Stayed in Bwthyn Branwen in September. This is not the first time we have used Anglesey Holiday Lettings so I already had great expectations on this little cottage. It did not disappoint. I stayed with my Mum and our two dogs. It was just the right size for us both. Mum opted for the downstairs bedroom with the twin beds, with the gorgeous bathroom next door. I stayed in the double bed upstairs. Wow, it was lovely. Such a comfy bed and the bathroom was amazing. Gorgeous views from the windows too. Downstairs the lounge was nice a cosy. TV was on the small side and we did try to log into my Netflix but didn't work. Our entertainment was saying hello to the sheep outside the lounge window!!! Kitchen had everything we needed for our short stay. The cottage we stayed in was part of a complex of several cottages. We have actually booked again to go next year but staying in one of the other cottages. The location for us was perfect. Only a small shop and a pub in the village but a beautiful beach on the doorstep and lots of great walks - including the walk down to The Church in the Sea - gorgeous for sunsets!! Can't wait to return in September next year :)

Had a brilliant few days in this cottage, we were so lucky with the weather and the walk down the estuary leads to the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. We used the charger for our car without any issues, cannot think of anything negative about the cottage perfect for us, we have booked again for 2025 to explore North Wales further.

This is the second time that we’ve stayed at the property for our summer holidays. It’s perfect for us (a family of three, though the property sleeps four). It is lovely and clean, has two gorgeous bathrooms-really handy when everyone gets home from the beach and has an electric car charge point which is always available. It’s close to the beach and coastal path in Aberffraw, so you can do some lovely walks or runs right from your doorstep. Newborough beach is nearby and Trearddur is just up the road. I’d highly recommend Bythwn as a place to stay!

We stayed again in Bwythn Branwen and really enjoyed our time there. The initial contact was clear and helpful The only minor problem was that the description to get there went via Plas Newydd and Newborough whereas Google maps took us via Bethel which we found to be a much better way. The cottage was well prepared, clean and with everything in place. It was warm on arrival, in contrast to the outdoor temperature and there was plenty of hot water all the time we were there. The seating was comfortable and while the TV was not a smart TV the WiFi was excellent. All in all another splendid experience all round.

The cottage was well-equipped and comfortable; the condition of the worktop and nest of tables would prevent top marks all round. The staff were helpful and friendly and the on-site cafe was a big plus. With the pub in Aberffraw now closed, this left just the local shop as a nearby amenity - but that worked well for papers and other provisions. The 2 circular walks based on the location are excellent as is the Oyster Catcher (a short drive away) for excellent evening meals - but do book! Waking up and seeing sheep grazing right next to the lounge window makes a change for anyone coming to holiday from an urban setting!

A really nice cottage; good customer service from the agency too. Clean and relatively new appliances and comfortable stay.
The heating did struggle to cope at times; heat exchangers are known for this unless a property is completely draught free.
Would go again and recommend to others.

Great Short Stay.

Really lovely stay at Bwthyn Branwen. Loved the location. Cottage had everything we needed. Did find the heating a bit hit and miss but nothing to stop us returning. The beds were extremely comfortable. Hope to return in the near future. Good space at the front for our dogs.

We stayed here two years ago & loved it, so chose it again for a family holiday. You get a small discount if you've started before, which is nice. My Mum-in-law is wheelchair bound, so the wet room & downstairs bedroom was ideal. The bathrooms have had a gorgeous makeover since we were here last, & look modern. The upstairs bedroom has lovely views over the field, & as it has two Velux windows we were able to have a breeze come through & keep us cool at night even during one of the hottest weeks of the year! Lovely hearing cows grazing at night, & looking up at the stars was amazing. The cows were curious & came up to the living room window to peer in at us!
Did bump my head a couple of times as it's a sloping roof upstairs, but it wasn't a problem. Great having a shower room upstairs too. Only problem is that as there is no door to the upstairs room, you can hear the TV downstairs if you go to bed before anyone else!
The sofa is looking a bit shabby now, but I can't fault this place - I'd definitely stay here again. It's in a great location too, with a fab beach within walking distance.

