Hyggelig (hoo-gah-lig) is our traditional Nordic style log cabin. Internal wood cladding making Hyggelig feel cosy and inviting.
A wood burning fire, faux fur throws, soft fabrics with a modern open feel. With a stylish soft feel hot tub to relax and unwind in, you feel miles away from the stress of everyday life. This was just a sublime visit. It far exceeded all our expectations and was simply perfect for us and the dogs.

This was our 11th visit to Rivercatcher but our first time in this cabin. The Log cabin has everything you could possibly need, there isn't anything they haven't thought of. Very clean and a lovely welcome basket with local produce in it, wonderful touch. Absolutely stunning, beautiful surroundings and scenery, very well maintained grounds.

If you have never been to Rivercatcher we highly recommend you do. The whole experience is first class, regardless of which of the properties you stay in. We keep trying new places but are always drawn back, Andy and the team do a fabulous job, they are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Aled is an absolute star and worth a mention on his own.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Rivercatcher. The weather was super hot and the walks and amenities in the area were superb. We got a couple of the food packs and the quality was great and the accommodation was 5 star. ⭐️ Very dog friendly with a lovely enclosed garden.

I booked this mini-break as a surprise birthday treat for my husband who loves fishing, he spent several glorious days in his new waders doing just that, the location was stunning and the cabin delightful- a real gem that we'd definitely pay a return visit to, the owner and grounds keepers were really charming as well.

This was our second visit to Rivercatcher, having first visited 2 years ago.

We love it because it is so doggy friendly and we don't have to worry about our Chocolate Labrador at all. We always stay in one of the cabins, which have completely enclosed lawned gardens, and are all on one level, so there are no stairs to worry about. Our dog has very bad arthritis in all his legs, so the cabin is perfect for him.

The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could want.

The bathroom is lovely, with a powerful and hot walk in shower.

The wi-fi connected easily, without the need for passwords, etc. It did drop off one evening, but the team were very quick in getting it reconnected for us by first thing the following morning.

The TV is very easy to use with a whole host of channels and streaming services available for those rainy days.

There is a hairdryer provided, but it is quite small, so if you have unruly or very long, thick hair, you may find it easier to bring your own.

There are no drawers for clothes, only a couple of shelves within the wardrobe and we only had 4 hangers, so if you have a lot of things to hang up, perhaps bring a few more with you. The team may be able to provide more if needed - we just put more than one item on each hanger.

The rural location is what makes Rivercatcher so special, but be aware there are no supermarkets, etc nearby. The local Spar shop only stocks very basic things. The nearest supermarket is an Aldi which is in Llangollan about 10 miles away. There are also supermarkets in Wrexham. We booked an online Tesco shop, which arrived a couple of hours before we checked in. The Team will very kindly receive the order and put it all away for you, for a small extra charge. So there was a lovely cold bottle of Prosecco waiting for us when we arrived - perfect!

There is a lovely walk down by the river that you can go down to, as well as a beautiful communal summer house, where we spent a few hours, just admiring the views and talking about nothing in particular.

The Private hot tub is just fab! It's always spotlessly clean, as it's inspected every day, without fail and we looked forward to a lovely relaxing soak every evening after a busy day sightseeing.

We have come back from our latest visit to Rivercatcher completely recharged and relaxed - it really is a lovely place to spend a holiday, and Andy and his Team are just fab.

We look forward to returning again soon.

We typically are not people who return to places but this was our 7th visit to RiverCatcher.
Firstly, the views, particularly from the lodges, I could never tire of. It’s so restorative and relaxing, especially from the hot tub!
The lodge itself is well equipped inside and out with high standard fixtures and fittings. I really love the shower! A great BBQ which we used pretty much everyday.
The site is great - there’s a walk down to the river and a lodge/games area. It’s super for dogs with areas for them to be washed, enclosed gardens and space to run by the river.
It’s a special place - we can’t wait to return!

My stay at Rivercatcher this time was even more relaxing than the last earlier this year.
Andy and all the staff without exception are dedicated to providing and delivering a truly memorable holiday experience which they did.
I found such peace and tranquility but also the opportunity to have more diverse experiences and explore further afield whenever I chose to .
I have booked for another 3 stays at Rivercatcher and I know for certain they will all hold special memories as the 3 wonderful breaks I've had so far. Thank you so much.

