The Tower Rooms, formerly the Turret flat, has been fully refurbished and reintroduced as a unique self catering apartment within the castle.
The tower is accessed via the main stairs of the Castle and comprises 2 bedrooms, one with superkingsize bed and one with a double bed.

We stayed in the Tower Apartment, which was huge. We really appreciated the kitchen, the huge rooms, the washer/dryer, and the absolutely stunning grounds. We walked everywhere - two trails access the dramatic coast - and saw rainbows over the ocean, and of course lots of sheep and coos. The nearby cafe is lovely. There was someone to greet us and give us keys. A very unique and worthwhile destination!

What can we say! Brilliant. Real castle, luxury accommodation, fantastic bath, robes, quiet, lovely owners, excellent service from Pam, history, walks, whisky, close to Tobermory……check your ferry bookings in advance (more than 1 month before) to be safe. Can’t wait to return to spend more than on Mull next time than we did on Skye.

Our stay in the Glengorm Castle Tower rooms was a true historical paradise.
We felt like royalty in the luxurious bedroom with amazing views of the landscape.

A feel of adventure as we climbed tower stairs to welcoming parlor rooms.

Kitchen was well equipped.
Trails and vistas abound.

Would love to come back for a longer stay.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful lodging!

We were 4 people for 5 days in the Tower Rooms. Our stay was just fantastic. The rooms are generously sized and equipped with everything you need. The views from the rooms over the sea is just gigantic. We will definitely be back! Many thanks to the Nelson family!

My friend and I wrapped up 2 weeks in Scotland on the Isle of Mull at Glengorm Castle because it was my friend’s dream to stay in a castle. I thought the logistics were a little daunting for a one night stay and so I was skeptical that it would be worth the effort but our stay exceeded our expectations. We did not have a car so we did need to arrange a cab in advance to get us at the ferry and to take us back the next day and to go to and from dinner but we could have grabbed food in the store near the castle and cooked. We used Chris’s car service and he was excellent. The rooms were delightful. I loved the large bathtub with a few. We walked out to standing stones. Amazing.

Outstanding accommodation on Mull, totally excessive for only two of us with more rooms than you could ever hope to enjoy but the views from the top of the tower were to die for and we were very lucky with the weather.

We really enjoyed our stay at this remote and beautiful castle as well as the cute coffee shop with delicious pastries and coffee. The staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating. The views from the castle were spectacular and staying here was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. The tower apartments were spacious with 3 levels to enjoy. Our favorite room was the yellow sitting room in the upper tower. We wished that we had reserved additional nights to explore more of the island. While we were able to take a lovely walk down to the coast from the castle, there are numerous trails and hikes that we didn't get to do. It is a slower pace than the mainland, but we loved it for that reason. Driving on the island could be a bit challenging at times with the one-lane roads. Overall, it was wonderful!

This is a manor home built in the style of a castle. This part of the castle is all yours. It’s huge! Two bedrooms and three sitting rooms (one has a sleeper sofa).

It is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is furnished with everything you need. Bedding is wonderful.

Besides this, the pros are: gorgeous views from sitting rooms, excellent location for easy hiking-gorgeous! And the coffee shop on the property that is truly luxe!

Cons could be: far from everything else on one-tract roads (check a map, for non UK drivers it meant not driving in the dark or drinking wine with dinners or), one bathroom and no private outdoor space. The turret access, that actually is a patio is up a narrow spiral stair case and has no furniture (except a bench) and no view (high walls).

All that being said, plan ahead (bring your food and plan on staying put for a couple of days to hike and hang out with the sheep and cows and killer sunsets) this is a glorious spot to rest. And the contact & communication was excellent. Property owners were also friendly and non-hovering.

My wife and I made the decision to book a stay at Glengorm Castle in September 2023, after we loved what we had read about the estate. When we arrived on the Isle of Mull in July 2024 and made the 26 mile ride to Glengorm, it wasn’t until we turned onto the single track road and made our way up and down the hillsides and around blind bends, passing black faced sheep, that we saw what looked like a castle in the distance. We stopped the car: “No way!” We wound our way closer, losing and refinding the castle several times before turning onto the drive, where we were silenced by our shared awe. We were greeted by Tom Nelson, the owner, who showed us to and through the Tower Rooms, and then comfortably left us to explore his family’s 5000 acre estate over our four-day stay. If you are looking for hills and ocean, peace and calm, with room to roam and hike and relax and breathe on what is very much a working farm—with a fabulous on-site coffee shop run by Tom’s wife, Marjorie— Glengorm is for you.

What an incredible experience! It is impossible to determine the best part of staying at Glengorm. The beds are comfortable; the space is updated, but you know you're in a castle; it is spotlessly clean; the central heating keeps you comfortable even through gales; the kitchen is well stocked; the views...absolutely incredible; the bath and shower are luxurious; even the artwork is incredible. All of that and we haven't even mentioned the grounds, the warm welcome by Pam, and the fact that this has to be the best castle stay in Scotland. We hope to be back and stay longer next time!

Who doesn’t want to stay in a castle? We had the tower rooms for 2 nights in early April. Incredible building, full kitchen, 3 levels of gorgeous rooms with amazing farm and ocean views just for us. Family owned with friendly dogs and gorgeous walking among the sheep. Standing stones in easily walkable distance. The whole experience was downright magical.

Booked a two night stay and for one day/night we had no heating or hot water, not ideal for March, no one around to inform and when finally made contact we were asked to go and shower in another room across the hall, so not really the picture perfect stay when thought we were paying for.

We had a super stay in the Glengorm Castle tower rooms. Beautifully decorated and unique accommodation with so much character. Very spacious accommodation. Comfy beds and quality linens. Views from all rooms were super. As you’d expect, there are some spiral staircases to access the tower rooms.

Marjorie was a very welcoming host, kind and helpful during our stay. Pam was super at getting us organised before arrival.

There was a mechanical noise for about 10 minutes around 10pm each night, possibly the water pump which was a surprise the first time we heard it.

We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave. Such a privilege to get to stay in a beautiful castle.

This was our 5th stay at the castle. Travelling up from Norfolk . A long drive , but worth every mile .
Once on the island , we stop off in Tobermory for supplies . A quick visit to the Tobermory Fish Company, their fish pies are the best ! , then on to the Glass House for their delicious homemade Cheeses, not forgetting the range of organic spirits they produce using the whey from the cheese .

The tower rooms are warm , spacious but cosy and very welcoming . The kitchen is fitted out with everything you could need and the beds are extremely comfortable with gorgeous luxurious bed linen .

The cafe/restaurant in the grounds , a short walk from the castle , serves the most delicious , very reasonably priced, home cooked meals and cakes .

I can’t recommend it enough and will no doubt return again soon .

My recommendation is to stay in the Tower Rooms if available, although it looks like there are other very nice options on the property. The Tower Rooms are magical. Stay as long as you can, plan as few activities as possible, and spend most of your time walking. Bring Wellingtons. Bathtub is a dream, selection of books excellent, complimentary whiskey excellent, wood burning stove cozy, candlelit sitting room in tower is dream.

