Tigh na Dalach, Plockton is within easy walking distance of pubs and restaurants yet tucked away in a peaceful location. Once a fisherman's cottage, this characterful cottage has a lounge with a snug leading off, a kitchen / dining room and a bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, two twin bedrooms and a second bathroom. The front garden leads to the water's edge and has a picnic table from which you can enjoy the views of Plockton Craigs.

A quiet picturesque location. Comfortable cottage. More wardrobe space would be helpful. On the whole a fantastic place to holiday.

This is the third time we have stayed here and we adore the cottage. The position is glorious and it is very homely. We particularly love the big, light kitchen.

If Plockton is the 'Jewel of the Highlands' - as it undoubtedly is - then Tigh na Dalach is the Koh-i-Noor of cottages. Superbly situated, equipped and maintained. We enjoyed a superb fortnight; thank you so much.

The scenery, the setting, the community, and our experiences throughout the region were magical. Tigh na Dalach was the perfect base for our extended sabbatical. It had all of the conveniences we needed while offering all the charm that one might hope for from a classic costal cottage in the Highlands. We look forward to returning.

Everything I was desiring for a relaxing sabbatical was wrapped up in this package called Tigh na Dalach. The house had the charm of yesteryear but was still cozy and comfortable. It was away from the main road in town, but still close to everything important. The faint smell of coal smoke from nearby chimneys, the distant clickety-clack of the train across the loch, the warm greetings from cordial neighbors were all highly nostalgic and deeply satisfying. The memories from our time here will be cherished for years to come.

Tigh na Dalach is a wonderful place to be able to stay. Like the title of he review a home from home. We were privileged to stay here for two weeks. Watching the tides and wildlife from house and garden. Wonderful. Excellent location, Plockton is pure heaven.
The cottage is comfortable, has everything you need. We enjoyed our two weeks immensely and felt relaxed straight away. Not only does the cottage provide you with ideal base from which to explore, Plockton is lovely to walk round, excellent pubs,Inn and Plockton Shores was heaven. Callum's not trips as entertaining as ever. And try Jimmy's Walk - a treasure within a treasure. I can highly recommend this cottage.

We'd visited Plockton before but had never stayed over - we could not have hoped for a better base than Tigh na Dalach for our first holiday there!

The location is superb - overlooking Loch Carron, with a garden to enjoy the views from. The house itself is spacious, well equipped and comfortable.

We enjoyed walking around Plockton, and visited Skye a few times.

Half of our family group stayed here, in the quietest part of Plockton. It’s a very pretty cottage, tastefully and comfortably furnished and the spacious kitchen was ideal. It overlooks a creek and has a safe, small fenced garden over the lane at the front with a table and benches. We loved it.

We found the house was ideal for our family group, deceptively large, roomy and comfortable, and very fully equipped. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location, on the seafront, away from the main road but still close to the village. The shorefront garden was lovely for sitting out and watching the world go by, we hope to be able to stay again next year!

We had a fabulous time in Plockton. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well furnished with all necessary equipment (although we couldn't locate the clothes iron). The private waterside garden is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the beautiful scenery. The internet connection is very good with full WI-FI coverage throughout the property. We would happily recommend Tigh na Dalach for a family holiday in the highlands and islands.

PS the Isle of Raasay Distillery tour is excellent and worth the ferry trip from Sconser.

What a beautiful and spacious cottage in a most amazing location. Traditional yet comfortable and with literally all the equipment and conveniences we could ask for. Open fire, really great and adds to the ambiance. The sofas are just starting getting worn and losing their support and covers could perhaps do with a freshen up (as could the cushions), but really nothing that spoiled our experience. The shower needs some attention upstairs- the mechanism that holds the shower head is faulty so the head just drops completely or you have to have it pointing upright. Again nothing wrong just a bit inconvenient. Could have done with a small wardrobe somewhere upstairs. Other than these minor things we absolutely loved the cottage, charming, great condition, large, clean, romantic, wonderful waterside setting and we would have no hesitation in coming back again.. we’re already trying to work out when…

We may be a bit biased because the weather was fantastic while we were in Plockton but… this is a really super cottage which is well appointed and very comfortable. The area is beautiful - views up and down the loch from windows and garden are glorious. We enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming, not to mention lovely walks and wild coo spotting. Everything we planned to do in case of poor weather didn’t happen as we spent the whole time in the garden, chatting to the neighbours and enjoying the quiet. Walks were enjoyed and there were plenty of good (if pricey) places to eat out. Grab the prawn guys on the harbour to save money! We loved our week and totally believe it would have been great in a different way had the weather been different. Thank you!

Very comfortable cottage with a well equipped kitchen. We loved sitting in the garden to read and have tea and drink in the lovely views. We have stayed in Plockton 12 times over the last 20 years, bringing our children who are now grown up, and my elderly Father who loves Plockton, and was desperate to visit one last time. Bank Street is our favourite location, with beautiful views and peace and quiet, being a small distance away from busy Harbour Street. Plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. The only problem encountered is beyond the owners control. The owner of the property next door parked his three vehicles behind our cottage all week and they never moved. When asked if we could park our 1 car behind his property which had three free spaces all week he forbade it - saying he needs to keep all those spaces free in case he needed access to his garden and garage. He didn't seem to need any access during our stay which would require a vehicle to be moved. This was despite him being aware of the fact that we had our 93 year old Father with us and he has very limited mobility. This is the fist time we have encountered blatant hostility towards visitors in Scotland. We had to park some distance from the cottage which made it extremely difficult and was quite upsetting.

