Surrounded by countryside with views north to the mountains and the William Wallace Monument the cottage is a great countryside base if you want to visit Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh. It’s a very clean, well maintained and warm property, furnished to a high standard and has a well equipped kitchen. The company managing the property are very helpful and responsive to any queries you may have. It suited our purposes for visiting our son at Stirling University.
We stayed there 6 nights, our first waypoint in Scotland. This apartment is a total escape (also in time). It is even more impressive in reality than on the pictures. It complies with the descriptions, is comfortable, was very clean, and very quiet despite being inside a larger house. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of the charming small garden attached to (but not physically connected with) the apartment. The apartment is really close to the centre and it was very easy and pleasant to go there. There are car parking places in the street but it is pay-and-display. It s possible to...more
We had a fantastic time. Catriona was friendly, helpful and such a fabulous host. Would thoroughly recommend this place for location, quality of finish and excellent accommodation. The lounge/kitchen was an excellent size and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Well equipped we didn’t come across anything that was missed all well thought out and comfortable.
We had a fabulous week in this lovely apartment. So spacious and comfortable for myself, my husband and our 2 adult children. We all experienced a great sleep every night in the most comfortable beds. Kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need. The location is great, and the hotel is only a 5 minute walk away, with all the luxury facilities, which we enjoyed. Auchterarder is a lovely town with nice shops, bars and restaurants too. The host Graeme was so welcoming and left us a lovely basket of goodies on our arrival. Will definitely return.
Had a lovely stay at Harvistoun House, wish we could have spent longer in the area. Was the perfect base for our two families to stay for my cousin's wedding – and a welcome home from home following a 12-hour drive! Everything was just right. If we're ever up that far again, we'd love to return.
We were delighted with the Walmer Apartment and Bridge of Allan was perfect to stay in! There were lovely restaurants and the Main Street was adorable. The Tesco next door was an added bonus, and although the food was a bit more expensive, as is usual with a convenience store, it was such a convenience. The TV was great, the internet speed was fabulous, and all the furnishings were very comfortable. We chose the Stirling area thinking we could hit both Glasgow and Edinburgh via train there. We could not find a suitable place in Stirling, so settled on Bridge of Allan, which was more desirable ...more
It was absolut perfect for us as a group of 3 couples with 3 motorbikes. Towncenter and supermarkets in walking distance. Nice little area with good possibilities for barbeque and having a drink after a long ride.
I stayed here with a friend for three nights in September to attend the crime writing event Bloody Scotland. The place was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. The apartment felt spacious for the two of us and was comfortable to return to after our busy days at the festival. It was also handy being so close to Waitrose to pick up any essentials. Christine couldn’t have been more helpful and was really great at getting back to any messages I sent. She was very friendly and welcoming and even gave me a lift to the station on my last morning. All in all everything worked just as...more
Lovely basement apt. in quiet neighborhood. The location is a perfect walking distance to the castle as well as to restaurants, pubs and stores. Parking off street and a nice terrace garden. The stove needs attention but the owner was receptive and it is probably fixed by now.
The accommodation was excellent and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and, as someone who finds it hard to sleep in strange beds, I had no problems dropping off quickly. The house was very well equipped for our week. Cutlery, crockery etc... all there. Tea and coffee facilities were adequate. And the kitchen was fitted out with every mod con needed. The house was comfortable and clean and very accommodating for our needs. We needed access to the University Campus, and being only a 15 min walk way it was ideal. The surrounding area was very quiet and quite luxurious. So wal...more
Great place to stay in the King’s Park area of Stirling. We prefer this property to several others we have used because of private parking and the shot walk to town.
Besides groceries (if you dine in), nothing is required. This is the perfect rental and is ideal for a base location to explore Scotland. Observe the hares playing on the lawn and the deer visiting regularly. The hostess, Eleanor, is friendly, gracious, and most concerned about her guest's comfort and enjoyment.
Springwood is a beautiful old house but it does need some touch ups done inside to keep it looking the part & the cleaners need to clean the floors better as the was a lot of dust on the bathroom floor otherwise well worth the stay.
I stayed in the Hayloft for three nights with friends as we attended a nearby wedding and the house was generally ideal: clean and spacious, with a well-provided kitchen. Some of our group went on a long walk by Loch Lomond which was a highlight. Our only issue was that the campbed is not really large enough for two adults, perhaps more appropriate for children. Otherwise a lovely house and a great stay.
Lovely ladies weekend to celebrate a retirement. House was beautiful and had all amenities we could have wanted. Would highly recommend
This was our 2nd stay at the apartment. The only problem was the parking. A car was permanently parked beside the apartment which made it difficult to unload/load our car. Even so, we would hire again.l
