We booked a 3 night stay in Fruitpip at the start of 2026. The cottage was very welcoming and homely and had everything you could possibly need. It was a particularly cold time of year (-5 degrees outside) the heating and log burner were on constantly which made for a warm cosy interior. The swimming pool was great and the water was very warm, and lovely and a great place to spend an hour or two!
We visited Bakewell, with it's lovely shops and Matlock/Matlock Bath.
We hope to return in the warmer (spring/summer) months so we can explore the surrounding area in more detail and take full advantage of the facilities, grounds and position of the cottages.

Fruitpip was a very comfortable cottage providing us with easy access to Bakewell, Chatsworth and the wonderful Lathkill Dale. It was the perfect location to base all the walks from Haddon Farm. Despite initial teething trouble in using the induction oven ( quick learning ), the kitchen was adequately equipped for the two of us. After a long walk each day, the power shower in the bathroom was just perfect. And of course there was the heated pool, again a pleasant addition to relax the tired muscles after a long walk.
We loved our stay at Fruitpip and will recommend it to anybody looking for a nice cottage in a pleasant and peaceful surrounding.
And not to forget the very helpful staff. Thank you