Thank you for your feedback and it is great to hear you enjoy Plockton and Tigh na Dalach. We are sorry to hear you have had such a negative experience with the neighbour. There are no designated spaces for the cottages in the car park, and therefore one has to take a space available without blocking driveways. This is usually possible, but it can be busy during the summer, particularly because many households have two cars. You can drive down to the cottage and unload, before finding a parking space. We hope you still had a lovely holiday and thank you again for the feedback.

Thanks for a super week in your super cottage. The location is second to none and the cottage a perfect size for 6 of us (parents and adult kids). The little study was lovely to escape to read etc. and the kitchen very well equipped with plenty of space to work and seating. The Wifi was excellent despite warnings it might not be ( although we didn’t need it ;) !) The master bed was really comfy although a couple of the single beds were extremely firm ( after a bit of ‘re jigging/ swapping’ the kids didn’t mind too much though). Thanks again.

We will surely return to the same cottage and to Plockton. Ideally placed for walking, was able to kayak in the sea, safe place to store my kayak and literally ten steps from jetty, and the cottage itself had a very interesting history Our holiday was very relaxing and we felt refreshed by the end of it.

Tigh na Dalach feels very much a family home. Cosy, warm and comfortable with a great family kitchen. Lovely views from the garden over the loch. The cottage contains everything you need for your holiday. The parking spaces behind the cottage seemed to be used by residents, but we managed to park nearby with no problem. This was our second time in this cottage and we would return again without hesitation. Plockton and the surrounding areas are unbeatable. If you want peace, quiet and space but the convenience of nearby pubs, takeaway etc it is perfect. The location is simply beautiful.

Wonderful cottage in an idyllic location. Quiet location off the beaten track but only a very short walk to the main part of Plockton and the shops, pubs and restaurants. Particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden by the loch in the evening sun.

We stayed for a week. Within 24hrs it felt like my home, I had even said how well my own antique clock would sit on the mantle over the sitting room fireplace. We had the cottage to ourselves for the first 2 nights, and lazed about doing nothing much, then our kids and grandkids started arriving in dribs and drabs throughout the week, with Tuesday afternoon everyone beihg there before one set left. There was enough rooms for all our family, and we brought air beds and sleeping bags just in case, but there were air beds and sleeping bags available to use in the cottage. Great being able to do laundry during the week, and since most us us went swimming in the loch, the tumble dryer was useful, as was the dishwasher with so many of us being there. The 8 seater kitchen table was perfect for and the kids to all be able to eat together at the same time. The cottage was immaculate, the facilities ideal, everything we could possibly have needed was there. The location is stunning, we picked here on Bank Street as we knew the location and knew it was well away from the road so safe for the kids. Sun in the front in the morning and afternoon and in the back in the evening. Drying green was well used, as were the picnic seats in the back garden, last night my Mum and I sat out there chatting till after 1am before we realised the time. No midges, yes, was a surprise to us too, but this year we haven't felt a single one.
Took the kids to Attadale gardens, there are 19 statues listed on the back of the map, and they used it as a treasure hunt to find them all. They loved it, as did the adults, well worth a visit. The boat trip is a bit pricey at £12 for adults and £6 for kids, but a nice hour on the loch on a good day.
The Hotel and Inn are both great to eat at, but yet again, I must recommend the Plockton Shores. Anne and Ian James have a beautiful restaurant with an amazing menu, the prices are remarkably reasonable considering the quality of the food. The feather blade of beef is to die for.
Lennice Townend rears Turkey, hens, quails and geese and sells the eggs along with fresh veg and homemade jams and chutneys at reasonable prices. The turkey eggs are a must have for breakfast as is the strawberry and apple jam on toast.
We are now home, it's raining and I'm miserable that our holiday is over. This year I got to hear all my grandchildren laughing and playing and had them together to read bedtime stories to. They didnt want to go home and neither did we. Thank you for an amazing holiday xxx

Our week in Plockton, though a bit rainy, was lovely. The home is well equipped and comfy. Booking process was easy and information provided beforehand was very helpful. It was a very busy week in the village and parking was a very slight problem one evening. It was so very pleasant to wake up and have coffee in the front garden!! Just a wonderful view.

Tigh na Dalach is a pretty cottage in a lovely, quiet location overlooking the loch, which has been attractively furnished and decorated. However, the furnishings are somewhat tired and the bedroom curtains quite inadequate for June nights in the north of Scotland. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, dishes etc but the cooker was very basic and the temperature guide on the oven difficult to decipher. There were only three dishwasher tablets for a whole week, the remains of a kitchen roll and the end of a bottle of washing up liquid. There was no welcoming note of any kind. The beds were adequate but by no means especially comfortable and there were details lacking which one might expect in a cottage in this price bracket: no waste-paper bin liners and no drawer liners, and a very minimal supply of toilet paper. Had this been a budget rental, the presentation of the cottage would have been more understandable but as it is at the top of the market, we felt our stay there had been a disappointing experience.

A stay at Tigh Na Dallach is very relaxing. Situated on the Loch-side it is a quiet location with a delightful little garden right on the Loch. The cottage has everything you could desire and is very warm and cosy. The Plockton Inn is nearby, as are the local stores and some good restaurants.

Fab week in a lovely cottage. Ideal location for visiting Skye and local area. Cottage is very comfortable, and has everything you need. Lovely and warm (which was good as the weather was a bit variable!). Easy walk to the local pubs and restaurant. We will be back!