Our 2nd visit to Rivercatcher…stayed in a lodge this time and it was absolutely lovely.
The welcome basket when we arrived to the hot tub bubbling it was perfect peace. Great enclosed garden for our dog Charlie and he loved by the river. Be back for our 3rd visit soon

Lovely, relaxing break at Rivercatcher. Beautiful scenery. The cabin is very clean and well equipped and very warm and cosy. Sitting in the hot tub at night listening to the owls hooting was perfect. We had a great time and can't wait to return.

Second visit to Rivercatcher, Shepherds Cottage first time, Cabin this time for something new.

Can’t fault the luxury label, was a lovely venue and cabin.

Was able to add the dog at short notice and with our little boy being an escape artist Andy took extra measures to make sure he stayed secure and safe which was above and beyond service.

Will continue to return for our UK holiday.

A mention also to the friendly and helpful maintenance crew who were a pleasure to see and speak to throughout our stay, particularly making fuss of the dog.

We are repeat visitors to RiverCatcher, not just this lodge, and it is the only place that we return to.
The setting is lovely and I think the views from Hyggelig are some of the best. The lodges and cottages are of a high quality and organised to have all that you need. The hot tubs and BBQs are both delightful!
It’s an amazing place in a beautiful part of Wales.

This was our second visit to Rivercatcher. We had wondered if our experience this time would match the one we had last year. We didn’t need to worry. The lodge was very comfortable and cozy, and equipped with everything we needed. Our evening strolls around the grounds were the perfect end to the day. Not to mention the hot tub! To wake up each morning to sheep and lambs in the field, to birdsong on the air, and to visits from robins and other tiny birds, was a delight that never jaded.. Rivercatcher is also well placed for day trips; it’s just an hour from Harlech, Conwy, Powys, Bodnant. All spectacular venues; and the countryside we passed through on our way every day was stunning.

All our contacts with the staff were not just friendly and polite; they all gave us the feeling that we were welcome and highly valued guests. And as for our daily chats with Aled or George, they became an integral part of our holiday.

We can thoroughly recommend Rivercatcher to anyone looking for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

This is my third time I have stayed and have to say everything is just perfect. It was our first time at river catchers and we stayed in hyggleig log cabin. The cabin was absolutely lovely. It had everything you needed and of good quality. The hot tub was a luxury and so relaxing after a day of sight seeing. It was such a peaceful and tranquil place to stay and we can’t wait to go back again.

We had a very relaxing stay at the river catcher. The location and cabin is perfect.
The dogs were very welcomed.
The set up of the cabins and area is very well thought out. We wanted for nothing during our stay.
Only 1 positive criticisms if you have a small dog like ours, the secure garden wasn’t adequate to keep them in with the sheep fencing and took it upon himself to help round up the sheep for the farmer
I’d definitely recommend and look forward to visiting in the near future.

The view is amazing. The property has everything you need and is very clean. With the added bonus of a hot tub. Very dog safe garden he loved it. Brilliant place for a totally chill out weekend would highly recommend this property.

This was our second visit to the rivercatcher, I loved our stay. We went for a kid free chilled out weekend and that’s exactly what we got in the comfort of the log cabin. We previously stayed in the ghilles cottage which I did prefer. Although I preferred the views from the log cabin and the open plan, where the views out of the cottage are more for the summer when you can sit outside.
The log cabin could do with a bit of maintenance, nothing major, just the seal around the bathroom floor looks a bit grubby and the wood work on the door frame looks a mess with white marks. Towels and dressing gowns could be a bit softer in my opinion just to get the 5* experience that I feel you pay for.

Overall we loved our stay and would always come back.

What an incredible place to stay. I booked this for my partners birthday weekend and I have to say it was even better than I expected. If the stunning lodge where you can wake up and watch the sun rise from your bed over the beautiful scenic landscape wasn’t enough, there are incredible local walks, a hot tub to relax in and watch the stars, all the amenities you could possible need. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. The location is incredible and the staff are welcoming and helpful. It was bliss and worth every penny. I’ll certainly be booking here again.

This was our sixth visit to Rivercatcher, and we are never disappointed. We love knowing that we can rely on the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation and surroundings, and that we will have everything that we need for another perfect break.

