Fabulous location, with wonderful views and farmland and woodland walks. Great facilities for visitors, very comfortable and charming cottages...(and I have holidayed in all of them over the years) a marvellous place to stay and a really helpful hostess, Sheelah Cook. On the edge of Norwich, 30 mins to the beautiful North Norfolk coast....beaches, creeks, RSPB and nature reserves, gardens, National Trust places...everything for everyone. Spixworth Hall Cottages are my favourite places to stay and as always, my stay was too short.
We were 8 adults and 6 children. We loved the beautiful cottage we stayed in which accommodated us perfectly. The peace and beauty of the garden for children and adults to enjoy. Coming back from a day at the beach or visiting another area of Norfolk was lovely as it was so quiet and peaceful. The accommodation had plenty of space for all of us to enjoy and not to get in each other's way. The children loved exploring and going to watch 'Tilly' the horse get ready to go on a hack. The pool was a must for all of us and we thoroughly enjoyed walking through the fields to our swim. Definit...more
There was more than enough space for 3 of us in the cottage and the private garden was an added bonus, there is also ample amounts of outdoor space, we loved seeing the ducks, horses, and other wildlife. It’s also in a great location for plenty of days out, as there’s lots within a short driving distance. The owner was very friendly and is taking the current coronavirus situation very seriously therefore making us feel very safe. We would love to return one day.
We just returned from 3 nights at Waterside Cottage and had a wonderful, relaxing break. Beautiful, peaceful location, close to the Broads. Cottage was spacious, had everything we needed, and Sheelagh, the host, was super-attentive and friendly. Cottage was homely and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay.
After the long winter months of continuous lockdowns we booked the Lodge cottage for a 4-night getaway from London with the kids. Everything was wonderful and the owner Sheelah was really accomodating and made us feel very welcome. We explored the surrounding areas over the day and came back to the cottage for a nice warm fire in the evening. Everything was great and we can't wait to book another trip to Spixworth in the future.
We much appreciated being greeted by Sheelagh on arrival and immediately felt reassured by her responsible approach to COVID requirements. We felt safe. The location is wonderful with easy walking around the farm, easy access to Norwich and the Broards. We had expected to be busy but after a couple of sorties we luxuriated in the peace, sunshine and our books . We got lazier and lazier and blame the air! The Granary was perfect and very well set up as a holiday cottage. As a couple we just used the top bedroom with excellent shower. Downstairs we were able to cook if we wanted to and be inside...more
I love this location and accommodation and return regularly. Nothing needs changing, for me and my family it is perfect.
