The Farmhouse is a beautiful house in probably, for me, the best location in the Lake District. Eskdale is an overlooked valley as it can be a little harder to access. But that makes the valley and its surroundings less spoilt and less populated, which for me is a huge plus. And the whole Bridgeend Farm collection of holiday cottages (I've stayed in 2 of their properties now) are just perfect. They're extremely well appointed and looked after making the entire stay really comfortable and effortless. We had a wonderful family holiday staying at La Grange - my parents, and our family of four (two children 6 and under). The house (and the site in general) is beautiful, well maintained and well equipped, and the surrounding countryside is absolutely idyllic. We enjoyed cycling along the river and the kids loved the pool and exploring the enormous garden! We found our way to lots of local attractions through the very helpful guestbook, such as the markets and a medieval living history museum, and the wonderfully varied beaches of South Brittany were easily accessible for a day trip. Booking process was fairly straight forward and so was checkin. Cottage is kept very well and we enjoyed our stay a lot. Has got beautiful walks around which we made the most of.
The cottage was perfect for our family of 5, clean, spacious and with everything we needed. We enjoyed the games found in the kitchen cupboard and had nightly games nights around the table. The gardens were stunning! And drifting off to sleep to the sounds of the water was pure bliss. The car park layout worked perfectly, after reading reviews this was a worry for us as we have a big Land Cruiser, but actually it worked great and there was still plenty of space either side of us. Ideal cottage for a week walking. Lovely outdoor grounds. Very helpful information guide provide. Well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Laundry room useful if needed. Parking a bit tight but adequate.
A lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful rural setting, everything you would need provided in cottage, spotlessly clean, lovely walled garden with garden furniture available if weather fine. Short walk to The Boot Inn which I would highly recommend, staff very friendly and food delicious, dog friendly too.

We had a lovely fortnight here. Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful. Plenty of space to accommodate guests in four cottages in the grounds. Good pool. Enjoyed bike hire and cycling along the river. Great communication for owner who was also very helpful in assisting us when we needed it.
