Kilmartin Cottage, Staffin is a spacious bungalow with uninterrupted views over Staffin Bay towards Applecross and the Torridon mountains. There is a large lounge with a picture window making the most of the views! The master double bedroom has an ensuite shower room. There is a further double and a twin bedroom. Situated above the shore with croftland to the side, it is in a peaceful location, surrounded by a private garden.

A very spacious and clean bungalow, with wonderful views, and lovely and private. Lacking in cosiness and warmth though, would be cold in the winter months, and needs a lot of TLC. Wardrobe door broken. Curtains are poorly hung, TV very poor, tried everything, even bought new batteries for the remote, but very difficult to get to work and then find channels. Internet drops a lot and have to keep rebooting the box, but thats not the bungalows fault. Enjoyed our stay here but..
It could be the prefect place, just needs some 'touches' and work

The cottage is in an excellent location. It has a wonderful large patio window to look out of to the sea and the islands. The lounge was large and the sofas were very comfortable. The porch was perfect to sit out in and it sheltered us from the wind and rain. The kitchen was well equipped, we had lovely meals enjoying the fantastic views. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the showers were great. We had a brilliant holiday and the cottage was perfect for us and our dog. We would love to book this cottage again and would definitely recommend it.

We spent some lovely days on Skye. The location of the house is beautiful. The furnishings are a bit old, the dryer was broken and the washing machine was very dirty. We really liked the large sofas with a view of the sea.
The access is a bit difficult, you have to move pylons to the side twice and open two gates and close them after driving through. It wasn't a problem for us because one of us always had to walk the whole way to do everything, but it's worth knowing.
The contact with the agency was very good and inquiries were always answered very quickly. Thank you very much, we would rent this property again.

The Kilmartin Cottage is a beautiful house to stay in - three comfortable bedrooms, large living room with the best "TV" - a large window with a sea view; kitchen to prepare meals; two bathrooms (a big comfort with 6 adults). Many of the must-see places within a short drive or even a walk. A bus stop within about 300 meters to be able to reach Portree, Uig, The Old Man of Storr etc. without using the car. The busses are reliable - we enjoyed them. There are just two points I would like to mention - the double beds are not too large - one of them 140 cm, the other one 160 cm which is not very comfortable when coming as a group of adults that are only friends, not married couples or so. The other point I would like to mention involves the dishes - especially the pots. With a group of 6 adults it was a bit challenge to cook for example pasta etc. in the small pots. But we managed it... And enjoyed the stay very, very much. We would definitely come again. It's a paradise there...

Warm and cozy cottage right on Staffin Bay. Cottage had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was quite well stocked for self catering. Location was excellent for seeing all the sights on the North end of Skye. 15 min drive to Quairang and Old Man of Storr (and Kilt rock). 30 mins to Portreee. We loved our time at Kilmartin Cottage.

Very nice location, despite of the fact that to reach the house we had to go through another property and open and close two gates. The furniture was not adapted to this type of stay and it was too scarce. Tableware was limited to 6 of any kind (6 plates, 6 bowls, etc).

Beautiful and spacious house in a really outstanding area!! It was great to be there! We, four adults and a four year old girl, stayed for three weeks and we enjoyed every single day. We saw dolphins swimming right in front of us, every day different skies and beatifull colours in the sky, everything visible from the couch through the large window of the house. We made several nice walks near the house. Corran beach at the corner, the Qiurrang and Old Man of Stor a few minutes drive from the house. A reasonably well-stocked shop within walking distance. And if you need more groceries you drive along a beautiful road in 25 minutes to Portree.
We loved the house, it had everything we needed, so neutrally furnished that you can quickly make it cozy yourself with some things of your own.
Although we would certainly like to come back to this house (!), there are some things that can be improved. A house for six people could use a bit more coffee and tea cups, as well as a large saucepan and salad bowl. Although it was generally very clean, we also found (dog) hair here and there. The vacuum cleaner turned out to be clogged with a broken and very dirty vacuum cleaner bag, no fun to solve that. But once we solved those first annoying things we enjoyed all the good things about this house.

Had a fantastic time with my family. Perfect location to enjoy Isle Of Skye. Close to Staffin beach and ideally located for all view points in North Skye. Awesome views, scenery and serenity. Highly recomended.

