This lodge was a great find set in a peaceful location but a short drive to Oban Town.
Unfortunately we didn’t have the weather to sit out but there was a lovely decking area to enjoy the views.
Site managers were great and available any time.
Lovely pub/ restaurant walking distance great food.
Ferry to Kerrera is a must! Would recommend this holiday site as a great base to explore the area would book again.

1. Reception desk should be operated at least once a day, maybe for 30 minutes, to support guests when needed. A phone number attached to the reception entrance is a too poor effort to support your guests ... and guests from abroad pay extra for telephone communication. A receptionist would also allow the guests to give a direct feedback (at arrival and departure).
2. Spring cleaning failed or not yet done: rather many spider webs and unclean windows. Washroom and kitchen facilities were OK. One single roll of toilet paper is poor and Tesco is not next door ...
3. TV disconnected (never had a signal) and WiFi signal far too week.
4. Some additional information could be useful in cabin, e.g. how to use stove and oven, list of available TV stations, proposals for sites worth visiting, indications to connect WiFi, possiblity to use a washmachine and location of recycle bins (found out only at departure ...).
5. Is it really necessary to have the gras cut and blown during evenings of Saturday and Sunday?
We recommend this location with the reservation that above mentionend elements are corrected.

Convenient for exploring biking trails and walks in the area. Comfortable beds and generally well equipped lodge (although no washing up clothes or brush). Nice and quiet at that time if year and we enjoyed unseasonably warm and sunny weather. Unfortunately there was a local power cut one afternoon/evening. Torch, candles and lights provided by hosts just before power was restored.

We stayed here for a week and loved it. It is an amazing location. The lodge was not as big as I expected but once there was big enough for everything we needed. Roshin was lovely and helpful. Only one small thing was the WiFi signal in the lodge was poor if you needed internet connectivity. Lots of great things to do in Oban and surrounding areas. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back again in the future.

2020 Covid lockdown , we needed a holiday and needed somewhere safe and clean. The lodges are exactly that, very clean with everything provided. We felt it was home from home and a good base to tour the area. A very relaxing holiday. We will definitely return.

The bed mattress was awful spoilt the stay
Sofa was very basic and not that comfortable
Dog friendly so a gate at end of decking would have been invaluable ( also for young children)

We stayed in a lodge for 3 people which had fairly recently been refurbished to an excellent standard. We had a fantastic stay, helped by the glorious weather but we found the lodge very clean and well appointed. The kitchen had new equipment and utensils and included a dishwasher. We sat out on the deck for our meals and made us of the bbq provided. The location of our lodge was quiet and there were some interesting walks locally. Only 3 miles from Oban was a bonus and we managed to do plenty of activities including a trip to Mull and the Island of Seil. We did not have much contact with the hosts as Covid 19 prevented them opening the reception. They did provide a phone number to contact them on if any problems. In normal times I would expect there to be more interaction. I'd like to return as there are many other things to do in the area.

We had a fantastic stay. Our lodge was 1st class and the views out the windows were to die for. Alot of thought has gone into the set up and equipping of these lodges. We stayed 3 nights but wish it had been longer. It was just 5 min by car into Oban town centre. We went across to Mull on the ferry for the day. Would highly recommend and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Not everyone will be so lucky with the weather as that's out with anyone's control but it was fantastic for us!!

This was our 5th stay at Lagnakeil and we have always found it to be a lovely and comfortable place to stay. It is set in beautiful and peaceful location among Pines with brilliant wildlife and birds to watch. The sheets and towels were fine but the duvet could have been better considering the price we paid for the accommodation. Also there wasn't a small roasting tin for the oven. There were plenty of cleaning materials and cloths for the dishes. The internet was adequate for our use. Good for viewing wildlife.

If you fancy a quick break, then I can recommend Lagnakeil very much. This is my partner's and myself second visit to the lodges over near Oban. The weather wasn't so great, but the scenery was fantastic. Only 60 odd miles from Glasgow (it was several hours from the Scottish Borders for us), it is a convenient location for a break.

There were issues in the lodge, but these were all dealt with speedily and to our satisfaction (good customer service).

Happy to recommend the lodges.

