The Linhay cottage at Wheel Farm, was a perfect base for our family holiday, a fantastic location, very high standard of accommodation, set on lovely grounds, with a wonderful indoor pool on site. The owners made us feel very welcomed and we will be returning next year. Many thanks.
What a great couple of days by the sea, the shepherds hut was perfect, the weather was perfect and facilities 10/10!
We had a lovely relaxing week in this beautiful, well equipped accommodation. Home from home springs to mind, but with amazing quiet countryside and breathtaking beaches nearby. Everything we could have asked for.
After having had our holiday to Portugal scuppered, I went about trying to find an alternative. I spent most of the day searching the internet to no avail. Of course, everywhere's going to be booked! No one can travel abroad. What was I thinking? The Sun and the stars or whatever the saying is must have all been in alignment for me that day. I spotted Diana's Cottage. It looked perfect! After emailing My Favourite Cottages. The lovely Amanda replied within the hour. Happily, As the cottage was new to the market it was available, we were going to be Diana's Cottage's first official Guests. We...more
Well what can I say...absolutely perfect little spot...tranquil peaceful beautiful surroundings...the cottage was just as expected...the garden had parking and a little seating area for outside dining...sadly the weather was not so beautiful but none the less enjoyable break away...definitely recommend and will be staying in future...the hosts very welcoming and our lab enjoyed his stay too with his own little wooden bed...!
We had a fantastic experience staying at Ford Hill Cottage. Everything was of high quality and very comfortable and the games room was a brilliant addition for all ages. We would highly recommend this venue to others - a tranquil location in easy reach of fabulous beaches.
We booked the Park View Farmhouse for a week in November for 2 couples and absolutely loved it. Being autumn, the weather was mixed but the comfort of the cottage was a blessing on rainy days. This 4-bedroom house was beautifully furnished and to a high standard, having being recently refurbished. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and we found some lovely welcoming presents (A bottle of chilled Prosecco, local fudge, fresh flowers, tea, coffee). The layout was perfect for us and had lots of indirect light (candles) for a very cosy atmosphere. We cooked most days and we were pleased to...more
Me and my family had a fabulous week at the wheel cottage farm. We will definitely be revisiting! Such a lovely place and lovely people!
Lots to do, hotel was very accommodating visited Barnstaple, Westward Ho and Lynmouth! +Tennis/golf
We were lucky to get this booking following a cancellation and enjoyed our week there. The location is excellent, overlooking the beach and the town. Whilst there are 4 rentals on the same property, we had no problems with parking or with even generally seeing the other guests. Once inside, everything was clean and well kept, with everything we needed. The barbecue and hot tub certainly saw some use as we relaxed watching the sunset. We would happily stay again if we return to the area. Finally, the service from the team and the correspondence was excellent making everything run very smoothly.
From the first step into Seaweed, we felt welcomed. The house was bright and sunny and the “welcome”gifts were a lovely surprise Even our little dog was made comfortable with a basket, rug and biscuits The basic shops and pubs and fish and chips were all a few steps away and the lovely beach and beautiful sunsets. Lots of pleasant walks and Hangman Hill to give you a good workout
I enjoyed a lovely stay at Wheel Farm Cottages. The Cottage itself was very comfortable and in an idyllic setting with plenty of space to roam around outside. The swimming pool was brilliant, and shallow enough at one end for my 5 year old to stand up, which made things a lot more relaxing for me! The location of the cottages is really good - it is within a very short drive of several villages, towns and beautiful beaches. We enjoyed days out to Combe Dinosaur and Wildlife Park, Woolacombe beach, Combe Martin beach, Ilfracombe (where we went on a boat trip to see seals) and Clovelly, and n...more
House was beautiful. Very well equipped and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Had some lovely meals in the huge dining room. We really enjoyed using the hot tub and pool table. Spacious grounds with a secret gate to Lydford Gorge. Lots of lovely local walks and wonderful scenery.
We had a wonderful family holiday in the Exmoor Farmhouse. It is in the most incredibly peaceful location with glorious views. The house is huge with plenty of space for everyone. It is full of beautiful paintings and very comfortable. It has a large kitchen and dining room which were perfect for family meals. An ideal location for large groups of family or friends wanting to explore Exmoor.