Kilmartin cottage has it all, everything an outdoor family or enthusiast needs in order to fully explore Skye. Located in the picturesque town of Staffin the cottage site is so perfect you just can’t get any closer to the bay without getting wet. The cottage is enviably placed in the Trotternish region, an area generously loaded with some of Skyes most outstanding hiking and photographic sites. Quiraing is a three minute drive and commands a prominent section of your front yard view, simply stunning. An Corran beach can be walked to in 15 minutes if you want to find prehistoric dinosaur foot prints embedded in the seaside stone. The Old Man of Storr is a short 15 minute drive, and Fairy Glen close to Uig, is a nice 30 minute coastal drive. This location can’t be beat for convenience. A local corner store that supplies most everything you need is only a ten minute walk. For full shopping needs Portree is a quick 30 miles away. The cottage is spacious with an amazing front room view, you can easily stare out at the view all day. The rooms are very comfortable and well heated, bathrooms are fully updated and the kitchen is large and equipped with everything you need to make anything you can dream up. A separate dinning room is located adjacent to the kitchen and blends into the front living room thru a wide arch way giving a pleasant ocean view whilst eating. After a day it quickly feels like home and at weeks end you’ll not want to leave.

We had a fantastic week at Kilmartin cottage. Rather than a cottage it is a modern, comfortable, spacious bungalow in a beautiful location with stunning views from every window. The house has a minimalistic feel, no ornaments, lovely artwork and an every changing picture as you watch the weather roll in and out over Staffin Bay. We even saw the Northern Lights. The location is superb for exploring northern Skye.

2nd visit. Literally the best view in the UK of all the places we have stopped at. We had two tiny issues with things that broke whilst we were there, and thanks to Kath, these were attended and fixed within 24hours. That one of them was a replacement shower was especially impressive, given the location.

Would benefit from more mirrors in the bedrooms and the grass being tidied up a bit but overall a stunning house in a stunning location. Would definitely go back.

The bungalow is in an excellent position overlooking the sea, gorgeous views of the Quiraign and in walking distance from the beach and local shop. The garden is large and enclosed perfect for our dog. It was very spacious with very comfy beds! Well equipped but minimal and uncluttered.

Kilmartin cottage has stunning views of the bay from a beautiful large picture window to just sit and watch is so relaxing. Ideally based for the north side of the island and easy access to the road, yet set away in peace and quiet. Nice walk along the coast to Staffin Beach area too.

The cottage looks like it has recently been refurbished and is very spacious, clean and tidy and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen is well equipped, beds comfy.

Would highly recommend a stay here.

We had never stayed in this part of Skye before, despite many visits to the island, and found it stunning. Kilmartin Cottage was perfectly situated to give us wonderful views of the sea, Staffin Island, the Outer Hebrides - and of course the Quirang. We were also lucky enough to be able to watch otters from the comfort of our picnic bench!
It helped that the weather was wall-to-wall sunshine, and the midges hadn't yet hatched!
The cottage had everything we needed, and is very well cared for by the lovely, friendly housekeeper next door.
I think we might just book it again for next year!

What a fantastic location! We loved watching the sea and sky, every day was a treat. Kilmartin Cottage is warm and comfortable, with fantastic views. We would have liked a teapot but otherwise a fantastic holiday let in a beautiful place. As always, the staff at Islands and Highlands were so helpful and a delight to book from. The good : fantastic location, very quiet location, warm and snug house, comfy beds, great views
The bad : minimal furniture, crockery, kitchen equipment, lack of waste bins in the house, lack of mirrors (to dry hair, apply make up etc) except in main bedroom, it was ok for 2 of us but if 6 people stayed you might struggle. No radio or DVD, TV had Netflix so only ok if you can sign in, so be aware if you have children and the weather is not good there is not much for them to do, only the unmown garden. Workmen arrived at 8.00 am one day complete with mini digger and chain saw, apparently to repair the stone wall, it would have been nice to have been warned as we did not know who they were or what was happening. It is a shame because the house and garden have wonderful potential but are sadly lacking. It was particularly noticeable having just staying in 2 other cottages on Skye which were "home from home" and in equally great locations, on our 3 week stay on Skye.

The cottage is in a wonderful location over looking Staffin Bay. It provides good sized accommodation and is very comfortable. I’ve provided some minor feedback that the kitchen equipment could do with some enhancements to make it absolutely perfect.

Kilmartin cottage is a wonderful place to stay, the location for us was perfect, around 30 mins by car from Portree, 15 mins by car from the Old Man of Storr, and literally a 10 minute walk to the Beach with the Dinosaur footprints, which we were lucky to see. There are also some really nice walks close by, we also took a drive to explore the north of Skye. The cottage itself is spacious, with all appliances that you could need, the beds are comfortable and overall furnishing was to a high standard. The best part though, standing outside and taking in the view from your doorstep, looking out to the sea and the view of the Quiraing and then at night stepping out to look up and take in the blanket of stars that covers the sky, it really is something else. All in all this was the perfect break that we needed to get away, we will definitely be back to Skye and we would highly recommend Kilmartin Cottage to anyone thinking of taking a trip themselves.