It smelt bad and was dirty. We couldn't stay so left shortly after we booked in.
The lodge is outdated and dirty. Just replacing the sofa and chair would make a difference and make guests want to sit down and get comfortable.

We phoned late afternoon on the day wanted to arrive and it was no bother getting booked. We arrived a little late after 6pm, but again no bother with getting our lodge. The lodge was lovely spacious and clean and smelt fresh. We would definitely recommend Lagnakeil and hope to return sometime soon ourselves.

My wife and I have just spent a brilliant 9 days at Lagnakeil. The weather was mixed but the lodge was very cosy. We kept the cost down by cooking some evening meals, nearby M+S food hall was very useful. The local Barn pub was brilliant for a pint and their food was excellent.

We cannot fault Lagnakeil and will definitely return, although it would have been nice to have a chat with the owners, they did not seem to want to talk to any of their customers which seemed strange to us.

Beautiful situation and very comfortable,if rather dated,accommodation.Everything worked as it should and at last,a lodge with a decent power shower.So definitely no complaints about the accommodation.
What was rather disappointing was in all the time I was there not a single member of staff introduced themselves,note left with instructions on arrival and instructions left for departure too so rather disappointed that the proprietor couldn’t make the effort with that personal touch,I haven’t experienced anywhere else.

We booked the lodge only a few days before traveling and received a very prompt acknowledgement and further email with some useful local information. By contacting the owners before arrival we were able to check in early and found the lodge well presented and supplied with all the basic requirements to self cater and easily warmed up with the heaters fitted. Oban is only a short drive away with plenty of choice with regards supermarkets and places to eat. The only minor detrimental matter was the local pub has seasonal opening hours and was not open during our stay however, overall a good place to stay to explore the local stunning scenery.

My husband and I stayed in a Beech Lodge and my daughter and son-in-law stayed in a Poplar Lodge for 5 days 23-27 October 2017. We fully recommend these Lodges that are set amidst beautiful scenery and a brilliant in a secluded relaxing area just outside the bustling town of Oban. I was looking for accommodation for a short stay near Oban and found Lagnakeil Lodges on the Internet. A phone call secured the booking and we arrived at teatime on Saturday after a drive across Scotland from Aviemore. The lodge is compact but nevertheless big enough as a holiday "cottage" and fairly well equipped. The single carriageway road that leads to the lodges has to be driven with care but, once there, the lodges are in a beautiful location. The lodge contained all that was needed for our stay and we were pleased to see a sea eagle flying overhead and a young deer pass nearby at breakfast time. It's a short drive into Oban where there are supermarkets and a good number of restaurants. We had come west specifically to visit the island of Staffa and Fingal's Cave courtesy of Staffa Tours. Our stay was restricted to just three nights before we had to head south and home, and it was a very enjoyable time.

Well appointed and surprisingly spacious accommodation in a beautiful rural location. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The nearby Barn Bar is a great find providing a wide selections of beers and range of food.

Being hyper critical 1 Beech lodge could do with the following minor (very) adjustments:
The shower slider rail is too loose and the shower head rotates when the shower is on so you have to walk round with it to stay under the flow.
There isn't sufficient lighting to read on the sofa, it could to with another stand lamp.

That's about it. I could highly recommend this accommodation, I'm sure we will look to stay again if we visit the region again.

Lodge was clean and had lovely views . Good value for money. It was very close to Oban which we visited regularly. The beaches were great for our dog. We were lucky to have good weather and popped into "the barn" down the road for a drink on our way back from our days out . The only slight negative was the cabin was quite small ( especially the kitchen area ) , but was adequate for myself , husband and dog . We really enjoyed our break .

I found the chalet to be very clean and comfortable. The owners, Paul and Lauren, are friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. The site is well looked after and well situated in a rural area with lovely views but less than a 10 minute drive from Oban and provides a good central base for exploring the area. My dog was made to feel welcome and there are plenty of 'poo bins' on site. Would definitely recommend Lagnakeil Lodges and hope to return there myself soon.

The views and location were stunning but it was a lot of money for such poor accommodation. It is quite off the beaten track down narrow lanes but this added to the experience. Having said that it isn't too far from the busy town of Oban, park in Tescos.

