottage and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to stay in a very well presented; fully equipped, spotlessly clean, centrally located accommodation. Entry into the accommodation was straight forward. Islands & Highlands provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend.

Great location: nice and quiet but just off the main road, so extremely accessible. Close enough to Broadford and Portree to be useful. (For fuel, groceries, chippy etc) The cottage was super toasty (I feel the cold, but I was nice and warm throughout my stay in November), and spotlessly clean. There is enough space to squeeze a second car behind the one in the parking space, without blocking the lane… we easily (but carefully) parked an Audi A6 (very long) with a pickup truck (also long) across the back of it. View across the fields to the loch from the snug is idyllic… I could have spent all day sitting in the armchair watching the sheep, who live just across the stream. The dog loved watching them too… we called the view The Sheep Channel/Sheep TV.
The beds are comfy, the linen and towels clean and fresh. Plenty of hot water. The cottage is roomy and the bedrooms are separated by the landing, so two couples could share without falling over each other. All-in-all a fab cottage from which to explore Skye… we would stay here again…

Beautiful location, very relaxing.

We had a fantastic week at Bridge Cottage! The cottage itself was cosy, clean and comfortable. The central location made it ideal for exploring the whole island, and its immediate environs provide lovely views and the relaxing trickle of the stream. We enjoyed lovely sunsets around the fire pit as well as cosy evenings snuggled up in front of the wood burner. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys peaceful holidays in the great outdoors!

We found the garden area to be very untidy and the gate poor quality. The bed was comfortable but the bedding was ripped. The cottage was small and cramped and we didn’t want to spend any time there. We spent our whole time driving. It wasn’t a very successful stay I’m afraid and we wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend this as a base as too far from many attractions. Sorry. Owner should improve garden and access and ripped sheets and obviously stains from previous pets soiling the carpet need to be removed. Doesn’t give a good first impression.

The cottage suited our purposes perfectly. It was fairly priced and better value than many similar properties on Skye. It was a very comfortable, cozy base for our walking holiday and generally very well-equipped. The visitors' handbook was very helpful (but we had some issues getting the television to work). Its central location was convenient for all the places we wanted to visit and it had fine views in all directions. It would have been nice to have a pub within walking distance but that's probably asking too much! I would happily return to Bridge Cottage.

The Bridge Cottage is very well located in Luib for exploring the whole Isle of Skye. We spent a week there in early March, with our three year old daughter. It was very easy to find and the directions were helpful, too.
The house has been lovingly renovated and has everything you need for a short vacation. However, the facility is unfortunately already a bit worn. For example, we could not turn on the two courtyard lights, which would have made it easier to arrive in the dark. Unfortunately, the small window in the bathroom could not be opened at all. With the double toaster only one half worked and some lightbulbs/lamps appeared to be broken. The living room door was also very difficult or impossible to close, because it was too long and rubbed on the beautiful wooden floor. These are all not big points and we were able to come to terms with them and still felt very comfortable.
A few days before our arrival, we were informed by the manager about water damage caused by a window left open. We appreciated that we were informed in advance and apart from a couple of unsightly stains on the bedroom carpet and living room ceiling this did not affect our holiday.
What we didn't like was finding dirty used pots in the closet. We had to clean them before we could use them. You might want to think about getting a dishwasher. There would still be enough space in the kitchen for this and it might be easier to avoid such incidents.
If these little things can still be fixed, this accommodation would be great. Because you can start great hikes from there, you have a great view of the pasture with the sheep and ponies of the neighbors and you are right on the sea. In the evening you can turn on the fireplace and end the day comfortably. When you sleep you can see the big tree in the garden and the stars in the sky and you can only hear the little stream babbling in front of the door. Pure relaxation!!!

We recommend this accommodation.

Unfortunately we arrived to find this cottage had not been cleaned well, if at all. We’ve stayed at many dog friendly cottages and this was the first one where it was evident dogs had stayed here. There was black dog hair throughout the cottage… flooring, bedding and even the cutlery drawer. Arriving on our first night, I had to hoover the cottage a few times. The hoover was full on arrival and the suction wasn’t great which explained why the floor was so dirty.
We arrived on a Saturday which meant no one was available to send a hoover until Monday. Even after leaving a voicemail, no-one contacted us on the Monday and we had to chase up again. Thankfully a Henry hoover was sent to the cottage which made such a difference but really disappointing to spend so much time cleaning the cottage.
The kitchen utensils, cutlery, pots and pans were also dirty and we had to wash a load of dishes before using anything.
Aside from the cottage being in a good location, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Lovely cottage, only suggestion is that the details on the Info pack left in Cottage needs to be updated, we were without water for 1 night, (general local fault) we arrived back after being out all day, and as it was passed office hours, I phoned the cleaners number only to be told she has not worked there for 3 years, ( felt bad for bothering her..) I then phoned cleaners details on info that was given to us before we went, again to be told she had not worked there for 1 year. Water was restored next day by Scottish Water, so it was not a problem. Also the bath had 2 plugs for it however neither of them worked, Hubby ran a bath, which just ran away, leaving only soap-suds ( he had a shower instead) Everything else absolutely fine. Enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was clean and as a group of four we were very comfortable. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Enough storage space and good heating to dry wet walking gear. The little porch made a nice sitting area (for one). Lovely to sit outside and watch the sheep, lambs and bird life and hear the babbling brook. A reasonable location for trips out.