Nice little house in Aberffraw . Beds were comfy. The downstairs living room/kitchen/dining area is open-plan and is very small. It was ok for us (2 adults and 2 small dogs) but 4 adults would be a squeeze. Showers were good.

People should be aware that the pub in the village has closed permanently . There is only one shop in the village that is rather pricey. We visit Anglesey regularly so we tend to travel all over the island , but if anyone is thinking of visiting and doesn't want to do much travelling each day then Aberffraw isn't really the place.

The beach at Aberffraw is fab but the weather isn't always so good.

Lovely little cottage. Perhaps need to state ‘no back garden. Beds really comfortable with sensible size duvets on single beds. Replaced battery in clock as it was irritating not working. Metal tab on kitchen unit needs correction as screws keep loosening they need new plugs.

These were very minor maintenance issues. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well placed in peaceful village. It’s would be a little cramped with four adults I think. The disabled facilities are great with big roll in shower room.

Smell was coming from cupboard containing pans etc took dish down from top shelf, found it contained a pear that was gradually turning to liquid, not a pretty site. The cupboard still had a peculiar smell the day we left. The two cutting board are not fit for purpose, would have disposed of them a long time ago if they were in my home. I know it’s a lot to ask, but a steamer pan would have been a useful addition to the pan cupboard . We were very happy at the cottage. The leaking teapot was replaced the next day. Staff I met were very friendly. Grass had been cut in front of the cottage but not picked up. Trod loads of cut grass back indoors, which I then had to hoover up. Walks from cottage are amazing. Information given was very helpful. I am 77, so reading info on historic sights thought the 6 figure ref were o.s. Map reference , till I realised it was for a car sat nav.! All in all, everything good.

A lovely holiday with our dog. The cottage is in a nice location. With a bit more attention to detail I would have given five stars but we had to clean stains off the lounge carpet when arrived. The pillows on beds do need replacing and more comfy cushions in lounge and a foot stool would make it more comfortable to relax in. There were only 2 of us but the lounge and open plan area were a bit small for four adults I can imagine. It was chilly at night and the quilts on bed were rather thin and no spare blankets, The heating did not always work correctly. The clock on the wall did not work & for the sake of a battery! whilst these are only minor issues, if dealt with this would greatly enhance the experience.

We had a lovely stay at Bwthyn Branwen. Both of the bathrooms have been refurbished so we were really surprised as they are so much nicer than the photos on the website - they are really lovely. Plenty of parking, lovely cafe just over the carpark where we had breakfast one morning. Very nice & definitely recommend. The local pub has unfortunately closed, so there is nowhere to walk to for something to eat, however a few minutes drive there’s the Oyster Catcher and The Sandy Mount in Rhosneiger. Both very nice. Would definitely return. Shame there’s no back garden to get the afternoon sun & skies.

This little cottage was in the majority of places beautiful and others a little tired. What looked like newly done bathrooms/kitchen were gorgeous. Beds downstairs very noisy and too soft and marked/stained in places. The most tired looking part was the blind in the lounge on window to large porch, which was very dirty. On the whole it was lovely though. My main concern (if I’d have had children with me especially) was that there were several lots of dog mess in the front garden. The location was fabulous for us with our dogs with the beach so close. I would also recommend the Cegin Bar on site for a hearty breakfast.

This is the second time we have stayed in the Aberfrraw cottages. For us, with our two Spaniels, it is an idyllic location. The dunes and beaches virtually on your doorstep are beautiful. Clean and empty. Great adventure for the dogs and a lovely walk. Just perfect. Aberfrraw has all the basics that you need, a pub and a small shop. During the winter the pub (The Crown) is closed on Mon/Tue/Wed but the Sunday lunch is excellent, booking a table is advised, the staff are really friendly and the local beer is spot on. The next village, Rhosneigor, also has beautiful beaches but many of the amenities are closed in the winter. The cottages are excellent with everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. We’re booking for next winter so take that as an unreserved recommendation. Anglesey in general is a lovely area to visit. Largely unspoilt. Love the place.

