A LARGE 3 BEDROOMED COTTAGE, 1 MASTER BEDROOM WITH KING SIZE BED AND EN-SUITE BATHROOM. 2 LARGE TWIN ROOMS. (one twin room can be made up as a Superking if required, we need to know this prior to arrival/on booking) ROOM FOR A COT. 2 FURTHER BATH/SHOWER ROOMS. SPACIOUS LIVING/DINING. FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN AND UTILITY ROOM. LARGE PRIVATE GARDEN/PATIO WITH ACCESS FROM THE LOUNGE WITH WOODEN FURNITURE AND GAS BARBECUE. LOVELY VIEWS OVER FIELDS TOWARDS THE VILLAGE.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE OPTION TO BOOK A LUXURY ONE-BEDROOMED 'SUITE' WITH BADGER COTTAGE, SLEEPING 2 ADULTS . THIS SUITE IS NEXT DOOR TO BADGER AND HAS ITS OWN SEPARATE ENTRANCE, EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM, WI-FI, LARGE FLAT SCREEN TV, COMFY SOFA, TEA/COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES AND DRINKS FRIDGE. TO ADD THIS SUITE INTO YOUR BOOKING PLEASE INCLUDE IN THE 'OPTIONS' LIST.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful peaceful cottage with onsite activities

“We aren’t staying very long. Please can we stay longer?” pleaded our five year old grandson. He was unwittingly echoing our sentiments too.

Badger is a wonderfully light, very comfortable, well appointed and well equipped, spacious cottage with a nice garden. The cottages are very peacefully located and Badger was spotlessly clean. We arrived on a very hot day. We opened some doors and windows such that Badger became nicely airy. Conversely on the cold evenings it was very cosy. There was plenty of hot water and we all slept well, thanks to the comfortable beds and bedding, and the peaceful surroundings.

Like the other cottages, Badger, the lovely pool and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We made good use of the play areas, especially the football area and the tennis court. Our grandson loved the friendly free range hens which came to watch him play! John and Amanda have provided plenty of equipment such as good tennis rackets, short tennis rackets, tennis balls, and other play equipment and games for children and adults.

In truth we were very impressed by the responsiveness and thoughtfulness of John and Amanda. In the information file in the cottage it states that you can borrow things like a cool bag if you are going out for a picnic. (There were many more things but I have forgotten what they were.) They really do try to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible, including providing a welcome basket of tasty goodies. Also, as others have said, the directions they give you on booking their accommodation is spot on.

In conclusion, we all had a great time in Badger and wholeheartedly recommend it particularly if you want some peace and quiet, yet on-site activity. Thank you, John and Amanda, for a great stay! We hope to return.

Peaceful and safe environment for a family holiday suitable for all ages. The pool was excellant. Children enjoyed the playground. Rabbits and chickens came into the garden. Also hedgehog in grounds.
WiFi variable but board games provided which we made use of.
Definately want to return again.

We had a lovely 4 night stay. Even with subdued weather we enjoyed a very comfortable stay, using the pool and playpark, saying hello to the animals and watching the tractors.
It's a great location for a day trip to York or up to Sutton Bank.

Handy to get to all the lovely Yorkshire villages and towns. Vert enjoyable holiday. This was our 4th visit, but wont be our last!

Despite the weather all grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the play area. The cottages always provide adequate space and facilities for all. We return most years.

Our stay at Badger cottage was nothing less than fantastic. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything thought of. The children loved all the space to run around and seeing the sheep on the field next to us. Having our own time slot to use the pool was great as the children could play freely without us worrying they were disturbing other guests with their splashing. They also loved having use of the play area. My daughters only "complaint " would be the slow WiFi but personally I thought this did us a favour! Meaning she spent less time on a screen and more time playing without us having to restrict her

Our 3 visit to old oak cottages and second stay in Badger, testament to how much our family of 5 love this fabulous spot. A beautifully comfortable and well equipped cottage, fabulous swimming pool and play area for the children all within easy reach of super local walks and days out. We will be back!

Fabulous stay at Badger Cottage. Very comfortable with lovely touches especially the welcome food basket. Generous sized garden was great for the kids to play and we capitalised on the dedicated swimming slot daily. Perfect break

A lovely cottage, spacious, clean and so well equipped, especially to cater for children too. Lovely welcome hamper which was nice touch.
Fantastic facilities with pool and playground. Enjoyed a BBQ too!

Another great stay in Badger cottage. Spacious, three large double/twin bedrooms, with more than enough bathrooms. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, with the added bonus of an delightful welcome hamper. There isn’t anything we don’t like about Badger! Helpful hosts and a friendly goat, what more could you want??