My only criticism is that the sofa in the lounge is so saggy it's uncomfortable to sit on and needs replacing. The garden furniture is also past it's best.

This is a beautiful and well-equipped cottage in an ideal location on Skye. It is located in a very small and quiet village just off the main road a few miles from Broadford, with easy access to different parts of the island and good walks straight out of the door.

The cottage is decorated and fitted out to a very high standard throughout, with all the amenities and comforts you would expect. Apart from one thing. An old, rather saggy and uncomfortable leather sofa that takes up too much space in the living room. It seems out of place, especially compared to the comfortable high-quality armchairs in the same room. Replace this old sofa with one that matches the armchairs, and everything would be 5/5!

Had a beautiful week on the isle of Skye at bridge cottage. The location is brilliant for exploring the island. Walks are easily located close to the cottage which was great. The cottage itself is beautiful and clean and made for a brilliant relaxing stay. My only minor complaint was that the sofa was really uncomfortable and needs replacing. Also the porch area needs some coat racks. Lots of people will be on Skye for outdoor activities and it needs somewhere to dry boots/clothes. Water leaked through the chimney onto the log burner during really heavy rain.

We really enjoyed our time in Skye with Bridge Cottage as our base. The location is perfect for exploring as it is very close to the main road but set just far back enough that you have nice views over farmland and very little road noise. The wood burner was lovely for cosy evenings, and the kitchen was modern and well-stocked with cooking equipment. The only slight downside was the standard of cleaning - there was a fair amount of dog hair in the upstairs carpets from a previous occupant, and some of the kitchen dishwear needed washed before use (although that reflects more on previous guests). However, this was easily overlooked (and fixed with a quick hoover) as the location and cosy feel made us feel at home. I will miss having breakfast in the wee reading nook with a view of the farm animals and Loch Ainort.

We loved it!

Luib seemed to us to be an ideal location on the island as it is mid-way between Portree and Kyleakin and easy to get to Broadford for basics (although finding a butcher on Skye is like a needle in a haystack!)

When we walked in to the cottage we were really impressed! After reading some negative comments we had bought our own bedding- not required! The linen and bedding provided was totally fine. The place was clean. The layout is good, especially the kitchen and bedrooms.

We were so pleased with the cottage that we were totally prepared to overlook some negative points. These include a really deteriorated outside area with many weeds and broken furniture. It rained every day so we didn't need to sit outside! There were a number of broken light bulbs- but the cottage has so many that it made no difference. The cleaning was little lax. It was obvious that the guests before us had bought a dog- the covering of the poufe/ stool in the lounge was covered in dog hair. But a quick going over with the vacuum soon solved that! There were cobwebs behind the bathroom door. The wood burner hadn't been cleaned out. I emailed to mention these things (not fair to just stick them in a review) and got an immediate offer to sort them next day which I didn't need.

The rest was lovely and clean. The enormous American- style fridge freezer was great. The wifi astounded me at 35Mbps which meant that hooking up my laptop or phone to the TV was great for Netflix and iPlayer.

The whole place is heated using electrical heaters in every room so we could have cool bedrooms and a warm lounge. The leather sofa in the lounge was unuseable for us because we are quite short and couldn't sit back in it. the cushions kept sliding off anyway!

There is a lovely entrance room with a table and two armchairs which was ideal for drying off waterproofs and for sitting doing jigsaws!

We had a great stay and have already given details to 2 friends. Another tip- DON'T fill up the car on the mainland! It's currently 123p for diesel near Kyle of Lochalsh and only 114p on the island!

PS- the only butcher on the island is in the car park of a builder's merchants in Portree.... or get a delivery from the incessant Tesco delivery vans clogging up the roads.