My wife and I had booked this and a few other rooms for our stay on Mull while on our wedding trip and this was nothing short of perfect for what we were looking for. We didn't know quite what to expect at first, as we had never been to Mull, but after arriving the accommodations exceeded any expectation we did have. From the sitting room stocked with logs for the fireplace, the welcome note and the fully equipped kitchen, it had all we needed. The beautiful backdrop of the location made every view from the windows great. There is ample exploring to be done both in & out of rooms, as the property had plenty of hiking around it. The coffee shop down the road also was great for a pop in for some coffee, snacks, or sandwiches! The family and staff (especially Pam) onsite were nothing but accommodating and we left the property with nothing but positive things to say.

Our stay at Glengorm was magical. It was stormy out, but the rain stayed off shore long enough for a fine stroll through the fields. As the rain moved in, we set up for cocktails and snacks in the tower and spent the evening in the sitting room… with a cozy fire. I would love to do it again!

The Towers accommodation is a charming, albeit modernly-equipped place to stay. The views are gorgeous and the hosts hit the perfect balance between allowing privacy, and being friendly. It truly does have fairy tale like qualities with the rooms going up and up. I have never stayed in a more beautifully decorated and comfortable place. The sheep and the dogs were a wonderful added bonus!

I was so excited to stay in a Castle and so excited to be travelling to Mull and exploring the island. From the first sight of the castle to stepping inside was just awesome. I was not disappointed.
We had the tower rooms. 2Beautiful bedrooms. 3 living spaces, including a library and tower “pineapple “ room with 360 degree views. all with different and beautiful wallpapers and pictures. Kitchen was fine. Bathroom had a claw foot bath and a window to the north coast. And!!! A skinny spiral stair to the tower roof!! The wall around the roof is very high. So tiptoes are required, but it was the most special incredible place I have ever stayed.
We walked around the estate to the coast and the standing stones, looking for eagles and otters.
If you want a wild coastal stay that is super special , this is your place. It’s also the most I’ve ever paid for accommodation, but I have no regrets.

The Tower Rooms apartment at Glengorm Castle is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The bedrooms were huge and again very comfortable we all slept very well. The bathroom was huge with plenty of towels and luxury toiletries with a fantastic view from the bath! Although the castle is a private family home it is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay. The views from the apartment were stunning especially from the Tower Room which was our favourite room to retreat to. There are beautiful walks to explore the estate. We would highly recommend this as a special place to stay.

We have had the most amazing experience at Glengorm Castle, it actually felt like a life changing experience as now we want to move to Mull !! It started with the excellent service from the time we booked right through to the minute we left . Whether it was Pam, Asha or Tom the owner, they just made you feel special and at home. The location is out of this world with unspoiled views of your surroundings. As for the accommodation itself, it is just superb in every sense ! We really appreciated the focus on conservation and we’re thrilled to see beautiful bird life and hear the owl calling outside our room early each morning. We will be back. Thank you to everyone at Glengorm for this wonderful experience.

We returned to Glengorm after being married in the library in October 2006. It was so lovely to show this special place to our two daughters and give them a taste of Mull.
Glengorm Castle hasn’t changed since 2006, relaxed, informal, cosy and friendly.
We had a wonderful time and thank all the team there for keeping it such a special home.

We stayed in the Tower Rooms (apartment) for 1 night.
So much space, quite a few rooms we couldn't use, and access to the roof for all round views.
The breakfasts were very good indeed.
The only small niggle was the beds were a bit soft, and creaked a little, but all else was top notch!
I would definitely recommend.
Also - the whiskey marmalade is very good too, and available to purchase!

We had an excellent one night stay in the finished apartment at Glengorm Castle. What a dream to stay in an actual castle! Marjorie made us feel at home with our tour and her hospitality. The rooms are all so different and decorated so beautifully. We walked the lovely grounds at dusk, listening to the abundant Robins. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and so fresh. Marjorie also was very helpful with our driving route the following day...taking 2 small ferries allowed us to see the beautiful Glencoe Valley! We can now check off staying in a castle off our bucket list!

We stayed at Glengorm Castle for 4 nights and wished we had of stayed longer.. this was a magical setting atop a hill overlooking the sea and within 10 minutes drive of the town of Tobermory close to any ferry or restaurant you may need, but the self catering of the Tower Rooms was all you really need at dinner time.. the bed was so comfortable with the finest linens.. wonderful feature is having your own laundry facilities - no need to pack a lot as you can wash whatever you need.. the views are breathtaking .. the Cafe is a short walk away for a morning coffee or a tea & scone in afternoon..

Would highly recommend staying In order to experience a unique visit to a beautiful coastal environment viewed from the Tower rooms of Glengorm Castle or from the very welcoming and comfortable library where various whiskeys await you after a long walk.

We had a wonderful time at Glengorm Castle! Only small changes would have elevated our experience! Our son stayed on the pull-out sofa in the library of the Tower suite and like most folding pull-outs it was a bit sagging and his sleep was not great.
Great views, especially atop the turret! Wonderful breakfast! Although a few mistakes were made with our order, but our server was friendly which made up for the mistakes.

We loved our visit to Glengorm Castle. The tower apartment is beautiful. 2 Comfortable bedrooms, several lovely sitting rooms, and even a full kitchen (which we didn’t need use though it looked very functional). The tower apartment actually has 3 floors, very spacious, beautifully decorated. We also had use of several common rooms on the ground floor on the castle which had outstanding views of the ocean. One sort of a library with whisky to sample, the other a game room with a pool table and huge windows to look out on the gorgeous grounds, the mountains and the North Atlantic ocean. We walked the grounds through pastures of sheep and Scottish cows, winding down to cliffs overlooking the ocean and a rocky beach. It’s a walk that most would feel comfortable doing. The round trip took us 1.5 to 2 hours, as we took our time to marvel at the scenery. Of note, this was the coldest place we visited in Scotland and the wind was quite extreme on the walk, but nothing a knit cap couldn’t take care of. We only stayed one night but one could easily spend a much longer time in this peaceful setting. I’d recommend at least 2 nights.

Glengorm Castle was a fantastic place to stay while we were on Mull. The Tower Suite is a beautifully kept eclectic set of rooms that felt like a home from home. Our hosts were incredibly helpful and the communal areas magnificent in their splendour with lovely walks down to the coast. An amazing stay.

We loved staying in the Tower rooms which beautifully furnished and maintained with beautiful views from every room (I’ve never had a bath with a view before!) Great to be able to sit by a log fire both in the public area and in the apartment. The hosts are attentive and we loved tasting from the collection of whiskey on offer. Ideal for a special retreat / breakaway.

Stayed in Tower Rooms for the second time in past 4 years. Wonderful and unique place in every way. Enjoyed walking the extensive property, taking in the standing stones and the drifts of wildflowers and ferns, the rocky coastline, the sheepy meadows.
A terrific base for exploring the north and central territories of Mull.

The Glengorm is a bit of a drive off the main road and is, like all old castles, worn in places, but it is staffed by wonderful people and is in a lovely location. We enjoyed our stay of eight days very much and look forward to returning.