Just back from a stunning pre-Christmas break in this warm, well appointed, well equipped and luxury cabin. Looking at the beautiful snowy Welsh hills from the hot tub and warming ourselves infront of the open fire was the most relaxing ‘hygge’ escape. We visited River Catcher in Aug 22 with high expectations which were not only met but surpassed.
The location is fantastic, right on the River Dee and the views, especially in the Lodges were simply breath taking.
The new hot tubes are excellent and the lodge accommodation was very nicely laid out and had nothing missing in equipment terms.
The bed being part of the whole open plan set up could have been problematic as I get up much earlier than Julie, but was never really an issue because of the sound construction of the lodge (no creeping floors or doors).
Could have done with a little more draw space as we were there for a week, difficult to see where it would fit, perhaps some shelving in the wardrobe, but I’m being picky.
Really enjoyed the River, very clean and shallow enough to swim in safely.
One small gripe, maybe a warning about sheep getting in the grounds, let my dog off by the river only to realise sheep had got on to the grounds from a neighbouring field, luckily he’s really good with sheep so soon got it under control, but could have been nasty if it had happened to a more aggressive dog.
Other than that not a single complaint enjoyed it so much didn’t want to come home.
Highly recommend a visit to Rhiwagor waterfalls, beautiful.
Final mention for Aled the grounds man, very friendly and informative.

What a lovely beautiful relaxing peaceful retreat from the humdrum of life. The location is perfect, and ideal for exploring the beautiful countryside and towns of North Wales. The views from the log cabin are spectacular; and all you can hear are the birds and the sheep in the nearby fields. The facilities are excellent and well thought out. We began each day with a mug of coffee on the decking outside our cabin, taking in the clean fresh air and watching the wildlife. What’s not to like. We would go back in a heartbeat, and we plan to return just as soon as we can. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

The log cabin was absolutely beautiful. All of the furnishings felt very luxurious and attention to detail was great. It had everything you need and more for a perfect holiday!

Scenery was stunning and it was incredible peaceful. I can imagine it would be beautiful in any season. We will absolutely be booking again.

Spring is a wonderful time of year to stay at Rivercatcher. Waking up to the dawn chorus & the sun rising through the windows is magical. A hot tub whilst the sun setting & watching the lambs. Taking a drink to the Sun Inn after dark looking for the owl that you can hear in the trees behind the cabin. The log cabin has everything we needed for a luxury week away. Everything about Rivercatcher is 5*.

I have stayed at Rivercatcher a few times now and it never fails to impress me. The chalets are beautiful and always immaculate with the delightful added thoughtful touch of the welcome hamper. The views are spectacular and sitting in the hot tub overlooking the stunning Welsh countryside is the best experience in the world. Then there’s the lovely , helpful Aled who has s always there if you need anything and nothing is too much trouble. I love it and will definitely be back.

Great location and fabulous views from the cabin. Some walks direct from the door but a car ride required for greater choice.
Cabin well equipped with everything you need but bath sheets would be an added bonus rather than smaller bath towels.
A soak in the hot tub after a full day is just what the doctor ordered!

We stayed in a log cabin which was perfect in every way. Clean, cosy, well equipped and private. The location is excellent for exploring Wales with nothing too far away.

The amenities on site are brilliant for families with children and dogs, they’ve though of everything from a dog wash station equipped with shampoo and towels to a lovely games room with table tennis and table top football.

There was a lovely hamper on our arrival and Andy and the team were so friendly and helpful. We’re going back later in the year.

It’s one of the few places I’ve felt immediately at home as soon as I stepped inside.

Loved the wood burning stove and the hot tub.
Well equipped kitchen, lovely welcome pack.
Liked the pre visit information that told you exactly what items - food/toiletries - were included.

Just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay in our log cabin Hyggelig. Spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you need together with quality furnishing. Loved the Norwegian theme, it was just beautiful. The cabins are set in lovely countryside, a relaxing setting. The hot tub was a welcome addition. All outside furniture of quality too.

Communications prior to arrival and even the email received the day after hoping you had a good first nights stay shows excellent customer service.

We loved meeting Teddy, a 3 month old cavapoo, on his first day of work, gorgeous!

This is our 5th stay at Rivercatcher, and it gets better every time. The accommodation is of a high quality with everything that we need (ample supply of tea towels, super shower, great wood burner, comfy bed etc) and the surroundings stunningly beautiful, at any time of the year. The hot tub is lovely on a starry night, and always clean and well maintained, as are the immaculate cabin/cottage and grounds. We feel welcomed back every time we return, including our 2 dogs, and cannot wait to book our next visit!

We had such an amazing time at River Catcher and we will definitely return. The cabin was lovely, surrounded by beautiful views, and everything was so well thought out. It felt like a home from home. We finally visited in September 2021 after our original visit in October 2020 had to be cancelled due to the second lockdown. We were very impressed then how efficiently Andy dealt with this and the speed in which our money was refunded.

