Perfect venue in every way. On Friday all the ladies gathered for drinks and nibbles.- plenty of space for indoor entertaining. So beautiful for our wedding day - an intimate and compact venue. On the Sunday we entertained approx 30 - 40 guests - the terrace was just perfect and the sun shone down. Such an idyllic setting. We even saw a sheep giving birth on the hillside opposite - such stunning scenery. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners/hosts. It cerrtainly met all of our expectations.
We had a lovely stay at Blakey House - the cottage was lovely, very well equipped and there was lots of room. The bedrooms were particularly luxurious, with lots of space. Lovely views from the back and very conveniently located near to the barn. Slight issue that it wasn't ready at 3pm however we didn't have long to wait. Would have been handy to have hooks in the front porch for coats.
Lovely location, quiet walks and wonderful hosts. Had everything we needed to enjoy our sober weekend together!
Great find and excellent quality accommodation in beautiful surroundings. Perfect location for local attractions (coast, national trust, fishing and countryside walks). Professional, friendly staff with a personal touch. Can wholeheartedly recommend this property.
Beautiful location and we were lucky enough to be the only ones staying so had the whole site to ourselves. The cottage was ideal for our purposes and a lovely welcome pack for ourselves and our dog! Thank you. However, so very disappointed with the fishing aspect. We had come specifically so my husband could spend half days fishing but there were no fishing spots identified with the river running in front of the cottage. He had to clamber down a very steep bank. When he got there he quickly realised there were no fish in the river. The next day we received a text explaining where...more
The cottage was excellent and we couldn't fault it. A shame the priory was closed. Overall we would come back for a short break.
