Stayed at the Byre and Heron view a few times. Thoroughly recomend these fabulous cottages. Communication with Donald excellent. Hot tub an extra bonus best place to watch dark skies. Lots to do in surrounding area. Kirkcudbright an interesting town with lots going on. Looking forward to returning.
We had a great holiday with family, home from home, these cottages never disappoint, Great to see the lambs and calves in the fields surrounding the cottages, our daughters and family stayed in Robins nest. Apart from a couple of days with wind and rain the rest of the week was generally fine, and the hot tub had a great deal of use. All thanks to Donald and Vicky for keeping the cottages up to date and spick and span! Looking forward to our summer break in Heron View.
The house is lovely,with stunning views and all our family really enjoyed staying at Robins Nest,so much,that we are going to book for next year.
This cottage is perfectly located on the edge of Castle Douglas, overlooking the beautiful park and loch, with off road parking and a 2 minute walk from lots of excellent independent shops providing superb local foods. The cottage is clean, with a well equipped kitchen and great water pressure in the shower. The neighbours are lovely and extremely quiet. The owner is very approachable, always happy to help and provided us with a meaty breakfast pack from one of the local butchers on our arrival. A great base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway, so many good walks close by to choose from.