The complex is very easy to find and is in a very quiet spot in the middle of the countryside. We had been given entry instructions and key code, etc in plenty of time before our arrival. Our cabin was spotlessly clean. There is enough crockery, cutlery, etc, but if you need anything extra, etc, there is a little note that says you just have to ask. The shower was amazing and, unusually, very easy to use! The wi-fi connected automatically and the signal was never lost. The lovely bed was very comfy and had a light but warm duvet on it. There is a hair dryer, but it is quite small, so if you have either thick or long hair, it may be sensible to bring your own. There is a large island in the kitchen area which has two stools to enable you to sit round it and eat, but we found this a bit uncomfortable, and so ate outside on the decking where there is a chairs and table set. Outside, there are also two lovely wicker chairs which have cushions and foot stools which were lovely to relax in at the end of the day. The hot tub was also fabulous and looked after very carefully. It was checked every morning which we found very reassuring.

The cabin we stayed in was next door to the office cabin and so we didn't have any immediate neighbours, but to be honest, even though there were guests in all the other cabins, it was very quiet. The garden for the property was very spacious and ideal for our dog to run around in.

There are also other facilities available, ie a laundry room and a games room, but we didn't use either of these.

If I could give future guests any tips, it would be to make sure you either have an online delivery booked with a supermarket for your day of arrival or bring food with you. There are two very small local shops within 3 miles of the complex, but they were very sparsely filled when we visited both and, sadly, very expensive. There is a large Aldi in the next village along (which we didn't discover until two days before we left!) and on the way to this, you will pass a Nisa Local. The nearest Tesco is in Ruthin which is about 30 minutes drive away. There is also an Organic Farm Shop which is amazing, but as you would expect, very expensive indeed.

We spent a lovely week exploring North Wales, but didn't see everything by any means. After a long day out and about, it was lovely to come back to our cabin, sink into the hot tub and relax. We were very impressed by everything at Rivercatcher and were looked after brilliantly from our first enquiry. We are very much looking forward to returning again next year.

We were blown away by our stay at river catcher, we stayed in the Hyggelig cabin and it was perfect, so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was fantastic and such wonderful views. The cabins are so clean, modern and beautifully decorated. The welcome basket was so thoughtful and the kitchen is fully kitted out with everything you'd need.

Cosy, clean and comfortable. Although not huge, very well thought out, so that all our needs were conveniently catered for. Worked perfectly for the 2 of us and a medium sized dog. The dog loved the river, and the dog wash area was a lovely convenience with shampoo and towels provided. Very relaxing week. We enjoyed some spectacular walks in the surrounding area, getting to experience waterfalls, lakes, mountains, rivers and amazing scenery.

Hyggelig was supremely comfortable and well provided for. All of the hamper ingredients were top class and the cabin was beautifully proportioned with gorgeous views across the Welsh countryside.
Watching the wildlife and stars from our hot tub, or just the steamer chairs, was a real privilege.
The one downside is that the complex is an hour's drive from any coastal attractions but we were aware of this when we booked. Even so it is a lovely peaceful place to completely unwind.

This was our second time staying in this cabin - we are not typically people who rebook the same place but it’s one of those places where you feel instantly relaxed. The whole of the Rivercatcher complex is really well laid out - all the cottages and lodges have privacy and the standards of all equipment (such as the BBQ, the bedding, the kitchen knives etc.) are all great quality. They have good systems in place regarding COVID and ensuring the place is well-cleaned. There is also all the equipment to clean yourselves for reassurance. Finally, I should just mention THE VIEW! So incredible and mesmerising.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rivercatcher. We rarely have UK holidays and spend most of our time overseas. As that was not an option we set about trying to find somewhere special to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This is definitely the place! We were gobsmacked by the setting, the warm and cosy log cabin and the delights of watching the Spring lambs and the birdy visits to our garden. We had a complimentary basket of treats on arrival and arranged a Sainsburys delivery to ensure we had all we would need for a few days in Wales. Although the weather was unseasonably chilly we were able to make good use of the log burner and hot tub in equal measure! We were also blessed with sunshine and rainbows and there is no better place to be than outside in the private garden overlooking the fields and hills with a wonderful uninterrupted view.
The log cabin was private, well maintained with almost everything you could need. All the fittings, linens and equipment was of a high standard and overall we were very impressed. The only thing we can think of that would have made our stay more comfortable would be kitchen stools more suited to smaller legs. We could barely perch on them and took to standing to eat which made for slightly uncomfortable meal times. We ventured outside when we could to eat around the comfortable table and chairs but as we had quite a bit of rain we couldn’t do so all the time. Overall we we would rate our stay as wonderful and a real treat. We would definitely return, we only feel we scratched the surface of the surrounding area and Snowdonia National Park. There is still much more to see. We are delighted for the owners that they are fully booked up until November but we will keep a beady eye out for any cancellations!

