We booked the log cabin Hyggelig for a week to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary and were thoroughly impressed with the accommodation. Having stayed in many self-catering properties over the years, we can honestly say this is one of the best we have experienced, offering exceptional value for money. Although there are several properties on the site, each enjoys a wonderful sense of privacy and tranquillity. We chose to stay at Rivercatcher on a friends recommendation for my 50th birthday and it did not disappoint! The cabins were spotless with all the items you would need, and all with a luxury touch. The views from the cabin were spectacular, and as it was so hot, we happily spent an afternoon or 2 in the secluded garden making the most of the scenery, luxury garden furniture and the hot tub. There are loads of beautiful walks nearby and access to incredible beaches. The dog had a blast and appreciated the added extras for him too. I can't rate Rivercatcher highly enough.
We had a wonderful stay at Flyfisher Cottage. The cottage is set in a beautiful location, was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts really went above and beyond with the thoughtful extras included in the toddler package, which made such a difference travelling with three little ones! We would recommend Flyfisher Cottage and would love to return in the future.
We unfortunately were unable to stay because our father, for whom the trip was planned because seriously ill out of the blue a few weeks before and was still in hospital the weekend of (in fact he still is in hospital). Well over £2000 for 2 nights ia not something we took lightly, but it being his 60th we wanted to make it special. I understand that ypu have Ts and Cs, but some discretion to extenuating circumstances would not bankrupt the business st the price you charge. We had a fantastic holiday at Ghillie's Cottage, it was just what we wanted luxury, relaxation and to recharge, plus a delicious Welsh welcome basket. It was a perfect location for my husband to fish the River Dee, enclosed garden for our dog and the luxury of stepping into the hot tub each day. The grounds are beautifully maintained and there is a communal room with table tennis and a football table. We don't normally return somewhere twice but we both said we'd definitely return to Rivercatcher.
If it's beautiful surroundings, tranquility and comfort then Rivercatcher is for you. With the river within a short stroll away and an all glass sunroom to sit and look out for the kingfisher and kites (plus a rum and coke) you can loose yourself and clear your mind. Even in the cooler months I can imagine all irs beauty still. If you do feel like working up an appetite there are the berwick mountains close by for good walks. Perfection. X
What a fantastic lodge and location. The views were stunning. So peaceful and quiet. Bed and lounge area was very comfortable. Modern appliances, so clean and tidy, with a few extras from the hosts upon our arrival such as a welcome hamper. The hot tub was also amazing. We brought our dog who equally loved it! Secure garden so we didn't need to worry about him. The best lodge we have stayed in. Thank you
We have just returned from our 3rd stay at Rivercatcher, this time in Cwtch cabin. We love it here so much, it’s relaxation at its finest ! The grounds and location are gorgeous and so well looked after ! Particularly the riverside is beautiful, especially if you can catch a sunset. The lodges have a luxurious feel and are the best equipped we have ever found ! It’s also perfect for our dog. He’s a bit nervous but the garden and grounds here are perfect, he’s very relaxed and enjoys every minute !! Always lovely to see the staff, Andy & Aled, they make you feel so at home.