A very lovely cottage with beautiful views on all sides. The location is great for exploring this wonderful part of Skye. There are plenty of great walks close by whether you want a stroll or something more challenging. There are 2 well stocked village shops very close by. The house has plenty of room for all with comfortable, good size rooms and good showers! Super friendly and helpful caretaker who responded very swiftly when we had a small issue that needed resolving.

We had a fantastic time at Kilmartin Cottage, and had everything we needed. The house is in a great location and is nice and quiet, and we could even use the smart tv to watch netflix on rainy days. Some of the dishes could have been a bit cleaner when we arrived but that's really the fault of the previous guests!

The cottage is in a beautiful location overlooking Staffin bay. The cottage is light, airy and spacious. It is ideally placed for some of Skye’s most iconic viewpoints. The dinosaur beach is a fifteen minute walk, Mealt Falls, Kilt Rock and the Quiraing ( apparently pronounced K-ragg) are all minutes away. Will be heading back here on day.

Kilmartin Cottage is in such a great situation that you couldn't help but stare out of the window at the ever changing view. We saw a bit of every weather, rain, snow, wind and sunshine but in general the weather was very good. If you like boats/ships then there's a good deal of traffic to see on The Minch. We also saw the odd seal, various seabirds and loads of buzzards. Just along from the house we managed to find the dinosaur footprints in the rock at An Corran.

The house itself was comfortable with temperatures outside getting down to zero degrees. Two nice big sofas and a very comfortable bed ensured sleep was easy. There were only two of us staying there but it can sleep six which shouldn't be a problem as the rooms are very spacious. Wi-fi was fine and although the TV stations on the Freesat were very limited, Netflix was available.

This property was perfect for our get together with friends. Our party consisted of 2 under 2’s and 2 couples and we found that the space worked perfectly for all of us. We stayed over New Year so didn’t make much use of the garden, but would definitely return in summer! The location was perfect for us, with excellent views and so peaceful! We would highly recommend staying here.

This was a perfect location for our stay while visiting the Isle of Skye. So peaceful and enjoyable. The scenery absolutely beautiful. A lot of opportunities for hiking through the highlands. Beautiful pics.

Wir waren 5 Tage in dem Ferienhaus, welches am Ende einer Privatstraße direkt am Atlantik liegt. Kein Straßenlärm, nur das Wasser vor uns und kaum sichtbar ein paar wenige Häuser in der Nachbarschaft. Das Haus selber hat sehr viel Platz zum Ausbreiten, ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sehr sauber. WLAN ist stabil und schnell. Wenn am Abend die Sonne untergeht und man dort sitzt und die Szenerie betrachtet, möchte man nicht wieder weg. Eine perfekte Unterkunft für alle die Platz, Ruhe und den Atlantik direkt vor sich haben möchten. Wir würden dort sofort wieder buchen.

The house itself is a bog standard suburban house that does its job. The real show stopper is the absolutely incredible location with its great views of Staffin bay and the Quiraing. The ocean is only a few metres away, though there is no direct access. Not a big problem as the "beach" is bog and rocks anyway. The very nice An Corran beach has sand and supposedly dinosaur foot prints (we didn't find any) and it is about 10 minutes by foot (or 2 minutes by car).
From the inside the views are still gorgeous, yet no match for being in front of the building. It's still very nice inside and the views from the sofa would qualify as amazing in most other situations. It just hurts a bit knowing how much more they could have made out of this location (e.g. larger windows facing the bay, a winter garden, a wind protected patio...).
The house is very spacious and newly furnished. It's all fairly nice. It feels a bit empty in parts, but we preferred that over clutter. More cloth hooks and towel racks would be good though.
Everything was clean except for the dishes left by the previous visitors. Not really a surprise as you have to wash/dry/put everything away before you leave which makes it impossible to use the dish washer after your departure day breakfast. Just be ready to run the dish washer upon arrival.

8.5 / 10
9 out of 10 if I hadn't had the sense of wasted potential. Recommended for everyone but architects.

A magnificent cottage located in a very picturesque spot. The cottage was very clean and spacious. We brought stuff with us from Glasgow, but it turned out that the cottage had everything that we needed for. So, no need to bring your own utensils, pots or dishwasher tablets.. The owners have thought of everything even the smallest detail.

There was only one drawback. When we opened the cottage there was an unpleasant smell, but as soon as we opened the windows it disappeared.
