A charming cottage set apart from the other cottages but with all the same shared facilities (games barn, fishing, swimming, tennis etc.) a short walk away across the farm. The Lodge, surrounded by beautiful bluebell woods and pathways, has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and dining and living areas, and it sleeps up to 4 people.

Measures have been taken to ensure this cottage is suitable for people with restricted mobility. Please contact the owner prior to booking if you have any special requirements or requests. We will do all we can to help.

Friendly, helpful hosts, excellent facilities on site, we love having the pool to ourselves for an hour every day, the buildings are part of history and staying in the old gatehouse was a real treat although the kitchen and bathroom have been modernised the surrounding garden and woods are very traditional. Deer, rabbits and a,black cat all,came to our,door for a visit. Good location for visiting the Broads. Norwich and the coast.Can't wait to return.

We loved our time at The Lodge. The huge private sunny garden was amazing and filled with flowers and nature. We loved the relaxed sunny breakfasts outside and walks from the door. The sofas were comfy. The kitchen was new and lovely and the place felt like an olde worlde cottage taking you back to an era of living simply. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts who were very friendly and quick to respond to a minor bathroom issue. The onsite facilities are marvellous and the hosts very accommodating of us and helping us with cycle routes, beaches, etc. the swimming pool was warm, clean, easy to book and easy to find, very short drive around the corner. The boys loved the darts, pool table and table tennis. This is our second stay (the first at Pond Cottage without the dog). We would definitely return.

We have stayed at the farm eight times over the last 15 years, each time we have visited Norfolk from South Carolina. When given the choice, our grandchildren always want to stay at the farm. We have stayed in Swallows, Pond and the Lodge, and love them all. The location is wonderful for visits into Norwich via the Park and Ride at the airport and also easy access by car to the coast and North Norfolk. The Cook family are caring and hospitable hosts, and go out of their way to take care of their guests. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

I live in Spixworth and have always been intrigued by the Lodge, so it was great to actually stay there and finally be able to explore it. It exceeded my expectations as I had no idea how beautiful the garden is and how the woodland wraps around it. The Lodge itself is also totally beautiful inside and out with a great layout. I loved the garden room which is where we spent most of our time. If there is one negative it is very close to a busy road, however, I was pleasantly surprised at how little you could hear it, particularly when sitting in the garden room. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Fantastic site if you like a rural location but easy access to a Norwich or the coast. Cottage was just what we hoped for with well fitted modern kitchen. Surrounding grounds beautiful. Cottage comfortable, but could do with newer furnishings.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful and were so kind. Nothing too much trouble. Recommend highly.

Love visiting the lodge. It's our home from home now . Owners are welcoming, the Lodge is always clean and well kept despite being 150 years old. Love the walks in the woods and the deer that even come into the garden. A peaceful place to stay but very close to the city too. We will be back soon for our 9th visit

This was my 2nd stay at this property and it is very comfortable with everything you need for a short break. The cottage is cosy and warm and in a good location to get out and about.
The hosts are helpful, but leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet (although it is next to a main road, so expect some traffic noise at peak times).

This place suited us down to the ground: the location is near our friends in Norwich, the cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, surrounded by footpaths for dog walks, and the swimming pool was a treat (the booking system meant that it was really private and peaceful). We visit the Spixworth area several times a year to see family who live close by and The Lodge fits our requirements exactly. Its cosy, comfy and warm. Set in a beautiful area with woodlands to walk and yet close to amenities too. we always enjoy our visits. The Lodge has everything we need, comfy beds, plenty of space and a breakfast room that is a pleasure to sit in. We watch the birds, squirrels, rabbits and even a deer once came to visit. The kitchen is well appointed with fridge, freezer, dishwasher and even a washing machine. The owners are always on hand for any queries ( we once got the car stuck in the mud and the staff were very helpful getting us unstuck!}, Totally recommend Spixworth Hall Cottages for visitors to Norwich and Norfolk area.

