Taigh Uilleim, Roag is a modern holiday home with breathtaking views of the Cuillin ridge and of Loch Bracadale. There is a large open lounge with picture windows showcasing the superb views! A well equipped dining kitchen and downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there is the family bathroom, a double bedroom and the other bedroom can either be a twin or a double. Sleeping up to four people it is perfect for families, friends and couples alike.

Absolute beautiful and spacious cottage. Large kitchen with all equipment provided. All spotless.
Living room, bedrooms, bathroom all spacious and modern furnished.

I didn't believe a place like this existed! Modern, comfortable, technological, sustainable... the fjord and the entire island are exceptional and with a reference point like this Cottage it's incredible!!! As a Photographer I made the most of the location and the entire island by photographing the Milky Way and the Northern Lights of August 13, 2024 from the porch of the Cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay at Taigh Uilleim. It is in a fabulous spot with lots of parking and a wrap around garden. Downstairs there are big windows that allow you to enjoy the fabulous views, you could sit there and watch the wildlife for quite some time. We had hares, an owl and many birds visit the garden. The location is very peaceful yet just a few minutes from the main road with Dunvegan village just a few minutes away. The property is well equipped, comfortable and spacious, it may possibly need a little refresh on the paint internally in the not too distant future. We wouldn't hesitate to book the property again.

Very VERY nice cottage, with beautiful views. We saw the whole Cuillin range, and the nearby Loch is so beautiful that I took photos every day. Lots of room in the house, a beautiful kitchen, comfortable bed. Very quiet location.
We, as senior foreigners, don't understand the tv very well and didn't find many interesting channels - but we had books.
The only lighting in the living room is ceiling lights. That doesn't make the atmosphere cosy in the evenings.
Apart from those minor things, it's a beautiful place and we would certainly come back.

We have had a very nice stay at this place.
The provider of owner should spent more time and energy to check the work of the housekeeping before the arrival of the next guests. Not every user had the same idear of leaving a clean kitchen for example. So its your job to balance it.
Over all it were great holidays!!

Comfortable, warm and modern house in a beautiful location. The house was well-equipped (more so than many holiday lets we have stayed in) with comfy beds and a good selection of books and games. It could have been cleaner if I'm completely honest. However, on the whole, a great house which was good value for money. We'd definitely return.

Great location, easy to find, and only one mile on a single track after turning off the main road. Kitchen was very well-equipped and has ventilation but lacks a fan above the cooktop so isn't suitable for heavy duty cooking. Beautiful views from the large windows which have venetians. Unfortunately previous guests treated the cottage roughly, already damaging the kitchen blinds so they couldn't be lowered. Those with mobility issues should avoid the cottage as the bedrooms and full bath require going up a spiraling staircase that requires being very careful.

The modern house is located in a small quiet village a short drive away from Dunvegan where one can find a small grocery, a bakery, several restaurants, a petrol station and a post office. Uig (ferry to Tarbert) and Portree (supermarket, shops) can be reached within half an hour.

We were provided with clear instructions how to find and how to enter the house by the agency. Special thanks to the housekeeper who clearly runs a tight ship. The home was perfectly clean and everything was in its place.

This practical vacation home has everything to make a stay comfortable (washer/dryer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, well-equipped kitchen, vestibule for wet jackets and shoes). Wlan was reliable and streaming services could be accessed. The views from the comfortable sofa and from the dining table are simply great. The house can accommodate four persons and provides ample space in living room and kitchen. The porch is a useful addition on warmer days. There are highland midges outside, but they were not a big issue and insect repellant kept them easily at bay. The midges did not venture inside the house.

There were just a few small things that could be improved. One of the blinds wasn't fully functional, we missed a power outlet next to the relatively small sink in the main bathroom and a kitchen hood would be probably beneficial for those who like to cook. All these minor issues did not affect our very pleasant stay in any major way. Overall, I can highly recommend Taigh Uilleim to anybody who is looking for a quiet and scenic spot that is not too far from the next village with some infrastructure.

Gorgeous cottage. We could not fault a thing. The view is amazing. You can just sit and look out of the window for hours. The only improvement I could think of is a telescope for the lounge area so you can properly watch the birds!

Cottage is easy to get to and a good location for visiting lots of the island. I can highly recommend.

The property has amazing views of Skye and is extremely modern. We stayed for a week and the property was centrally located allowing us to see all the sights. It also has a fantastic local surrounding of walks and scenery to explore. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

We spent 4 nights at Taigh Uilleim in late December / early January and had a fantastic stay. The cottage is big and very spacious with a lovely modern kitchen, nice bedrooms with good storage, a great living area with wonderful views and a handy utility area and WC when you first enter the cottage. It's in a great location - just over 30 mins' drive to Portree and Carbost, and only a few minutes to Dunvegan. It is also convenient for Waternish, Coral Beach and Neist Point. Would definitely recommend the cottage and would happily stay again.

From the first moment we opened the front door, we could sense the quality of Taigh Uilleim. It was clean and fresh, without any of the "scents" other places sometimes use to mask suspicious odours. It is obviously built with high quality materials and the design is spacious and well laid out. The temperature inside was perfectly comfortable throughout our stay and it is good to know that the house and water are heated by a ground source pump. The view is great (and endlessly varied as the weather comes and goes!) The kitchen is well equipped with quality pots and pans and plenty of cutlery and crockery, a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven and 5 ring induction hob. Upstairs, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom next door was very pleasant. Situated just a couple of miles or so south of Dunvegan, the drive to Sligachan takes about 30 minutes; Glen Brittle is about 50 minutes away and Portree about 30 minutes away, depending on which way you go. We were sorry to leave and will try to go back.