What a nice warm welcome in a lovely, quiet location! Feels private and off the beaten track but so easy to get to and close to Oban amenities. Lodges very comfy and cosy even in a wee Argyll storm.

Loads to do about the place. Enjoying local food is a must though and the recommendations given in the lodge guestbooks are well worth checking out.

Will look into booking again for our next visit to the area.

This was our 3rd stay here. Each time we visit we have a wonderful time! Paul and Lauren are lovely hosts and can't do enough for you, while still giving you space and privacy to come and go as you please. We had a great stay in November when the weather was fantastic with crystal clear skies. Perfect location for exploring Oban and the surrounding area. The dark skies at night made viewing the stars and constellations a must but wrap up warm.
The lodge was equipped with all we would want and was comfortable. Only slight downside was the sofa was a bit tired and old but that is being picky!

I'll atart off by saying we will stay again, but the couch desperately needs the cushions you sit on replaced as they're uncomfortable to the point that you feel the wooden frame, and the cabin was cold when we arrived and they could have had the heaters on for us arriving, more lighting in the car parking area as there's a small wall at path into house and in the darkness Its painful when your shins meet the wall

Lagnakeil was peaceful, quiet and set in beautiful countryside. Just what we wanted. We also appreciated being self-contained. The facilities allowed us to cook for ourselves if we wanted, or ofcourse, we could go up the road to the nearby pub instead (which we did). We were traveling relatively light, so it was good to have use of a washer and drier, although the washer was a bit quirky.
I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. It made a great base for touring the area. Be sure to do the 3 island tour out of Oban; the trip to Fingal's Cave was a highlight.
If you're trying to decide whether to stay in Fort William or Oban, stay in the Oban area. Fort William has much less to offer.

We have stayed here many times now over the last few years as we love the peacefulness and beautiful views from the cabins. The cabins are comfortable clean and tidy. enjoyed our stay, in spite of the weather not being the best. You take your chance at this time of year. Cabin very clean and comfortable. If a bit chilly, one heater in the sitting room heated up the space very quickly. TV reception excellent and wi-fi best we have experienced in the area. So good if you want to keep in touch. Phone reception also good. Mentioned to Paul that a few more pans in the kitchen would be good. But enjoyed the situation, surroundings for walking the dog and peace from traffic noise, and nice not to have lots of security lights spoiling the dark. Would go again.

I stayed for only one night with my family in a two bedroom lodge. It was quite clean on arrival, also kitchen was well equipped. The manager is very helpful and friendly. The views from our deck were fabulous, straight down to glen. Would definitely recommend this lodge to friends.

Great location and lodges well set out on site with balconies and have fantastic views. Owners very helpful and fishing equipment, barbecues etc. available if required. Our lodge was a bit dated inside and we weren't aware that we would have to pay extra for electricity, although minimal, we felt this should have been included in the price.

We stayed at Lagnakeil lodges in beech lodge 1 for a 5 night break. The only thing that I would say could of made our stay better was if we had booked for longer as we didn't want to leave. Such friendly people and a great comfy lodge with everything you need for a perfect break. We highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area.

We used Lagnakiel as a base for our trip to Mull and Staffa. It was perfect. We got to the ferry early and were able to go to Tobermory. The drive to Fionphort was interesting- single lane with passing places.

We needed a base for our holiday and chose Oban as a good starting point. We were thoroughly blown away by the stunning setting of the Lagnakeil Highland Lodges. The lodge was spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable and the view from the decking was amazing.

Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and the whole site was well looked after and well organised. Great value for money, we'll definitely be going back!

Good lodge with excellent views and a bird lovers paradise. Spacious and comfortable accommodation. Lovely to have balcony space too. Basics all there for a self catering stay. Easy reach of Oban, ferries to the islands and wildlife tours. Owners helpful. Plenty of leaflets on what to do available. Didn't use it in the end but useful laundry room available. We stayed 4 nights in the dog friendly Beech lodge which was situated right at the top of the lodge park. The lodge was very clean and offered all we needed for our break and the views from the deck were simply stunning.
This is a real twitchers paradise with an abundance of variety including buzzards, woodpeckers and a resident cuckoo. The highlight was the sea eagle which made its regular journey down to loch for a spot of fishing. All this only a 10 minute drive from Oban.
Paul and Lauren and their team couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay and I really can't recommend this place highly enough.