There is nothing I can say bad about this place. A beautiful location. peaceful and well presented. The house has everything that you need for self catering. The location is peaceful, waking up to the sound of birds instead of the noise of the city. This place is highly recommended, I would go back again.

A lovely private cottage in a wonderful location. Woodland/field walks on the doorstep, with the use of a pool. It was lovely to see the horses around the farm.

The Lodge was lovely, it was warm and cosy and well equipped. This was a special place for me to stay, as my Nanna had lived here with her family when her dad was a gardener on the estate c 1901-1914.

We loved walking through the extensive grounds of the estate and through the neighbouring countryside.

The family and staff who run the cottages are very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Just returned from spending a week at this beautiful cottage. On our arrival we were welcomed by Sheelah who kindly gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. A lovely touch was the milk,tea,coffee and biscuits which were much appreciated after our long journey. The cottage is lovely and comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Although it was February the cottage was warm and cosy. The gardens are just beautiful and join the woods where you can walk for miles. It really is in a beautiful setting. Local shops are just a few minutes drive. I would not hesitate to rebook and look forward to visiting again in the near future.

We chose to stay at the lodge as it is close to family (5mins), and we had previously stayed at one of the main cottages for a wedding 2 years ago.

Cosy and homely, with friendly hosts. Very eclectic mix of furniture and decor in keeping with rustic nature of Lodge. Overall quite clean but needed to re run a hoover over the rug as appeared some pet hair (wouldn't be noticeable to a couple but we had a newly crawling baby!!). Ideal for short break away.

We stayed during the autumn half term holiday. My parents, husband, myself and our young dog Eilidh.
The communication and the attention to specific requests was A*
The Lodge felt instantly homely and had so many thoughtful touches.
It is near to the main road so you do hear traffic but it isn't too intrusive.
The garden is beautiful and we loved watching the squirrels as we ate breakfast.
Woodland walks lead straight from the lodge which we all really enjoyed.
Most places that we wanted to go to were within a 30-40 minute drive.
Cromer, Yarmouth etc.
Norwich is easy to access and the broads are nearby to enjoy a stroll or hire a boat.

Third time staying at Spixworth Hall, second time in Lodge Cottage. Convenient for Norwich, The Broads and the coast. Beautiful little cottage. Used the outdoor pool twice - even without scorching weather was lovely and warm, and useful for helping our daughter to learn to swim. Friends spotted our Facebook posts - and are planning to book!
No complaints at all.

V comfortable well equipped cottages. Great to have the makings of hot drinks & sweet treats to greet us. Lovely to have personal welcome & goodbye.

Heated outdoor pool was terrific, with really good & fair booking system. Tennis court & games barn are great extras.

Good location for visiting many Norfolk attractions. We'll be returning.

After the long winter months of continuous lockdowns we booked the Lodge cottage for a 4-night getaway from London with the kids. Everything was wonderful and the owner Sheelah was really accomodating and made us feel very welcome. We explored the surrounding areas over the day and came back to the cottage for a nice warm fire in the evening. Everything was great and we can't wait to book another trip to Spixworth in the future.

Despite Covid etc, our family stay at The Lodge cottage was wonderful. The cottage was well located just outside the Northern Relief Road in its own well kept garden, with easy access to supermarkets and Norwich city centre. Being able to come back to such a relaxing base after our otherwise very relaxed holiday in Norfolk was a delight.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Lodge. The cottage had everything we needed and was set in lovely gardens inside a much larger area of woodlands and fields. We were handily placed to visit Norwich but also the Broads and North Norfolk.The lodge is set away from the rest of the cottages on the estate so is great if you want peace and quiet.

Great location. The Lodge is ideal for a family of 4 with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Lovely garden surrounded by trees. In the evening the deer come to the edge of the garden and if you are quiet they stay a little while eating. You have the use of the playbarn and a swimming pool which are bonus points.
