The cottages were in a great location, very quiet but within a short drive to Bakewell. I would describe the Farmhouse as rustic and unloved. The kitchen/dining room was a great size for our party of 23. We were able to join a trestle table from the kitchen to the dining table for us to sit at. The top oven did not work as well as the bottom oven and some of the shelves in the fridge door were missing (probably broken). There was a huge amount of crockery, glasses, cutlery(not teaspoons though), serving dishes and pots/pans. 2 dishwashers made cleaning up easy too. Would like to see a few homely touches like cling film, kitchen roll and tin foil. The front door was difficult to open/close as it was binding on the porch floor. Very comfy mattresses and good supply of towels. The swimming pool and games room was very well used by our group. Several lightbulbs needed replacing. If only it was a little more loved and better quality finishing touches like decent coat hangers, we would not hesitate in returning. We were unable to find the Wi-Fi code in the information folder as the page was missing, but I did have a very quick reply from Sally. Charles in the main office was great in answering any questions and replied very quickly. This was a celebration weekend for my husband’s 65th birthday with ages ranging from 2 - 78 years.
Great family get together before Christmas

Whole family had a great stay - a lovely, warm and cosy Farmhouse. Great pool - very warm and pleasant. Played table tennis too! Tranquil location and beautiful this time of year. Did the Monsal Trail Parkrun on Saturday - lovely and flat! Also did the annual Santa Dash in Longmills on Saturday. Ate at the Packhorse Sunday lunchtime - lots of choices including traditional roast and rather delicious puds.
