We stayed for 3 nights, two adults a teenager and a dog. The cottage was the perfect size for us and with both rooms having a en suite there was no waiting for the bathroom! There are a couple of maintenance issues in the double bed bathroom but nothing that affected our stay. There was milk, biscuits and some tea coffee etc on arrival which is always good. The only downside was there is no where to hang clothes in the double room just drawers. which isn't a huge issue of you're only there for a couple of days but any longer you need at least a rail like in the twin room
The beautiful beach is a 5 minute walk from the property, we spent the whole day there with a picnic and its dog friendly. You will need a car to explore further and Rhosniegr is only a few minutes away by car.
We had dinner at the Oyster Catcher in their dog friendly snug.
The cafe on site closes at 4pm and isn't open at the beginning of the week even in high season which was a shame.
The day it rained we went to visit Halen Mon Seasalt which was really cute, lovely little cafe, shop and tours. Then Beaumaris for breakfast on checkout day as its on the way off the island. We had a lovely break, the property is just perfect for a few days away and a really great price for peak season too.

My wife, daughter, son in law and dog VP had a wonderful stay at Hen Golchdy. Great location, short walk to the local beach and many other wonderful beaches within a short drive away,
Cottage has everything you need for a break away from home.
Would recommend it to anyone and with a great cafe on the doorstep if you don’t want to cook your own breakfast on many days.

This is our 4th.visit to this complex and we always enjoy our time there.
Just being picky when I say the living area chairs are not too comfortable plus a dishwasher and washing machine would make it 100%.

I had a wonderful time, every thing was excellent . I only had one problem I didn't know there were steps inside the one to the twin bedroom was a bit high for me but I overcame it with an extra step. I loved the visiting lambs!!! Also could have done a bit of grass for my Princess she wasn't keen on the slate, also a little hard to pick up all the other cottages had grass. But I throughly enjoyed my time there.

We had a great few days away with the dogs, the newly fitted cottage is spacious, comfortable and very suitable for two ladies and dogs, might be a bit cramped for two couples, we have been to the site many times and know what to expect. Things to note, there were no wardrobes in either bedroom which was fine for a few days and dog walking gear but, if you need to hang smarter things and put things away out of sight, could be a problem, The door of the twin bedroom didn’t shut properly which was annoying with a dog, also we found the heated towel rails in the bathrooms difficult to operate with no information and instructions, just guess work, I am sure it would be quite simple to leave instructions on use, the ladies in the office as usual were really helpful and friendly but obviously they don’t know any technical stuff. Like all the cottages/apartments there are the basics but no extras in kitchen like paper towels, foil, cling film just have to remember to bring everything with you.

We are delighted to know you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for raising the issues you found during your stay with us; Maintenance will has been to look at the door and will attend accordingly. The towel radiators have there own independent thermostats on the wall outside the en-suite bathrooms in the bedrooms, which simply need increasing / decreasing should the temperature not be satisfactory. As this is a self-catering property the owners don't supply the items mentioned, I'm afraid. We very much hope to welcome you again in the future.

The newest property on the complex and ideal for both friends and family. Spacious and beautifully decorated throughout. Have stayed on the complex before and love the river estuary and beach on the doorstep. Our dogs loved it too. Just missing the local pub; it was great to be able to take the dogs and have a drink and a meal without having to drive. Rhosneigr has the Oyster Catcher but very busy and limited space for dogs. Need to book! Enjoyed the beaches at Rhosneigr, the crepes at Mojo's, the beach at Benllech and dog friendly cafe, the Shed.

Nice location, Warm and cosy. Cows looking through the windows brilliant. Showers were fantastic. Recliner chairs.

Downside
TV APPs / streaming absolutely hopeless, be prepared to throw the remote at the TV in frustration. Wifi doesn't work in the bedroom. Welcome pack - toilet roll and cleaning items in the welcome pack, really, should these items not be standard issue as in most holiday lets.

Beautiful location. Excellent property for people with limited mobility especially with a disabled parking space outside the property. Please note that there is one step to access the bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable and bed linen was very clean. Towels were to a high standard. Snow white and lovely and fluffy. There is no hanging cupboard space and no specific place for shoes or wet coats.

The beautifully located cottage, which was wonderfully clean. A stones throw from glorious costal walks and a short drive to the nearby town of Rhosneigr with eateries etc. Great set up for my kids although didn't realise there was no mattress or linens in the cot before coming (my fault for not reading the small print) so bring one with you if needing the cot! We had a couple of minor issues and the staff at Anglesey Holiday Lettings were lovely and sorted them out quickly. Could do with a bigger couch and a bit more storage for families, though.

I do have a few little things that could have been better. A washing up bowl in the kitchen sink would be useful and would save on water and heating of the water. A hanging rail would be very useful as we had to use the coat hooks to hang all our clothes on. The shower door in the en suite to the master bedroom did not work and the maintenance man removed it from the runner said that he would try to get a new runner and that was the last we saw of him. This was at the beginning of the week so all week we had to use the shower at the other end of the accommodation. Not that this was too much of a problem as there was only two of us. Overall the property was great and located in a great area. The above are not complaints just our comments as you asked what would be an improvement.