The cosy little cottage, set back from the road in a lovely location was let down by a few small factors. On arrival we discovered a couple of minor cleaning issues, mugs with tea stains and a bowl with dried baked bean juice down the outside, together with a dirty chair (not sure what it was, didn’t want to look to close!). All the tourist info, which we thought would have been removed, was way out of date, including bin collections for 2017/18! Also the bedding wasn’t the best, very poor pillows which were very flat and lumpy, and the bottom sheet was very thin, revealing the fact there was no mattress protector. We were disappointed we couldn’t use the log burner, which we were informed about the week prior to our holiday. Finally, when we arrived we found the toilet seat was loose. These things, for the standard of accommodation, let it down.

The cottage is in the small hamlet of Luib, relatively central on the Isle of Skye. There's not much in the village itself apart from sheep and many other farm animals, you can start walking from the doorstep or venture to the seaside. It is nice and quiet with only the sound of the stream at night, we slept very good. The cottage is not very big, we were just three people which was fine. However, there's not enough storage space for clothes, wet shoes, jackets etc. We had some issues concerning cleanliness and a wifi that did not work, but we were told that this will be fixed soon. The cottage has a garden / yard with a table to sit at and a nice view towards the sheep, from the upstairs windows you can even get a glimpse of the sea.
This could be a very nice cottage if some work will be done to it, there's even a garden shed which could provide space for wet clothes or bikes ...

Nice cottage, but needs attention with the cleaning and there were 3 bad water leeks on the landing and in the fireplace. Bathroom ceiling paint kept on falling away in little white pieces. We found a big black mark on one of the kitchen cupboard doors. Many cobwebs and spider webs were not cleaned away and quite a few spiders in various rooms. I'm not saying the cottage is all bad, we loved it, but the cleaning before new customers arrive. It needs to be a whole lot better. Basically, attention to detail. Still a great cottage and great location.

Really lovely owners and great location which allowed us to travel the whole of Skye each day. We were there for 1 week and Bridge Cottage was the perfect location for us: it was clean, had good facilities and comfortable bed. I would advise future people to make sure the blinds are closed upstairs on hot days, as it does get stuffy upstairs and you can’t open windows because of midges. We brought a thin sheet and fan with us just in case (which we ended up using everyday as we were fortunate to have some warm weather) to make sleeping a bit more comfortable.

As advertised, the internet is slow so don’t expect speedy WiFi. You can watch Netflix on the tv if you have an account but turn off the WiFi on your phones and other devices and it’ll make it a bit faster, otherwise expect some buffering.

We had a great stay and would definitely recommend Bridge Cottage and the Isle of Skye to anyone looking for a comfortable stay and brilliant adventure.

Bridge cottage is a great place to stay, ideally situated between Broadford and Portree. The cottage is very modern and attractive inside and contained everything we needed for comfort / cooking / washing / entertainment (heating was easy to work on rainy days and shower was amazing!)). Wifi worked very well, but we didn't get a telephone reception on our phones (not really a problem though). The garden area wasn't dog proof, which would have been good, but we were informed of this before we travelled. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again and recommend to others!

The only negative thing was the overflowing refuse bin with a number of bin bags lying beside on our arrival.
Which affected it's initial kerb appeal after a long drive

Lovely cottage, well equipped and warm. We found it well located on the island to get to all areas, and it was not far from either the Skye bridge or the Armadale ferry.

Quiet and with a nice BBQ/patio area.

Friendly neighbours.

Would only suggest that bin emptying instructions need to be clearer we arrived to find full dustbins, then the bin men didn't empty it during our stay. So we found bins at the public car park at Broadford to take our refuse to.

We really enjoyed our week and would recommend this as a good base

We just got back from a week away at Bridge cottage and unfortunately it was spoilt by us getting stuck in the driveway on the first day and getting towed out by a lovely neighbour ! Apparently this has happened numerous times before yet no sign anywhere to say dont park in the driveway or anything blocking you ! Its been done cheaply and the ground has literally sunk/! There is also no visitor information in the cottage and no welcome pack, a pint of milk would have been good ! The cottage itself is lovely, decorated well and done tastefully with everything you would need , with lovely views, shame the other points let it down.

Bridge Cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard and has a modern but cozy feel. It is certainly a small cottage for four people but if you get along well, you will have a great time. It is located on a working farm and although not in walking distance to any pub or restaurant, Broadford is a short drive away and offers all amenities you might require (fuel, supermarket, restaurants etc.). There are a few walks starting near the cottage but we were missing some entertainment for rainy days: There were no games to play and the TV did not work either. Another slight annoyance was the lack of dish drying towels and the fact that one of us had to make do with two hand towels instead of a bath towel during our stay. It generally made the impression that the house was cleaned in a hurry (the vacuum cleaner was still in the doorway when we walked in). Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay at Bridge Cottage and would recommend the place to friends and family anytime.
