Well out of the way, a relaxing break. Village shop and pub a credit to the residents. 25 minutes to a choice of beaches. Give it a go!!

Very peaceful location yet also handy for half a dozen seaside destinations

Quiet, peaceful location with a very large grassy area for children to play plus a well built play area well away from the cottages so as not to disturb other guests.
Our cottage "lake view" was very roomy with ensuite double and two other very roomy twin bedrooms which shared a large bathroom with bath and separate shower etc.
Lounge and dining/kitchen were very roomy. The kitchen was well equipped with a lot of worktop space with fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. Lounge was spacious with three two seater settees. Televisions in the lounge and all three bedrooms.
Outside was a large terrace (the whole length of the cottage) with a six seater table and chairs with parasol with views over the lawns, playground and lakes. Two of the bedrooms had direct door access to the terrace.
I made use of the fishing lakes which are securely gated (double sets of gates) for the protection of children. The lakes are ideal for teaching children fo fish as using maggot or almost any small bait resulted in a small roach or rudd almost every cast. I do very little fishing except when on holiday and only fished for an hour or two each day and managed to catch a carp about two pounds in weight, plus quite a few rudd and roach every day up to about half a pound each.
Access is down quite narrow country lanes the site is probably best approached from the Braunton to Ilfracombe road. A car is probably essential to reach the site.
There is a small village shop and a pub less than five minutes away by car, and a large Tesco about ten minutes away. Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Coombe Martin and the lovely village of Berrynarbor (with pub) are all between 15 and 20 minutes away, Lynton and Lynmouth are about thirty minutes. There is a large restaurant/pub less than 10 minutes away.
The owners who live on site are very helpful.

This was a last minute booking for us and what a gem it was to find. Stunning surroundings, so peaceful, the play area was open and was perfect for my 7 and 8 year olds. Just 15 minutes to Woolacombe, plenty to do in the area. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend.

These cottages are in a perfect location with a community shop, pub, restaurant and places to visit very close by. We stayed in Lake View Cottage. A very spacious property with a great view and easy access to the fishing lake. The rooms were clean and spacious with comfy beds and plenty of seating, although a coffee table would have been a bonus. The kitchen is well equipped for a weeks holiday. The cottages are reached by narrow country lanes so be prepared to meet oncoming farm traffic! There are several steps down to the properties and no direct parking outside Lake View which was a bit of a bind. All in all we would recommend these for cottages for their close proximity to all that North Devon has to offer.

Lakeside cottage is reached by a long and winding country lane. The views are beautiful and there is a lake for fishing, our friend caught quite a few fish. Its very quiet and peaceful. There is also a well equipped play area for children set a short distance from the cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and has all mod cons. The Crown Inn West Down is a 15 min walk away and offered very reasonable food. Braunton has lots of restaurants, our favourite was the French Corner Bistro. I would recommend Fliers taxi's if you don't want to drive. Very reliable.
Ilfracombe tunnels worth a visit, lovey beeches at Woolacombe, Saunton and Crowd.
Lynton and Lymouth is a must, very quaint and unspoilt.
Great golf at Saunton Sands and Royal North Devon, West wood ho
Thanks to Janine and James the owners who were very helpful, we certainly enjoyed our stay.

Easy access to North Devon coast. Lane to cottages narrow but no problem with adequate parking; although distance from car to Lake View for unloading & loading not particularly easy. The patio area and view of lake with play area in distance is excellent. Larger fridge/freezer needed in Lake View especially with a family of 6 staying for a week's self catering, but I think this may be addressed in the future? Thoroughly enjoyable, comfortable week especially with fantastic weather!