My best friends and I stayed here during our road trip in Scotland and loved ever second! It was wonderful! The tower was giant, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was accommodating and helpful going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We used the whisky library and went on walks throughout the gorgeous property. We also had breakfast before we checked out and it was delicious. I can’t express how great it was to stay there except to say I wish we’d had more time and we definitely want to go back!

Three idyllic days on Mull at stunning Glengorm Castle. The Tower Rooms gave us privacy, whilst also being able to benefit from the comfortable communal ground floor rooms in the Castle. The views from every aspect were glorious. We were blessed with three sunny days and magnificent sunsets, which the Castle and its grounds face directly. We genuinely did not want to leave. Thank you to everyone at Glengorm.

We stayed in the Tower Rooms as part of a tour of Scotland for my dad's 60th birthday - Glengorm Castle did not disappoint. The photos online do not do this place justice - we were shown into the castle by the owners (made even more spectacular when we were greeted by an open fire after a day tackling wind and rain on the Isle of Mull) and we were given a tour of the communal areas - including a whisky room and a pool table. It surely couldn't get any better. Then we were shown to the Tower Rooms - 2 stunning king rooms, a big bathroom with views out across the Atlantic Ocean and 3 sitting rooms - as we were a party of 5, the staff had kindly made up a sofa bed.

There were many things to explore at Glengorm castle - the highlight being that we had access to the roof of the turret and 360 views of the area. The castle was warm, modernly decorated (but in keeping with the castle and surroundings) and really well equipped. Truely a hidden gem in the rugged landscape of the Isle of Mull and I would highly recommend a visit.

Glengorm is an amazing place to be and the hosts are incredibly friendly. The castle has so much to offer: stunning nature and landscape invite for hikes and walks but you‘ll feel home reading a book at the fire place, playing some billiard or games or visit the castle café for some fresh scones. We would not want to have missed this experience. Thank you so much.

Glengorm is a peaceful place and within the castle is a cordial environment, like one is in a different world! We loved every bit of our stay at Glengorm castle. Its the place to stay on Isle of Mull, definitely worth a visit.
Though, the toilet and bathroom in the Tower rooms could do with an upgrade. Thanks very much for a fabulous time at the castle.

We had booked the Castle during lockdown and we were so grateful the holiday could go ahead. Our stay was even better than we had hoped, we had amazing sunny weather, enjoyed the laid back vibe of the castle, exploring the grounds and meeting some of the other people staying over and exchanging travel stories over a glass of whisky in the library.
We stayed in the Tower Rooms with our two kids and were blown away by the space and the various rooms available to us.
My husband says it is his favourite ever stay. I think we may need to look at coming back again….

We had the best time in the Isle of Mull, Glengorm Castle is a gem on top of a hill, with genuine 360 views across the sea. The host was incredibly kind, and we enjoyed a wee dram in the library whilst watching beautiful sunsets. The castle is located 5 minutes from Tobermory and 30 mins from the ferry. The tower room was amazing, very spacious, a full mansion all to our selves :)

The castle is stunning, both the location and the facilities. Our bedrooms were beautifully decorated and whilst the lounges arent as luxurious they are nice. A couple of throws would have made those rooms a bit more cosy and perhaps continuing the decorating themes from downstairs would have made upstairs feel more connected to the bedroom areas
The kitchen was well equipped and the Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom are lovely
The ability to use the main house facilities was good. The complimentary whisky is a nice touch and the range of board games was good
Everywhere is very clean and has amazing views.
It was disappointIng that the coffee shop was closed but we would check that out before our next visit to be more prepared
We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer ,we will definitely return
Thankyou

Two nights away felt completely restorative. The apartment was gorgeous with so many rooms to explore and an amazing roof top lookout and view from the tub. Having the kitchen was really lovely travelling with kids. We ate half our meals out and half we prepared. It was wonderful to have the common rooms to sip whiskey, play pool, sit by the fire, and enjoy different views. We loved our stay and will return. Thank you!

From the moment I booked we received first class service. It really does deserve the 5 star award. Our stay in the Tower Apartments ( 5 persons & furry friend) exceeded our expectations . I was so pleased that Glengorm castle is dog friendly. Upon arrival we rang the hand bell and were greeted and shown the communal areas, we could have access to in addition to our apartment. The complimentary whiskey library deserves a special mention, there were at least 25 bottles of single malts ,available for sampling , which were particularly enjoyed. So much attention to detail, like high end white goods, quality gadgets, pretty unchipped crockery, great selection of beverages & local biscuits, fluffy bath robes, fab toiletries, nice selection of dvds, books & games.
The location was amazing, with stunning grounds, lovely walks.
The only problem was we didn't stay long enough!
We would love to return, as this is the perfect place to relax away from it all.

Stunning apartment as part of the castle with its own spiral staircase leading from the bedrooms downstairs up to the living room, kitchen sitting room. Venturing up the turret small staircase leads to the tower sitting room with 360 degree windows and up to the roof (Where we saw Mars very clearly). This was an amazing find and would love to stay again. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent. My husband enjoyed the array of whiskeys in the library (FOC), my daughter enjoyed the pool table in the lounge and I enjoyed the views from every window. We wandered the estate, hand lunch in the coffee shop and met the highland cows on a wander to the shore. Couldn’t recommend Glengorm Castle highly enough.

Everything about Glengorm Castle was fantastic. We stayed in the Tower Rooms and were blown away by how special the apartment was. Everything felt luxurious and the views were stunning. The sunsets over the sea were just beautiful. The grounds provided plenty of space for vigorous walks and Tobermory was a short drive away to get supplies. The only slight note I'd make is the bathtub could do with a makeover as it looked old and not very inviting. But this was a small issue and overall I would heartily recommend Glengorm Castle. A truly special break amidst the most breathtaking surroundings.

Wonderful experience at the castle. Amazing place to stay, very friendly and helpful and surrounded by sublime views and walks. Strongly recommend the full breakfast, the little coffee shop/restaurant and a Staffa boat tour. Joy to see lots of very playful common dolphins on our trip.

We (my 27 year old son and I) rented the Tower Rooms for 3 nights because, well, it's Scotland and we wanted to stay in a castle. Glengorm Castle thoroughly exceeded our expectations on every score. The castle itself is magnificent and the location idyllic. The beds comfortable and all amenities excellent. Added touches in the main common areas such as deep comfortable couches & chairs arranged for social interaction with other guests, binoculars for looking out over the ocean and complimentary drams of good whisky, all make this place feel like a comfortable, welcoming home.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfasts were excellent with lovely table settings and good food well prepared.
We advised staff we were leaving early on the last morning and without hesitation we were offered a breakfast pack to take with us! We enjoyed munching on it in the car waiting for the ferry. Thank you!

