I’ve stayed in six different cottages in Rhosneigr over the past 12 months, I can honestly say that The Boathouse is the best, and it’s my husband’s favourite.

Part of a larger building where the owner’s boat is stored, the property has been beautifully renovated and immediately makes you feel relaxed and calm from the moment you arrive. The name is reflected in the two oars displayed in the living area, a lovely nod to the boating theme without feeling at all overdone.

The interiors are stylish throughout, but what really stood out was how comfortable and functional everything was. The furniture is not only beautiful but genuinely inviting, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. The television was perfect for watching films on rainy, grey days.

The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and had absolutely everything we needed during our stay. It was clear that a great deal of thought had gone into ensuring guests had everything they could possibly need.

The patio space is secluded, private and completely enclosed, allowing us to relax knowing our dog was safe. The huge patio doors created a wonderful connection between the house and garden, and we left them open most evenings. Our little dog absolutely loved having the freedom to wander in and out. The waterproof storage provided for the garden cushions were unimposing and functional. No damp cushions you find in other properties here! There was a heavy duty, high quality garden furniture set which was used from breakfast through to a sundowner at the end of the day. The chiminea was perfect for barbecues and relaxing outdoors on cooler evenings.

The outdoor shower beside the front door was ideal for washing muddy boots and dirty dogs after a day exploring. It’s exactly the sort of practical touch that makes this holiday property stand out. The central location is ideal and a very short walk to the beach and the high street. The easy access parking for two cars on a tarmac hardstand was another big bonus and added to the overall convenience of the property.

The owner popped by during our stay as they were having an EV charger fitted (heads up) and was genuinely lovely. Rather than simply checking in, she was keen to hear whether there was anything that could be improved, which says a lot about the care and pride that has gone into creating The Boathouse.

Overall, this is a small house with a big heart. It combines style, comfort and practicality better than anywhere else we’ve stayed in Rhosneigr, and it’s one of those places that feels special from the moment you arrive. We will definitely be back and staying little!

Super happy with our stay. Stunning accommodation in a very private side street. We were blessed with fantastic weather so took advantage of the outdoor space and BBQ too. We met the owner so were able to feed back directly which I'm happy about as they have done a wonderful job on this renovation. Beautiful bathrooms, powerful showers, comfy beds and sofas, choice of pillows (thanks!), great size TV. We WILL be back. The house is naturally very warm btw even when the heating isn't on. Rhosneigr has a wonderful beach for long walks and kite flying (for us), some great places for eating out and a few shops and very easy to get to other locations around the island. Can't wait to return. Thanks again to the owners and Anglesey Lettings.

The Boathouse was magnificent and we must have been one of the first few guests to stay there. Everything was modern and new with every amenity possible. Loads of nice little touches on arrival. Will definitely be staying again, already booked for October 2026.

Minor areas for improvement; the property is open all they way around the back and our dog when in the mini outside space could in fact escape out into the road, therefore property would benefit from a small gate or panel blocking off the exit to make the outside space secure. In addition an EV charger would have been excellent. It wasn’t a problem as there are chargers not far from the Boathouse (the library) but there was an EV actually fitted to the building but is was not available to use. This would have been brilliant if available to pay-as-you-use. Just a thought!

Overall excellent 10/10, and definitely returning!

Could not fault our stay at the Boathouse! We could have happily lived there permanently! Super clean, stylish yet practical. Only one thing could have made it perfect was different depth of pillows to sleep on. They were gorgeous and puffy and looked great on the bed but I sleep on slimmer ones - perhaps a pillow menu next time?!