We spent a lovely 4 night stay in Hen Golchdy.
Everything we needed for our stay.
Bedrooms are bigger than the photos make them appear-very spacious.
Beautiful estuary/beach walk at Aberffraw is our favourite and less than a 5 minute walk away.
My only negative comment would be that the houses in the complex are all very close together with outside spaces that aren’t private and overlook the car park.This was no problem for us in early March but could have been in the busier summer months.

Very comfortable and well appointed accommodation. Stayed in January but underfloor heating kept us comfortably warm and ideal for two couples or a family of four. Both bedrooms have en-suite showers and comfortable beds. Location is excellent for the walk to the beach

This was our,2nd visit to this complex. The cottage was gorgeous, fantastic location. We had to leave early due to my mum taking ill and the staff on site were wonderful with me. I would recommend this place to anyone, we love it there.

My cousin and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was our second visit to Llys Llewelyn, and my third!
The newly refurbished property was comfortable, well designed with every facility we needed. The bedrooms were spacious with ample storage space. One bedroom had a door opening out onto its own patio space with picnic bench. The other bedroom had some lovely neighbours looking in at the window from the field, A herd of beautiful cows of all colours!
We hope to return next year.

Great property, spotlessly clean, amazing comfy beds and well equipped. Nice to see the sheep peering through the windows in a morning! We did leave a message for the maintenance person regarding the small shower head in in the master bathroom, but unfortunately nobody responded, as it didn’t affect the main shower head it wasn’t a problem.

The only comment I would make is that there seems be be a huge difference in the welcome packs for staying in this property. Thank you Anglesey Holiday Lettings for another great holiday

Top quality fittings and fixtures, carpets in bedrooms and lounge make the cottage feel more comfortable than the usual wood floors. Very secure outdoor space for your dogs. We enjoyed a few days in Hen Golchdy, Aberffraw is a place I always enjoy coming to. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. Only negative comment is the throbbing of the heat pump outside which was noisy - oh, and a larger ice cube tray would be useful!

Lovely property, very well maintained! Bed really comfy, shower excellent . Bedding and towels top quality. Had an issue with the outside bedroom door which once reported was swiftly fixed , excellent service.
Beach close by but also easy to access other areas of the island.
If I was being really picky the only way it could be improved would be a dishwasher and more comfortable seating in the garden area. Would definitely book again!

This is the second time we have stayed in this cottage since it opened in August 2021, and once again it did not let us down. The facilities are great - everything we needed. The beds are comfortable and the showers have the best water pressure that I have ever experienced! The kitchen is fully equipped, and there are useful fenced/walled in areas for letting out dogs. It is a very short walk to the estuary that leads to a spectacular beach, and plenty of coastal walks. There is also a great cafe on-site with both inside and outside tables - excellent food, especially after a good walk.

All in all, a lovely cottage in a great location.

We have stayed on this complex a few times and yet again were not disappointed. This accommodation is a fantastic addition. Everything you need for a stay away from home. Wish I had booked it for longer than the 5 days we did. The area is quiet with great walks from the door. We will definitely be booking again very soon I hope.

We felt at home as some as we entered this delightfully appointed holiday cottage. The cottage was quiet, airy and spacious and we found it very well cleaned on arrival. All of the fittings, towels and bedding were of top "hotel" quality. The showers were amazing too with rain showers. The kitchen was well fitted out with all items for cooking as we are foodies. The views from our window were delightful over farm land and we woke up to find lapwings in the field and a curious sheep looking into our window! Perfect property for relaxing, walking and bird spotting. The location was amazing too with lovely walks around estuary and Anglesey Coastal Path. We will be returning. Thank you.

We've stayed in Aberffraw a few times and love this development. It's a shame that several places on the island hadn't updated their opening times on Google - including the cafe next to this property.

We booked this accommodation without seeing it because it was still being built at the time, but had read good reviews of the other properties at Llys Llewelyn. We were certainly not disappointed - great quality fittings throughout the property, well-stocked kitchen (cutlery, glasses etc) and comfortable furniture. Obviously everything was new, as I think we were the second or third visitors in the property. There was also a nice little enclosed garden area with a picnic table.
An added benefit was the great cafe/tea rooms onsite, where the food was excellent.
We also enjoyed the short walk down to the beach at Aberffraw/Ty Croes, which is beautiful; there are so many walks that can be accessed from Aberffraw.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks and have booked the same accommodation for next year!

I wish I could add photos to this review, as it’s so new there aren’t any yet on the website. It’s lovely and finished to a high standard. You will not be disappointed. The local pub and cafe serve great food and the beach is fab. We would not hesitate to return here and would recommend it.

We had the pleasure of being the first to stay in the fabulous Hen Golchdy and it didn’t disappoint! We’ve previously stayed in other cottages in the Llys Llewellyn complex and know this beautiful area well.

Hen Golchdy is decorated to a very high standard and is well equipped with everything you could need. The location is excellent with a beautiful beach that is perfect for the dogs a five minute walk away and a cafe next door that does the best breakfasts and cakes! What more could you need! We can’t wait to visit again.
