Taigh na Laige, Kildonan is a light and airy holiday cottage which enjoys lovely sea views. It has an open lounge / dining / kitchen area with log burner, a double bedroom and a bathroom with walk-in shower, W.C. and wash hand basin. It is surrounded by a private garden with picnic table and there is parking to the front and side of the property. The views are superb, sweeping over the island's peninsulas and out towards the Outer Hebrides in the distance.

We had an absolutely superb stay at Taigh na Laige. The cottage itself is so comfortable and made very cosy by the log burner. A full kitchen, large bathroom with an excellent shower, extremely comfortable bed and lounge area and then there's the view...what a delight to wake up to every morning! We were blessed with some decent weather and saw some lovely sunsets as we enjoyed cooking on the BBQ. Lovely touches with a bottle of prosecco and chocolates left for us, made our stay even more special. I must also mention the linen, the towels and sheets were a delight, so soft!
There are also loads of maps, books and guides supplied to peruse with a wealth of information about Skye. It's only a 20 min drive from Portree and it's conveniences but felt wonderfully remote and quiet which is just what we wanted.
There is also a fantastic pub just 2 miles away, the Edinbane Inn, which we visited several times. Great food and service.
Overall we loved our stay and would most definitely book Taigh na Laige again!

My partner and I had a lovely time at this little cottage tucked away in a lovely secluded area with spectacular views of the coast and wildlife grazing in fields surrounding. The hosts provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay (towels, sheets, firewood for the log burner, coals for the barbecue, even a lovely welcome bottle of Prosecco), and the house itself was a cosy base after our tiring days which were mostly spent hiking and exploring food and coffee places around the island.

The cottage is easily-accessible by car (only a 20 minute drive from Portree) and comes well-equipped with a full kitchen set, washing machine and dishwasher. Only thing was there was no Wi-Fi but it wasn't a problem for us (there's decent phone/data signal from the cottage). Couldn't recommend it enough, thank you to our hosts for such a lovely and memorable stay :)

My wife and I stayed here for three nights but wish it could have been longer.
The cottage is perfectly designed for a comfortable holiday for two people. The location is totally peaceful with lovely views of surrounding hills and the sea.
The north of Skye is beautiful, with many places to explore and the road to Portree is excellent and allows an easy drive to start exploring further afield.

We stayed at the cottage for a few days, taking in the views across Loch Snizort out towards the peaks of the Outer Hebrides, which you could see from the main room and bedroom. The views are incredible and we found ourselves relaxing on the Adirondack chairs most mornings and evenings! Birds, sheep and a few deer were spotted during our stay.

This cottage is centrally located for activities across northern Skye and we never felt like a drive to Portree or hiking spots was more than a half hour. This is an island where there are definitely more sheep than people; a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Logistically check in was a breeze, instructions were clear, and the welcome gift was a nice touch. 10/10 stay during our holiday.

We had such a wonderful week staying at Taigh na Laige. The cottage had everything we needed during our stay and we very much appreciated the little extras including the welcome gift on arrival! The cottage was located well for us to explore all sides of Skye, we particularly enjoyed visiting Loch Coruisk and Raasay and would highly recommend to future guests. Key collection was simple and allowed us good flexibility in arrival and departure time. We would love to come back again in the future and will be recommended the cottage to our friends and family. Stayed here in 2016 and was glad to have the opportunity to stay again. The cottage has been well maintained since my previous visit. Love the location as nicely secluded without being too far away from places of interest. Only defeated by the weather which curtailed a few plans, so, once that improved, I tried to extend my stay as the property was showing vacant for several days on the website. Sadly, that didn't happen.

This is our third year coming to the cottage. We love the scenery, quiet and relaxing. Well equipped for our stay. The short bread and chocolate was much appreciated. Very clean and comfortable.
We enjoying walking from the cottage to Edinbane. Our weather was good, we even got sitting outside. We will definitely be returning. Would highly recommend for a quiet relaxing holiday.

We had a very comfortable week at Taigh na Laige. The directions were easy to follow and we were thrilled with a lovely welcome gift, which was a nice touch. There is a lovely open plan kitchen, dining and living area with everything you need. We especially found the corner shelves of guidebooks and maps particularly helpful. It was like having your own TIC. There is a log fire but the westher was kind to us so we didn't use it. The views are amazing and the location is very quiet and away from the tourist bustle but central enough to reach all the places of interest on Skye. We would highly recommend this place and Hope to return another day.

This is our second holiday at this cottage. We were on holiday last year. The cottage is lovely, area quiet and tranquil. Everything you need is in the cottage and more. We would highly recommend a stay here. The views are stunning. Very clean and comfortable.

A beautiful cottage with everything you need provided. Great walking ideas with maps ,guides and walks provided -a brilliant idea and also many tourist attractions with lots of brochures. It is very cosy with a lovely log fire. The kitchen is well equipped and the little table top freezer is great for putting in all you need for the week.
A lovely view from the windows and there are chairs outside and a bench with umbrella when the weather is warm.

Lovely cottage in a lovely setting. Fantastic views over the sea to neighbouring islands and beautiful sunsets! The cottage is in a good position to visit attractions in the North of Skye, though if you like walking, not many walks in the vicinity and the lack of access to the shore of the local Loch was a disappointment. But all in all great cottage and setting, would definitely recommend it!