Immaculate, highly attractive log cabins in beautifully kept grounds. I knew from the moment we spotted the signpost to Rivercatcher and left the main road that we were in for a treat. The single lane leading up to the cabins was bejewelled with daffodils. Even the car park is lovely with plenty of room for all guests. Our Hyggelig log cabin was warm and welcoming upon entering with lots of thoughtful touches. The shower was amazing. The whistling kettle charming. The large, modern TV with Netflix and the hot tub were a real treat as we didn't want to venture far but there is so much to do in the area when Covid restrictions fully lift. The views were absolutely stunning, really took our breath away and we were lucky to see lots of lambs too in the neighbouring fields. All the cabins were very private with tasteful willow screening so that we rarely so other guests but the place felt safe and secure with help to hand if needed. The extra hampers we ordered were delicious; it was so nice to sample local produce. A truly memorable holiday in a place that is clearly well loved and looked after by its friendly staff and owners. Thank you, we hope to return.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Rivercatcher in one of their log cabins-Hyggelig.
What a place! The cabins and everything in and around them are beautiful and really high spec. It is full of everything you could need for your stay. Delicious welcome food pack...all locally sourced products. White Company toiletries. One of the comfiest beds I've slept on!
Sitting out on the deck you have views of the beautiful Welsh hills. Its so peaceful...the silence really is deafening.
We cannot recommend the place highly enough and will definitely be going back.
It also happens to be a 15min walk from an amazing place to eat. Its pricey but worth every penny...Tyddyn Llan ❤. Make sure you book we'll in advance!!

We stayed for the weekend in the lodge starting Friday 20th March, a beautiful lodge set in tranquil surroundings, everything was perfect, from the lodge amenities to the very nice welcome pack. Our stay was just before the UK went into lockdown mode so the majority of what we had planned had to be cancelled hopefully we can come back on another occasion to fully take advantage of the gorgeous surroundings. This was our second visit to the hyggelig. We find the cabins are always so clean, the grounds man is always really friendly and helpful if you need anything. It’s in a quiet location which is perfect when wanting to sit in the hot tub. However you can drive out to so many places and go see waterfalls, castles, snowdon or go for food. To me it’s the perfect place to stay and I would return for a third visit as I love it.

For a little getaway in the UK, the Hyggelig log cabin was the perfect destination for a short break. The log cabin looked as described on Rivercatcher’s website and certainly didn’t disappoint. Had a wonderful time at the log cabin at Rivercatcher. The scenery from the cabin was beautiful.
The welcome basket was very scummy!
The cabin itself was beautiful. Decor was gorgeous.
Only negatives are is was rather hot inside, despite the ceiling fan. The tall glass windows, although lovely to look out of, it's a shame there was no way of opening any of these.
Also, not sure if a wasp nest had just been removed but there were numerous, about 15-20 dead and dying wasps. We did not report this as they seemed to come in one area only and did not cause us a problem. But I guess other people would be unhappy.
But overall a really pleasent stay, hot tub was super to relax in during the evening, and dining on the decking with the views was idyllic.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! The cabin was one of the best places we have stayed and was by far the most peaceful place I've ever stayed with the most incredible veiws! The hosts were extremely helpful and gave all the info needed and have thought about everything right down to the smallest details. We will defiantly be returning to stay here again soon!

Beautiful place both lodge and location wonderful views .. .. Although the lodge was top quality I was pleased my dog was made welcome . Which isn't always the case
Hot tub was great .

My boyfriend, myself and our poochie visited at the end of March. We had the best time, pure relaxation and serenity. If you are looking for somewhere to de-stress and unwind, look no further. Lodge had everything you could possibly need, finished to a high standard and very beautiful. Surrounding area was perfectly picturesque. Lovely pub that is walkable. It is very hard to find pet friendly properties that are such a high standard. Our dog Dolly had the best time as the garden is enclosed, there was also a lovely welcome pack for her. Andy, the owner made us very welcome. We will be returning very soon. Really special place ❤️

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Everything inside and outside the cabin furnished to a really high spec which made the stay much more comfortable. There is a secure bike shed which we used and somewhere to wash the bikes down when you get back. Nice games room too which kept us entertained for a couple of hours!