We were on a road trip round Wales and this cottage was by far the nicest of all our rentals. It was nicely decorated, well equipped and perfectly located. For rainy days or just chilling, the TV is a smart TV so a variety of programmes are available. For those with dogs, there is a downstairs bathroom kitted out for disabled people which is perfect for putting them to bed in as it has plenty of space.

It's possible to step out of the cottage and walk down to the river Ffraw in a couple of minutes, from where you can either walk out to a lovely beach, or you can follow the coast path in the other direction. All in all, a lovely base for walkers and for relaxation.

The only limitation is in food shopping - but there's a Waitrose in Menai which is only about 15 minutes' drive.

We have stayed in this cottage twice. The location is lovely. Fabulous cafe just across the road. The staff in the office were very helpful. Because of my disability, I do find the chairs a little uncomfortable. Too low to get out of and no way to have your feet up.A recliner chair would be ideal.

Had a beautiful stay at Llys Llewelyn Aberffraw , the walk to the beach is beautiful a hidden gem around the corner. We dined at the Oystercatcher in Rhosneigr then took a walk along the beach again another hidden gem. Slate black rocks popping out of the sand!. We travelled to Newborough beach and walked the island of Santes Dwynwen beautiful. The cottage was a fab base to travel around Anglesey. We will definitely be returning to one of our favourite places.

First of all, the brilliant points:
Lovely accommodation, and for disabled guests it is ideal, with a downstairs bedroom & a large wet room. The beds were very comfortable. Everywhere was clean. Nice crisp towels. Basics were provided: washing up liquid, sponge, dishcloth, tea towels, hand wash in the toilets, a toilet roll in each loo, and a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee. Salt & pepper in the cupboard too. Perfect!

The view from the upstairs bedroom is lovely, overlooking fields with cows/sheep. Great having a bathroom upstairs as well as the wet room downstairs.

We had car trouble the day we were meant to go home, and the staff in the office were incredible! They bent over backwards to help us, while we waited for a part to arrive. Because we’d checked out, but had to stay with our poorly car on the car park, they made sure we had access to a toilet, and one lady even made us hot drinks (sadly I didn’t get her name). Tracey was wonderful too, offering to give us a lift to a B&B when the part didn’t arrive in time for the mechanic to fix it.

I would recommend staying here, as it was super accommodation, but also the owner/staff were kind and generous. Nothing was too much trouble.

Now the slightly less positive points: We did have problems with the lock on the door - it was very tricky to lock, from inside or out, but I have mentioned this to the owners, so hopefully it’ll be sorted quickly. My elderly Mum stayed with us, and she is used to a warm home, so we found the smart heating system not very satisfactory. We overrode the controls to try to get the accommodation toasty warm, but unfortunately the radiators didn’t get above lukewarm (radiator thermostat was on full), so the place didn’t feel as warm as the thermostat on the wall was saying (22C). However, when we asked the owners about it, they did lend us an electric heater, which did the job well.

As I said, overall I would definitely recommend this accommodation, and hope to book my disabled mother-in-law in for a holiday soon!

We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and thank you for taking the time to leave a such a kind and honest review. It's always really helpful, as sometimes we are not always aware of some things unless we are informed by guests. Since your stay there has been larger radiators installed to aid the air sourced heat pump heating. Hopefully the property will be warmer going forward. We have also replaced the lock with a new one. We look forward to welcoming you back again.

The accommodation was very comfortable (particularly the beds) and clean. It was airy, bright and warm. Well located on the edge of the village. The village shop and pub were close by. An excellent location for walks along the beach, country lanes and close to the ‘church in the sea’. We enjoyed our four night stay and will definitely book another holiday here next year. Aberffraw is a lovely little village and ideally situated between Rhosneigr and Newborough, both of which have beautiful beaches and woodland walks.

Second stay, just as excellent as first.

