This recently refurbished apartment is situated in a quiet location yet only a minutes' walk from many of Yorks best known attractions. There is a lovely size bedroom, kitchen and living area plus on site parking for one car. This great location gives you a peaceful base from which you can make the most of everything that York has to offer

Redfearn Apartment is perfectly located for a stay in York. I stayed here for about 6 weeks when relocating to the city and getting settled in.

The parking was essential for me and I found in very convenient to be able to leave my car in a designated spot (the apartment number is hard to read on the parking bay).

The key safe was convenient and easy to use. The apartment is up some narrow stairs, probably no good for someone with mobility issues.

The apartment is a great size for one or two people (or more for a short time). It has a good sized main bedroom with 2 singles that convert to a king size (this does leave a very annoying join in the centre if you are sharing the full bed). The second bedroom is a small single and there is an additional camp bed stored in there. I used this room for storage and a guest room when friends came over.

The bathroom has a shower over bathtub, it took me a while to work out that to get full pressure in the shower you have to press the button in as you turn the handle (like you do to get higher temperatures). The overflow of the bath is not correctly plumbed in to the drain so my friend accidentally flooded the apartment below when taking a deep bath. This has been reported to Stays York. There were sewage odours coming back up the drains for the first week or so of my stay, I'm guessing this was because the place hadn't been used in a while? They disappeared by the end of the stay.

The living room and dining space is comfortable. I used the dining table for work most days, whilst not the most comfortable for extended sitting it did the job. The TV seems to be logged in to someone's Netflix so I used that during my stay.

The kitchen was mostly well equipped although there were some issues with the kettle leaking, the toaster being faulty, the hob is hard to use and the over is definitely not getting to temperature (as I found out when trying to bake a cake!).

The overall cleanliness was OK. Bed sheets and towels were clean, surfaces were wiped etc. but the overall appearance was tired. Cobwebs in corners, scuff marks on most of the paintwork, smeared surfaces. The lack of a vacuum meant I could not keep on top of keeping the floor clean and housekeeping is only once every two weeks (not enough for me who likes fresh towels and bedding at least weekly).

I think that the place would benefit from a freshen up and more frequent housekeeping. Stays York we're not great at keeping in touch, one time they range me 30 minutes after housekeeping turned up to tell me that they were coming, I'd already arranged an alternative time with the cleaner as I was still in bed! I wouldn't rush to book again with Stays York although I'd happily stay at Redfearn again if it was on another platform under alternative management.

We stayed 4 people at this apartment and it was reasonably well located. Quiet area, good value for money. We liked that it was well equipped. The only downside was that we got there in the evening and it was a bit difficult locating the apartment as all around there were apartments, and the numbers on the door were a bit tricky to find in the dark. Other than that would use it again for future stays.

Great location. Parking really useful. Generally clean but poor attention to detail. The main bedroom mirror was splattered with something. The bedside lamps are a bit far away from the bed so difficult to turn off or on when in bed. The lamp shades were covered in a thick layer of dust so unlikely to have been cleaned in quite a while. Kitchen, bathroom and living room were clean. Cooker was really difficult to get working especially as instructions provided by link and written ones in the flat were not for that particular cooker model so dials had completely different markings. Disappointed that discount card for places in York as advertised and in welcome information was no longer available, it would have been better if that page had been removed from the packs. Nice and quiet location with comfortable bed.

Great location - can easily walk to all the wonderful sites and restaurants of York - comfortable beds and all the facilities for a short stay in York

Redfearn Apartment was the perfect place to stay in York. It has a great location, only a 10 minute walk from the center of things but in a nice secluded area. The apartment was comfortably furnished and spotless. There was enough space for all of us and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a quick meal after a day of exploration. We'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay in the Redfearn Apartment, comfortable, clean and only 10-15 minute walk from York city centre. It was a little difficult to find at first but in a quiet location and apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, nice lounge and two bedrooms. Instructions were clear and the only thing I can complain about is the fact that the toilet seat in the bathroom was not fitted properly. Can highly recommend the Masons Arms pub which is literally round the corner for lunch and dinner. We will definitely return to York and book this apartment again.
