A pretty three bedroom cottage at Lower Aylescott where you can enjoy landscaped gardens and onsite fishing.

The cottage was nice, but dark inside always needed a light on in kitchen, very clean and comfortable beds very comfy only downside no mop and bucket no vacuum cleaner, nowhere to hang damp coats or damp towels, could do with some hooks at the back of the doors in bedrooms, but still enjoyed our stay.

We had everything we needed at the cottage & the owners were there in a heartbeat if we wanted any information at all. The concrete steps down to the patio area may be a challenge for a toddler but there aren’t many. I was very happy to learn that access to the lake was through several gates and so not accessible to our child. We found the cottage spotless. Such a lovely spot and glad we found it. We would come again.

Cottages were in a quiet and family friendly location. Always warm with plenty of hot water, but wouldn't describe as cosy. The lounge was a little oddly configured due to a large load bearing beam. We felt it needed more soft furnishings and some side tables. The kitchen was pretty well equipped with good pans and knives. Oven and hob in good working order but quite slow. Great to have a dishwasher. Lots to do locally. Really enjoyed our holiday. Many thanks!

Due to the atrocious weather from Friday evening arrival until departure on Tuesday morning it is difficult to give a fair assessment. The cottage was nice and comfortable for our party of four adults, I appreciate that Covid 19 cleaning precautions meant that it took longer to prepare the cottage but as guests have to depart by 9 a.m. on their last day I thought 5pm was late to gain access especially as you are paying for the night. The cottage was 3 bedroom and accommodation for 6 people, but, with only 1 bathroom/toilet better for 4 guests max.
We managed to fish the lakes on two days but apart from 3 bream (max 2lb each) only very small Rudd and Roach caught on bread and sweet corn no sign of any carp. I would say however that it was heavy rain and temperature was only about 10 degrees.

Really nice cottage, has everything that you need for a comfortable stay, the owners are very friendly and helpful.
Its a great spot if you love the countryside and its got a nice fishing lake, they have recently added a large deck area by the stream which is a nice touch.
Well placed for travel to the local coast line.

We had an excellent week in the Duror Cottage, enhanced with fantastic weather. Facilities in the cottage were very good, and we enjoyed the fishing and were more successful in the smaller second pond! The location was very quiet and peaceful, and would definitely look to book again in the near future.

Comfortable well equipped cottage in a peaceful location.
Duror cottage is perfectly situated within a short drive to all the stunning Devon coastal villages and beaches and makes a perfect base for exploring the area.
The fishing lake on site is beautiful and well stocked with carp, rudd and roach and whilst we had no children with us, the play area provides a lovely space for children to run off steam.
The Crown Inn is a short walk along the lane to the village serving delicious meals and is well worth a visit.