Despite the horrible weather (Storm Dennis), we had a fabulous stay. The cottage is in an ideal location for walking & has everything you need for a comfortable self catering holiday. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean & the furniture & fittings had everything you needed for a short break. We visited the tea rooms across the car park & the pub/restaurant at the end of the road & they were fab - excellent service & good quality food. All in All it was a fab holiday. Thank You

Just returned from a 5 day break in Aberffraw. Cottage was perfect for both of us and our two dogs. Cottage very warm and cosy. Fabulous location, 5 mins walk to river & beach and even shorter walk to the village pub. Great value as well. Will definitely return later in the year. Excellent customer service from Rhosniegr Holiday Lettings.

I stayed here with my elderly mother and the cottage had everything we wanted. She has limited mobility so the wet room was a godsend. There aren't many cottages which are so perfectly adapted.
We even used the outside bbq area which has a wonderful view.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage, it was a great location with a beautiful local beach. The cottage was good for 3 people but on the small side if there had been 4 of us.
It was clean and functional but there were a few things missing eg. space to dry clothes and space in the downstairs bedroom to store anything.

Once the wifi was sorted out it was very good and we really appreciated the support by Jamie and the office.

I am really allergic to dogs and would usually book somewhere without pets, this time I didn't and couldn't sit on the sofa because of the dog hair. I realise that I am very sensitive to this however and should have been more careful with the booking.

The only thing we would like to mention is that the cottage hasn't been cleaned at all upon our arrival. It was really disgusting, especially the kitchen. It looked like the previous guests just left the cottage a few minutes after our arrival.
The problem has been solved the following day, but only because of the nice gardening lady, who was very helpful.
It was Saturday and nobody picked up the phone, not even the emergency number.

Finally, the cottage has been cleaned and our vacation could start.

The man you hid from! replied more than 1 year ago
Good morning Gabriella. Firstly your claim that the property was not cleaned is wholeheartedly inaccurate and you wasted 2 of my teams time during an incredibly busy period. Secondly, your (german) phone does not accept international calls and therefore we could not get hold of you and you did not respond to our email. Yes, the gardener called us and we immediately resolved your (not our) issues. Finally, we arranged a laundry change but you failed to follow an incredibly simple request to leave the keys for the team, again more valuable time wasted making 2 long trips instead of one. This property, as with all of our properties, are enjoyed by many and your unfair review does nothing other than undermine the morale of the team that work hard to deliver good holidays. Please don't come back, you were brash with my staff and not particularly a nice person.

We had the most relaxing time. It's by the laundry but who cares when the staff who pass by are so pleasant. They always have a word with the dog as she watches them, feet on the wall. This is our second visit and within ten days of getting home have booked again. Having read various reviews there is one thing I agree with and it is only small. It could do with a lamp for the evening. It is brilliant when you open the curtains and there is either a sheep or a cow looking you in the face. The beach is stunning and so close. The cafe and the pub are so close, so friendly and the food in both couldn't be better. I could go on and on. In fact I will most probably be booking yet again for the Autumn. Three times in a year. You can't get too much of a good thing!

Thank you for leaving a review. It's always nice to hear when guests have had a great stay! The owners have now placed a lamp into the lounge of the property; only a minor point but these things help, so thank you for letting us know. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. Kind regards, Jamie - Rhosneigr Holiday Lettings.

Enjoyed out short stay. Maybe more suited to 2 Adults & 2 Children. We were a party of 4 Adults and found the single beds to be rather small. Double duvets on single beds would be more comfy for adults. Overall very pleasant. Locals at Crown Pub very friendly and although we didn't eat there the food looked lovely. Lots of people eating so speaks for itself. Aberffraw is great the beach and dunes smashing.

Bwhwyn Branwen is a cute little cottage just off the A4080 and at the entrance to the village of Aberffrew on Anglesey.
It is clean, modern and well equipped and provides all the necessary adaptations for a disabled person including a designated parking space. After entering via a spacious entrance hall, the downstairs is made up of a living room and kitchen area, a door leading to a large Wet Room and another door leading to a bedroom with 2 single beds. The staircase leads to an open plan second bedroom containing a double bed. There is also a separate en-suite bathroom. Rear views look out onto open fields where cows and sheep can be seen grazing. On occasions, they come right up to the downstairs windows, which is novel and very entertaining. The cottage is also adjacent to a very popular tearoom which is highly recommended. There are sand dunes within a 5 mintute walk, ideal for dog lovers and the beach and sea is a 20 minute walk away. I would certainly recommend a stay.

