Set in the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, with views towards Loch Earn, our holiday cottage sleeps up to 4 guests with a double bedroom (En-suite) and twin bedroom upstairs. Linen and towels are provided. The cottage is two floored with bedrooms upstairs and living space downstairs. There is a downstairs bathroom with bath and toilet. There is a lounge with sofa seating for 4 and a woodburning stove with welcome basket of logs. The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering with a fridge, electric cooker, microwave, kettle and dishwasher. There is a separate dining room with table and seating for four. Guests will also find guides to local attractions and activities. To the front of the property is a newly fitted sun lounge with views of Loch Earn and the undulating mountains. WiFi is available in the cottage. There is off-street parking beside the property and a garden area to front and rear, with a small pond in the rear garden.

The best things about view cottage: the wild garden; the view of hills and loch; birdsong; wood fire; near to lots of walks, valleys and mountains; comfortable bed and sofas; well-equipped kitchen and a red squirrel.

I think how well stocked and supplied the place is might vary, and I was perhaps lucky that the owners had just been in or staying, but it had much more in the way of provision and modern conveniences than my cursory glance at the description of the contents suggested: I'd brought a cafetiere (though luckily I'd brought my own coffee, since I think the coffee provided, along with tea and sugar, no sweeteners, was instant), a blu-ray player (Though I had real trouble getting it to work, and so used mine: they have a largely very mainstream collection of films, a lot for children, but some interesting ones in there; you can get netflix and that sort of service, but I think you'd need your own account, and to log in, but the TV has them all there spontaneously so to speak): the place had both. It has ice cube bags (this only struck me because I'd been using ice packs a lot recently for an injury: not that you need worry that someone had used these bags for such things in the cottage!), cling film, foil, greaseproof paper, corkscrew and peelers, and all manner of kitchen things; soap for every sink (which I wasn't promised and so perhaps shouldn't be relied on, but it was all there), bubble bath for the bath, which is good, though the water can't get as deep as I'd like due to the overflow outlet; it is sunken so very easy to get out of, if like me you have damaged legs; kitchen roll and toilet roll: above all, many tissues everywhere, which people never seem to think is necessary, and so which was very welcome; microwave, dishwasher; it's properly lived in, and I assume was, given how well-appointed it is. Board games, books, albeit a curious selection, all manner of maps of the area, a book to report defects in (in which I went to town), a supply of wood and kindling and firelighters: the stove is remarkably modern and good, extremely good at getting the fire going with extraordinary ventilation from beneath that makes things very easy.
I think the details provided, which are in general outdated, and in need of some correction, didn't give enough pride of place to the best local shop I found: the co-op in Killin, which is a remarkable enough place in itself, open till 10 I think every day; that said, Callander is the real metropolis, with all kinds of shops, including a superb bookshop, King's books, which should be patronised (take cash: no cards; we need to take a stand in that direction too).
There are more cafes than you'd think, even some of the hotels might serve that purpose in Lochearnhead, but really they are everywhere along the route to Callander and in Killin. IT's an extreme place, with the height of the mountains everywhere, and the rain, and the immense size of the trees that protect the house, but it's civilised.
It's important to be practical and note what was wrong in the description of the place, to save frustration: after a long journey a shop in the village is welcome. The shop has closed down, I assume due to the events of the last few years. There is none.
Most troubling for me, and I've never had this in my memory: people coming to the house. I got unlucky perhaps, but on Monday at 9am in my holiday, two men came unannounced to the garden and started cropping the grass (which absolutely didn't need it); and later, perhaps less intrusively but still it took me aback, someone drove up the driveway and I think checked the oil levels in the heater, but none of them ever announced themselves, or let me know, nor was I let know. I suspect this is a result of the remoteness of the cottage management, but it does depersonalise things. And it's properly frustrating when one is told one cannot arrive before 4 or leave after 10: that gives the management and their workers a whole 6 hour window: if there were real service, that would be the time one would fit in these things: all of them. As ever, the balance has swung, and we are to serve them, if there is any service at all.
But despite all that, the managing company Coopers were terribly responsive and very good in general, I'd say. But they are I think a long way from the cottage, and that brings its own problems. Like for instance: the key to one of the main entrances and exits was missing and couldn't be located for the whole time I was there. Probably the owners had taken it inadvertently. But it is disturbing to find one's self unable to get out of anywhere.
Some visitors have mentioned the road: apart from the motorbikes, which make a higher pitched sound and are thoroughly antisocial (Sorry: I can't control myself on that topic), the traffic I found wasn't truly audible: partly because the cottage is tucked away perhaps 60/70 yards from an important junction, which often slows the traffice as people turn, and the speed limit of this indeed major road, is in the village reduced to 30mph, so by rights cars shouldn't be making much noise then; and the road sweeps away from the house to the South, and vanishes behind other houses, even two layers of houses by the road, and all of this is on steep enough slope so there is a lot between you and the road. I'm extremely sensitive to this sort of noise, and in gneral I'd say, with the windows shut, I wasn't affected by it, in the literal sense most of the time: it was, to me, inaudible. I did take to earplugs in the morning, - perhaps upstairs one has less protection from surrounding buildings; but don't misinterpret that. I imagine most people simply wouldn't notice it.
I think the worst thing that took a while to get over was the neighbours. The place is detachead and has substantial grounds, but the nearest dwelling, just down the hill is only 5 yards away, and when the person in the shed there takes to using powertools for a good 3 or 4 hours, till 9pm at night, after one's had a long journey, and a hard one, it's hard to be tolerant on that point. And there was a bit more the next night. I think if I remember that when I consider coming again, I probably wouldn't.
There is an extraordinary cycle track, mostly flat, but by no means all, which is quite extraordinary, up Glen Ogle towards Killin, partly on old railway tracks, and back towards CAllander, and up the road towards Balquihiddur. It's very well-maintained. As is so much in the hills, that I've found.
Something suddenly struck me, as so commonplace one doesn't ever think of pointing it out, but one should: there is no phone here. No landline. I wonder if holiday homes used to have that. I imagine they must have.