I planned our Scottish honeymoon for months and decided to end our 2 weeks at Glengorm due to the pictures online it looked like a fantasy location and the perfect end to our trip. Turns out I was exactly right. Since being home my wife has side Glengorm was here favorite place we stayed (we stayed in 6 include another very pricey “Castle” hotel on the mainland. Checking into Glengorm at night, lets just say is interesting. Old building in the dark, you think you are walking into a Ghost story. However, Glengorm is inviting, relaxing and comfortable. The road to get there is loaded with Coos and very narrow but certainly not the scariest road I was on in Scotland. The best thing about Glengorm are the people. So incredibly friendly and helpful. Service was terrific. You also feel as if you are visiting a rich uncle because the Castle has family photos and it makes you feel as if you are home. We stayed in the Towers rooms which had a full kitchen and laundry. It was just perfect, we loved it. The only suggestion I would make to the owners is to try to redecorate the rooms with period furniture. I am an antique dealer in the making and Victorian furniture is extremely cheap these days. It would be awesome for the Towers rooms to be decorated with these period pieces.

This place is breathtaking! We stayed in the tower rooms for 1 night and it couldn’t have been better. Plenty of room. Tom welcomed us on arrival and showed us around and arranged a taxi to take us into Tobermory for dinner. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room is gorgeous. The view out of every window is unbelievable. I hope to make it back someday.

Well....this was a highlight of our 3 week tour of the highlands. We stayed in the tower suite...9 rooms on 4 floors and while it stretched our budget, it was definitely worth it! We had three people sharing two bedrooms, plus a sitting room, bathroom, kitchen, tower sitting room and the top of the turret which offered stunning views. Breakfast in the formal dining room was sumptuous and we were fortunate to be seated in the bay window area with a marvelous view of the grounds and the water.

The library/pool room was fun, and the whiskey tasting room was over the top. Walking about the grounds was stunning, passing by the 4,000 year old standing stones, Flat Rock, the bathing pool and castle mount and even the remains of the village which suffered through the clearance. We even found the ship inscribed into the doorway of one of the crofts....the one in the best shape, behind the rise in the middle of the field.

The hosts were gracious and the staff were polite and helpful. After watching Monarch of the Glen and Downton Abbey, we felt like we were living the dream. We would strongly recommend Glengorm Castle (and the tower suite) to anyone wanting to experience the best the Scottish highlands have to offer.

How can you explain the surreal stay that was Glengorm. Magical? Yes. Breath taking? Yes. Friendly? Yes. My family walked around the whole time in amazement. The castle is so warm and comfortable, the views are unreal, and everyone who worked there was so friendly and accommodating. Would not change a single thing. I will be back. Everyone should have this experience once in their life. Thank you thank you.

This was our 3rd stay at Glengorm over the last 5 years. It is never a long enough stay. The setting and property are gorgeous. It is a peaceful lovely place. We have stayed in the Tower Rooms, as well as the other self catering units in the castle. They are all well appointed and comfortable.
The public rooms are beautiful and spacious, with spectacular views of the sea. And the library is my husband’s favorite room!
The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast served in the large dining room is delicious.

My daughter and I chose to stay for a couple of days during our three week self-catering holiday. My late husband's family come from the island and we visit twice a year, each time staying in a different part of the island.
We really enjoyed our stay with our Border Terrier, Nuidhe, as the apartment was extremely comfortable and cosy and, of course, had fabulous views. We appreciated the fact that we could bring our dog with us.

Glengorm Castle is a wonderful and enchanting accommodation for your holiday. We chose it for a birthday celebration, and it was a great surprise for my daughter. It could be a wonderful setting for just about any occasion or just to relax. The castle and grounds are just so impressive situated high by the seaside.Beautiful walking trails to see nature and close location to Tobermory with plenty of options for dining. Glengorm is at the top of my long list of places visited.

1. When we arrived, there were no towels in the apartment. We had to ask for towels
2. I was disappointed with the kitchen. The kitchen sponge and dish cloth had been used and were marked. I managed by using the two kitchen towels. The oven was smelly and the oven trays and other utensils needed cleaning. I cleaned some of the trays in the dishwasher. There was no kitchen foil nor any salt and pepper which are usually standard items with any self catering accommodation.
3. Although the fire had been made, it was impossible to keep the fire lit. There were no firelighters nor any kindling and the logs in the basket were that big they wouldn't fit in the burner

At the time we, decided not to complain. These are straight forward requirements. Glengorm Castle is a lovely place in a stunning location and we had a wonderful time in Mull but we won't be returning to the Castle.

What a fabulous location! The staff were friendly and helpful. The Tower Rooms Apartment was magical, with numerous rooms, our favourite was the lounge area that was part way up the tower. The beds were comfortable (a must for someone with a bad back), the kitchen was stocked with a good selection of teas and coffee. Our 9 year old son did not want to leave. We will definitely be back.

Our stay in the Tower Room(s) at Glengorm exceeded expectations. It was almost too much to take in in just two days! Splendid bedroom, bathroom, dining area. We enjoyed a fire in the fire stove while dining in. Had a stirring walk to the standing stones, bathing pool, fort and rocky coast. Awoke to a rainbow on our first morning in the western sky. It was all magic. Pam was a great host/manager. And the single malt whiskys in the “whisky room”,... very special.
We couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

We had an absolutely amazing stay in the Tower Room. Compared to other luxury properties in Scotland, this apartment is an amazing value. There are multiple rooms, kitchen and dining areas (we heated lasagnas purchased from the cafe for dinner which were wonderful), and wonderfully furnished bedrooms. The property itself is gorgeous with a ton of room for the kids to run around and hikes to go on. The breakfast was wonderful in the castle dining room.... truly felt like we were guests in a home. We only stayed one night on Mull, but this was by far one of our favorite places to stay... highly recommended.

Our journey entailed 2 ferries and a few ‘hairy’ single track roads, but we were not disappointed when we reach Glengorm castle. It’s a ‘proper’ castle with only a handful of guest rooms, but commands wonderful views of the coastline and surrounding countryside. There’s lots of space so you sometimes feel like the only ones there and the free single malt whisky was much appreciated! The tower rooms themselves were fabulous and include no less than 3 living rooms! Breakfast a bit pricey, but tasty. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Glengorm has a magic sense of timelessness. We stayed in the Tower rooms, which gave us access to the turret at the top of . the castle. From there, we could see 360 degrees and take in the wonderful vistas.
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. (the complementary whiskey was much appreciated too!)

Good in parts.... astonishing location, loads of space, superb kitchen, loads of tea coffee and milk. Good choice for breakfast. Fine art and furniture. Comfortable beds.
BUT
expensive at £330 for one night self catering, or £15 for breakfast, could sleep six at a push, four in comfort. But only one toilet, three sinks, but one with a plug. complicated TV controls but no instructions.
Would we recommend it yes, but if staying more than one night, insist on getting TV instrs and sink plugs sorted.

Our first time at Glengorm. We enjoyed the property, stunning views from every corner of the room and great customer services. The breakfast was great (we love Pollock with poached eggs, black pudding and whisky marmalade).

Some furnitures need attention e.g. resurfacing of bath tub in the toilet. Also, we wish that they don’t chop down trees around the estate. It made the place looked sad.