When we arrived at Tigh na Laige,the heating was on & it was warm & inviting. The owner had left us a bottle of prosecco,as well as some chocolates & biscuits...that was a lovely touch!
The cottage had a wonderful view towards the Outer Hebrides & it was well equipped for two people to have a peaceful holiday.
It was clean & comfortable & one of the best cottages we have stayed in on Isle of Skye.
It is in a quiet location, but not far from Portree,so was was convenient to drive to all parts of tnhe island.
We had a great holiday!

This is a great location with beautiful views.
Clean and very comfortable, ideal for 2. Super efficient log burner but also great central heating which also supplies plenty for hot water for a great shower. Certainly comes recommended. No WiFi was a major plus for us.

Taigh na Laige is the perfect Skye retreat. It is remote but still accessible and close enough to essential shops/amenities in Portree and Dunvegan, with great views of the Outer Hebrides and almost pitch black skies which are amazing for star gazing. The cottage is very well equipped and has all mod cons. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I had a wonderful anniversary trip to the Isle of Skye. We loved our stay at Taigh na Laige. The views were amazing from the cottage. It was cozy and comfortable with a fabulous kitchen. It has a fabulous library with any tourist type book you might want. The cottage's location was ideal for exploring the island while feeling like you were secluded. We would absolutely recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye and we want to go back again and again. It was so relaxing and refreshing!

Well fitted out and supplied with all you need for self accomodation and cooking.

Beautifully maintained cottage. Everything you could possibly need was provided and more. Our only criticism was that the bed was a small double with what appeared to be an old mattress that smelt old the whole time we were there. If this was changed the cottage would be classed as ‘perfect ‘.

As soon as we arrived we felt like at home, cozy , warm, very clean,very well equipped we found everything we needed and even more.
We can’t find one thing to complain about.
Located perfectly for us in a quiet neighbourhood with amazing sea views. Perfect for a walks and not far distance from town and shops (15 minuets drive)

Stunning rustic cottage in a beautiful location, approximately 11 miles outside Portree. The cottage has lots of character and is beautifully furnished with all amenities, including washing machine with dryer, dish washer, central heating etc. The welcome gift of chocolates and a bottle of Proseco was also much appreciated.

I would definitely recommend this little gem to any one travelling to the Isle of Skye.

Gorgeous remote location, very quiet area, superb cottage with lovely decoration and well equipped. We brought a number of uneeded things with us, but all was provided for. We were very happy with the cottage, and the owners live next door (although out of sight) if needed (we didn't).

We had no problem locating and accessing the cottage from the comprehensive information supplied.

The property is not huge but is very comfortable and well equipped. There is a useful 'library' of Hebridean information for planning trips out.

The location gives views out over the loch and the cottage is ideally placed to use as a base for touring Skye.

We would certainly come again and have no hesitation in recommending Taigh na Laige.

Lovely well kept cottage for two in a quite location looking towards loch. Plenty of utensils, crockery, towels etc provided (more than enough two people) as well as logs and kindling and a small library to spend a few hours reading.
Met the owners who are a lovely helpful couple and live close to the cottage.
A welcome bottle of prosecco, sweets and shortbread ready for you when you arrive. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to stay on Skye

A wonderful cottage in a great location. Was pleased to find so much provided for, much more than i have ever seen in other cottages. The sofa was comfy but ideally would have liked an armchair or different chair in lounge area other than the wicker chair. The woodburner was great and the cottage was lovely and cosy for the majority of our stay, just an issue with boiler on last morning meant no hot water for shower/washing up etc.
The views from the cottage were lovely and it was ideally located to discover the island. Overall though we loved our stay and would reccomend it to anyone.

The cottage is immaculate. There is nothing missing or overlooked. It is cozy beyond belief, no matter what the Skye weather throws at it. Attention to detail is amazing. It is equidistant from either Portree or Dunvegan in a very convenient, yet private locale. The scenery is stunning. This is truly a gem of a place to stay.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished and is equipped with everything you would need at home. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious and warm. The Prosecco and chocolates were a very welcomed gift awaiting our arrival after a long journey! The location was excellent with walks along the coastline and the views from the cottage were lovely. Quite genuinely couldn't fault the place. Will definitely come back in the future and have already recommended it to family and friends as a place to stay when visiting Skye.

We stayed at Taigh na Laige for 3 nights on our honeymoon and we could not have found a more perfect retreat. Jason and Lynne were very kind and left us a beautiful gift bag, as a wedding present containing lovely treats from the island. The cottage is in exceptional condition, probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in and the location was second to none. We spent a wonderful evening sipping prosecco outside in the sunshine, enjoying the breathtaking views towards the Outer Hebrides. The location is secluded and quiet, yet only a couple of miles from a lively village pub. We don't tend to visit the same location twice but for this place, we may well make an exception!

We booked this cottage for a weekend on our recent tour of Scotland. It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. the directions to the property were spot on, nice and easy to find. We were welcomed by Lynne and shown round the beautiful cottage. The cottage had everything that we needed & a very comprehensive library of places to visit and things to do while on the beautiful Island of Skye. We would stay here again, the perfect spot for a romantic holiday for two. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Can't fault accomodation, best equipped holiday cottage ever best shower too! Ideally situated for exploring island by car or bike. Several good eating places within at least 15min drive.

Lovely cottage with all the home comforts you would expect, a comfy bed, a well equipped kitchen and a nice log burner.
Bedding and towels were supplied so the only thing we nedded to bring was food.
Had a great library with info on local attractions, walking routes and maps, which was excellent for planning days out.
The cottage is in a fairly remote location, which we liked, but it is only a short car journey to Portree for provisions and it is in an ideal location for investigating the north of the island.
Stayed 3 nights and by the end of the first night the cottage felt like home.