We had such a wonderful stay at View Cottage. Scenery was absolutely beautiful and the walk at the rear of the cottage up the old railway is a must. Plenty of wildlife including deer to see off the beaten path. We were able to head to Oban for the day, visit Blair Drummond Safari Park, go to other various areas as Lochearnhead is such a central location. The cottage itself is very comfortable to stay in, all neatly presented and the sun room is an added bonus for sitting late evening enjoying a glass of wine and admiring such a beautiful view. It definitely lives up to its name. The view from the bedroom is spectacular as you can see the loch at the front and mountains at the rear. Plenty of kitchen accessories to cook with and everything at hand as if you were in your own house. I’m only sorry I didn’t originally book it for a few days more as none of us wanted to come home. Both Phil and I loved staying here and the kids had a great time too exploring the gardens surrounding the cottage as well as visiting the neighbours chickens. Such a lovely cottage surrounded by beautiful scenery and extremely pleasant folk living in the area, what more could you ask for? Can’t wait to go back again next year!

We had a lovely few days at View Cottage. Great access to walking and cycle trails. Cottage was comfortable and we very much enjoyed listening to the bird song in the sun room.

We enjoyed our stay at View Cottage. We especially liked the sun lounge and spent a lot of time there. The cottage is a very good starting point for hikes and excursions. Unfortunately the village shop is no longer there, so you have to go to Killin or Callander for supplies.
What we did not like so much:
- The dining room is quite dark
- Showers are not comfortable
- The area around the fridge needs some maintenance
But this did not affect our stay.

We loved staying at View cottage - the location is perfect for exploring the area, and the views over the loch are beautiful. It’s such a peaceful spot.
We found the cottage very comfortable, the beds and linens were very good quality. It’s more spacious that it looks in photographs, and extremely well equipped with everything we needed.