Every single one of us loved staying in the house, it was beautifully decorated and well equipped for all our needs. The garden and veranda areas was perfect for bbqs, quiet drinks and yoga with the sunrise. Internally the bedrooms were comfy, cost and the downstairs area was perfect for chilling and dining, the kitchen had everything we needed - it was well stocked. The location was ideal as it was close to Braunton with many shops, takeaways and coffee pick ups. We also spent alot of time at Saunton Sands which was just down the road, which is a great surf beach. Thank you for accommodating ...more
Sians little touches when you arrive is excellent. The grounds are lovely and very tranquil watching the wild life was interesting. We would certainly go again if we wish to go back to the area.
My two girl friends and I stayed at the Seaglass Cottage for a week beginning of June. The property was immaculate, incredibly clean and well equipped it was an absolute joy to stay there. The whole process from booking to arriving was seamless...we are looking to book our next trip already we had such fun!
Very attractive complex in a discreet but accessible location. Although fully booked the site was never overcrowded. Once you got to grips with the location it proved to be an ideal centre for touring around and discovering North Devon.
This cottage is so well designed, stylish and comfortable, we just loved it. The terrace is a perfect spot for gathering outdoors. The hot tub was popular every day. But best of all was the totally wonderful, restful, beautiful view. We are so glad we chose this lovely cottage - best place weve found in years!
A fantastic holiday in beautiful surroundings. The pool and gardens were Great. Great location for beaches and activities.
Lovely cottage in beautiful location Have booked it again very comfortable and clean and detached ..
We had a wonderful break at Wheel Farm. The accommodation was absolutely spotless which is particularly reassuring in these Covid times. The onsite amenities are excellent. Our children especially loved the pool and the play area. The cottages are very well located for local beaches, towns and National Trust properties. We found plenty to occupy us for a week! My only criticism of the accommodation was that there could have been a larger amount of crockery. There were only four plates, cups, bowls etc which meant we were constantly having to put the dishwasher on. An extra few bits of cro...more
Had a lovely stay in the main farmhouse, 12 extended family for 40th birthday. The house is very well equipped and Cathy was very helpful. Highly recommend Higher Mullacott Farm, great location for exploring North Devon.
We had a very pleasant stay during Covid and school holidays. Everything was well prepared when we arrived and every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable despite the restraints. The farmhouse has all the amenities you could want both inside and out, including its own washing machine and tumble dryer, garden and parking spaces outside (but would just recommend you take your own non-stick frying pan). The beds were all very comfortable and we loved the log fire, especially as it was a bit rainy that week and the fire made us very cosy. The farmhouse is a good size for up to 8 but ...more
An absolutely stunning, luxurious and spacious property with incredible coastal views and only five minutes walk to the beach. Perfect for our family of five adults and five grandchildren aged 5-10. Owners have put so much care and attention into every detail to make it a truly wonderful holiday home. The hot tub was a huge hit as was toasting marshmallows on the fire pit at the end of each day! Yes, there are steps to the property but so worth it for the views. Car parking on a private road a real bonus as was easy access to shops and restaurants. Already booked to return but not surprisingly...more
A lovely stay...just one or two details- a dryer would be a bonus as would some plastic plates and tumblers for children to use. The towel rail in the main bathroom wasn’t working(we had to use the other one to air some washing as we couldn’t get radiators to work either). Excellent to have downstairs toilet and separate utility room. Comfortable furniture and beds.
The Tallet was very homely and welcoming, we really enjoyed the hot tub and garden patio. Could do with less noise from the family's adjoining garden in the morning as we were on 'holiday time' so not looking to wake up early.
We had a lovely time at Nuide House. The house was spacious yet cosy and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The bottles of Prosecco on arrival were particularly well appreciated! Thanks for everything!