Very well equipped, the cabin was amazing. Such a fantastic build and finish, the heating is very effective, we was able to cook a roast in the kitchen. Everything you need, great water pressure in the shower. Comfy seats, sofa and bed. Nice views, toasty hot tub. The site was very clean. Staff are friendly. There was no downside to our visit other then we had to leave. Would be happy to visit again.

This is our third visit to Rivercatcher and our first in one of the lodges. Every visit has been wonderful - the quality of the accommodation, the setting and the peace and quiet.
We have particularly enjoyed staying in the lodge - it was warm and cosy and very romantic. We started each morning watching the sunrise from our hot tub, then a day walking locally or reading in front of the wood burner before sunset and star gazing, again from the hot tub! Just perfect!

A truely amazing place in a beautiful location - could not say enough great things about this holiday.
It really exceeded all our expectations and the little touches like the welcome basket and the fresh local produce were gorgeous.
The dog wash station complete with complementary towels for Paddy was a very nice touch too.

When we arrived at Rivercatcher we were immediately blown away by the stunning location and the fabulous accommodation. The quality of the log cabin, and the high quality internal and external furnishings were amazing, and the size was perfect for us - roomy yet cozy. Inside a we were greeted with a real log fire, comfortable sofa and bed, well equipped kitchen, and spacious shower. Outside a fantastic spa, table and chairs, and gas barbecue, with amble garden space. The welcome basket was a really nice touch, and the local milk, butter, bread and jam were delicious. There was a really helpful 'guide' giving Ideas of where to eat - we took full advantage of the advice that the local store sold home cooked Thai food (really tasty it was too).

We had such an amazing, comfortable and relaxing weekend we didn't want to leave, and will definitely be back soon.

We arrived about 5 pm with our 4 digit number emailed to us previously and were able to get in the lodge straight away. It was very spacious and clean. Our welcome pack of tea, coffee, local biscuits, bread, milk, jam were very nice indeed.
The folder and guest book provided us with some good information, although we had done some investigation on the area and had an idea what we wanted to do.
The local shop has the essentials and also makes some fantastic Thai food, this can be ordered fresh or they also had some frozen in the freezer. After a change of plan one day we opted for the frozen at the last minute and it was really tasty, a must if you like Thai food, which we do
The local pub, The Dudley Arms was also just a 10 min walk away and the landlord and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, food and drink were both excellent and even when busy nothing was too much trouble, also a visit to the nearby Bryntirion Inn serves a great meal.
The area of North Wales has lots to offer, we visited Bala, Portmerion, Porthmadog, Nefyn, (look up the Ty Coch Inn) Llandudno, Corwen, Llangollen and went to the top of Snowdonia on a train! We could have done so much more but a week is not long enough
You may think that we were never in the lodge but we spent most mornings chilling,I also took my fishing gear and made up the rod on arrival and it was great just to pop down for a cast anytime, don’t ask what I caught the fish are still all there
We ended every night under the stars in the hot tub which lead to us both sleeping like lambs. Aled ensured our hot tub was topped up each day and was also up for a friendly chat as he went about his duties.
A wonderful place so spend some time either chilling, checking out North Wales or a bit of both.

To start off with it was a complete no hassle arrival. Pregiven the code so just arrived as we pleased. The log cabin was so beautiful and well kitted out.. the views were totally sensational.. the grounds were also immaculate. The hot tub was my personal favourite sitting and watching the sunset was out of this world... will definitely be back... perfect winter setting

The Hyggelig log cabin has everything you could ever want! I was seriously disappointed I could not holiday oversees this summer and I booked Rivercatcher for my 8th anniversary. Me and my partner were taken back as soon as we pulled into the car park. Everything was so clean and well maintained and the cabin itself is 5 star. Waking up every morning to the view of the hills was amazing and then star gazing at night whilst relaxing in the hot tub was the cherry on the cake. The focus on privacy was very apparent and I will be re-visiting Rivercatcher in the near future. BOOK THIS CABIN! You will not be disappointed..

We were the first to stay at Hyggelig and it had everything we needed and more. If you are seeking a tranquil countryside retreat, this place can deliver that in bucket loads. From the spring lambs, daffodils and scenery to the fit out of the cabin. The hot tub and bbq we’re exactly what we needed after climbing Snowdon! Had we have known it was only marginally more to book for 7 nights instead of 3 would would have definitely stayed for longer.