This is a very comfortable cottage with great views. The conservatory is a great place to sit immersed in nature, although I thought the view from the bedrooms over the lake were even better. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed a few of the games left in the dining room.
Whilst at at the cottage we enjoyed walking up to Glenogle (although the Military Road route back was very boggy), stand up paddleboarding on Loch Earn, cycling from Aberfoyle and searching for red squirrels. We even made it across to the chair lift at Glencoe one day. Lochearnhead itself is a very quiet village but very well situated to visit much of the area.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning and very quiet location.
The vast majority of the time was silence, only ruined by the large number of motorcycles during the weekend days.
We had a family of Siskin’s in the garden as well as deer.
We spent the majority of the time in the conservatory with stunning views.
I lit the log burner one evening which was lovely.
The furnishings, beds, settee’s are all very comfortable.
Unfortunately when we entered the cottage and each subsequent day, there was a very musty smell in the kitchen and less so in the dining room.
We stored our coats in the living room.
This issue would not stop us from booking the cottage again, it’s very many positives greatly outweighed the musty smell.
It’s a good location to do the local walk on the old railway line up through the glen, we visited Callander, Stirling, Loch Kathrine, Killin, Crief and Comrie and a day trip to Fort William for a journey on the Jacobite Steam Railway.
If you are a cyclist the cottage is close to the National 7 (I believe) cycle route.

This beautiful cottage has everything you need and more from games,books,maps.information and even recipe books and candles for outside. The view from every room is fabulous especially the conservatory. A very comfortable cosy cottage with the feeling of privacy .The only down side for us was the narrow bath and very small shower cubicle.

We had a lovely stay at View Cottage. The view is so lovely and the cottage is comfortable. The loch is just a short walk away. We had a wonderful day out in Stirling which I would recommend.

The photos don't do justice to how large and comfortable View Cottage is in reality. In particular the conservatory was bigger than expected and is where we spent most of our time. 2nd bedroom looks cramped in the photos but is actually quite spacious! Beds and linens all really good quality, as are the rest of the furniture and fixtures/fittings. Kitchen very well equipped. Whilst we expected a nice cottage from the photos, we found it to be far superior to what we'd anticipated and that added to the enjoyment of our stay.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at View Cottage!!

As others have mentioned, the conservatory is fabulous - we loved getting out into the hills on the good weather days, and the conservatory was so comfortable with great views to while away the rainy ones (yes, there were a few!!). The cottage is well equipped (including big fridge-freezer and dishwasher) and the beds were really comfortable.

I am a very light sleeper and sensitive to noise. The cottage is close to the main road but elevated from it, and therefore road noise wasn't a problem. The only thing we found was that if one of us used the loo or sink in the upstairs bathroom at night, the macerator kicked in and was likely to wake the other up. But there is another bathroom downstairs.

We really liked the air conditioned sun room with a view over the loch. A very well equipped kitchen, and convenient with both a dishwasher and washing machine. The only thing missing was a clothes horse to dry the clothes once we had washed them. We also appreciated the good selection of games to play in the evenings.
Highly recommended and if we ever need to be in that location again, we'd love to come back.

View Cottage has a lovely position high above the road at Lochearnhead, but is surprisingly peaceful & quiet. The garden room is a joy of sunshine with views down the loch & is even a pleasure when the days are wet & grey. The kitchen despite being quite compact had everything we needed. It was also a treat to find the old railway station behind the cottage & be able to do a circular walk to the viaduct & return over the garden fence. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely cottage, well equipped and clean. The conservatory made a real difference being able to take in the views even if the weather was poor. excellent location for walking with a cycle route in the village heading north and south.

Thank you. The conservatory is a relatively recent addition to the property but it is a great space to relax. They are currently working on a new cycle route that will take you from Lochearnhead to St. Fillans, along with the routes to Killin and Balquhidder you mention.

Lovely cottage, extremely well equipped for self catering. Location is great with fabulous views and a short walk to the local shop and hotel bar! Plus loads of great walks in the immediate vicinity. The conservatory is a fabulous day room and there’s lots of living space. We had a very enjoyable short break and will be back to explore this beautiful area some more.