Lovely & deceptive cottage with rather ‘sheepish’ neighbours that said daily hellos through the living room window :)...

This cottage is a home from home & was perfect for our half term week away, 10 mins walk to being on the beach which is fantastic & less than 5 mins from The Crown pub which served lovely food.
The cottage is ideally located & very quiet & the little cafe is lovely.

Looking forward to coming back again & staying with my family.

The cottage was a cozy little retreat for our break. The first night was the coldest of the year with a bitter wind and we were easily warm enough. Aberffraw is a beautifully placed little village with a pub to die for as well as lovely walks to the massive beach either down the river or through the dunes.

Good refurbishment of property although equipment a bit limited in some ways. Could do with lights over twin beds in downstairs bedroom, some 'mood' lighting in sitting area, loo roll holders in each loo, and towel rail in upstairs shower room. I had to buy washing up bowl and some coat hangers (which I have left for others to use). No washing machine. Also it would be good to repair the blind on the small skylight just above the sitting room entry so there could be more light there. Hot water shared so sometimes runs out if all cottages fully occupied. Problems with wifi to start with, but resolved. Staff of agency very friendly and helpful, and over all cottage very comfortable. Great location in the village.

Clean and comfortable accommodation. My husband is wheelchair bound. The wet room is a good size to manage. The down stairs bedroom is two single beds with little room between them and not much room for the wheelchair to turn around. Upstairs is a very comfortable double bed with its own seperate shower room. In a lovely quiet village with a dog friendly beach within walking distance and a beach by the Church in the sea. Great for people with disabilities who want to take their pet dogs on holiday with them.

The property was as detailed in the description including the walk times to pub and beach. It was dog friendly which was important to us. Worth some basics supplied as well when arriving. (Tea, coffee, milk etc)

We did have a glitch with the heating but the response was good to sort it out and it was fixed as quick as it could be. This sort of thing can happen but it's how is handled that's important and it was handled properly and quickly.

Overall a lovely stay and we would have no hesitation using this company again and probably will.

Another great holiday at the above cottage. We have stayed in the same cottage on 2 other occasions so will loved the new refit. Lovely beach close by which our dog and grandson both enjoyed. The food in the local pub is superb and the local tea room is lovely for a light lunch and a great breakfast (which we ordered and ate it in our cottage) fantastic.

Whilst BB was a very neat and quite well-thought out place, it would not have been adequate for four people. Living space would be cramped. Downstairs light levels were low, largely because the sitting room looked out towards the front through a glazed hall; to prevent being overlooked I had to keep the vertical blinds nearly shut. Towards the back of the cottage, the window was virtually at ground level. There was nowhere to sit outside that had any privacy. There was a lot of coming and going to the laundry next door, with some rather thoughtless parking right outside my windows. There was no hanging space for those occupying the downstairs twin bedroom; in fact, very little space at all. A lot of thought had been devoted to making the place accessible for a disabled visitor, and this was good, except that anyone in a wheelchair would have taken up a great deal of the downstairs living space. The kitchen was attractive and easy to use, though insufficiently equipped for four people. Outside, the property had a picnic table and benches which overlooked (and were overlooked by) a car park. Despite all that, the place was newly equipped and decorated and very clean, and would be ideal for one or two people, perhaps with small children, who wanted to be out of the place for the great majority of the time.

Thank you for taking the time to review Bwthyn Branwen. Customer feedback is always greatly appreciated in order for us to make continual improvements to the holiday homes. Although we agree with a few of your points raised, a few others do slightly misrepresent a great property that has been enjoyed by many in the past. Your concerns about parking have now been resolved, further kitchen equipment is now being provided and additional hanging space in the lower bedroom will be provided. We note you have scored the property 3/5 for value; your holiday was offered at introductory prices with similar properties within our portfolio costing an additional £140. Again very disappointing and slightly unfair scoring for what we believe to be a great property.
