I picked the Stoep as a real treat for my birthday and it did not disappoint; we bumped into Hugh when we arrived which we appreciated, he made us feel very welcome, and the moment we walked into the Stoep I felt the warmth and peace of the place. Everything was pristine, really well-thought out. We settled in immediately and relished the next few days ahead of us. The bird feeders were full of peanuts and I sat in bed each morning with my binoculars and a cup of tea watching blue tits, great tits, nutchatch, blackbirds and woodpeckers. We ate lots of delicious meals and enjoyed glasses of red wine by the log-burner. It was a wonderful stay and we really would love to come back one day, thank you!

A unique place to relax and enjoy nature, walk on the coast and visit historical sites .
We have enjoyed watching many kinds of birds outside our porch whilst eating our breakfast. We have marvelled at the quality of the craftsmanship in the construction of our accommodation. We have felt at peace here.

I was the lucky one that stoep was available 1 week before arrival. We enjoyed every single moment.

Stoep cabin's layout and design are well thoughts. For example, it has everything you need (even a make up mirror) but you still feel there is sufficient space. It's really tidy and organise cabin make you feel like home. You don't need a sunny day to get sufficient nature light as the light from the roof makes the day. The surrounding is green and quiet which is a great choice to escape from city life.

Hugh & Jude are lovely couple and hosts who offers great farm eggs. I am glad that I have found it. Moreover, I am grateful to have met Hugh & Jude.

We stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. The location is beautiful, very peaceful and private. The Stoep is kitted out with everything you could need to be self catering and has very comfortable sofa, chairs and bed. The host met us on arrival and live on site, they made themselves available in case we needed anything during our stay. We had a wonderful stay and will be returning!

Thank you for a beautiful relaxing weekend at the Stoop. We visited the 2 bed house last year and loved it so much, we wanted to return. We decided to check out The Stoop and we were not disappointed.
Such beautiful space, Lovely and warm, didn’t even light the fire as we expected. So quite. I sat on the porch one morning listening to the birds, meditated, and did some yoga. Totally excluded, nobody else about.
I must say I missed the hens and cockerels coming to visit. Maybe something to do with having to be In because of bird flu.
Definitely want to return.

For the second time this year, we have enjoyed another perfect break at Wildernest. In June we stayed in Cuddfan, and this time we were in the Stoep..
Everything about it was ideal - a tranquil location; the Stoep is a beautifully constructed and designed tiny house. The attention to detail in the interior is amazing - it was warm and cosy (so much in fact, that we didn't even need to use the wood burner). When you stay there it feels like you are within a proper nature reserve. All you can hear is birdsong and cows.
As before, we had a home-cooked meal from Jude on arrival, which is a real treat - delicious!
Again we felt re-energised, rested and didn't want to leave... Shame we have to return to the real world.
Many thanks to Hugh & Jude for all their hard work - they are an inspiration.

I think the fact this is my 3rd stay in as many years speaks volumes about everything, very sad to be leaving but will be back very soon.

A wonderfully peaceful break at this little slice of heaven…. We went from stressed city people to calm soothed souls in just a few hours… the stoep is beautifully designed for comfort and rest amid a beautiful landscape surrounded with birdsong - cannot recommend highly enough!

We loved our stay in this cosy log cabin which has been decorated to perfection. The views out towards the woods and the hills were stunning and it felt like we were outside, even when we were indoors! Hugh and Jude were great hosts and provided us with everything we needed to cook our fresh mackerel from Aberaeron on the open fire pit right outside the cabin. Highly recommend!

Wonderful few days at The Stoep. I’ve stayed at Wildernest before, but this was my first time at The Stoep and it certainly did not disappoint!
The expansive glass front made me feel I was outside, yet I was warm and cosy, enjoying the comfort of a dwelling thoughtfully designed with an eye for detail.
Hosts Hugh and Jude were welcoming while still adhering to COVID regulations.
The extensive meadows and woods at Wildernest are home to a host of birds and wildlife...the whole experience is a delight.
I would have liked to stay for longer, but I’ll be back!

Wildernest is a beautiful secluded sheltered spot. Run by great hosts Hugh & Jude, lovely couple with great local knowledge on brilliant walks.

The Stoep is a fantastic place to unwind, rest and enjoy the bird song. I stayed for three nights all though felt that wasn’t enough time. Wished I stayed for more :) as you wouldn’t want to leave the well equipped hay cabin.

Wildernest is set in a great location close to the beaches and all the see side activities along the Ceredigion coast.

Having stayed in The Stoep at Wildernest last October, and had a peaceful and relaxing time, we knew what to expect and, I'm pleased to say, were not disappointed. I'm not one for writing fulsome reviews on anything, I'm afraid, but just to say that my wife and I (and her sister who came with us this time) thoroughly enjoyed our few days break, watching the bird life, knitting (not me) and supporting the local economy. No TV can be a real blessing for those of us with little self control (although we caught up with Line of Duty as soon as we got in the door back home) but there is good wi-fi to keep up with the world if you feel the need. Hugh and Jude are very friendly and gracious hosts, and we look forward to returning to Wildernest in the not too distant future.

We wanted a place where we could unwind. Forget the city, work, and life's general fast pace. Wildernest delivered in abundance. The design and fabric of Stoep itself help you settle into a different life for those few days. Wood and simplicity with the important things still laid on, such a great shower and comfy bed. The glass front and verandah mean that you make the most of the spectacular view; fields and trees and the odd farmhouse in the distance.
We made the most of the surrounding area, taking in beaches and the local National Trust. And settled in the evening in front of the wood burner, after a glass of wine by the firepit.
Perfect! Highly recommended.

We were awed by the love & attention that had clearly gone into this place. Beautifully crafted, such care & thought for the environment... And for visitors! It's gorgeous to look at, cosy & warm & all the little details are a joy... Everything you need for a cosy fire, even down to the eco friendly firelighters... Binoculars & a torch were a lovely little touch too. Kitchen was fabulously kitted out & the bed was super comfy. Sitting on the stoep in the evenings listening to nature & staring at the sky was absolutely perfect. The stillness & closeness to nature was so healing. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful too!

Thoroughly enjoyed our mini break in The Stoep at Wildernest. We wanted somewhere out of the way, to recharge our batteries, that was quiet and in the countryside, and Wildernest fit the bill. Our hosts were there if we needed them and The Stoep was fully equipped for a comfortable stay for two. We will most definitely look to return.

A delightful short break, I loved the peace and tranquility and the feeling of being embedded in natural world. The Stoep was warm and comfortable and had everything that I needed. Being a straw bale and larch building it had a special quality which is hard to describe. It’s very special to be able to have your morning tea in bed and watch the dawn break, after some very good night’s sleep!. I used the time as a solitary retreat and it was perfect for that. Thank you!

Perfect place for a quiet rural get away. The Stoep is a well designed, environmentally friendly cabin with all comforts, overlooking hay meadows. Ticks many boxes for sustainable tourism. Walks along the Cardigan Bay coastline and little towns of New Quay and Aberaeron are within few minutes drive.