We will keep on coming back to View Cottage as it's a lovely quiet and comfortable cottage with amazing views and the conservatory is a fabulous addition. A great location to reach many places in Scotland and can also highly recommend the Deils Cauldron in Comrie for amazing food and Cafe Comrie for breakfasts and lunches etc. The pub is in walking distance too! If we had the money and this cottage came up for sale we would love to buy it - it is that good :-)

This was my second stay at View Cottage, my previous stay in Sept 2017. I just love the place! It's furnished to a high standard, especially the conservatory which is a lovely place to while away a few hours in the evening. The cottage is easily accessible and is in a great location if, like me, you are working your way through the Munro's, lots within a reasonably short drive. Looking forward to another stay later in the year :)

What a beautiful cottage. It's unusual to be able to say that everything was perfect but View Cottage truly was and everything worked.
Sitting in the conservatory overlooking the Loch any time of the day was a joy. The bottle of wine and biscuits was a nice touch on arrival.

View Cottage is in a wonderful location, from the bedroom you get a view right up to the other end of Loch Earn. The cottage is well equipped for cooking own meals , a great sized fridge/freezer and a dish washer. We were a bit disappointed that there weren’t any coat hanging facilities and no airer to hang wet washing.
The cottage has a conservatory which is lovely and cozy, we sat and looked at the stars at night and watched the sun come up in the morning.
We managed a few days out walking doing the Glen Ogle Trail, and walking along the side of the Loch. It is a beautiful area to visit and also got to Callander, Oban and Stirling.

Well what an absolutely lovely cottage in a beautiful location! It's very comfortable, well-equipped and furnished to a very high standard throughout. The conservatory which is new for 2017 I think is very high quality and a real showpiece! The wood burning stove in the living room was a real bonus as the nights were quite chilly!

This was my first visit to View Cottage and to this part of Scotland and I'm already looking forward to returning early next year and to a few more visits after that for sure. If, like myself, you're on a mission to climb the Scottish Munro's then this makes a perfect base, there are lots of Munro's within a relatively short driving distance.

Many thanks to Cooper Cottages for providing fantastic accommodation and I would heartily recommend View Cottage to anyone.

View cottage is very well equipped with a lot of lovely details. The recenty added wintergarden is a wonderful place to enjoy the superb views of Lochearnhead even on very rainy days. Because of the central location it was an ideal place for exploring a lot of interesting places in central Scotland and the Highlands.

A very nice property providing easy access to a very scenic part of Scotland. We enjoyed cycling in the area on National Route 7 and various nearly traffic free roads. The property is well equipped, we found nothing missing, and the recent addition of a conservatory has greatly enhanced the views over Loch Earn.

The cottage was surprisingly well equipped, the decoration was very tasteful and all rooms are cozy and comfortable. Our favourite was the sun room which is a great place day to relax after a day of exploring the Central Highlands. The location is peaceful and offers great views onto Loch Earn and the surrounding hills. Loch Earnhead serves as a good location to be based for day trips into the surrounding area (Fort William, Oban, Glencoe, Loch Tay & Glen Lyon, Callander & Stirling). A truly great holiday cottage which we can highly recommend.

Another enjoyable week at Lochearnhead, though as often, the weather was the only fly in the ointment. The conservatory was a great addition in which to relax together with the new windows. Very pleasant.

Spent a great week here. Nice tow nice walks. One up Glenogle and another back from St Fillans along the back road.. Lovely place to explore by car too.

This was my first visit to Scotland and it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. When we arrived at View Cottage, it was immaculately clean, bright, homely and had everything we needed for our stay. Absolute luxury. The wine, biscuits and milk left for us were much welcomed!
The rooms were all very comfortable, lovely beds, sofas, and the central heating and wood burner were a real treat, making the cottage lovely and cosy every evening.
The surrounding areas were fabulous to explore and we were lucky enough to see red squirrels, deer and various birds of prey up close.
We had a wonderful time staying here and would highly recommend booking with Cooper's Cottages as they were the best we'd ever used. Very professional and very well looked after. We'll certainly be back! 10/10

The cottage is very welcoming, cosy, well equipped, very clean and quiet.It is a great central location for exploring the area (daytrips, walking, outdoor activities). The view of the area is wonderful. We enjoyed every day of our vacation.

