A simply stunning two bedroom apartment that combines historic period features, large living space and city centre location. You will struggle to find a more characterful property for your stay in the city.

Very Disappointing

Fabulous location, lovely place & well equipped.
However, arrived & the place had not been cleaned. Phoned the emergency number, explained the situation & were told to go out and the cleaner would be in.
We had a long train journey and wanted to relax, but went out to dinner reluctantly.
Received notification of cleaning completed, apparently!
The oven had not been cleaned, the bed did not have a mattress protector & the sheet was too small for the bed. This I find totally unacceptable as this is unhygienic.
A very disappointing stay and over priced for what we received.
Will definitely not use StaysYork again.

Overall, Micklegate Residence was as expected and looked the same as in the photos. The central location is excellent with everything in walking distance so no need for buses or taxis.
The only issue for us, as five adults, was it’s great for four but not for five. The person who slept in the living room hardly got any sleep as the bed settee was really uncomfortable and due to the central location, the traffic was constant so it was really noisy all night. She slept on cushions in one of the back bedrooms on the second night. We would however, definitely stay there again if there’s only 4 adults.

This large apartment is up one flight of stairs and very pleasant with exposed beams. It's located on a busy street with many local amenities close by. Most visitor sights are north of the river so requires some walking but everything is close by so no issues. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen but was not used by us as we enjoyed using the local coffee shops, pubs and restaurants.
Car parking is available but remotely located around 10 mins walk away. Dropping off luggage and passengers on arrival would require you stopping on double yellow lines, we chose to park further up the hill in a dedicated car parking space, again no real problem but if you have some mobility issues please bear this in mind.

We had a great midweek stay.
The car park is a 10 min walk away. Luckily it's a downhill walk when arriving! It was great to have it included in the stay.
Even better was to receive a text to give us an earlier check in.
The apartment is lovely and ideal for our party of 2 couples.
The kitchen is really well equipped, though the central location means there are plenty of places to eat out.
We would definitely stay again, but would take an eye mask as the main bedroom is quite light.

This flat was amazing! From the way that it has been redone to include the beams to the layout and huge size of it and it was extremely clean! The location is about an 8 minute walk to the train station and just about a 5 minute or so walk to the shops and the area known as the Shambles. The two bedrooms with two bathrooms worked perfectly for our trip. We did find it odd however to not have any shampoo or soap for the shower which a lot of accommodations do provide. It would be easy to do so. However, the included washer and dryer came in handy (and drying rack too which a lot of places don’t have). The kitchen had a big refrigerator which was nice as we stocked up with some food from the grocery store just a couple doors down. Check in and directions were nice and clear to understand. This company is easy to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this flat again.

Wonderful flat in a great location. The expose beams were gorgeous and the flat was so spacious. Nice welcome pack with everything you need to get started. The beds were comfy and plenty of big soft towels. Car park was close to the property and easy to find and it was only a short walk to the sights and shops in York. Had a fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here next time we come to York.

One of my favourite places I've ever stayed! The pictures can't do it justice, and you feel you have just stepped back in time as you're surrounded by all the history of this lovely Tudor building. Beautifully renovated, this beamed apartment takes up the top floor of the house and along with so much character, has all the modern conveniences you could want. It has gorgeous furnishings, fabulous bathrooms and nicely equipped kitchen. The living space and the master suite were so impressive! Parking is a few minutes away which is a bit of a walk with the suitcases but it is so great to have the parking included! Would definitely like to return and stay at the Micklegate residence again. Stays York were great to work with and we have stayed at a couple of their properties now. 10/10 for this amazing place!

We were very pleased with this property. The location was perfect as we had rail passes and the station was about a five minute walk away, and the centre of the enchanting medieval city was only a five minute walk across the river where there is a Marks and Spencer's food floor and most other types of retail outlets.
A beautifully renovated flat, with a very spacious and comfortable feel, and we felt we were coming to a relaxing "home" every evening. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with lots of counter space and very well equipped with kitchenware, dishes, etc. The master bedroom was quite spacious with lots of storage space and a large bathroom with a bathtub. Second bedroom was quite small, perhaps more suited to one person. The dormer windows in the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms provided lots of ventilation, light and privacy.
The only caution is that the area seems to be dense with nightspots, and on weekend nights there is truly an invasion of revellers who are very drunk and rowdy. We didn't find it a problem as the bedrooms are in the back of the flat and were distanced from the party scene. We didn't have a car, so don't know what the experience would be to find street parking.

A LOVELY FLAT/HOME IDEALLY LOCATED CLOSE TO EVERYTHING WITHIN THE CITY GREAT PUBS AND PLACES TO EAT ALL CLOSE BY. THE FLAT ITSELF IS LOVELY, CLEAN AND HAS EVERYTHING WITHIN IT REQUIRED TO MAKE YOUR STAY AS RESTFULL AS POSSIBLE. WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM GOING BACK HERE AND WILL RETURN HOPEFULLY WHEN THE YORKSHIRE WEATHER IS BETTER :)

ONE THING WE STRUGGLED WITH THAT MIGHT NEED ATTENTION FROM AGENTS IS THAT FRONT DOOR LOCK APPEARS TO BE ON ITS LAST LEGS AND AT TIMES WAS DIFICULT TO GET INTO THE PROPERTY FROM THE MAIN ROAD.