We had high expectations from reading the reviews but these were hugely exceeded. It is hard to know where to start. We had the Tower rooms, which are incredibly spacious, and even had our on turret with sky deck. There were also beautiful, homely and comfortable public lounges in which to meet fellow guests, including the ‘whisky library’ with a large selection on single malts, which are complimentary. We felt like special houseguests in a PG Woodhouse novel and almost expected to see Jeeves and Bertie Wooster at any moment. We loved every minute of our stay, from our lovely welcome from Olivia, our wonderful apartment, our delicious breakfasts served with great charm and professionalism by Scott, Audrey and Olivia, to the 5,000 acres of castle grounds in which we were free to wander. This is a very special place and we are already working out how to return as soon as possible! LOVED it!!!!!!!!

The Glengorm Castle Hotel is truly spectacular. From the second we arrived we were amazed at the beauty of this place. I only wish we had more time here. We will definitely be back. Sitting in the Library, looking out over the property is so relaxing. Thanks for an incredible stay!!

My husband and I and our four children stayed in the Terrace flat for 2 weeks in the summer of 1982 and again in 1983. We had such wonderful times but found it difficult to book again. My eldest son noticed that the castle had become a hotel and encouraged me to visit. So my daughter and I planned a trip together culminating in our stay at Glengorm. It was just as wonderful as ever!

I changed my holidays plans on Mull in order to stay at Glengorm and I'm pleased we did. The view from the Tower Rooms was spectacular and the apartment was of the standard I would expect. The public rooms were thoughtfully and comfortably laid out. The games room with billiard table was a hit with my boys and the complimentary whisky library with open fire and fresh bucket of ice was a treat. Marjorie and Pam were very welcoming. The only improvement I could suggest would perhaps be some outside lighting around the perimeter of the castle, which is pitch black after dark with the exception of one outside light by the cars.

Never in my life have I felt more like I was on vacation than staying in the Tower Rooms at Glengorm Castle. The ambiance and grounds were magical. My favorites were the scrumptious breakfasts, bubble bath and sea view out the window, misty mornings and the whiskey library. ( My husband particularly enjoyed that )
Thank you for making this venue available to the public!

Too bad we only got to spend one night in the Glengorm Castle...what a beautiful property with sweeping views of the ocean. The Castle was spacious and comfortable. From the minute we arrived, we felt at home in this magnificent castle. The staff were so accommodating and friendly it really was a home from home, yet we were in an actual castle! The tower rooms were absolutely perfect for our group of 5, with loads of space, every requirement considered and beautifully decorated. Was delighted to see a Nespresso machine there too (far too used to my luxuries!!) we even had our own viewing turret room to see incredible views of the island. Just loved the whole experience and felt it was excellent value for money, would 100% recommend

I don't usually write reviews but I have to share this with others. It was a coincidence that we got this place for one night (pretty busy/booked schedule but we found an open night that worked with our plans). From the minute we arrived, we were in awe. The castle is just gorgeous. Inside, they've captured the old royal feel, from the furniture to the art, the wood work, the rugs, etc. Scott was extremely helpful and showed us our rooms (Tower rooms is actually closer to a 4 story apartment - AWESOME). We had prepared wood/paper in our fireplace, functioning heaters, a roof view of the coast, a stocked kitchen with coffee pods (very convenient!), a beautiful tub/shower, comfy beds and couches to relax on, so much more. Downstairs, there we a couple rooms to relax and spend time with family, a pool table, library with books (more gorgeous furniture and art), a wide selection of complimentary scotches to try (this alone made it worth the stay, we loved tasting these!), a beautiful walk down the back yard out to pastures and the coast, and in the morning, we got the breakfast which was absolutely delicious and worth every pence. Our next trip to Scotland with definitely include staying here again. HIGHLY recommended (stay at least 2 nights if you can)!

We booked the Tower Rooms in the castle in order to feel, once in our lifetime, like "prince and princesses" - and our dream came true. The little tower room high above the landscape is now , for ever, our "princess room" with its cosy atmosphere and the view over the sea ( even if there wasn't any view because of the weather conditions). All the other rooms of the huge appartment are spacious and beautifully furnished - like the rest of the castle is, by the way. Unfortunately, we couldn't get more than one night, but we are looking forward to another stay at Glengorm Castle, hopefully longer.

We had an excellent time in the Tower Rooms. The stay was not cheap, but we were on a special trip and feeling indulgent. We didn't make use of half the amenities provided, but it was pretty special having your own private tower space, looking out on the Mull sunsets. Staying there has a feels a bit like rambling around in a Bronte novel. We'd love to come back with another family and children, a big group could stay there really happily and comfortably for days.

Staying in the beautiful , roomy Tower Room at Glen Goram was the highlight of our month long journey .
The setting , the people , the incredible property - standing stones - beaches and hills were amazing . Watching the sunset across the sea from the Compass Room in the tower was magically . Soaking in the deep tub with the ocean view and having so much space was heavenly - we will be back for sure and stay longer next time !

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Glengorm. At the end of a long trip with many cramped hotel rooms, we very much enjoyed the spaciousness and apartment-like feel of the Tower Rooms. The sitting room near the top of the tower was a huge hit; our children called it the "kids' lounge" and enjoyed relaxing and playing games there. The views were exceptional from every room -- with the rooftop the most memorable of all. We had great hikes through the fields down to the standing stones and fort, and the kids loved clambering over the coastal rocks. Plus, we very much appreciated the relaxed pace and simplicity of Tobermory nearby. Glengorm/Mull was the clear highlight of our trip -- and we are very hopeful to come back again someday.

Thank you for the big room. Especially for the high tower as well as the small room close to the winding staircase. The views were perfect. The childeren will never forget their bag of crisps on top of the tower at night. We played football with a specdid view but due to a sprained ankle at football our stay was not as perfect as we hoped. But that was bas luck and the staff were most helpful.

We stayed here for one magical night with friends in late July 2017. We had the Tower room, which was a beautifully furnished 2 floor suite of rooms with many sitting rooms, books and games, a kitchen, 2 beautiful bedrooms with super comfortable beds, wood burning fireplaces in almost every room, and laundry facilities. Breakfast was served in the dining area and was either a Continental breakfast or ordered from the menu and was beautifully cooked. The grounds of the castle are immense and amazingly beautiful, with flocks of sheep wandering in the distant fields and panoramic vistas. Lots of areas to explore, even some Standing Stones about a mile away, but due to the weather turning the next day the trails were too soggy to manage. WiFi worked best in the front living room. The whisky library featured a well stocked array if single malts from various parts of Scotland and provided us the opportunity to meet with the other guests at the castle. All in all it was the one of the best places we had ever stayed and was one of the highlights of our week in Scotland. Highly recommended!l

Our stay at Glengorm Castle was a real treat and a shame it was only for one night.
Our apartment was much more than I had imagined with actual access into the tower room via a spiral staircase and a small outside area. We literally felt like we were on top of the world.
Loved every minute of our stay. Grounds are magnificent, breakfast, beds, rooms, kitchen, sitting areas, staff all amazing.
One day I hope to come back and stay longer.

Glengorm castle is a beautiful place with wonderful staff. Situated high on a bluff above the ocean, you can see for miles. The rooms are amazing and well appointed. When we had a touch of stormy weather I thought for sure I had landed in a Agatha Christy novel or onto the set of "Clue". I would return in a heartbeat!