I booked the lodge a couple of weeks before i went it was for myself my partner and aunt the day before we went up i phoned and asked i could bring my dog so my auntcould not make it so on heading up got to the lodges got showen to the lodge by the owner who was very nice got taking to the lodge witch looked lovely very clean place on open the door could feel the cold inthe place the owner told us he had put on the heading just half an hour before the place was cold was showen round and told how everything works.after the owner left the place had a funny smell about an hour laterplace was still cold so my partner went to have a bath after running the bath we seen the water was brown now i no water should not have been brown my fatherworked for the water board and we also seen that in thebathroom there was only a small fan heater so we went out for something to eat on our return had to turn it up hi again there was still had a smell soon going to bed could no understand whee the smell was coming from.on having not slept well throw the night on waking up in the morning we could tell wa
hat the smell was .IT WAS CAT PEE so we got up from bed got packed and left went to pay the owner for having the dog the onwers where not in so paid the worker on site

The site and surroundings are simply amazing, we went to the local dog friendly pub for dinner and within minutes found ourselves in conversation with many of the locals, incredibly friendly atmosphere all round, we would highly recommend Lagnakeil to anyone and intend to return ourselves in the new year but this time for a longer stay as there is so much we didn't have time to see.

We hadn't been before and so were very pleasantly surprised at the at the space, comfort and quality of the lodge. The owners were extremely helpful.

The only minor disappointment is the separate charge for electricity. I would have thought £85 per night was sufficient or that the additional electricity charge would be mentioned at point of booking.

This was only a tiny issue and we would have no hesitation in revisiting or recommending Lagnakeil to others.

Enjoyed my stay but we were not told about the WiFi service which is impossible to connect to (we were told that WiFi is available), we were not told that we need to pay electricity charges during our stay. Colin wasn't really helpful and when I called him to inquire about what things to bring with us, he was abrupt and dealt in a unacceptable non -professional way and because we needed holiday, the option to cancel was remote.

We returned to Lagnakeil following a previous stay for our honeymoon 12 years previous and were not disappointed. The lodge we were allocated was the same one we had previously stayed at and Colin was happy to accomodate this request. The lodge had been updated in the intervening years with the added advantage of freeview tv and wifi. The Lodge was very comfortable and the only problem we had was getting up in the morning as the beds as so comfy!

The grounds are lovely to walk through and are continously maintained.

We were very grateful for our dog to be accomodated at the last minute.

I cannot fault our stay and fully recommend.

Beech Lodge is in a superb location. The views from the lodge were a delight along with the wildlife. We had a cool week but soon warmed up with the electric heating. Bathroom is basic but functional. Water pressure not great for a shower but we enjoyed the bath. Chopping board would have been useful in the kitchen. It would have been nice if the hosts had popped in once during our stay to check things were ok but we only saw them for the handover of keys. They promoted The Barn which was excellent. We enjoyed the live music on Sunday pm as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary.

We found the service at first very frustrating Colin & Jo were unavailable on the supplied phone number just the answer machine not what you want to hear after a 7 hour drive and you want to check in and relax . The cabin was very nice and surrounds beautiful , washing machines and dryers were expensive and the extra cost of power 5 pounds a day all added up . But it was a enjoyable stay . You will need a car though

Lagnakeil Highland Lodges are the perfect place to relax.
Very well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable home from home set in wonderful scenery and yet only a short distance from the lovely town of Oban.
Our break was end of Febuary/beginning of March so was a bit chilly but that is to be expected, would love to return in the summer for a longer stay to appreciate all there is on offer in this beautiful part of Scotland

enjoyed our stay but only thing that irritated me was the fact that someone came in to the lodge when we were out and swapped our settee for another one, and managed to leave muddy bootprints on the carpet which we had to clean up and hoover. I know they are legally allowed to come into the lodge but they could have had the courtesy to ask us first. other than this minor problem, the short break was lovely and we were allowed to take the dog which was nice.
