grill pan left in a disgusting state in the oven upon arrival. Stain on pillowcase and outside terrace steps covered in leaves potentially slippy if wet. Spiral staircase more tricky than expected.But,. Overall a fabulous holiday and the issues raised should easily be rectified.

Beautiful view, lovely town, great base for hiking South West Coastal Path and Exmoor National Park, spiral staircase was fine for us, but could be a challenge for people with mobility issues, be ready for climbing lots of hills. :)

I especially appreciated all the books with details on trails in the area. We used those to plan many of our days.

We probably chose the wettest week ever for our holiday to Lynton so our first impressions of Coachman's Quarters were not great. To avoid getting drenched we used the kitchen entrance at the bottom of the property accessed past all the bins for the whole building. The kitchen was dark and slightly damp smelling but beautifully fitted out and immaculately clean.

The spiral staircase to the bedroom floor is very narrow and it's quite a challenge carrying things up. The bedroom and bathroom again are very pleasant and clean but no view from the window.

Going up a second normal staircase brings you to the lounge with glazed doors leading outside. To our huge disappointment we found there were no views from this room either. We thought the advertising photos showing the terrific view were very misleading. You have to go out of the doors up yet more metal stairs to reach a path which takes you to a terrace area which indeed has wonderful views towards the sea. In one of the photos it shows a table set out for a meal with the view beyond, the idea of carrying food up all those stairs is frankly laughable.

Having said that we did have a lovely week in Lynton and the property is very handy for the town centre with all its cafés and restaurants.

The Coachman's Quarters is in a great location, with shops and restaurants in Lynton on the doorstep. It's also right by the zig zag path down to Lynmouth (quite a steep climb back up but there is the cliff railway!) and by the path towards valley of the rocks. The best thing about the place is the private terrace looking out over the sea. We ate almost every meal up there! It is a bit of a walk from the kitchen with food and drink (narrow spiral staircase, another staircase and then steps up from the living room door) but it is absolutely worth it. The house has been beautifully refurbished with a modern feel, and it was really nice and clean. We had a lovely relaxing week exploring the local area - didn't need to use the car at all. Would definitely recommend!

Thoroughly recommend this holiday cottage; it was super clean, very quiet, had everything you could possibly need and although it is located behind the main house it had its own terrace to enjoy the stunning views.

The spiral stairs are a consideration prior to booking but this is highlighted in the information provided. My husband and I managed fine and these added to the general quirkiness of the cottage.

Lynton and the surrounding villages, combined with such stunning coastal scenery offers so much. We had a fabulous week, enjoyed the many walks so didn't need to use the car very much, felt relaxed and refreshed... didn't want to leave

A very pleasant cottage in the heart of Lynton. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The terrace has a lovely view. As described its very quirky.

Close to food shops, takeouts & bus stop I didn't use the car all week, very relaxing.

Very well equipped cottage, with a fabulous view from the upper terrace. Very clean, great location. But not suitable (as they state) for anyone with limited mobility as there are 3 sets of stairs one of them being a narrow spiral staircase to the kitchen. No sea views from inside property. Perfect for a couple, easy walk to funicular railway and so nice restaurants and right on the coastal path and an easy walk to the Valley of the Rocks.
Kitchen is on lower level so if you wish to eat on the terrace you will have to carry everything up 3 flights of stairs, which we did by using a large shopping bag. Could have done with some blankets for the terrace, seat cushions as well but I believe not having these was to do with Covid.

A really Quirky cottage in a lovely part of north Devon. The accommodation ranged over 3 floors and yes the spiral staircase was a challenge initially but I see there was no other way to utilise those floors. The kitchen was very well kitted out.
Good to have the two entrance option too

Lovely spot, the quirky accommodation has been well thought out with everything you might need provided. With the terrace lighting & as it is sheltered it can be enjoyed on a overcast evening. Lynton is the perfect spot with places to see / walks from the town as well as the perfect base to see north Devon & Exmoor. I would certainly recommend!

We have just returned from a lovely week at the Coachman's Quarters. This has been equipped with everything you would need. Dishwasher, washing machine (with clothes airer and folding laundry basket), plenty of cooking implements to cook up a storm. In a great location to join the South West coastal path or stroll around the corner to the local mini markets/butchers for food, close to the top of the cliff railway but very secure with the coded gate lock. The terrace was a lovely sheltered spot to look out over the bay. Netflix on the TV was an added bonus and the reclining sofa was divine! The spiral staircase down to the kitchen was quite steep but we soon got used to it and were running up and down it like mountain goats.

There were loads of local guidebooks and maps and also plenty of fiction novels to read if you have the time.
