Nestled in woodland just a few miles inland from the wonderfully rugged and sandy coast of the Pembrokeshire National Park, this pretty cluster of whitewashed stone and Welsh slate cottages are a haven of family-friendly tranquillity. The handy list of nursery kit, play area and clutch of friendly farm animals makes them especially well suited to families with little ones, whilst theres a warm welcome for the family pet too.

The 32-acre estate is home to just five cottages so, even when fully booked, often the only time you'll catch sight of other guests is during one of the regular animal feeding and egg collecting sessions. These have toddlers squealing with delight as they experience real life 'Old MacDonald's farm' and are invited to collect eggs or hand feed the friendly brood of chickens, pigs, donkeys, rabbits and guinea pigs. Apart from that, Fron Fawr is best described as a fabulously tranquil slice of rural life, only a short drive from the coast, and the perfect place to let little ones roam free. Plus, for those parents who still hanker after a bit of romance, there's little to beat cosying up in the hot tub under the blanket of stars the almost zero light pollution allows for... keeping one ear out for the baby monitor of course

Accommodation overview

Glydwr (sleeps 8): is perfect for multi family groups with spacious living areas and 4 well sized bedrooms. Guests enter in a hallway which leads to a handy cloakroom, perfect for kicking off muddy wellies and a downstairs bathroom with WC. Off the hall also lies the large dining/breakfast kitchen which is well equipped for families with a range cooker with 7 ring gas hob and electric ovens along with a full size fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The wood beamed sitting room is accessed from the kitchen up six small wooden steps. The room is perfect for relaxing and winding down after a busy day of exploring with a cosy log burner, flat screen Freeview TV and DVD player. Patio door lead out onto a pretty pergola covered terrace with hot tub and private, enclosed garden safe for little ones to roam free.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom with superking, canopied bed, wash-hand basin and LCD TV to watch DVDs in bed (no external aerial for TV channels); another double bedroom with wash/hand basin; a twin bedroom and a bunkbed room with 2ft 6 wide beds loved by children but sturdy enough for the 'young at heart', even if a little cosy. There is also a family shower room with WC.

Located in the beautiful rolling countryside in the Preseli foothills of North Pembrokeshire, Fron Fawr's Glyndwr Cottage is in an optimal location for exploring the surrounding countryside, for visiting the nearby coastal resorts of North Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire and for viewing the River Teifi attractions at Cilgerran, Cenarth and Cardigan. There are also many countryside and riverside walks. The accommodation is spacious, well provided for, with a large living room and with an excellent modern kitchen/dining area. The beds were comfortable and with additional bunks and a cot for the children. The additional attractions at Fron Fawr included the farm animals- sheep, alpacas, pigs and chickens. These and the children's playground area and children's toys provided much entertainment for the younger guests.

Had a great stay and the kids enjoyed all amenities and especially the farm animals. Lots of games available and space to wonder. Spacious bathtub and very accessible.
Kitchen had all utilities needed.
The broadband could be improved but we've enjoyed the quiet.

Overall it's a great place to stay!

Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Glyndwr. A spacious, warm and extremely well equipped house that has stacks of land around it for dogs and children to explore.
A beautiful hamper was provided with lots of yummy local produce and even Christmas presents under a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The kids loved it.
Only thing we would have changed was for there to be lots of wood for the fire instead of having to ask for it all the time. Otherwise it was beautiful x