Tigh na Ault cottage is one of the best cottages we have stayed in, clean warm well equipped and very welcoming. It has the most spectacular views with being situated on the hillside. Peace and tranquillity abundant wild life and plenty of lovely walks. This was the perfect holiday for us and I would definitely recommend this cottage for exploring the highlands.I celebrated a special Birthday there and on walking into the kitchen on the day of arrival was greeted with a Birthday card a bottle of wine and some delicious shortbread which was a lovely gesture, very thoughtful and kind, we had a v...more
We had an excellent stay in dolly’s barn, beautiful house and grounds. Location on busy road so would be unsuitable to walk or cycle anywhere nearby. Owners of the house on site who were very friendly and welcoming. The grounds for children are fantastic. My favourite cottages a third party agent who we booked through weren’t the most helpful and I felt like a burden if I had any questions so wouldn’t recommend using them. Go direct if you can.
Aggie’s Cottage is absolutely amazing ... very clean and comfortable ... the vintage decor is beautiful ... everything we needed. The location for Ilfracombe and Woolacombe is perfect for the beach and walks. The owners were friendly and helpful.
This was a lovely comfortable first floor apartment with a beautiful garden to share with the other guests. The apartment is immaculate and well equipped with all you could want for your stay. The owners were welcoming and helpful providing advice for places to visit in the area. The farm is only a short 2/3 mile walk into Combe Martin but it is down a very long and steep hill. We did do this walk and then returned by taxi as advised by the owners which worked out well. There are lots of lovely places to visit within an hour's drive including beautiful beaches, the South west coastal path and ...more
The flat was well appointed and in an incredible position. Jenny was so helpful and even sent us pictures of the surf conditions!
Beautiful house in a stunning location really peaceful with a very relaxing atmosphere. A very friendly welcome from Jean who shared some of her knowledge about the house and the village with us. Hope to return in the future
We SO enjoyed our stay here!! The cottage is in a super location and is furnished with everything you might need. A tranquil and beautiful spot. All COVID safe. Nice pool an advantage too. Thank you!!
The farmhouse is 10-15minutes drive to Croyde and Woolacombe. Extremely clean. Lovely garden. Very remote, you must have a car, but this made it peaceful and safe for the children to play. Would highly recommend.
Exceptional cottage, spacious with high quality fixtures and fittings. With beautiful views and close to all amenities. Dog friendly and safe with an enclosed garden. Plenty of parking just outside.
Cottage exceeded our expectations, great accommodation, well equipped kitchen, lovely conservatory. Garden was a delight. Our only complaints were:- Heating-New electric heating system, but we were unable to control it, as the controls were locked. Came off and on, but never when you wanted it. Kitchen and dining room were permanently cold. It was an exceptionally cold week. Outdoor seating would have benefited from recliners and cushions for the garden chairs. Otherwise we couldn’t fault it, although you are a few miles from any amenities so bring provisions for your first night at least.
A beautiful property in the heart of the countryside. Very clean and homely. Pretty garden and great little swimming pool. Great for dogs and kids and owners very friendly and helpful.
The house is fantastic for a family holiday-lots of room (six adults, one child, one dog) and great lay out upstairs and down. Garden beautiful, and thank you for the extras in the garden house. Perfect position-200yds to shop, village with pub, and 15’ walk to the most gorgeous beach (estuary and sea) past drivers queuing! Thank you. We will be back.
It is a quaint cottage set in the most magical setting where time slows to allow a complete recharge of yourself. It really is rural but never far from a maddening crowd whenever you want to step into either the local towns or incredible coastline walks and towns that are dotted along the Jurassic coastline
We have stayed at fairways East before some years ago it did not disappoint, house lovely plenty of space very clean, plenty of equipment in the house, we ate in the hotel each night food was fab Staff very friendly, we had b fast also on our departure date lovely but pricy for what you got, the facilities are excellent at Highbullen under normal non COVID circumstances billiards, outdoor pool to cold now though, golf, Simulator, surrounding area is very remote the tight lanes are fun, Lovely for walks though
A lovely place to have a vacation. Peaceful but within walking distance of Braunton which has excellent restaurants and shops. There was a lovely surprise in the fridge on our arrival, a delicious cream tea. Just the ticket after a long journey. We met the owner too who is a very nice man and very helpful. We also met Natasha who takes care of housekeeping and again a lovely person who is extremely kind and helpful.