We had imagined much about the Castle itself, but did not expect that it was the grounds/location that made the whole experience. The castle itself is very nice, and the Tower Rooms are really spacious, ample for a family. In fact, our children chose to sleep in the sea-facing living rooms instead of the bedroom. It has all the charms of being in the "tower". There is a small reading room in the tower itself that is plain and beautiful.

But the grounds of Glengorm is something else. Imagine you can just roam in every direction, path or not, and be able to see the hills and the sea. We could've spent days just walking the grounds aimlessly (by choice). So while inside the castle, it's the stunning view from every window that really took our breath away.

The staff were helpful when needed, and remained more or less invisible the rest of the time. I imagine the staff do that intentionally, so that guests can be left to their own devices. It's not like the intimate/chatty B&B setting.

Would definitely revisit - and may even ask to stay in the cottages instead of the castle itself. Again, the grounds are what makes it.

The castle itself is really awesome, located just in front of the sea, remotely from Tobermory. You'll need a car to get there. Rooms are super spacious, clean and very quiet. There are many common rooms where you can taste scottish whisky or play pool. The piano needs maintenance. The atmosphere there is just thrilling. The furniture is quite cheap compared to the solemnity of the castle.
The frontdesk/reception is not visible, which is a good point as it helps you get into the atmosphere. As a consequence, you need to wait sometimes to get someone help you. Service is a bit cold. We felt a bit kicked out at checkout time, 11am sharp.
Last point is that we send emails to know possibilities to extend our stay, but we never got any reply.
All in all, very good experience of a scottish castle, but service to be improved.

Fabulous stay at Glengorm Castle. This bed and breakfast is a wonderful, place to stay on Mull.
We stayed in the tower apartment and it was great to have our own kitchen, so we only had breakfast one morning which was lovely by the way.
The apartment is spread over 3 levels great , as long as you don't have a problem with stairs.
The 2 bedrooms bathroom and loo are on the 1st level. There are views from all around throughout the apartment.
The 2nd level is the kitchen and sitting room / dining area with a log burner telly etc. There is also a little reading room on this level with another log burner if needed.
The 3rd level has another sitting area and you can go up again to the tower and view the stars from an open area.

The whole apartment is very warm with adjustable radiators.
Full of character as the whole house is with a warm and shabby chic feel.
The whisky library is great and complimentary.
Whilst we didn't ever meet the owners , we felt their presence by the sheer hospitality we received.

The castle is situated on the coast and the views and walks are brill. You don't need to leave if you don't want too!
Everything is there!
The cafe is good too.

Thankyou for a warm welcome. Glendgorm. We will be back again to enjoy another wonderful stay.
Fabulous!!!!

Glengorm Castle was a dream come true. Everything was comfortable, spacious and beautiful. The staff was helpful and courteous. We had everything we needed, and more... except a key to our door. The key to the Tower Rooms was, apparently, taken home by someone and if we locked the door, well, there was no way back in! I was nervous about this for about five seconds. As we have no irreplacable valuables, and Glengorm feels unbelievably safe, that worry vanished right away.
Aside from that, everything was perfect! The grounds, the rooms, the breakfast. The peace! If you've seen that little video on their website you've heard those monents of just air whooshing by. That is what lured me to Glengorm, and that peace is real! After the lambs find their mothers and settle down, that peacefulness descends and it is heaven. The kids keep asking if we can skip all our other stops and just go back to Glengorm. I hope one day we can! PS: Go see the puffins on the Treshnish Isles. Totally worth it!

The towers of the castle are amazing with stunning views, spacious rooms, and a very relaxed and casual atmosphere.

No formalities or pretenses, just a pleasurable stay in a magnificent location on the edge of the world. It really is as magical as you might imagine.

During the days we explored Tobermory, cruised with Stafa Tours to Fingal's cave, and hiked the surrounding fields including a short walk to the ancient Glengorm Standing Stones. In the evenings we mingled with other guests in the library while sipping from the variety of whiskeys while watching the sunset across the Atlantic.

Nothing short of breathtaking. This property fulfilled everything we expected and more -- the only downfall is that we only had one night in this castle. I would recommend a multiple day stay to experience what the castle and property has to offer. The Tower apartment was nothing short of a fairy tale come to life for my three girls and the Tower Room overlooking the Ocean for my wife and I was incredible. The Victorian Tub was my wife's favorite and I greatly enjoyed the Whisky Tasting Room.

Thank you very much to the hosts and we look forward to coming back for a longer stay.

The whole experience at Glengorm was amazing from the moment we stepped through the magnificent front door until we continued our tour of Scotland the next day.
The staff were courteous, kind and very considerate to our needs.
The tower rooms just completely exceeded our expectations, which were high!
The grounds superb.
A stay at Glengorm is an absolute must for anyone who is visiting the area.

The location, the views, and the castle itself all make this for an unforgettable experience. Pam was a lovely host, and our time there was relaxing, and certainly an escape from the big cities.

The castle itself was visually stunning, and it's clear that recent renovations have taken place, but I will say the standard was not up to what you would expect for such a pricey stay. The fit and finish of our rooms was good, but not excellent - especially considering what we paid for our stay. But then again, you are paying for the seclusion, the experience, and the utterly stunning location and views.

So all in, I would still say it was very much worth it. The experience will stay with our family for many, many years!

2 night stay in Tower rooms - very spacious and comfortable accomodation, excellent for families with youing kids (we only discovered one of the reception rooms on our last day!). The view from the turret was amazing. Walks to the coast were very enjoyable and no crowds. Excellent service from the Staff, especially Steve. Enjoyed breakfasts with a superb view from dining room. The coffee shop was great for lunch as well. Home grown produce was tasty, esp beef sausages. The castle is well located, secluded but not too far from Tobermory. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

The GOOD - Unbeatable location. Cozy cluttered common lounge. Beautiful breakfast room and lovely breakfast. Perfect peace and stunning views. Lovely well appointed apartment.

The BAD - Laundry area and lounges could have been a bit cleaner and tidier. Checkout lady in office definitely needs to warm up - smiling but cold!!

Our family of 5 will never forget our stay at Glengorm Castle tower rooms! The entire experience exceeded all of our expectations! The caretaker was extremely helpful and friendly. The food at the cafe was terrific.Wandering freely through the pastures with the sheep and highland cattle, over the rocky shoreline, and along cliffs with gorgeous views, was invigorating yet peaceful. Watching the sunset from the cozy library while sampling a wide variety of scotch whiskeys was fantastic. Such a remote, peaceful place! So cool to be able to climb the spiral staircase to the roof to survey the estate from "our castle"!

We got in a bit late in the evening, but were warmly welcomed by the staff and shown the multiple floors and rooms ending with the open-air observation deck at the top of the tower. We settled in and then went to the sitting room to try out the various whiskies. We met an an interesting couple from the states and had some good conversation while enjoying our scotch. The beds were extremely comfortable and I think we had our best night's sleep in a long time. We got up early and walked the grounds, which have wonderful views, both looking out to the sea and back at the castle. The apartment is self catering, but we opted for the breakfast which was delicious and satisfying. We left wishing we could have stay longer.