This is a comfortable, clean, well furnished and generously equipped cottage. There is plenty of room for four adults and we found everything we needed was there. There are also folders full of holiday information - walks, places to visit etc. The central heating is very efficient, we didn't use the wood burner as it was quite a warm week. Having two bathrooms is very helpful and the en suite shower is extremely powerful, which the two younger members of our party thought was a plus.
View Cottage provides a good touring base, but there are also many walks and cycle rides from the village. Kinnin is 15 minutes and Callander 25 minutes drive. Both have a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The Lochearnhead village shop is moments from the house.
We would be happy to visit again. Just one warning - on arrival at the cottage, be aware that the steep gravelled drive is quite skiddy and bumpy so needs care.

General very good cottage, nice and good foreseen of the needed equipment to enjoy your stay (towells, ...)
Toilletes of the bathroom didn't work well
Some plates of the wooden path of the pool in the garden aren't fix anymore. This can be dangerous. We recommand to make it fix.

My wife and I found the cottage to be very comfortable and pleasant, and on the whole we wanted for nothing being well stocked with the essentials - apart from the weather of course, but having stayed at Earnknowe for the past 17 years we are well used to the vagiaries of Scottish weather. That did not make the week in view cottage any less enjoyable as It was easy to warm when we wanted to. It is well situated and located for getting around the area.

Easy to find, very peaceful and quiet, great view over Loch, and within walking distance of nearby restaurants. Only two small negatives - the noise of the upstairs macerator can be annoying at times and a slight smell of the heating oil in the kitchen. Cottage makes an excellent base for local outdoor pursuits. Highly recommended.

Been to many self catering places in Scotland & Northern England. Definitely one of the best; most striking is the lovely garden; equipment and general comfort are good, and one feels at home. Walks from the house a bit limited, as the Loch roads lack pedestrian walkways - cycle way to Strathyre is best. By car very handy for Callander, Loch Duine, Aberfeldy and many more. Local shopping pretty basic, but enough to survive on; best to go to Callander. The view is fine but not quite as good as name suggests as it's occluded by trees and neighbouring houses.
Directions for getting in are incorrect: the key box is not at the front door. It’s at what most people would call the back (entry to the kitchen, away from the approach to the house). This caused us some confusion and annoyance after a long journey. And by the way, it’s not on the left but on what most people would call the right. This doesn’t matter so much, but made us laugh.
A few minor upgrades to equipment (on which we left some notes) would make it almost perfect. Certainly want to come again.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at View Cottage. It was already warm on arrival & the facilities are excellent. The rooms are spacious & well decorated & there is everything that a couple or family would need. It was a mixed weekend weather-wise but that didn't stop us getting out & about; returning to a cosy, beautiful cottage was so lovely.
The 'extras' left for us on arrival were both fantastic & unexpected - the wine & shortbread were much appreciated! There are various places to eat nearby but equally the kitchen is really well equipped. There are also walks & views a-plenty!
To sum up, I had recommended the cottage to friends within 10 minutes of my arrival! I will definitely stay here again when I can!

A beautiful little cottage in a wonderful location with easy access to a number of pretty villages and lochs in the area. The cottage is well furnished and sports a useful wood fired stove. The kitchen was well furnished and the cottage even comes with broadband access.. All in all a great stay!

Most enjoyable stay at the cottage. Lochearnhead is well placed for walking. Best facilities for local shops / meals etc within 20 mins at Killen. Pity the weather can't always be as dry as our stay.

We had a lovely week in View Cottage, the view down the Loch is beautiful especially when the mountains are covered in snow, as they were for us. Although we didn't get any red squirrels in the garden, we did get deer and the pond was full of frogs and frog spawn!

We really enjoyed staying in the cottage, the only thing we felt it lacked was a freezer, especially, considering there aren't any decent food shops around - there wasn't even a small freezer compartment in the fridge! That said, it's in a great place, Tesco delivers there, and we would recommend it to anyone.