The cottage was well equipped and in a lovely location. Lots of activities. My main criticism is slow, albeit friendly, customer service. The golf course could also do with attention.
We stayed for a few nights in October and had a very enjoyable time. It’s a nice little place tucked well away in the countryside and the hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. Would highly recommend this place for a couple wishing to explore the east/ south Devon area.
This is a lovely house for a family, in a great position for the beach. Such a pity there are not footpaths into the village - with children, you take your life in your hands having to walk up the sides of the road. The house was generally clean, although the cafetière was most definitely not, and other items were found dirty - those items not put through the dishwasher between guests, are meant to have been hand washed by the cleaners, but we are certain that had not been done. The house is meant to sleep up to 8 people, in 4 bedrooms. We never had more than 6 there, but there was not...more
Being in a listed building, the flat is more interesting than often is the case, The location is excellent, with splendid views from the sitting room and terrace that provided hours of gentle relaxation, The fixtures and fittings are fine and comfortable, although constrained to some extent by the fact the building is listed. Having three good pubs within a hundred yards is a bonus, as is falling out of the front door with the dog onto the beach and coast path. My only criticism would be despite a plethora of glasses in the flat, we were unable to find two reasonable wine glasses - and the fla...more
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. The pictures don't do the cottage justice! The views were amazing, and it was very peaceful. It's a good location, about 1/2 hour to all of the north Devon beaches. Bianca was very helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend.
Lovely cottage in a lovely setting. Spoilt slightly by the children being unable to use the garden. The grass had lots of dog poo in it, either from previous occupants or from the adjoining cottage that shared the garden.
See above A very nice house in a beautiful location with a stunning view. We very much enjoyed our stay.
This was our 2nd stay at Oyster Cove and already thinking about our 3rd stay! It had everything we needed ( apart from the weather this time). Lovely having extra beds for our family to join us for a few nights. Garden was great size and caught the sun in the morning by the decking outside the living room and then in the evening by the bbq area. Perfect location only 10 min walk to beach along quiet lanes avoiding the main road.
Loved our stay! Cottage was perfect for our needs. Exmoor was gloriously awash with autumn colour. Many thanks for all
Lovely property. Very well furnished with everything you could possibly need and comfortable beds. Welcome cake and wine left which was a lovely surprise and much enjoyed! Plenty of outdoor space. Would definitely book again. Due to COVID arrival and departure times were different to usual.., arriving at 5pm. Departure by 9am. This was the only thing we’d change. Everything else was perfect. Thank you!
A beautiful peaceful location just outside Axminster. The accommodation provided everything needed for the perfect get-away.
The location is fantastic, but it’s a real shame that you can’t appreciate it from inside the property really, I would definitely be installing glazed patio doors in the lounge if it was my property and switching the master bedroom and kitchen over. Beware if you have a large wide car as the drive entrance is extremely tight. The property was spacious, clean and well equipped, but missing a hairdryer. The property is adequate, but is old and could do with updating but it was what I was expecting from the photos. It does have the advantage of a the rear garden which was lovely. Also be awa...more
10 of us (6 plus 4 kids) enjoyed family holiday in this well equipped house. Garden was great too. Wi-intermittently working. No facility for recycling waste. Contrary to advice there is no facility at nearby Morrisons (Newquay) and no facility for collection. We ended up going to the council recycling centre. I am sure some guests would resort to putting in the general waste. For these reasons would say 8 out of 10.
We were very happy with our stay in Stag lodge. We wanted to mountain bike near the Torridon area so this cottage was perfect for our needs. We loved the drying room and access to a washer and a dryer. The house is situated above a main road but we didn’t notice the traffic and the view from the living room was brilliant.
I will never stay again due to the Owner not being very welcoming on arrival he was more concerned about the bins etc. We didn’t like the fact that in the living room an adjoining door allowed access by the owner so didn’t feel comfortable about this. Also because of two kittens We couldn’t let our dog of the lead near The cottage. This was not mentioned prior booking up. Also we had to buy a frying pan as the one we replace was unsatisfactory. The carpet was in poor condition. Otherwise the location was excellent. Too bad about the very narrow country lanes.