My wife and I were so excited to see the castle and tour the amazing variety of rooms that comprised our suite. The staff were helpful, the food at breakfast was very good. For us, the castle and surrounding property (The surrounding meadows, ocean views, standing stones, views of surrounding islands, the sheep, the Highland cattle) were the highlight of our trip to Scotland. It was like the best of Scotland all in one place!

Unique accommodations with some plumbing antiquity in the form of loose faucets and slow drains. Comfortable and spacious rooms and one of the best breakfasts to be had. The grounds are unparalleled and provide opportunities for short walks or all day sojourns. Common areas encourage socializing and also provide insight into the history and legacy of the castle and Isle of Mull. The hosts and staff are welcoming and sincere.

Staying at Glengorm Castle in The Tower was the highlight of our three week adventure in Scotland. Our incredible Tower apartment had so many interesting rooms and features......and the views were spectacular from every window! We absolutely loved the Isle of Mull! Everywhere we went we found honest, kind people, delicious, fresh and amazing food, beautiful scenery and quaint little fishing villages to explore. We would recommend the Glengorm Castle experience to everyone!

If you are looking for a few days to completely escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, then Glengorm Castle is perfect. It is well located, off the beaten track, but only around 10 minutes drive from Tobermory. It is a stunning, iconic building, which is extremely spacious and comfortable. You receive a warm welcome and can go straight in to sample the free whisky from a selection in the lounge area. The Tower rooms are large and spacious, ideal for a family, with so many places to explore leading up to the turreted roof.
The grounds are stunning and there are some lovely walks in the area. The breakfasts are excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. Enjoy this stunning, wild place as a completely different and unforgettable place for a break.

Glengorm Castle fulfilled all our expectations, I have to say it exceeded them positively by far! Such a wonderful location and of course view, very welcoming staff, the Tower Rooms - just wonderful! Apart from the 2 spacious bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom with wonderful "rain shower" and huge bathtube we had 3 more living rooms in different styles, especially one of them with wonderful views again and then the "tower terrace" on top! In one living room everything was prepared to lite on chimney fire which we loved to do when it got dark. A wonderful library like lounge room on groundflloor (but still also with wonderful views till Coll and Tiree and even Skye in the distance) invites to enjoy a good malt whiskey and have a chat with other guests. The only suggestion here could be that there would be alternatives for people who don't like whiskey or are too young to drink it.The whiskey is complementary but there is nothing else available, not even to buy. But that's really the only thing that could be done better, everything else is absolutely perfect! And for me the whiskey was perfectly alright! ;) The breakfast also is wonderful, especially the really fresh (!) fruit salad! Most other products from the own farm production and probably the best raspberry jam I've ever got to taste! To say it shorty - Glengorm Castle is top!

We searched high and low for a castle in the UK, finding most that were not just ruins were available only for public tours. Others were far outside our budget or, at best, hotel rooms "at a castle" that were not "in a castle". We arrived on the Isle of Mull by ferry, preferring the Lochaline-Fishnish route as no reservations are required, allowing a leisurely approach on the single track roads. The castle stands alone, surrounded by 5,000 acres of farmland and, as we discovered later, dense forests. Our check-in with Pam was quickly dispatched and we explored our rooms with growing wonder, punctuated by a shout of joy as my niece found the top of the tower and the spectacular view. Though the view from the parapet was best, I found the view almost as good one level down in a sitting room with an overstuffed chair and a fireplace. The two, well appointed, bedrooms had lofty ceilings and the individual radiators could be set to a proper temperature. The larger bedroom contained a small, stacked, washer and dryer; which we made use of with the supplied laundry tablets. We cooked our meals in the smallish kitchen and ate in dining room with the telly - we had purchased food off the island and brought it with us. While the single toilet in a tiny room sufficed, the bathroom was enormous, with a stand alone tub the centerpiece. There is also a large, glass shower enclosure and two sinks. The on site staff were exceptional: from dealing with a blown fuse to ensuring we did not burn down the castle when we accidentally closed the flue on what we thought was a doused fireplace, setting off the fire alarms. For exercise, we roamed the farm and forests: at one point my niece said she felt like she was in the "forbidden forest" from the Harry Potter films.
The castle has been upgraded over the years, as one would expect, to install modern conveniences. There is a lack of detail in some of the craftsmanship. For instance, one bedroom door could not be shut as the latch would not engage. These small things in no way impacted our enjoyment of "our" castle - we never heard the other guests also in the castle.
Though, in one way we were disappointed. We had assumed from all our readings of Scottish literature that we would find the castle dark and dank, and the weather abysmal. This would force us to light a fire in the library and settle in with a good read and sip the free scotch; from the many bottles and brands stocked. The beautiful weather forced us to, literally, go far afield.

Been coming to Glengorm since the late 80s, so it's changed a bit over the years. Glengorm is spectacular when the weather is great, but really good even if the sun does not decide to shine and it pours for much of the time. Lots of walks and wildlife and a good coffee shop on the estate. Staff wherever you meet them are welcoming and helpful.

Always pleased to be at Glengorm, this is our first time in the Tower rooms. They are spacious and well equipped, a great mix of mod cons and character features. You can see almost all around the castle from range of rooms. My daughter loved the little library/snug which even had WiFi access. The old bath is great but there's a large modern shower if you prefer. The Tower is the highlight, 40 steps up a sturdy little staircase and you are able to see right round the castle at it's unforgettable views.

Glengorm castle was a truly amazing experience! Like having a vacation from yourself for a day in another world... :-) We arrived too late and had to leave to early in the morning. Whish we could have stayed for at least a few days. Tower rooms was without doubt the most expensive stay on our round trip in Scotland, but the one that gave most value for the money. I will most likely return to Glengorm castle in my dreams! :-)

Only negative about the Tower rooms were the terribly bad fold-up bed/sofa. It's a shame to present that as a bed when the rest is so fantastic. Tower rooms are therefore only suitable for four people, not five or six.

The narrow roads around Tobermory and to the castle were... interesting..! Many nice views along the road that the driver should better NOT take too much part of. ;-) About 20 minutes from Tobermory to the castle. Tobermory is well worth visiting, and the last oportunity to go to a restaurant or grocery store before the castle. Then while at Glengorm, just enjoy the peace and views!

Alles in Allem total empfehlenswert. Wir waren begeistert und würden immer gerne wieder kommen.

We loved our stay in the Tower Rooms and cannot wait to return another time!
Excellent self-catering apartment and very warm welcome. Views are amazing.
We had our own turrett with little room half way up, perfect for a drink watching the sun go down.
We were very lucky with the weather.
Well appointed bathroom and bedrooms.
My husband appreciated the whisky tasting in the drawing room.

Tower rooms were great and it was like living in your own private castle. Views from the tower parapet were amazing. Walking on the estate was great too.

We had the Tower Rooms for 2 nights - extraordinary stay.
Thanks again to Steve a real friend when was needed.
A great feeling came up at the library - free tasting of a wide selection brings you back in time in this room. Great - please keep this!
We will come back for sure!