Great views and a good location for exploring the north of Skye. The garden area has now grown into a lawn with a meadow around it, looks much better than in the photos and there were 2 garden chairs provided as well. The kitchen was well stocked, we had everything we needed for cooking. There was also a full size fridge freezer.

After a 2 day trip to get to the accommodation it did not disappoint it is down some rather bumpy back roads, remember to turn left by the phone boxing it is on the left.
The accommodation was clean and spacious with great views from the windows a nice large kitchen diner and living room, the telly is a bit awkward to watch due to it position and the light evenings.
The bathroom was goos with a nice bath and shower.
The main bedroom had plenty of cupboard space and a nice comfortable bed.
One issue with the bedroom is the window there is a gap down one side due to its fitting and when it is windy you get wind noise and occasionally rain drips through so don't leave anything directly underneath it.
We were informed before we arrived that the washer drier was broken and on arrival it had still not been repaired so we had to hand wash cycling and outdoor clothing we had with us not the best with the changeable Scottish weather.
You may also find that you get woken up by one of the gulls who had a nasty habit of knocking on the kitchen windows as soon as it was light.

If you are wanting peace and quiet with the most amazing views then this is the place for you!
Off the beaten track but very easy to find.
The house was clean and tidy and easy accessible.
We enjoyed a lovely relaxing week with lovely weather too.
Set up for a family but can be comfy for friends sharing too.
Location and the view is key for this property.

We had the loveliest stay at Taigh Uilleim. The view alone was worth the price. I am pretty sure from atop the Cuillin ridge we could see the house too. The house was warm, bright, cheery, and a wonderful home base for the week. Dunvegan is a lovely part of Skye and now is our favourite area. The house was warm and seemed superbly energy efficient. The picture windows and brightness were a fantastic change from our Glasgow tenament flat. We really loved everything about our stay.

We were overwhelmed with this lovely house. The location was perfect. Not on a main road but about a mile down a winding country lane. Overlooking the loch so wonderful views whichever room you were in. The weather was perfect during our stay apart from one wet day which we didn’t mind as we spent the day relaxing in the comfortable lounge. The house is very spacious light and warm. The huge skylights in the bedrooms and upstairs landing let in so much light so we didn’t use the blinds provided. All we could hear were the birds in the night. Everywhere was spotless and we had everything we could possibly need. We couldn’t find one thing that we didn’t like. Apart from the fact we weren’t able to live there permanently Perfect!!!!

We enjoyed our stay in this newly built, spacious and comfortable house very much.
The views from the panoramic windows were a constant joy, whatever the weather.
We found the quiet location convenient for touring the island.

In comparison to other properties in the same price range we rented over the years, where during a two-weeks-stay towels and bed linen was changed and the house was cleaned after the first week, the customer service was a bit sparse.
During stormy nights the constant creaking and clattering (of the wooden cladding?) made sleeping difficult.

Wonderful views and great property in superb condition. Location is great for getting to lots of nice places such as coral sands, fairy bridge at Sligachan, Waternish and Portree but like most places on Skye need a car to get about. Lots of books and games for quiet nights in too though and a little welcome pack which was a nice touch.

A bit off the beaten track but it’s only a ten minute drive to Dunvegan for the village shop and we knew there were lovely views across the loch to the Cuillins if the weather had been better!
Spacious accommodation, all clean, attractive and new. Beds and chairs comfortable. Well equipped kitchen but furnishings in bed and living rooms rather sparse, eg only a bed and the built in wardrobes in the bedroom so took a dining chair up; and only one large low table In centre of living room so nowhere for everyone to put cups, glasses, books etc once seated.
But its all very new and we understand there may be bits and pieces planned for next season, so would rate it very good overall.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting. Very comfortable and has all conveniences. Very thoughtful little welcome packet. Only possible improvement we could think of would be some tips for restaurants and information about nearby walks. There are maps available in the cottage though.

We rented Taigh Uilleim for a 4-night stay, and it was among the highlights of our 3-week trip to Scotland. The property is a beautiful place in an extraordinary setting. Its minimalist, light-filled interior makes it the perfect place to absorb the incredible vistas that Skye offers. The cottage itself is a gorgeous design, with many green features, blending beautifully into the landscape. The views it provides - particularly of the Black Cuillins - are second to none. It has all off the necessary comforts, including a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and very comfortable beds and bedding. The location is ideal as a base for excursions all over Skye - although there is also a strong temptation to just say close and enjoy a piece of paradise. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

We booked this last minute and so glad we did! This is a great location and views are spectacular! The house is beautiful and so comfortable. Everything is provided including a lovely welcome gift of shortbread fudge, milk, tea, sugar etc.
although the island lived up to its title of the misty isle , we had a great week and will return soon.

We (two couples) were staying one week in the cottage during our holidays in Scotland. After ten nights in our tents, we enjoyed the comfort of this well-equipped and well-situated cottage. Both the kitchen table and the sitting-room couch provide a direct view to the cuillin mountains. Also there are opportunities for walking and trail running (MacLeods Tables, MacLeods Maidens) nearby. Thank you very much for providing this cottage! We can cordially recommend it.