We only wish we had stayed longer. An incredible experience- especially the view from the roof! Steve was very gracious. Having wiskey in the salon and breakfast in the dining room added to the atmosphere. A great travel value and worth the drive.

There is no doubting that the Tower apartment is lovely. But the stairs and the odd layout I would say make it unsuitable for families with small children and older guests. My father could not go up stairs at all after the first day. The stairs were a nightmare. Not having a toilet upstairs was also annoying. We had a few niggles with the apartment, like the television in the downstairs bedroom not working which became a problem when we realized my father could not get upstairs, problems with the shower and the absence of a cafetiere in the kitchen but other than that we had an enjoyable stay. Not sure it is worth the £250/night though so will go back to staying in the cottages on the estate instead.

We loved this place it felt magical from the moment you drive up the drive!
Sunset drinks in the Library
Log burning fire in your own personal sitting room
A perfect nights sleep in great quality bedding
Delicious breakfast with varied selection and excellent service
If I have to give a negative, the bath needed rust attended to ( however the walk in shower was all you needed ) and the kitchen cutlery drawer wasn't as clean as it should be.
But small things in comparison to the whole experience
I would most definitely highly recommend this glorious place

We loved everything about our stay at Glengorm tower rooms. It was great for a group of friends to stay together and have some privacy from other guests. The owners were so welcoming and friendly, the staff excellent and very helpful.
We notice that people complain about the road, but hey you are on an Island in Scotland not a city! It all adds to the adventure.

It was amazing. The rooms were wonderfully furnished and the access to the turret a real plus as it gave amazing views over the whole of Glengorm. We had a great walk down to the beach and standing stones. Breakfast was very tasty. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

We had a fabulous time in the tower apartment. Amazing views, loads of room and very comfy beds. The bathroom was divine and we loved the log fire. It was great to be able to use the rooms downstairs and sample the whisky library. Breakfast was delicious and such a treat. Kids loved playing with the dogs. The farm shop was perfect for afternoon tea and getting supper ingredients. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was our favourite place on our tour of Scotland - we will be back - thank you for sharing your amazing home.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our experience at Glengorm Castle was amazing, the accommodation in the Tower Rooms was everything we expected and more. The location is perfect, looking out over the north coast of Mull, the castle grounds and estate. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay including a well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, a good bathroom plus the fabulous room in the tower and the rooftop viewing area. We were extremely lucky with good weather while we were there and enjoyed the most stunning sunsets and night skies filed with stars. The complimentary malts in the library were the perfect bonus for us. We did think the rate was expensive but after we'd checked in we never once thought of it again, except that we felt we'd really got what we paid for. The staff and owners couldn't do enough for us and we can't wait to return to stay again.

The self catering "Tower Rooms" are a great choice for 2 couples holidaying together. Plenty of 'living area' space plus a circular room up a spiral staircase in the turret and access to a private roof area with battlements & dramatic views.
Guests are free to make use of the large reception room on the ground floor of the castle and enjoy free whisky in the library.
The grounds are perfect for long walks with amazing views.
On arrival, you ring a large brass hand bell & Pam answers to show you around. She is on hand during the day in a tucked away office. There is no reception desk to spoil the 'family home' atmosphere.
The only thing I would change is just a matter of taste - the Tower Rooms do have a lot of modern furniture & art, however the main bedroom & huge bathroom have more of the traditional, romantic feel we hope to find in a castle.
The 'Tower Rooms' kitchen has plenty of tea/coffee & biscuits - no fresh milk for arrival - however there is a good coffee shop in the grounds with a farm shop.
We had planned to go out to dinner, but the castle was so much fun we changed our minds and self catered dinner & breakfast. Tobermory is only a short drive away for further supplies.
All in all - great value for 4 people & the kind of place that makes you feel grateful to the owners for sharing it with you. Thanks!

The tower rooms is very spacious and neatly decorated. The king size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable but quite sqeeky. Loved the wood fireplace in the dinning/living room. Unbelievable views from the living room in the tower. The big space is difficult to warm up especially with all the windows but it's just another reason to snuggle up with someone special.

Though our stay was way too short (just one night), Glengorm was a total dream of a night's lodging! We all were pleased beyond our expectations of the accommodations, the grounds, and the sheer beauty of this location. Would love to return one day for several days worth of visit! Such a wonderful place to explore and enjoy the grandeur! While we didn't have time to sample the food, we thank you so much for the wonderful experience! Highly recommend!!!!

My late husband and I stayed at Glengorm Castle years ago and had a wonderful experience. When I decided to take my son and his children to Scotland, I knew we had to go to Mull and stay at Glengorm. It is one of the most peaceful and beautiful settings I know of. The view is incredible. The rooms are lovely and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Since we had our family together, I asked to stay in the tower rooms which is essentially an apartment in the side tower of the castle. It worked quite well for our purposes since it allowed us all to be together when we wanted to and separate when we didn't. The grounds are well kept and the nature trails are great. Breakfast was the traditional Scottish fare and they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions.

Loved the room, castle and location, but there is no dining room. It's a shame to have to depart such a beautiful and cozy environment to head into town in order to have supper or a pint. There is a cafe that offers a limited menu but it closes at 5. Staff was outstanding and accommodating.

There was some initial confusion over whether the Tower apartment was a B&B; or what a "service apartment" was. But the situation was clarified: this was a large apartment for two couples (which we were) that was self-catered. The apartment was large and well furnished. Our principle complaint was that there was only one bathroom for 4 people, which sometimes proved difficult. Otherwise, But the kitchen had coffee and tea supplies, and we brought in breakfast one morning, and paid another morning for the Castle's breakfast, which was excellent. We especially enjoyed two walks on the grounds, the standing stones, and the bathing pool.

The tower "room" we stayed in was just incredible, we didn't realize it was a full apartment with the bonus of the access to the turret and roof. Spectacular views to three sides of the property. Don't get me started on the property, only a poet could describe what I felt and saw, just breathtaking. Stewart, our host when we arrived and at breakfast was incredible. One disappointment was the bath and shower; the shower provided no hot water, the bath needed work to be suitable for use, but it had hot water. We'll be back and will stay longer!

This castle is exactly what we expected and wanted! The location and character of the castle is perfect. The common areas are lovely and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the tower rooms. The view from the towers is beautiful. We took a hike and loved being in the country side. Some reviews stated that there were a lot of stairs...yes, there are some stairs but not nearly what we expected after reading reviews. There were 4 of us all 64 years old and we had no problems with the stairs. There is a kitchen and washer and dryer. We stayed here in the middle of our 2 week tour of Scotland so washing clothes was an added plus.

This is a place I would love to visit again. I can not recommend the tower rooms enough. All of us said we would have enjoyed staying longer.

Glengorm Castle Tower Rooms were a highlight of our trip.

We stayed at Glengorm Castle as a family two adults ( parents ) and two young adult daughters.
The whole experience was really good. The castle is beautiful, and yet welcoming and relaxed. We stayed in the tower rooms which were fantastic. The walks around the area are lovely. Breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Our only regret is that we didn't plan for a longer stay.
